I love how educational Oscar and Emmy’s books are. The book Oscar and Emmy Visit the Vet is a great book for young pet owners. It helps explain why it is important to visit the vet, not just when your pet is injured or sick but also as a preventative. The book is written in a way for children to understand. It also goes over behaviors the pets might have when visiting the vet- like being scared or anxious. It also explains what anesthesia is, which I thought was pretty cool. There are additional pages after the story for cat owners to learn more about the routines we learned about in the book. The illustrations are so bright and colorful, and capture Oscar and Emmy’s individual personalities.

What a cute story. I love that the children were involved in the trip to the vet. I also loved how Mom told the children that the cats go to the vet just as we go to the doctor. So many things were discussed and explained to the children So they felt like part of the visit. This is a must have if you have pets. It keeps the children informed, as well as comfortable with Dr.s. This author did a fantastic job with this story. It was fast paced and easy to follow.

This children’s book was so much more than just a family taking their cats to the vet! The author really took you along on what felt like a real and informative adventure to the vet’s office. It’s a great, realistic read for children and adults who may have concerns for their pets. It also leaves you with helpful information on caring for our purr friends. I found the illustrations very cute, and I enjoyed looking around at each page.

Oscar and Emmy Visit the Vet is an adorable picture book written by Terri Sabol. The story follows Oscar and Emmy, the cats, along with their humans: Abby, Charlie, and their mom. Terri does a wonderful job introducing children to different veterinary terms throughout the story as Oscar and Emmy are in for their check-ups. The end of the story concludes with some posters on cat care that would be useful for Abby, Charlie, or other children reading this story that may have cats of their own.

This time round Oscar and Emmy have to stay with grandma as the family is going on holiday , they’re actually quite fortunate to have her as a sitter and that that don’t have to go to a kitty hotel or a kennel 🥰 but there’s still a few things to take into consideration….
The term pet sitter is so well explained and it gives a good understanding of what it actually entails both for the sitter and the pet . Yes it’s fun to have furry friends but it’s a big responsibility and one needs to know what to do especially if there’s a need for medical care .. but rest assured Grandma , Oscar and Emmy has a good time and everyone is safe and loved 🥰🐾

Oscar and Emmy Visit the Vet by Terri Sabol. This is such a cute series about kids and their animals. In this addition they explain how animals really need to be taken care of in the sense that you should take them to the Vet for check ups and vaccinations just like we go to the Dr and get check ups. In this story we meet a Vet who is very kind and gentle and explains everything he does to their family cat as he does it. Oscar and Emmy are the cats in this story and they listen as their owners are taught how to feed them and how to look for certain illnesses. Such a sweet, informative book with great pictures and graphs that explain it all. My 6 year old nephew has loved everyone of these books!

My 7 year old son and I love reading the Oscar and Emmy series. We have read quite a few of them now. There are always some great lessons included in the cute story. This story is packed full of great information about cats and how to take care of them. It also has some great information about what vets do to help cats stay healthy. I love how at the end of each book, there is useful guides about cats and what to do with them.

I read this with my 7 year old and he liked learning about how cats can be nervous and unsure in new surroundings just like people can. We see what Oscar, Emmy and Grandma get up to while their family is gone. We also see something serious happen. What are grandma and the kitties wearing when the family comes back to pick up the kitties? Read to find out!
Oscar and Emmy get taking to the vet for a checkup, with their owners helping them through the visit each cat acts differently to the exam. I really enjoy these books I think they are great for children and engages them into having a dialogue about pet care. Another great book in this series.

Oscar and Emmy Visit the Vet is the fourth book in the Oscar and Emmy series by Terri Sabol. This was an interesting children’s story, not only with adorable illustrations- but with a valuable message about pet check-ups and the importance of preventative care- making sure your pet is healthy, and stays that way. We all know the importance of having a regular check-up at the doctors- and it’s no different when it comes to your pet. Regular vet checks ensure that they stay up to date with their vaccinations, dental care, and other health factors. This cute book goes over what you can expect at the veterinary clinic, and goes over a little of what the Vet will do during their examination. Touching on topics such as vaccinations, nail trimming, dental care, worming etc. Then at the back of the book the authors provide some helpful advice on how to brush your cat’s teeth, the symptoms of feline dental disease, how to trim your cat’s claws, cat vaccinations (the what and whys), and how to prevent furballs/hairballs in your cat.

My grandchildren love Oscar, Emmy, CJ, and Lara- and all the ‘adventures’ they get up to in this series- while learning some valuable lessons along the way. This time Oscar and Emmy go to stay at grandma’s house while their family goes on vacation. It takes them a little while to get used to being in a new environment, but they soon settle in and enjoy their new surroundings. What happens when a little mishap looks like it might put a dampener on their stay at grandmas? This is well worth the read to find out. It’s time for the family to go on a cruise and unfortunately, pets are not allowed. While most people might board their pets with a trusted pet sitter, Oscar and Emmy are able to go to Grandma’s for the week! They are not fond of the car ride and find themselves a little scared when first arriving at Grandma’s, but find that it’s not so bad and they have an enjoyable week!

I really enjoy reading this series about Oscar and Emmy!! In this book, they are going to the vet for their yearly checkups. Everything goes well and the family even learns some interesting facts about cats and dogs!
This would be a great book to read with littles before taking their furry friends to the vet for the first time. It will give them an overview of what happens at the vet and could help alleviate any anxieties they may have about their pet going to the doctor.

Very sweet, very informative book for kids. I love that the Oscar and Emmy books have a lesson in them for kids in regards to having a pet. The artwork is beautiful, so that draws in the eye. This book is educational about taking cats to the vet. It is written at a level that is simple to understand. It compares common human doctor visits to that of a visit to the vet. This comparing makes it even more understanding for young readers. The information provided is good to know for owning a pet cat. I love the way Sabol takes such an educational approach to pet ownership while also having such a great and relatable storyline for kids. In this installment in the series, Abby and Charlie need to take Oscar and Emmy to the vet for their yearly checkup. This story walks the readers all the way through a typical vet visit for a checkup while also talking about how pets may feel while at the vet. Again, I love the educational aspect of this story and the illustrations are phenomenal.

Born and raised in Texas, Terri developed a love of writing and storytelling at a young age, and always dreamed of one day becoming an author. In addition to her Oscar and Emmy series, Terri has also written several other books showing off her writing skills, including “Green With Envy” and “Kneading a Winning Idea”.
When she’s not writing, Terri can be found spending time with her two rescue kitties, Oscar and Emmy. She also loves travelling and exploring new places and visiting old favorites, all the while taking inspiration for her next book. Through her stories, Terri hopes to inspire children to explore the world around them, to embrace their imaginations, to never give up on their goals, and to always be kind and compassionate towards others, especially animals.

I loved this story about Rocky conquering his fear of the unknown to see his family. I related this so much as an adult with severe anxiety. This book is a great tool to discuss fears and insecurities in an age-appropriate way with beautiful illustrations.
Rocky is a raccoon who lives in the city, and today he has been invited to a family reunion at his grandmother’s house and he is a bit nervous.
He has never met the other members of his family and has no idea what it will be like, but he is still only young, so he heads out with the rest of his household.
As soon as they arrive Rocky is introduced to so many family members, he is never going to remember all of their names, so when they start playing games, he feels left out.
Will Rocky be able to find his voice and join in with the rest of his family, or will his nerves get the better of him in the end? This is a wonderful story which talks about growing up, family dynamics, emotions and how kindness and helping others can make a huge difference in their lives.

Quick read that packs some powerful messages for kids. After reading this story I can see how this book could be helpful for kids with anxiety and kids that have a hard time understanding their big emotions. Super helpful for parents too! Will be recommending this to my daughter-in-law for my grands.
