The Boss is book 1 in the Fire’s Edge series and it is also my first book by this author but it will not be my last!! I devoured this book in no time at all because i couldn’t put it down!
Holy hot dragon shifters batman! This book was great! I am a sucker for PNR and this one is no exception. The author did an amazing job with the story development and the world building. I felt like i was right there in the book. The characters are fantastic as well. This book had a little mystery, suspense and and a whole lot of steamy romance that made it an awesome read. I am looking forward to reading more by this author and i would recommend this book to a friend.

The Boss by Abigail Owen is a dragon shifter romance book. It is my first book like this and I found it to be really Interesting. I really enjoyed Delaneys strong and feisty personality. I loved how she actively pursued Finn even when he was fighting off his attractions and not wanting to just go with it. Overall I really liked the writing style and flow of the book. It was really easy to get lost in. All in all I would definitely read others by this author. 4 star rating.

The Boss (Fire's Edge, #1)The Boss by Abigail Owen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book I have read from this author and wow she blew me away. I love a good shifter story but this book exceeded all my expectations. I have read a few shifter books but I have never read about dragons and I’m so glad I did. I was hooked on this story right from the start. This is the first book of the Fire’s Edge series and I loved it. You can’t help but to fall in love with all of these wonderful characters. It only took me a couple of days to devour this amazing story.

Finn Conleth is the leader of the enforcers and they are not your average men. They all are dragon shifters. He is the boss and he leads his men like an army. Finn thought he found his mate along time ago but he was dead wrong. He can’t let no one get into his heart again until he meets the beautiful Delaney. There has been an outbreak on wildfires which they think is dragon related. Finn and his crew show up to a winery that is on fire and he saves this woman’s life. He feels a strong connection to her but he is not going to act on it. When Finn finds out that another dragon wants to claim Delaney as his he has no choice but to protect her at any cost. Will Finn be able to protect Delaney or will he bring her into more danger?

I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has it all romance, mystery, and suspense. You will fall in love with these characters right from the start. Finn is a beautiful man that has a lot of walls up. He is very cold hearted but the way he is with Delaney will make your heart melt. Delaney is beautiful woman that can bring the sass. She has a lot of questions to what is going on with her lately. These two characters have some steamy scenes that will make your temperature rise. This talented author will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. I can’t wait to see what this author will write for us next.

The Boss (Fire’s Edge #1)
By Abigail Owen
Rated 5 stars!!

Wowzer! Wow! Wow! I LoVe this story and did you see that cover?!! This book is outstanding! It has it all! Dragons( of course I had to mention them first), danger, love, fear, hate and a strong sassy woman. These dragons (all 10 of them) who work as enforcers are all very different. I loved learning about each of them. The colors, the shift, the man and beast. How can they be scary when they are so darn adorable! They all have different personalities but they have one thing in common…..they view each other as family.

Did I love Finn? YES! His story drew me in. I couldn’t get enough of him and his commanding voice. (Well he is the “Boss”. ) He has had a rough past and that is leading him to be cautious of any future. Delaney…..Delaney….Delaney! You are a favorite! It’s not too often i have a favorite girl. But Dang you are so sassy and strong! I love your attitude! You blended in so nicely with the guys..it was kinda fun to watch (read). When you stood on that mountain and said—-those “words” to Finn I was so proud of you and all that you have overcome. Simply wonderful!

My only issue (and it’s pretty tiny) is the traitor and the Rogue. Both of these were briefly touched upon but then really nothing else was mentioned. I am going to assume it’s for setting up one of the next books. Don’t let this deter you from this book. The story is still amazing because of the connections all the characters have with each other. On a side note I enjoyed meeting Lindi (Drake’s Sister) and her “boys”.

This is my first book by this author and it will not be the last! I am looking forward to (and can hardly wait)reading about all these dragon shifters in the future (hint hint). The writing flows so nicely. I made connections to this crew without even trying. Even though it’s a large cast I didn’t feel overwhelmed by meeting “the guys” all at once. That tells me how engaging the writing is. The story was different but yet something I am familiar with and the character development was very good. The characters have a nice structure among them. The fun and bantering is what makes a great book to read.
When is the next one??

I love finding into and falling Paranormal books that have a good taste of Romance. I had the ability of reading The Boss by Abigail Owens, and let’s just say that I can’t believe all that it offered me, as the reader.

I fell in love with the characters, as well as the story development. I couldn’t believe that the author was able to manage such a feat – building the world that she did, full of magic that was of it’s own kind. This was most definitely considered a 4 Star Book for me!

The boss is the first book I have read from Abigail Owen and I loved it. I absolutely love the world she created and it sucked me in!

Finn is the enforcer dragon shifter leader and has lived through terrible heartbreak of the death of his mate. He never wants to live through that again so he decides he won’t put himself in that position. Delaney has moved multiple times to escape her past but it always has a way to catch up to her. The moment Delaney and Finn meet sparks fly….literally!

This might be the beginning to my new favorite series. I love the writing and the world Miss Owen sucked me into. I’m dying to read book 2 because I’m COMPLETELY hooked!

The Boss (Fire's Edge, #1)The Boss by Abigail Owen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So. This book is nuts. It’s like riding in a roller coaster car but instead of it being on a track like any normal, sane person would ride on, the car starts at the top of a mountain. The prologue starts as your car tips over the side to see that the trail down is full of switchbacks and you realize pretty quickly into the first chapter that you’re going to be careening down each of those sharper than a pin turns at breakneck speed. Unless you put this book down (highly unlikely) and walk away for a moment to collect your thoughts, the story of Finn and Delaney gives you almost no room to recover from the whiplash of emotions and startling revelations.
Finn is a dragon enforcer, hot as fresh baked bread (and just as delicious), and he’s sealed his heart against the thought of finding a mate. New potential mates are found less and less every year, and the tragedy of what happened to the woman he thought was his mate is literally his own personal torture. I can’t blame him.
Delaney has weird fires starting up around her when she passes out and they’ve followed her. She also has lost loved ones in a tragic accident and has the added bonus of a stalker. Lovely. She has more strength than Finn has ever seen and she will not take the chance that one of these fires will hurt someone.
Finn is drawn to her but he’s concluded she’s just a normal human, right? RIGHT?!?
Also this is book one of a series. Score.

The Boss by Abigail Owen is splendidly written tale of dragon shifters. My first time reading this author’s work was entertaining and oh, so memorable. I didn’t expect to love it quite so much. What a beautiful discovery! These finds are what reinforces my love for words and the immeasurable pleasure I experience when I come across such talent.

Finn and Delaney wholeheartedly captivated me. Their story was intriguing, mysterious and full of sinister characters, loyal friends and a smoking hot couple. The way the book evolved, was very engaging and difficult to put down. I hung off every word, waiting for the next drama to unfold. The longer the story went, the more involved I became. It was stunning to read. It is a severe understatement to say this story was fantastic. It provided so much more than I could possibly put into words. I want to read it again. Immediately.

The Boss was everything and more. Abigail Owen penned a descriptively striking story that has left me with precious and beautiful memories. A favourable one click author to add to my library. 5 wonderfully well deserved stars.

The Boss by Abigail Owen is a paranormal story about Dragon shifters. I have to say that I love stories that have mythical creatures and even better when they are human/mythical creatures. This story is a fast pace read. If you start this story you will be pulled into the story and will be hard pressed to put it down until the very last word. Abigail Owen does an amazing job keeping the story moving but having a great amount of detail. Finn is a dragon shifter, who has only one mate for life. Finn has had his mate but has lost her and vows never to get so close to anyone else. Well then there is Delaney who is a spit fire. She is a woman who know what she wants and will go after it. She does have a great personality and Finn is trying to keep his distance. Will Delaney get Finn to lower his shield around his heart? I cannot wait to see what comes next.

This is the first book in the Fire’s Edge series and what a start, this is such a compelling story, Finn will break your heart, Dragon shifter stories are something I’ve avoided for a little while as I was getting over done with them, but Abigal Owen has brought a literal breath of fresh air and fire to the genre. Finn was a great character, you will feel his pain and then his confusion as if its your own. There were bits that could have been done a little better, but overall this was a great story. The Boss is an amazing opening to Abigail Owen’s Fire’s Edge series! It is the very first book I have read by this writer and I cannot wait for getting my hands on the next one in the series! I fell in love with her writing style from page one – with such few and selected words, she took me there, I could feel Finn’s pain and his heart turning into a stone.
The Boss is the story of enforcer dragon shifters team leader, THE BOSS, Finn Conleth and Delaney Hamilton who keeps starting those freaky fires! What a flaming nightmare, literally and figuratively! I love dragon stories and I loved how different Abigail Owen’s dragon world is, it is a totally different take on it – dragons who are firefighters! At the same time, why not? They will be putting out fires and keep the secret of dragons getting out!
I loved the characters, their romance and their struggle with their past, their kink … the action, the suspense, the fight between the dragons and the baddies and the fire … oh my, the fire! I am looking forward to picking up the next one in the series and I am sure the writer will bring even more heat as this is supposedly the prequel!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Boss was a great 5 star read and book 1 in the Fire’s Edge series.

Finn is the leader of a group of dragon shifters. We get a glimpse into a very heartbreaking scene with Finn that shows us why he’s against finding a new mate. But when he meets Delaney there is something that draws him in, the need to protect her.

Delaney has tried to flee her stalker and unexplained fires by moving across country. When another fire starts at the winery she is working on, she is terrified. There is something about Finn that she feels like she can finally open up to someone without feeling like she’s crazy.
Will Finn and the team understand? Can they help her?

When they find out who/what is really after Finn things take a twist.
There is so much more to this great read. Finn and Delaney end up giving into their attraction and it’s very steamy or should I say fire starting. There is danger, suspense, mystery, and so much more. I loved Delaney’s sassiness and strength. All of the secondary characters were great and the dragons sounded really hot and were just like a huge family. I can’t wait to read more from this series and I wouldn’t mind some more from Finn and Delaney as well.

This is my first read from Abigail Owen and I was pleasantly surprised. I was pulled right in and didn’t want to stop until I was done.

The Boss
By Abigail Owen
4 Stars

I know I’ve mentioned before that I love paranormal romances. Something about them just always sucks me in. But I have to say books about dragon shifters are high on my love to read list. The Boss by Abigail Owen totally fits that bill!

Finn Conleth is an enforcer dragon shifter. He has an iron set of rules that he lives by. He thought he had found his destined mate and when tragedy struck, Finn decided that his life as an enforcer would be enough and his team would be his family. He would never risk his heart again after it breaking before.

Delaney Hamilton’s life has been plagued. Where ever she lands destruction seems to follow and this latest tragedy is the last straw. Turning to a group of mysterious men who show up to help her she never expects to find someone who understands her pain. But Finn has vowed to never risk his heart again. Will he be able to keep that vow when someone else sets their sights on Delaney? Will Delaney be able to not only break through Finn’s shell but survive the process that will make her his mate?

Abigail Owen spins an enjoyable tale with the first book in this series. Finn and Delaney are both well-developed characters and the potential of the sub characters was great. Though the book was a bit choppy with some details, there was enough information for the reader to follow on. Hopefully, as the series progresses Ms. Owen will do a bit more world building. I enjoyed this book and felt that it kept a good pace and was easy to read. I am looking forward to more from Ms. Owen with this series. Can’t wait to see what comes next!

With Delaney, a woman who has mysterious fires following her wherever she moves to, shes found by Finn and his army when her current place goes up in flames.
As they all try to find answers to questions they have, they must also fight off an ex who is something they’ve never encountered before.
Can the man who has sworn off a mate, be persuaded?

The Boss written by Abigail Owen is the beginning to a great series. The characters were well written and the story was great it had push and pull to keep you guessing and wanting more. You knew something was coming but you didn’t know how bad it would be or the outcome. With Finn’s past he’s terrified to let anyone close especially women, definitely not a human woman. But then again he’s never met someone like Delany, the human who’s showing signs but doesn’t carry the mark. The dragon enforcers aren’t quite sure what to do with her but Finn knows he doesn’t want to let her go. I liked the ending it gives you closure but also the possibility of more, it could go either way. There is another story out :The Mate that I have not read yet but I want to now.

The Boss (Fire's Edge, #1)The Boss by Abigail Owen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the start of a new series of dragon shifters. This group of shifters is the “dragon version of enforcers. Police, judges, jury, and sometimes executioners, all rolled into one.”. Each dragon has it’s own distinct look and while some are not related by blood, they are all brothers and sisters by experience.

This is the story of the group’s alpha – Finn. He is “THE BOSS” of the group and is a serious guy. He’s been through some things that effected him in such a way that it changed his outlook on life.

Delaney is someone that trouble seems to follow. She has had some pretty wild experiences as she has grown up and she often wonders if this is really her life. She has settled in her new living space and has made a great friend when things start to change – again.

This story was enjoyable in that it had suspense and shifters and friends and romance and DRAGONS. The story had great world building and I look forward to reading the future of this series.

It was a quick and detailed read that I recommend.

The Boss (Fire's Edge, #1)The Boss by Abigail Owen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Boss by Abigail Owen is an unexpected but brilliant story.
Finn knows heartbreak. He knows the pain of loss. And he knows that it isn’t worth going through for a second time. Instead he has made his team of dragon enforces his family, that way he won’t have to risk anything again.
He definitely won’t have to risk finding his mate and putting her through the same process that killed his last mate.
But then he meets Delaney. Clueless Delaney who doesn’t understand why fires keep occurring around her. Who has had to rely on him and his team for protection. Finn is determined not to fall for her, not to put himself through the same again. But he might not have a choice in the matter when someone else steps up to claim her.

I was really excited to get stuck into this book and it certainly didn’t disappoint. I found this to be an interesting and unique story. I loved Finn. I thought it was really easy to become invested in his story and his emotions. Delaney, for me, was exactly right for him. I am hoping we get to see more from these enforcers in the future!

Fate dealt Finn a sad hand. A mate that wasn’t a true mate. Overcome with grief he became cold. Losing who he thought was his true mate made Finn an amazing leader and boss. Even through the pages he demanded respect. He was such a strong character. Delaney was super goofy too me. Not haha goofy but like things kept happening and she didn’t know how to react. I really enjoyed this story. Dragons are those creatures that you wish were real but also fear. The beautiful way the author described them and the power they commanded. A very well written story on second chances, trust and love. You can tell the difference between his first mate and Delaney. His need claim was different . He only hesitated because he had already killed one mate.

The Boss is the first exciting story in the Fire’s Edge series by Abigail Owen. If this book is anything to go by, this series is not only off to an amazing start, but is also set to be phenomenal. This is a dragon shifter story with a difference- it has its own original and unique spin on dragon shifters that makes this story stand apart from others in the same genre. This is a wonderful paranormal romance, that also has an action-packed, sexy and suspenseful story woven through it. The story pulled me in right from the beginning and I became completely invested in the characters and the outcome of their story. I couldn’t have put it down, even if I had wanted to- my need to find out how everything played out had me devouring the whole book in one afternoon- and I absolutely loved it!!! This may be my first read from Ms. Owen, but it most certainly won’t be my last, as I have already gone back to one-click more of her works for me to enjoy. I really can’t wait to see where this series goes and discover more about these brilliant characters!!
Delaney Hamilton has moved across the country hoping for a fresh start, finding a great job co-managing a beautiful vineyard/winery and a place to stay. But her hopes of leaving the past behind are shattered when the fires that were plaguing her in Vermont start up again. She contemplates moving again, but decides that she’s done running, as it didn’t seem to work, anyway. Waking up with a fire burning all around her is a scary and confusing situation to find herself in. and what she doesn’t realise is when the sexy firefighters arrive to douse the fire, her world as she knew it is about to change, forever!
Finn Conleth and his crew were working in the area when they get alerted to a fire burning at the winery. They arrive on scene to put out the flames but find so much more than they bargained for. Finn is haunted by a traumatic experience, losing his mate in the process. This hardened his heart and made him vow never to take another mate, as he couldn’t endure any more pain. He is the leader of the Huracán’s – who are a crack team Enforcers who tackle any trouble caused by dragons, especially fires. The last thing that Finn expects when they arrive at the latest fire is to find someone who not only threatens his heart, but who also sparks his protective nature. He knows there is much more to her story and what has been happening to her- and he’s determined to get to the bottom of it all. But danger is stalking Delaney which soon threatens everything he values. Will he get to the bottom of it all? Can he keep them all safe? Will Delaney help him regain the part of himself he’d lost all those years ago? What does the future hold for these two?
This story was so much more than what I was expecting- from the incredible storytelling and wonderfully written tale, to the complex and lovingly crafted characters, then there were more than a few heart-in-my-mouth moments that had me scrambling to get answers, as well as some incredibly sexy and smokin’ hot scenes that left sizzle marks on the pages- making this book everything I could ask for and more! It’s emotional, touching, romantic, sweet, and HOT- a ‘Must Read’!!
I highly recommend this book and Ms. Owen! I can’t wait to get my hands on the rest of this series!!!

Thank you, Ms. Owen!!

The Boss
By: Abigail Owen
5 out of 5 stars

The story The Boss by Abigail Owen is a paranormal romance book that I loved reading. I have always loved shifters and dragon shifters are right up there at the top. They are strong, passionate, and protective. This story drew me in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Finn Conleth and Delaney Hamilton. Finn is a dragon shifter that vows never to attempt to mate again. A tragedy in the past has made him guard his heart and he will not take that risk again. Then Finn meets Delaney. I like Finn as he is a strong leader. He has strong bonds with his team. It is sad to read about how the past haunts him. Delaney is an intelligent, strong, and independent woman. She also knows that she has failed to escape the freak/suspicious fires that had caused her to move across the country. She knows that she needs help. Even though they just met she has a strong feeling that she can trust Finn. Will he and his team of enforcers be able to stop the one who is starting the fires and keep Delaney safe? Finn and Delaney both feel an attraction towards each other. There is the warm feeling when they touch and there is sparks/electricity that flows between them. He is very protective of her. What they start is a casual hook up, a physical relationship. Will it stay that way? These two have a desire for one another and there is passion between them. What does the future hold for Finn and Delaney? Read this book to find out. This is a story that has action scenes and at times had me wondering what was going to happen next. It does a wonderful job of providing details about the dragon shifters and their culture. There are also many other characters that are introduced, and I enjoyed reading about their part in the story and their interactions with Finn and Delaney. This is an amazing story that I highly recommend reading.

I thought that The Boss was a really great read. This is the second Dragon Shifter book that I have read this week and I am really starting to enjoy them. I really enjoyed the authors writing style and her imagination really shone through in the story – I could imagine what I was reading and that always helps me as a reader especially with paranormal stories. I have to say that I was really drawn to the front cover and I don’t usually take much notice of them but this one I really liked.
As soon as I started reading this book I knew I was going to love it, I was pulled in straight away. I loved the main characters Finn and Delaney, they had both been hurt but I could tell there was something there between them. Finn tried his hardest to push Delaney away and I love her tenacity in that she wasn’t going to let that happen. I think that both characters had huge growth over the story which I liked as I felt like I was on the journey with them and I really got to know them.
I am definitely looking forward to reading more from this author and the rest of this series in the future. It was a great 4 star read!

This is a paranormal story that has just a little bit of everything in it from action to hot steamy romance. This book pulled me in right from the beginning and kept me engaged until the end. Delaney and Finn are characters that are attracted to each other from the start. They made me feel as if I was right there with them. One is running from love and the other is running from her past. Will Finn save her and finally give in to fate? A great start to a new series! I highly recommend this book
