Ladybugs for Loretta (Loretta’s Insects) by Lois Wickstrom. I loved this sweet book about Loretta who is a little girl who is very inquisitive and likes to check things out. She finds a bunch of ladybugs and decides that she is going to save them during the winter. Loretta and her mom decide to put them in the refrigerator so they can put them in their garden in the spring. The only problem with that is when they wake up they begin to make a huge mess in the house. They put them back in the fridge and wait until Spring then another problem occurs…they run out of room in the fridge. Finally its Spring and they can put them in their garden. This is such a fun, cute book and really informative as well. I didn’t realize all the stuff about Ladybugs that I learned in this book. Would make a great gift for the child in your life!

Amaleigha Loves a Good Story by Janice Pratt. I love these books so much. They are so cute! This one is about Amaleigha and how big her heart is and how she always thinks of others before herself. When she goes to the library and notices that the bilingual section doesn’t have many books she hatches a plan to change that. Getting help from others that are able to find more books she is able to change her library. This book shows kids of all ages that they can change things to if they really want to. Such a fun book with a great lesson. My 4 year old nephew loved it! This book will be great for gifts as well.

What Actually Happened to Isaac Moore by Samantha J. Rose. This is my first read by this author but I loved it. Its a true adventure book like I used to read when I was younger. I was sucked in as soon as I started reading and didn’t want to put it down until I was finished. Its the story of Isaac Moore who has grown up really poor so the only way to have fun is to have a great imagination. In Isaac’s mind he is a sailor and has been his whole life. He sails the seas and devotes his life to his mission. Isaac also finds stories his mom and grandma have read to him becoming part of his “real” life. He ends up being sucked into a world where there are monsters that are called snowman and worms that are huge. This is such a fun adventurous read that will take you on many journey’s. Kids and adults a like will enjoy this tale!

Where Do Pirates Go on Vacation? by Kim Ann. This is such a great book for kids. The story is so cute and my nephews age 4 and age 9 (even though he said he was too old for it) enjoyed it. Its a story about Pirates and where would they go on vacation. Cute story and great pictures. This is a cute series and the pictures are so colorful and fun. This would make a great gift for the little one in your life!

Knight In The Museum (Jorja Knight Private Investigator Mystery Series Book 5) by Alice Bienia. I have loved this series. I do think you will better enjoy it reading them in order they can be read as a standalone. This is Jorja Knight is a very good, very thorough investigator and when she is called to take on the death of a former police officer she jumps in with both feet. Getting into the investigation she finds all kinds of weird things, danger, ancient artifacts with curses and more dead bodies. The police are seemingly determined not to help her and ignore all the signs that this a case so she is convinced more than ever that they have something to do with it. Trying to solve this murder takes her into the victims cases and the last case he was working on which in turn causes her life to be in danger. Will Jorja be able to survive this case or even survive it?? Read this great murder mystery you won’t be disappointed!

When she finds out Thomas is still alive and held hostage at another manor she is deeply hurt by his lies but figures out how to pay his ransom and bring him home. Still in love with him Bella tries to trust Thomas but he still has so many secrets she just doesn’t know. Add to that Rob Brightley trying to court her making her all confused. Much Ado About Dying (Guardians of the PHAE Book 2) by Rowan Dillon. This is a fast paced read that picks up right after book 1 so its really best if you read it first. In this edition we follow the same group of people and Roisin and Qacha are in a hospital where Roisin is trying to heal people and Qacha is a patient. The problem is even with Roisin’s powers people are dying left and right and they can’t figure out why. When she tries to tap really deep into her powers and receives help from an Ancient Healing God she has opened up a very bad portal. With Ireland still reeling from the attacks and them not being able to heal people they are worried that they may be outnumbered this time. Will Roisin be able to heal people especially Qacha? With Joel being still held in Phae custody due to the bombing and Anna having ratted him out this may be the end. Read this fast paced read to see what happens. I can’t wait for the next installment.

Murder on Oak Street ( A South Shore Mystery Book 1) by I.M. Foster. I LOVED this book and can’t wait for the next one. Its the story of Daniel O’Halleran who is a coroner’s physician. He feels like no one takes him seriously and they are always pushing him to hurry up and push cases through. On top of not being super happy with his job his fiancee stood him up at the altar so he makes the hard decision to pack up and move on. He moves to Long Island from New York and accepts a coroner’s assistant position. The boss tells him not to expect anything like the amount of cases in New York here. His first case just happens to be one of is very first cases in New York that he had to hurry up and pass on and where his feeling that something was not right. Will Daniel be able to solve this old case and prove to himself especially that he was right all along. I loved this book and if you love mysteries you will too!

This book picks up 10 years after the first one and its a very long read so be prepared. The story is about a outbreak of after genetically modified food cause a mutation in the DNA of humans. These humans are called Genies and are lead by Balthazar and he’s evil. He and the Genies are trying to take over and have all the power but they are in for a fight. This is a fast paced dystopian, fantasy read that will keep you flipping pages late in the night. Great good vs evil story!

Faultless Love (The Bennetts of Langston Falls Book 1) by KG Fletcher. I love this author so I knew I was going to love this book. Its a steamy contemporary romance that I loved! This is the story of Ted and Robyn who have been high school sweethearts until the unthinkable happens. Ted is wrongly accused of a crime and spends time in Prison. Robyn swears she will wait for him but he begins to think she has forgotten him. When he gets out and moves back home he returns to his family Christmas Tree Farm and hopes not to run into Robyn. Robyn has moved on with her life and is in a relationship with someone else although not happily. When Robyn and Ted do run into each other they can tell the feelings are still there. The more time they spend together the more those feelings come back. Ted is scared though and is terrified to give her his heart again. Will they be able to get the love back they had taken away from them? Read this awesome book to find out!

The pictures are very colorful and pretty and the story itself is wonderful. Amaleigha has lots of ideas and she likes to share them with everyone. She especially loves everything about outside. The flowers, the grass, the insects and the seasons. Amaleigha is used to spreading her ideas with adults who will help her make them come true and when she has an idea to share about her love of nature she can’t wait for others to enjoy it. This book helps anyone to realize to always follow your dreams! Great gift for kids as well.

Super Enemies by Lois Wickstrom. This is such a great children’s book. The story is so true for most siblings. My brother and I fought to the death and are now super close and that is what this book reminded me of. Mira and Carl are brother and sister and they fight about everything. If Mira says its black Carl says its white and vice versa. Everything little thing turns into an argument from games they play to what they want to be when they grow up. They really enjoy trying to outdo one another and I’m sure most kids can relate if they have siblings. Great read for children!

I loved Lily who is fed up with the life she is living and moves from London to to Bluestone County to reopen her fathers Tool shop that has been closed. When she meets Jake in Bluestone County sparks fly between the two but he’s never met a woman as feisty as her. Jake is a rancher and is laid back about everything which drives Lily crazy so they butt heads at the beginning. He knows she drives him crazy but she’s all he can think about. Lily has sworn off guys because she constantly picks the wrong one. This is such a fun sweet contemporary romance. I think I fell in love with Jake and was sad when it was over. Do yourself a favor and read this fun romance!

I do recommend reading the first book before this one to better understand what is happening. Its the story of Tallie Brown who is strong and independent but when she sets out to help many people who have been kidnapped or drugged she realizes she may be in over her head. With Tallie realizing she could have had a whole different life if circumstances were different in her past is hard for her to swallow. Fast paced, full of action, crime, kidnapping and intrigue keeps you flipping pages late in the night. You will root for Tallie all through this book and the adventure it takes you on is fast paced and very interesting. Do yourself a favor and read the Tallie Brown Series today!

Gunner (A Hollins & Haring Book) by T.J. Beach. This is the 3rd book in the Holliins & Haring Series and I loved it just as much as the other two. This one can be read as a standalone but I really like to read them in order. This one is about the 2020 COVID pandemic and PTSD. The story is about Gary & Debbie. Debbie is Gary’s new boss in a Private Investigator’s office. Debbie and Gary have become super close even with the whole family so when Debbie’s mom contracts COVID they all have to quarantine together. During this time Debbie finds more and more out about Gary who seems so secretive. Matt is Debbie’s husband but he is forced to quarantine away from the family. When Gary finally gets comfortable he tells Debbie about some of his past and it is ALOT! Dealing with all kinds of trauma from his job and he thinks if he tells Debbie it will take her mind off of being worried about her mom and being away from her husband! This is a great story that will really hit home for a lot of people. I read it very fast.

Painter of the Damned (Painted Souls Book 2) by Rob Samborn. I loved this first book and this one was no different. I flew through the pages as fast as I possibly could. Its such a good thriller. Its the story of Nick and Julia O’Conner who are trying to make it back to the USA from a vacation from hell. They have been thru murders, arrests and all kinds of mayhem. They make it almost to the border when they are arrested. Julia is freed but Nick is charged with murder and sent back to Venice. Nick sends Julia to find Carlo to help her find an attorney for him but little does he know he’s sent Julia right to the enemies camp. Carlo is the new painter for the new order and he may be behind all the chaos. This book has flashbacks of Nick’s life and tells parts of the story. You need to really pay attention to know what’s going on and also I highly recommend reading the 1st book before this one. It makes it so much more enjoyable. Pick up a copy of this book and get ready for a high speed ride you won’t soon forget!

Kamana Wanalaya by Susan Renee. I loved this fun holiday read. Its the story of Tenley who has a podcast about relationships. Tenley gives practical advise and she’s often grumpy and cynical. Teagan is the “love guru” and thinks everyone deserves love. He goes on another podcast and calls Tenley out and tells her he will take her on a all expense paid vacation if she will have an open mind and fall in love. If she doesn’t fall in love he will donate $10,000 to her podcast. Win/Win situation right so of course she takes him up on it. While on the vacation they spend a lot of time together and there are laughs, tears and fun all around. I loved the chemistry between the two. They are like fire/ice in their personalities but they do well together too. Read this fun, laugh out loud romance with a little spice to start your holiday’s off on the right foot!

Shadow Patterns of Melt by J. R. P. Fogg. This is not my usual genre but I truly enjoyed it. Its a sci fi wild adventure that is a little hard to keep up if you are not used to the sci fi terms. Once you get used to the terms you are in for a fun ride. Its the story of Nalia and Bishr who are fighting the system to do what they want when they want. They have been busy transporting cargo and people across the the planets and they are doing great until they are tasked with taking care of another ship. The story is relevant even today with people not wanting to be told what to do and how to do it. There are even funny parts like the strange bugs they have. If you love sci fi and adventure then you need to read this fun fast paced adventure.

Its the story of Quinnlan Trinity who has been chosen to be given a second chance at life. When you are killed unjustly the gods and goddesses pick one person to have a second chance and this time they have chosen Quinnlan. The catch is he has to find a mate in 3 days or he will be sent back to purgatory forever. When he finds someone in trouble he uses his last chance to try and save someone. Risking his last chance at life will this person be worth it and will he be able to have a relationship with them? This is such a fun paranormal, romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat!

Malayeka (Heartstrings Book 3) by Brooke May. This has been such a fun series. They can be read as standalone but I’ve enjoyed reading them in order. This one is about Malayeka who is doing her cupid duties and she is trying hard not to screw this job up. She is trying to hook up Billie and Leo but their families hate each other and they aren’t took keen on one another. The cast of characters is wild, you have rednecks coming from out of the hills and you have a more refined family that is the main characters. Malayeka has such a good heart and tries so hard to do the right thing but people don’t always cooperate. This is a laugh out loud story that will keep you turning pages late in the night. I have loved this series and can’t wait for the next!

The Veil by Wanda Luthman. I will admit I was hesitant to read this story because I’m very into my faith but it was such a unusual, good telling of a bible story I’m so glad I read it. Its a quick read that centers around the tearing of the veil in the bible that no one witnessed. In this story it begins with Samuel who is turning 13 and they are celebrating with a Bar Mitzvah. After he turns 13 he goes and studies under the Priest and while doing so they both witness the tearing of the veil. This read will inspire you, amaze you and cause you to not put this book down until its finished. I loved the fact that at the end of the book there is a prayer where you can accept Jesus Christ as your Savior. Very different read and I’m so glad I took the time to read it.

Operation Blackbird (Brass Compass Series Book 2) by Ellen Butler. I love this series and this book was no different. I could not put it down. Its the story of Miriam a CIA operative during the Cold War. She has seen more than any one person should see and her dreams keep her awake at night. Trying to fight the KGB and be one step ahead of them at all times is a job in itself. Her mission this time is very dangerous and if she can succeed then she will save more than one life. She is trying to help a scientist deflect from Russia and to do that she may end up in more danger herself. This book is so full of history and spy stuff that I found so very interesting. You don’t know who to trust and there is danger around every corner. I can’t wait til the next book in this amazing series. Do yourself a favor and read it today.

When she is trying to recover she realizes that the most important thing on Earth is family. She wants to spend more time with her family and they want no part of it. She and her husband are growing apart and her kids have all moved on with their lives. When she meets Max a young man who has recently lost his wife to cancer they form a friendship and that friendship saves them both. Carina learns to function thru and after a worldwide pandemic. Can she put her life back together and find joy in the world again. Read this sweet book to find out!

Borrowed Time by Lane Cohen. This is such a fun read about time travel. It all starts when an advanced physics instructor and one of his students create a time machine. They hook up power source found by Samoset one of the the brightest students to the original Time Machine from the movie Time Machine and it actually works. The professor Andy Case and Samoset have two very different versions of where they want to go and what they want to do. Samoset wants to correct wrongs that were done years ago and Andy just wants to mend relationships. Andy fell in love with a married woman while he was married. He left his wife but she stayed with her husband. He was heartbroken. He lost his wife and his soul mate. Now of course as things go their travels don’t go as either one of them planned. They have several adventures and visit towns and times they never could have before. This is a fun, fast paced time travel story. Where would you go if you could travel in a time machine?

Its the story of the Express Investigations Detective Agency. 3 people in different times and places end up converging together due to life’s circumstances. Rose Donovan is swept off her feet by a man and ends up leaving with him against the advice of several people. He ends up moving her to California and selling her singing to the Mansfield Hotel. Francie Roubideaux is handed a hard life and ends up at a House of Pleasure but her singing saves her from worse things. She eventually finds her way to the Mansfield Hotel singing. Beau Hartwell is a up and coming attorney that seems to have it all but when he loses everything he finds himself in California with his friend at the Express Investigations Detective Agency and they all three come together during a crazy night. This read will keep you on the edge of your seat and leave you wanting more. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!

Rainbow’s Red Book of Poetry by Lily Lawson. This is a lovely book of poems. I had never read this authors work before but I was very pleased with this selection. I’m not a huge fan of poems but these truly touched my heart. They made me think, made me sad, made me laugh all the range of emotions. All of these inspirational poems made a impact on me and my favorite was Game over. It made me reflect on the people I have removed from my life and the ones I still need to remove. Some of these I had to read a couple of times to really grasp what it meant to me. Poetry is very beautiful and this book is a beautiful collection. This book would make a great gift for the Poetry loving person in your life.

Mis-Spelled (The Stellaluna Chronicles Book 1) by TH Leatherman. This is such a fun young adult story. I enjoyed it as an adult so I’m sure others would too. There is humor, goblins, elves and a fairy land, what more could you want in a story. Its the story of Evan who gets transported into another realm filled with fairy tale creatures. Its called Stellaluna and its a magic system. Evan has to figure out how to get around in this realm and more importantly how to get back home! Evan and his brothers are very different in their ways of trying to get out and Evan is determined not to use violence. Evan is very smart and will use his brain to get out of this mess. This book will have you fully immersed in the world of Stellaluna. You will love it!

The Kidnapping by Linda Burson. This is such a funny romantic suspense read. Its the story of Jenna and Andy. When Jenna meets Andy in a local bar they hit it off and soon a romance sparks. Jenna has not had good luck with guys because she has money and that’s usually all they want. Her last boyfriend wanted her to put his name on her bank account but thank God the red flags flew and she didn’t. Things with Andy are going pretty good and then someone leaves a envelope full of money and the instructions to kidnap someone. Andy tries to track the person down to tell them they have the wrong person but he can’t find them. What happens next is a crazy, fast paced thriller. This book will make you laugh, be scared and flip pages way in the night. I love this author and always enjoy her work!

Yesterday’s Over (Philly Heat Series Book 3) by Becky Flade. This has been one of my favorite series I’ve read this year and this book was no different. I loved it. Its the story of Trudy is a hard working, strong lady who is the Medical Examiner for the City of Philadelphia. She always is diligent and caring about her victims and does the very best for the families. When the city is rocked with a huge explosion Trudy is called out to search for the bones and she ends up calling in back up. She finds Ben who is an anthropologist and he sets out to help Trudy identify these bones. While working together they don’t hit it off automatically but as time goes by they become closer. While they are searching for clues as to who set off this bomb they are getting threats from someone that doesn’t want them to find out who committed this crime. This causes Trudy and Ben to end up in a very dangerous situation. Will they be able to solve this case and survive as well? Will they end up with a realtionship out of this tragedy. Read this great book to find out!

Dia’s Lure (Solstice Quartet Book 3) by Catherine Peace. This is a great series. I do think you need to read the first two books to get to know the characters and understand the story better. Its the continuing story of Dia who has been on the run for years. She has self isolated and has been keeping her self from friends and family. When she runs into someone from her past things turn very unclear. Carver is a journalist and Dia has said she will never forgive him for his past mistakes. When Milos and Carver become friends things get very tricky. Will Dia be able to let anyone get close to her? Will she be able to forgive the people that have wronged her? Once Dia is captured will she be able to escape? This is a fast paced paranormal romance that will keep you reading late into the night.
