Maggie Armstrong grew up listening to her father Robert tell her wondrous tales of sixteenth century Scotland, of blood feuds and border raids. She memorized all the portraits from his collection dreaming about what that life would be like. Never would she have believed that her father was one of these infamous border reivers, not even when he told her his plan to go back to his old Scottish home with her by his side. Thinking that it’s just another archaeological dig, with flourish, she agrees to accompany him until she ends up four hundred and fifty years in the past. Now she is living through the old stories first hand, meeting family she only dreamed of, even seeing Will Foster, the man in one of the portraits she’s always been drawn to. Intrigue, treachery, and revenge abound when a quick betrothal, without her consent, causes Maggie to question everything. Will she even be able to get home?
I love reading books about this time period and I absolutely adore the accents!!! I could definitely feel the love and protectiveness that Robert has for his daughter and that Edward has towards both of them. I couldn’t help but put myself in Maggie’s place and think of what a culture shock it would be to end up 450 years in the past. Or what it would be like to meet your family from back then. I love the thought of meeting my ancestors in real life. It was interesting and unexpected! Funny and well paced, I could not put it down! I can’t wait to read the next book!!!!

This book was so fun to read! Theodore’s Ring is the perfect blend of excitement, suspense and humor, with unexpected twists and turns you never see coming. This book gets you emotionally invested with its vivid storytelling,relatable characters, and bold testaments of love. I also really liked seeing the similarities and differences of how both Cam and Sullivan treat Lydia. I recommend it to anyone who likes a really satisfying read.

This YA dystopian novel follows seventeen year old Kella O,Malley, her brother Huck,and their friends as they traverse the Appalachian trail, armed with CDC data that could be the world’s only hope against the “hyenas”. Mutated humans,caused by a pandemic that’s been quickly spreading, turning them into vicious cannibals.
OMG! This book had me up all night drinking plenty of coffee! (sorry Kella). I absolutely loved it! Kella is such a beautifully written character, I was rooting for her from page one. The sibling relationship between her and Huck is so genuine it made me think of my siblings and I. This is truly a YA book that everyone will love for its humor, sarcasm, wit, and relatable characters that you can’t help but fall in love with!

Focusing on 22 year old Jacek, one of the best warriors of the winged Hussars, a feared and deadly Polish cavalry. Jacek dedicates his life to the sword and shy’s away from anything that will distract him from getting the king’s recognition and the glory that comes with it. Stumbling upon a bloody raid Jacek forsakes his stoic personality and saves Two Muscovy siblings,Oliwia a 15 year old girl and her younger brother of 6 Filip. Their parents and village slaughtered and with no known family, they have nowhere else to go than with these men who consider their people enemies….
A wonderful work of historical fiction that was really well researched. I really love how detailed this book was. The battle scenes were so vivid I could picture everything so clearly in my mind. I found myself drifting into the 17th century and feeling what it would be like to live in that time. I also loved the development of the characters and their relationships through to the end. A great choice for a date with a book!

This book was awesome! Really well done! I enjoy reading about the dark side of religion, I find it fascinating. I got everything I wanted out of this book! Relatable characters, enthralling story, complete anxiety, and shock factor. I couldn’t finish this book fast enough. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for something gripping that will keep you up all night!

Amazing! The Web of Humanity grabs you and it wont let go! After her grandfather enlists her help, Anna Venue must go in search of answers to a family secret leading back to the final days of WW2. Traveling to Vienna, Paris, and Berlin every discovery leads to more questions and she finds herself amidst a political conspiracy.
This book was gripping! I love the historical accuracy of the book, it makes you think. It makes you question the psychological aspect of violence, war, and racism.. I also like how Maria Turchin shows the consequences of war through the eyes of someone still being affected by it generations later, it makes you realize that “history” wasn’t that long ago. It gives you a new perspective on what you were taught. It’s the kind of book that still affects you days after you finish it! I highly recommend reading it!

I feel so empowered after reading this book! I loved the tone and the strong emphasis on female strength and empowerment! Russell created such a detailed and emotional love story that it brought me to tears! I could really feel the emotions from the characters! I really felt like I was there with them. A must read!

I am obsessed with this series! Mckinley’s world is dangerous, twisted, and sexy! Set up perfectly so her characters can continue to grow. I can feel the emotions of every character with such detail and conviction. The yearning between Enzo and Sofia is so strong you could tell that they have loved each other their whole lives! I can’t wait to read more!
