Lela’s Choice by Jennifer Raines. I loved this contemporary romance. Its the story of Lela who has always taken care of other people but she has decided its her time and she is going to focus on herself. The only problem is her niece and her boyfriend have run off and if Lela doesn’t find them before her father does it will be bad. Hamish is a widowed International child protection attorney and he has been asked by Lela’s dad to find his granddaughter. Lela see Hamish as the enemy at first but as they work together she begins to see the good side of him. Hamish is very skittish because his wife was killed by a ex client’s husband and he doesn’t want to put Lela in that position. Will they decide to take a chance on love even if it means putting each other at risk? Will the find Lela’s niece in time or will it be too late? Read this amazing contemporary romance to find out!

Murky Murder (A Maid Ivy Cozy Mystery Book) by Hazel Smith. This is such a good, clean, cozy mystery! I really enjoyed this book and will be reading more by this author. Its set in London and Ivy is the maid at the LaFontaine Hotel and a big conference is in town. When she goes on a date with a new guy it goes great and everything seems to be working out but when a guest comes up murdered Ivy has to try and figure it out. Along with her 4 legged friends and some 2 legged friends they are digging into the mysterious letters that have begun arriving. This book is short and sweet and can be read as a standalone. I truly enjoy reading the books in order so that I get to know the characters better. This is such a fun mystery series and I can’t wait to read more!

Raining Fish and Frogs by Lois Wickstrom. This has become my favorite children’s author and I love all her books. This one is no different, it’s so good. Its the story of someone wanting fish for breakfast so they had to go fishing to try to catch some. Well there was no fish but while they were there a crazy storm came up. The water all got sucked up by the storm and it started raining. Once the rain began it was no ordinary rain, it was raining Fish and Frogs. All over the place. Then real rain came down and refilled the lake. I love these books because there is always a lesson involved and the pictures are always amazing. My nephews have loved every one of these books. They would make great presents. Its best for young elementary students!

Children of the Wild (Children of the Wild Series) by Krysta Tawlks. This is such a good fantasy, young adult read. Its the story of Elbert who lives on a farm in the early 20th century. Elbert thinks he’s just a normal teenager with a normal family until one day he begins to physically feel different. He gets a weird sensation on his chest and he begins to grow feathers. He begins to see the world differently and almost feels at one with nature. As Elbert goes thru his self discovery he struggles with self doubt and grief. While going thru this process he begins to really feel like himself and learns to be the real Elbert. There is magic, shape shifting, mythical themes and magical abilities. This is such a fun journey for young adults and even older adults!

Secrets at the Café: A Novel of Suspense about Family and Friendship by Susan Specht Oram. This author has quickly become one of my favorites. This is my favorite genre and I loved this story. Its the story of Karina who has promised her grandmother, Gigi that she will run her cafe when she passes. So Karina picks up and moves back home to take over Gigi’s Cafe. When she moves into her Gigi’s home she finds all kinds of secrets about her Gigi. She finds a diary that says there is a substantial amount of money to be found so when she misplaces the diary the whole town is looking for it. While Karina searches the house she finds all kinds of mysterious things. She finds secrets about everyone in town along the way. While trying to find the diary she questions everyone about it. Will she find the diary before the wrong person does? Read this fun mystery to find out!

Luna the Howling Husky Finds Her Howl by Samantha Shannon. This is the cutest story and the pictures are gorgeous. This story is such a good story about loving everyone and not judging anyone due to their looks, personality or ability to do things. Luna is a husky puppy and she loves being a puppy but she feels like she doesn’t fit in because she can’t howl yet. She tries and tries, practices daily and she just can’t get it. She feels like she is an outcast with her siblings. One day she finds a cat that accepts her just the way she is and she finally feels loved. While this friendship builds her confidence she begins to be able to learn to howl. Such a fun, lovely book that has beautiful pictures and lots of activities to do in the back. This would make a great gift for the beginning reader and for the younger ones as well.

Finding Your Heart by Nadia Han. I loved this journal so much that I bought one for each person in my circle group at church. Its the best journal I have found that covers a multitude of issues. If you are the type of person that doesn’t like to talk to others about your problems and keep everything inside this is the perfect journal for you. The pictures are beautiful and I enjoyed answering the questions inside. While this journal may have you getting out of your comfort zone it will be a great healing tool if you will let it. I lost a twin baby 25 years ago along with my dad completing suicide the same year. It was a very rough time and if I had this journal then it would have helped immensely. I still got a lot out of it and I enjoyed it very much!

Whispered Surrender (Sinful Duets Book 1) by Via Mari. I love anything by this author and anything Mafia so this was a book made in Heaven. I loved every second of it. The first story is Wayward about Sasha and Jay. I thought Sasha was a snot because she is a beautiful ballerina but when you really get to know her she’s not. Jay fell for her the minute he saw her but she only had eyes for her boss. How will Jay every get her to see him for the decent guy he is? Sasha is wrapped up in herself and Jay is doing security for the Mafia. Will the good guy win in this romance? The second story was Undercover and its the story of Matt and Marenah. Marenah is Sasha’s twin sister and is a lot nicer than Sasha. Many people are after Marenah to kill her. Matt and Marenah meet when the Chicago mafia kidnap them and meet back up in Russia. Marenah has a huge secret and she will do anything to keep it. Matt finally figures out who Marenah is and their chemistry is off the charts. He tries to dig as deep as he can to get to know her to find out her secret. Will he ever discover the truth and if he does will he feel about her the same way. These stories will keep you flipping pages until the very end. Amazing book!

Quick Affirmations for Children (Quick Affirmations Series) by Kim Ann & Yobe Qiu. This is such a awesome book for children aged 3-6. Life is so hard anymore especially for kids who have had to deal with this crazy world we live in. This is a book with affirmations starting with the ABC’s. Its easy for kids to understand and it lifts them up. My 5 year old nephew lived thru COVID and started school shortly after so he has a lot of anxiety. This book has helped him immensely. The pictures are vibrant and so cool, he loves it so much. It also promotes other learning tools such as vocabulary. The discussions at the end of each day is amazing. I loved this book so much I bought the Affirmations for Women! Such a great book for your child’s library and would make a great gift.

Be True with Me (Be with Me Series) by CA Miconi. This is such a good small town, second chance, holiday, interracial romance. Its the story of Lauren who was so hurt and embarrassed by her college boyfriend that she decided to run and change her identity so that no one could find her. Lauren was a foster care child so she reminded me of a scared rabbit. She had trust issues, self confidence issues and especially love issues. Lauren finds peace helping kids that have no one so she is finally happy. Jack never meant to hurt Lauren but when someone borrowed his phone and shared some pictures for his eyes only things were over with him and Lauren. He looked for her and tried to fix it but she was long gone. After 1o long years they meet up again to help some deserving kids have a Christmas like no other and they have to work together. Will those old feelings come back up or will they realize they were correct in splitting up. Read this sweet, short second chance romance to find out!

Grave Digger Academy III (Grave Digger Academy Series) by C.A. King. This is such a fun series and while it can be read as a standalone I think they will be enjoyed much more if read in order. Its the continuing story of Makayla who has returned to school for a third semester. The only problem is none of her friends or professors have shown up? Where are they and what could have happened to them. Makayla is now tasked in finding them. Makayla finds a few new friends while her other friends are missing and they help her look for everyone. Makayla is also learning more about her powers and how to use them. Such a fun series especially for younger readers but this old lady still loved it!

A Christmas Amish Courtship (Amish Courtship Series) by Jennifer Spredemann. I have loved this series and I really enjoyed this book. Its the perfect book to get you in the Christmas spirit. Its a clean Amish romance which I enjoyed as well. Its the story of Anne Eichner whose favorite time of the year is Christmas but she sure wishes she had someone to share it with. She loves everything about Christmas, the baking, the gifts, the snow but it just would be better if she had a special someone. When she receives a letter from a secret admirer she is smitten. She has been hurt badly in the past so would she be willing to take another chance on love. Andy Stoltzfus was engaged to Anne’s younger sister and when she dropped him like a hot potato he was hurt but realized he really was in love with Anne. She is strong, independent and just a very sweet woman who would be loyal to Andy and love him for all the right reasons. He decides to hatch a plan to win her over but when that plan backfires what will he do. Will they be able to find love again with each other. Read this awesome clean, romance to find out!

Its the story of Ben who has entered the baking contest 3 years in a row and came in second each time. He is determined to figure out a way to make a better recipe than before. He has to beat his friend Sofia because she has won 3 times in a row. This sweet book teaches, perseverance, patience and determination. The pictures are beautiful and there is a great recipe for biscuits as well. Would make a great gift for the child in your life!

Lois Wickstrom is our favorite children’s author. My nephews 5 and 10 love all of her books. This story is about Caspian asking his Grandfather for a bicycle for his unbirthday but Grandpa has to explain to him that whatever you ask for may not be exactly what you want because on your unbirthday its never the exact thing you ask for. When Caspian receives a box of baking up dust he figures he needs to bake a bicycle. Read this fun book to find out if Caspian really receives his bicycle! Such a great children’s book and would make a wonderful gift!

Arriving Home (Lake Juniper Series) by Chelsea Lauren. This is another holiday romance but this one is of the M/M genre. Its the story of Elijah who is a romance writer and very successful until his heart get shattered and he has the worse case of writers block he’s ever had. Elijah normally hates writers retreats and being social but thinks if he attends the retreat at the Enchanted Juniper Resort he may break through his block. Enter Austin who has just landed his perfect job of head chef at the resort and he is on cloud nine. He gets free rent plus beautiful scenery but the only problem is its mostly couples here and he gets very lonely especially since its the holidays. When he and Elijah meet sparks don’t fly but he and Austin hatch a plan because Elijah has no house so they agree to pretend to be a couple so he can stay with Austin until the end of the year. The only problem is love has no pretend clause. Feelings get involved and they become more than pretend. Will they be able to get past their past and make it work? Read this fun story to find out!

Christmas Cove by Sarah Dressler. This is the perfect little book to get you in the Christmas spirit. Its the story of America Greene who is a big city girl and she loves her job as editor. When she is sent to Christmas Cove on assignment and she expects to be drowning in Christmas cheer but what she finds is no Christmas Cheer. When Leo, the town mayor,convinces her to stay the instantly fall head over heels in love. (It is a little Hallmark movie like). While they plan to turn Christmas Cove into a real Christmas mecca she also plans to write the best piece her employer has ever seen so that her writing career can take off. I’m not a huge romance reader but his sweet book made me love the town of Christmas Cove and its people. I felt like I lived there. This book will be a good read to get you in the Holiday mood and even gives a little sizzle with the characters chemistry!

The Ocean in His Veins (The Ocean Series) by A.R. Hadley. In this book we meet Cal Prescott who lives in Florida and is 16. He is a lover of the ocean and most days can be found there. When he enters college he secretly fall in love and has a relationship with a professor. He was taught at a early age to control his emotions but the love between him and Jocelyn was very real. It lasted 4 years and then he had to move on. He had goals and he was determined to meet those goals. Cal continues to succeed in business and life but never really lets himself feel love again and really doesn’t know it he will. Being raised by a cool, aloof mom its made Cal the same way and he can come off as a jerk but deep down inside he just doesn’t know how to show his emotions. I loved getting to know Cal in this book and I can’t wait to read the next!

Where the Ocean Meets the Sky (The Ocean Series) by A.R. Hadley. When I started reading this series I wasn’t sure which book to start with so i just started reading and this is actually book 2 I believe but it didn’t matter because they are so good. This book deals with the untimely death of Annie Baxter’s brother. Annie is devastated and doesn’t really know what to do. She ultimately decides to go to Florida to work on her photography portfolio. When Annie attends a friends party she meets Cal and the only problem is he’s 45 and she’s 25 but regardless of their ages sparks fly. They are immediately drawn to one another and their lives are very similar to the point they can relate to each other. Annie is really an old soul due to all the trauma in her life. So the age difference doesn’t effect them at all. The lack of communication is the biggest problem between the 2 of them. This book was so well written that I felt like Cal and Annie were my friends. I loved this book!

Its the story of Senior Citizens Sisters Birdie & Oda Dean and their crazy adventures. Birdie is somewhat of a collector, well in reality she is a hoarder. She loves to go to garage sales and look in dumpsters for treasures. While dumpster diving one day she finds the body of a young lady she is friends with. Devastated she decides she will solve the murder faster than the authorities. While trying to solve this murder she ends up with more bodies on her hand. Between keeping her sister in line, finding treasures and even showing some interest in the new man at church does Birdie have time to solve these murders before more occur? Such a fun mystery that will keep you flipping the pages until the end.

This Egg Won’t Hatch by Lois Wickstrom. Another amazing book by Lois Wickstrom! I love her books because they are always entertaining and informative. This one is no different. Its the story of a Mama Warbler who is in the process of watching her eggs hatch. One is way to big to be a warbler and ends up being a cuckoo. The last egg won’t hatch because they are scared. The cuckoo keeps telling him to stay in his shell because its a big, bad, scary world out here. Finally Mama Warbler kicks the cuckoo out so that the timid chick can hatch. This book will help kids with anxiety and letting them know that things usually end up working out with time and patience. Such a fun book. Would make a great gift as well.

Joy’s Christmas Escape (The Marshal’s Mail Order Bride Book 1) by P. Creeden. I loved this book so much and can’t wait to read the next one. Its the story of Joy who has been pushed aside her whole life. Her dad died when she was really young and her mom left her with her grandmother so that she could run off and get married. When her grandmother dies she is worried because the loan shark is coming to collect. Joy finds out from her minster that her grandmother had planned for this all along and has set her up with a matchmaker in Denver. Jack has been dealt a crappy hand, his sister and brother in law in a horrible accident he comes into custody of his 4 year old twin niece and nephew. Knowing he needs help, he tries to hire a nanny but with no luck. He finally turns to a matchmaker and is matched with Joy. I loved this story and the holiday time line made it even sweeter.

Sea of Demons (Blood and Sand Book 5) by Heidi Stark. This is the 5th book in the Blood and Sand Book series and I highly recommend reading them in order. I did not and I was a little bit confused. Its a reverse harem with Devon being the female who seems to be living the dream. Devon has a crazy stalker and she knows that he is gone for now but will be back soon. She decides that she will take him down before he gets to her. Will they be able to get to Tane before he gets to her. I enjoyed this book very much but will go back and read the others. Its a fast paced read that will make you not want to put it down. It does have some trigger storylines so beware. This is a mafia/gang story with rough sex, violence and danger.

The Christmas Escape by Belinda Williams. This is such a fun Christmas love story. Its the story of Lizzie who has just lost her job and her apartment. This is right at Christmas too so when her best friends loser boyfriend doesn’t come thru on a vacation ticket Lizzie thinks “why not” so she goes with her girlfriend to Australia. While there she thinks she should have a fling with a hot guy, that might make her feel better. When she meets Jaz/Jasper who is enjoying the beach with his kids she thinks he is good looking. He would make a good fling. Jaz feels bad for her spending Christmas alone so he invites her over and the chemistry takes over. They both know this can’t be a long term relationship because she has to go home but when they both catch feelings what will they do? Read this fun Christmas time romance to find out! Such a fun romp!

Lottery of Secrets by Nadija Mujagic. I loved this book and can’t wait to read another by this author. Its a psychological thriller that will keep you turning pages late in the night. Its the story of Lynn who is terminally ill and in a very abusive marriage. She feels like her life is a sad and just wants it to end peacefully. When she wins the lottery she is determined not to let her husband know and she is for sure not going to share with him. She is going to leave him and find a way for her to live the rest of her life in peace. When a stalker starts to harass her she feels like she can’t trust anyone around her. This is not the peaceful ending she had in mind and she even hires a private investigator to find the stalker. Fast paced, mystery, lies and paranoia abound in this book. The only problem I had with it is I’m not a fan of open endings but all in all it was a great book!

We are back with Wilda Firestone who is a retired temporal agent and now runs an outfitters shop for time travel. She has a new hire that is driving her crazy but she has to train her. When a bomb goes off destroying her business as well as the time travel machine next door she knows she has to investigate. Why would someone be after her and why would they go so far as to destroy her livelihood? Wilda decides to travel back to the 1800s to locate the terrorists who have destroyed her business and hurt a lot of her friends. Not only is she fighting terrorists she has a new hire that she’s trying to train, things couldn’t be more dangerous. Will Wilda be able to navigate the 1800’s, find the terrorist and right their wrongs without effecting the present time? Read this fun filled time travel mystery to find out!

Themes of Kismet by A. Akinosho. This is such a good contemporary fiction love story. Its the story of Noah and Ebun and how true love will always find a way. Noah meets Ebun for the first time when he is 13 years old, in a book store, in the airport and he reads to her. Ebun was terribly upset and Noah calmed her down by reading to her. They had to part ways to go to their separate homes. Years late they meet again and Ebun feels like her life is falling apart. Her mom has passed and instead of living with her father he appoints a guardian for her. Late he passes and she is left with no one. Noah knows how to calm her and feel like she belongs but once again they have to separate. When they meet for a 3rd time they vow to not separate again. The Christmas Carousel (The Brass Ring Series Book 2) by K. L. Small. This is such an imaginative read for young kids. Its the 2nd book in The Brass Ring Series and it was so good. Its the continuing story of Rusty and his magic ring his grandpa gave him. The only problem is the Carousel is shut down for the winter. While at the mall with his mom he finds a Christmas Carousel and decides to ride all the different animals. The problem is the Carousel costs money and he doesn’t have any. He takes o the job of shoveling snow to earn money so that he can ride the Christmas Carousel and buy his families gifts. Each animal he rides teaches him something new about the meaning of Christmas. He learns how to budget his money so that he can do both things, ride the carousel and buy his family gifts. Such a good educational read that would make a great gift.

The Truth About Myths (The Winemakers Book 3) by Giovanna Siniscalchi. This is such a good Historical romance, I really enjoyed it. Its the story of Princess Isabel who is very rigid almost to the point of being a prude but when she goes to Spain with Viscount Henrique she is very enthralled by him. He is so sexy and everything she has tried to stay away from. Henrique is tasked with taking Isabel who is his best friends sister and he is not looking forward to it. He is known for being a rake and not being faithful but when he gets to know Isabel he thinks she might be able to change his ways. Isabel is so rigid and wants to do what is right for her country and Henrique is all about living life to the fullest. He does admire Isabel and the chemistry between them is remarkable. The author’s description of the beautiful scenery made me feel as if I was transported to Spain and Portugal. This can be read as a standalone as well.

Slay It With a Diamond (Diamond District Mystery Book 3) by Rob Bates. This is my first read by this author but it won’t be my last. It’s the 3rd book in the Diamond District series but can be read as a standalone. I really enjoyed it. Its a fast paced mystery that will have you flipping pages until you finish. Its the story of Max Rosen a diamond dealer in New York when he is offered to purchase a cursed diamond he buys it because he doesn’t believe in curses. When the wife of the jeweler who sole him the diamond ends up dead he has second thoughts about curses. Mimi is Max’s daughter and she’s an investigative journalist so she decides to investigate the death of the dealers wife. What she finds is a dangerous world of diamond dealings that is as cutthroat as it gets! Will Mimi come out of this investigation alive? She tends to be really impulsive and the danger she is dealing with is not to be handled lightly. Such a good fast paced mystery.

The Man in Black by L.R. Liverpool. I really enjoyed this Western Novel. It is a bit long so be prepared for that but the story is very good. Its the story of Fenimore who is leaving the life he’s always known behind to go and be an outlaw. He thinks its going to be like the books but what he finds is not that. He ends up joining the Red Evans Gang and becomes Simon Shaw. As members of the gang begin getting murdered he’s not to sure he made the right decision and debates going back home. He also discovers while he’s on the trail with the gang that he has feelings for one of his fellow members leaving him confused and frustrated. This book is very emotional and will rip your heart out in spots. Trying to find out who is trying to kill all the gang members and dealing with Simon’s feelings it gets to you in spots. This is a very good Western Romance with murder and mystery along with romance.
