Magic-Scars (The Crown of Stones, #2)Magic-Scars by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Crown of Stones: Magic-Scars by C.L Schneider is a book about continuing the journey through the war-torn planet of Mirra’kelan once more. Explore the historic Shinree Empire to learn the truth about its tragic past and watch how Ian Troy’s struggles to save the world.

After being imprisoned, Ian Troy struggles to reconcile the person he previously was with the person the jail forced him into. He is terrified as he enters this new world. After his fall, those he looked for met their own sad ends, leaving friends in danger and dispersed. Draken of Langor, an old foe, has taken over Mirra’kelan and proclaimed himself High King. Ian is now a part of the desperate uprising that has been ignited by Draken’s cruel rule. His sole assignment was to locate and fix the Crown of Stones in the hopes that it would tip the scales in their ongoing revolution.

The magic-scars all over Ian’s body grow more quickly as he tries to reclaim what was lost. He discovers horrifying mysteries that have been hidden for many generations beneath the sand as a result of his search for a reason and the truth about his connection to the Crown of Stones. Ian needs to claim his magical inheritance in order to become the weapon the resistance needs. Can he, however, control the destructive need that comes with it?

Every page was exciting and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. It is a unique dark fantasy trilogy. The story really brings passion into your life. I couldn’t put the book down. I have binge read the series at this point and will continue on book three.
