Ian Troy has gone through so much already with book one! Now he has to go even further to help out his friends! There is trial and error with his magic as his scars increase with learning more truth. This one is still fully packed with great adventures and drama. How far will he go? Take a shot, but make sure to read the first book to follow this one!

This was a great follow-up to Crown of Stones: Magic Price, for sure! Beginning a few years after the first book ends starts with Ian in prison with no memories. The twists and turns going throughout the story as Ian tries to finish work from the first book and regain his memory are paced really well. They make the book unpredictable but still enjoyable. Little bits of history, compassion, friendship, battles, and sneaking around keep the story moving forward. And, for those interested, some pretty intense sex scenes, as well. I look forward to reading the next one!

A different experience for Ian Troy in this second book of The Crown of Stones Series! Ian Troy has been captured by King Draken and drugged. Ian must figure out a way out of the prison he’s been held in and find a way to keep his friends safe! This book is a bit darker than the first book in the series. The interaction between Ian and his friends seem a bit strained. They find ways to work through the friendships. Overall I really enjoyed this second book and felt connected to Ian Troy with the struggles he endured. It was even harder to set the book down to get stuff done around the house.

I highly highly suggest reading the first book first, as this does pick up where book one left off. Just when I thought this series couldn’t get any better, the second book blows it out of the water. Ian is literally left with nothing. No memories, no money, no weapons, nothing. He has to go through his light trying to figure out how to with his magic all over again, how he is linked to the crown of stones, and how to be a leader all over again. High expectations are set on Ian when the rebellion needs him and his magic and his connection to the crown of stones. In this thrilling second installment of Crown of Stones, be prepared to have an adventure because this second book sure takes you for a wild ride!

This book was absolutely fantastic! The story arc, the background story in the beginning, character development, so many good things I can’t decide where to start first. I usually read female protagonists because they are more relatable for me, but wow reading about Ian and his struggles made me think of my own. This author absolutely hit it out of the park. Ian struggles with who he is and what his power does to him if he uses it. He makes a decision in which he thought was right at the time, but now is paying for it dearly. Will he come to accept his magic and what it does? Or will he fall into the addiction it brings and never look back again?

This is book two and honestly, I couldn’t have enjoyed it anymore then the first one. It starts off right away with not even remembering what was going on. And when troy finally starts to remember, he try’s very hard to put it all together. The author wrote this incredible book of kings, fighters, magic, betrayal, war, evil, and so much more that I could not put it down and just had to read to know what was going to happen to our wonderful characters. Magic users in this book use to be the ones that ruled, but people got scared and so they feared the Shinree and tried to do anything to control them, including drugging them. This book kept me reading and, on my seat, the whole time. But so did the first book in this amazing trilogy. Can’t wait to read book three to know what will happen. Great book, recommend.

Ian Troy has been captured, tortured, and drugged. The king and his father are at the center of him forgetting who he is and what all he has done. After he’s rescued and presumed dead by the latter, he slowly comes back to himself and what he finds isn’t to his liking. He has to come to terms with the things that he has done and also what has been done to him in order to find the power within himself to thwart the king and his father’s evil plans. Can he find his friends and keep them safe before they can be used against him? Can he find out how to harness the power of the crown of stones before his father?
This is a pretty intense book. Ian does some really awful things. Granted, some of them are not completely his fault, but he still has to pay the price of them. I feel like the author did a good job of walking him through coming to terms with who he is and what he’s done. He had to make some hard choices and pay for them. In a world where everyone seems to be out for themselves, Ian Troy seems to always be thinking of others more than himself. Thankfully, he has loyal friends that stick with him through the horror and violence.
Just so other readers know, there are several scenes that are explicit.

Ian Troy has been enslaved for being a magic user. But, before that he was a soldier. Great story full of twists, you never know what will happen next. Can’t wait to read the entire series.
The book is set a couple years after the first book in the trilogy. Since it has been a year since I read the previous book, I was a little worried I would be lost but the way the author slipped in past events made it very easy to follow and remember what had happened.
After Troy was defeated, he was thrown into prison for 2 years. Constantly being drugged to suppress his magic. When he finally comes to, he is lost. Lost in more ways than one. He has no idea where he is, who he is, who he was, nothing.
As time goes on, Ian starts remembering, including names of people who have done him wrong. He tries to figure out who he once was and his ties to the crown. All while trying to put things back together before the reign of Draken of Langor.
I have been in love with this author since I read the first book in this trilogy last year. I really enjoy this author’s writing. They are very focused and show a lot of attention and care with everything they write. Each character comes to life and the writing style in all of their books makes you lose yourself in the fantasy world. This book was no different. I enjoyed this book a little more than the first as it was more dark and twisted. I would highly recommend this book and anything else this author writes!

This book is one heck of an adventure. I found that the adventure just grabs you from the beginning. Troy is still my favorite character. He’s trying to adjust from being out of prison and finds himself fighting a war. Non-stop action, great dialogue, intriguing characters all make for a winner. This is book 2 of the series and I’m looking forward to reading book 3.

As good as the first book, if not better! Action-packed, fantasy, magic, drama, suspense. This author has wonderful world building skills and has created one of the most original series I have read yet. I was hooked at every word and on the edge of my seat. Do yourself a favour and pick up this series!
