The Billionaire and the Therapist (Clean Billionaire Romance Reads, #1)The Billionaire and the Therapist by Kim Koby
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I haven’t read a clean romance in FOREVER and I can honestly say I loved this one. It was like a breath of fresh air. It had all the feels, a little angst and some drama but definitely go me hooked to the series.

John is a single father after tragically losing his wife. His daughter went from being all smiles and talkative to not talking at all. It’s suggested she start speech therapy and John will do anything to help his little girl.

Natalie has her own past and demons she’s trying to escape. She was offered the job to be John’s exclusive speech therapist for his daughter. The more they got to know each other the closer they became until the past threatens to take over her life.

I absolutely loved this book and I’m so excited to read further into the series. Miss Koby writes beautiful stories that completely take a hold of you!

His First Lady by Avery Scott – Review by Susan Mowdy

His First LadyHis First Lady by Avery Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is one of those books that is my hidden pleasure. The politic books. I love them! not many people write them but they are the ones that are my one click!

This was written off a Presidential campaign but it wasn’t super angsty. It was sweet and easy to read and I read it in one sitting.

Michael is on the Presidential campaign race. He has been divorced twice and he persona is more of the ladies man than anything and that’s something that doesn’t work in his favor. His campaign manager needs to find someone to stand in for the First lady so that he can appeal to the public. Enter Kendall. She is a speech writer for his campaign. Their chemistry is off the charts but can they keep the public happy? Can they prove that this is real?

This was such an amazing written book. It’s light hearted and hooked me from the beginning. These kind of books are a guilty indulgence of mine and this was perfect!

Little Do You Know (Bayou Devils MC 5)Little Do You Know by A.M. Myers
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is one of those MC series that has quickly made it to the top of my list! I’ve become completely obsessed with this series. Each book gets better and better!

This story was definitely intense but none the less un-putdown-able. Noah and Kady have been sweethearts since they were in the 6th grade. As adults they were ready to get married and spend their life together but unfortunately Noah took the fall of a run he did with the MC that put him in prison for 7 very long years. During those years he never heard from Kady. Now he’s out and is on the hunt to find her but he was not expecting to see the hell she’s been through!

Each and every one of these books are such beautifully written. The stories are beautiful and unique. The series is the perfect binge read!

Im a LEGIT sucker for these kind of books!

Give me the nerds and the best friends and I’ll be instantly hooked!

There was nothing about this book I didn’t like and I’m legit dying for more from Miss. Sullivan!
I feel like Elliot is a Clark Kent. The nerd that no one looks at. He works out and is good looking but everyone oversees him. He has in mind the woman he wants to snag and she’ll be out of town for a month so he wants to be different when she gets back so he enlists his BFF and roommate Fe for help. She designs a program to help him out (an 8 step program) but it all goes to hell when one kiss happens and everything is up in the air.

This was the light hearted, funny, nerdy read I needed. This was the perfect weekend – escape – from – life – read everyone needs!

Grace has a journey she needs to go through. She needs to heal but some will let her go, some will betray her, and some will just love her. This book was the master to the end of this series. I don’t want to give anything away but its one of those books that needs be begin without the knowledge of what happened just so you can feel the journey.

This book and series were EVERYTHING. Everyone needs this soul shattering series in their life!

The Light at DawnThe Light at Dawn by K.L. Montgomery
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This. Book!

This story epically ruined me and that is something I have never said before. When an author and story can bring out the most raw emotions in you and ones you didn’t think you had, they deserve the 10+ star award.

This was one of those books that the first chapter consumed me and I knew life needed to be put on hold because there was no way I was coming up for air. I tried to slow down but I kept stopping what I was doing just to get wrapped up in the story again. I’m not going to sit here and give the deets because I feel this is one of those books people need to jump in blind and just grab on to that amazing rollercoaster it’ll take you on.

For the last couple of weeks, I’ve tried getting the words down to describe the heart breaking beauty I read but I can’t. All I can say is jump on this book! Everyone needs the shattering story in their life. This is one of those books that will stick with me for a good long time!

Rules of Engagement: A Single Dad Romance (Platonically Complicated book 3) by Mika Jolie – Review by Susan Mowdy

Rules of EngagementRules of Engagement by Mika Jolie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I am a full on suck for a single dad romance! I don’t know what makes me fall in love with them but they are the best and this doesn’t disappoint! This book was sweet friends to lovers romance that covered all the bases of everything I look for.

I loved Lucas. He didn’t want to give up the rights to his daughter so his BF, Kate, stood up, but quickly that muddled the feelings. His feelings turned to her but he was conflicted because he was burned before and he wasn’t sure he could trust again.

I’m always a sucker for the single parent romance probably because I’ve been there and even though I found my HEA, I thrive on books that have single parents because they always have a piece of me!

Shattered Love (Forever Us Series, #1) by Nivia Borell – Review by Susan Mowdy

Shattered LoveShattered Love by Nivia Borell
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This book 100% lives up to its title of Shattered Love. This is no easy, light hearted read but it’s raw and it’ll put your heart through the wringer.

Bria and Damien were childhood sweethearts. They thought they had their lives mapped out and it always included them being together. On Bria’s 18th birthday all of that shattered. Damien found her in bed with another man and she has no memory of it. No as adults, they are not whole. They are barely going through life. Can they make a mend or at least get closure to move on?

This book was written in several perspectives which I believe helped keep the story well balanced. I’m looking forward for more stories from Nivia Borell

Stepping It Up (The Liberty Lawrence Series #2)Stepping It Up by Bea Stevens
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What can I say, I fell madly in love with this series from the get go. Liberty is one of those characters that is completely relatable and you have no choice but to love her on site.

Her new job is a reporter and unfortunately its not all cracked up to what she thought. Chandler, the guy she’s supposed to shadow runs everywhere which prove to be rough on her shoes. Not only that, but he sneaks off without her. The girls in the office don’t necessarily like her plus she crushes on doesn’t seem to notice her.

These book are seriously addicting and completely relatable. I’m impatiently tapping my foot for book 3!

Best Foot Forward is the first in the Liberty Lawrence series by Bea Stevens. This was such a light – hearted, fun, enchanting, perfect binge read for the weekend book. I was completely captivated from the get go and was so excited to jump into book 2 next.

Liberty has to be one of my favorite Heroine’s. She loves her fashion but she has a clumsy side that us so easy to fall in love with. She is the junior manager at a London hotel where her boss’s office has had a theft. She’s quite positive she knows who it is but the hot as all get out detective doesn’t really care what she has to say about it.

There was not one thing I didn’t love about this book. Miss Stevens did a beautiful job setting up the building blocks for this series and I’m dying for more!

I loved Steel Archer! He’s one of those male characters that will do anything and everything for those he loves! Then we have Nicole Lancaster who is an FBI agent and used to men in the world of her work. The chemistry is intense between these two and the story is UN FREAKING BELIEVABLE!!!

This story is definitely dark and has its twists and turns. I love a book that keeps you guessing. These two had their work cut out for them but they’re story was phenomenal! Everyone needs this series!

The Monster's LoverThe Monster’s Lover by Samantha MacLeod
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I’ll be honest, This book took me by absolute surprise. I LOVED IT! Its the first book in the Fenris series and I’m ready to dive into more!

This book is based of the Norse myth of Fenrir which is a massive wolf. I love how Miss MacLeod spun mythology into her own story to make it her own. She has a way of hooking you from the very beginning and not let you up until the very end. Yes, the book is shorter than most BUT it’s jam packed with so much but I promise it won’t overwhelm you.

This book alone has intrigued me to read her other works and I went right ahead and one-clicked them. If your looking for something different then this book and beginning of a series is A MUST!

This is the second book in the Nite Fire series and I will say it has literally hooked me! Dahlia is back fighting crime protecting the humans of Sentinel City. The first book had me hooked but this one grabbed me even harder!

We received a whole lot of background with the first novel when it comes to the setting and the paranormal aspect and this book literally takes off and doesn’t give you a break. It gives you a good dose of reality and paranormal ALL within the same book.

I loved the twists and turns that was around every corner of this book. Dahlia was pushed to her edge but it didn’t stop her from solving the case. This is probably my fav paranormal book this year!

The Shape of Trust (Stand By Me, #5)The Shape of Trust by Brinda Berry

I absolutely LOVED this book. I kept turning the page hoping it would never end. The writing, storyline, and characters were flawless.

Lily is finally at a job that she enjoys plus it helps when you have a crush on the boss. As time goes on the chemistry between Lily and Webb (the boss) was undeniable but when things start to really get going for the couple, Webb finds himself with a daughter. His new priority is this little girl and things need to be pushed off with Lily.

I loved how heartfelt this book really was. You are able to really feel and understand the emotions of the characters. Such a beautiful story and I cannot wait for more!

The Way You Are (The Carolina Connections, #5)The Way You Are by Sylvie Stewart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have to say I have a slight obsession with Sylvie Stewart’s Carolina Connections series. They are the BEST laugh out loud books that have a whole ton of heart that I have read in a long time. Each one of these books can be read as a standalone but I HIGHLY suggest reading them all!

I loved Brett. He’s up for having a relationship but just can’t find the right woman to fill that spot so he takes up time by living the bachelor life and playing baseball. Liv is a die hard fan and is a loud one at that. Her heckling has made Brett turn his attention on her and the sparks flew BUT she has a boyfriend. Being friends is all he’ll get but the attraction is undeniable.

I loved the characters and the witty banter they have. This was a delicious and hilarious slow burn that everyone needs to read!

This is the first book I’ve read from C.L. Schneider and I was presently surprised on how much I loved it. This story will completely suck you in!

We meet Dahlia who was exiled from her drag world over 100 years ago. She’s a master at keeping her dragon identity a secret from the human race until. She moves around so people don’t start questioning why she doesn’t age. She loves her job in the crime field because she’s helping to keep the secret of her world.

I absolutely loved the storyline and all the surrounding characters. The book reads like a murder mystery but then the author has a way to completely build this world up and it kept me glues to the pages! Can’t wait for this next one!

They all gave me the perfect holiday read but I loved Allyson R Abbott and Tamara Ferguson stories the best. They have a way of sucking you into their stories and falling in love with their characters. I loved all the stories but these were the two that stuck out the most for me.

Highly recommend this anthology that have all sorts of hunky hero’s and beautiful HEAs.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book I have read from Susannah Nix and I was pleasantly surprised. Normally when we think of celebrity romance we think of something light and fun but this wasn’t it and I loved that!

I loved Alice! Miss Nix had a way of showing her strengths and weaknesses but even made her weaknesses seem like a strength. She did an amazing job on letting us in her head which was amazing because I felt like there was a subplot to this book (I don’t want to ruin it for you) and she did a masterful job showcasing it!

I also loved Griffin. We see a side of him as being a celebrity that we normally don’t in these types of romances. It’s the side that completely sucks that you’re in the lime light. Normally we see the glory, not the “annoyance” it can bring!

Beautiful story if your looking for something completely different!

Jordan just wanted someone to care and love in life and when Ben starts to pull away, she starts questioning it all. Surviving the Storm (Surviving Series Book 2)Surviving the Storm by Virginia Wine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have to say this series has hooked me from the very beginning. I loved the first book and I completely devoured this one.

I fell for Alex and Madison so hard so fast. Alex is completely swoon worthy and Madison is a fighter. She recently got out of a relationship with an abuser. The mental abuse she endured was completely heart breaking but she’s free and that’s all that matters. Even though she’s shaken off that ex, it’s hard to break the mental chains of the abuse. Alex fell for her instantly and would do whatever it took to keep her.

This book had everything. It had secrets, lies, a crazy ex and of course lust and love. This series is so different from what I’ve been reading and I love it. Virginia Wine has a way weaving a beautiful story that will hook you from page 1!

Surviving Eden (Surviving Series Book 1) by Virginia Wine – Review by Susan Mowdy

Surviving Eden (Surviving Series Book 1)Surviving Eden by Virginia Wine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is one of those books that the synopsis alone had me hooked. I always love a little taboo here and there so this was one I was ready to devour.

Both Theo and Eden are both suffering from loss. Both are clouded with grief and have a way of handling it different. Theo met grief early on in life while with Eden its fresh. Theo is a very well known psychiatrist and takes Eden on as a patient (she’s the daughter of one of his friends). Almost immediately he realizes this won’t be easy. They both have this pulse and electric energy between them that neither one can deny. I went into this book really thinking that the age difference was the taboo bit (13 years) but I think it’s more about the Doctor / patient aspect that’s more of the taboo.

The writing and flow of the story was beautifully done. There were things that surprised me and I love that it wasn’t predictable. I cannot wait to dive into book 2 and see where this series takes me!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love Jamie Schlosser books and this one might be there on top as my favorite of hers. She has a way of hooking you from the very first page.

I loved Theo and Hadley. We meet Theo who has the worst name in show business and is currently trying to get back in. He grew up in a reality tv show and is still very much in the public eye. He has this idea and needs Hadley to help him out. Hadley is America’s sweetheart after being the runner up on a talent competition and wants to stay in show business. They both need each other but for different reasons.

The connection between the two characters is instantaneous but it works for them. I felt like they were both a bit lost in life (for different reasons). Not only was the book light and funny but it had a load of heart too. Miss Schlosser has a way of bringing these characters alive and launching them straight to your heart! I love all her books and this one is a definite must read!

Eastern Shore Swingers Books 1-3 (Boxed Set)Eastern Shore Swingers Books 1-3 by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is hands down one of my all time favorite series. Each story will take you on a whirlwind of emotions but they lead you to the perfect ending.

Eastern Shore Swinger’s Club is the most popular swingers club in the mid Atlantic. If you are part of the lifestyle, this is the club you want to be in!

The one thing I loved about this series is how REAL the conflicts and emotions are. Yes, there are definite sexy times in the books but its so much more. The emotions and issues the characters face is something we all all face with our own relationships. I loved seeing how the characters faced their problems and coming out into their own in the swinging community.

Miss Alexander’s writing is superb! The stories she weaves are nothing less than perfect. Once you read book 1 you’ll be dying to start 2 and 3 right away!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It’s been a LONG time since I’ve read a book like this and it’s one I devoured.

Gideon the Earl of Standfeld was raised to be his father’s image. He’s very practical and exact. Lines are not blurred in his world so when his mother has a dream and begs to go back home to Scotland, he has no idea how his life is about to change and one highland beauty will catch his eye.

This book is the 7th book in the series but definitely can be read a standalone. I enjoyed the characters as well as the story intertwining with real historical events. Miss Wynne has a way of sucking you in with her story telling and not let you up until the end. I will be going back to book 1 in this series and I can’t wait to be sucked into each and every one of these stories!
