The Frontman was the first book that i have read by this author and i thought it was an interesting murder mystery. I was pulled in from page one and i had that edge of my seat feeling throughout alot of the book. A legendary Artist Kerry Vance is killed under mysterious circumstances and his friend Avery is determined to find out what really happened with death. We set off from here to hopefully find out what happened to Kerry but more and more questions pop up and we have some major and mysterious twists that come into the light.
Overall i enjoyed this book and i liked following the mystery until the very end. I am looking forward to reading more by this author soon! I would recommend this to anyone that likes a good mystery!

When an ageing rock star dies on tour, is it suicide or is there other forces working?

The book opens with the death of Kerry Vance a veteran Rock Star who is found believing he has overdosed on heroin, but when a stranger comes forward to protest to his family that they believe it was foul play that’s when the story gets interesting.

This is the first book by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed the mystery thriller aspect of the story. The main characters are great and complement each other brilliantly, although there are alot of secondary characters which enhances the story excellently. As the story flows through the main story there are little stories that’s been well written and developed which has you engrossed until the last word.

I would recommend this story to anyone who loves a good mystery which is unique and a page turning. Can’t wait to read more books by this author.

The Frontman by Lawrence Parlier a rhythmic four-star read. This is my first read by this author and it wont be my last, there was something about the mystery that just kept you hooked, I don’t know what to say as I don’t want to spill anything about this. There are great characters in this story, strong people who keep the story going and even though the story is about Rockstar Kerry Vance but he isn’t the only one we hear about and I think that was what made this story complete. Do pick this up if you are in the mood for a good mystery with great pacing and sublime characters.

This book starts with us finding out that Kerry Vance has died in his hotel room of an overdose while on tour in England, this news is a shock to the system of his family, his best friend, a mystery from his past and those who know him through his music.

We start the book off a member of his family spilling orange juice all over the floor in shock and having to reign themselves in from emotionally collapsing until their daughter leaves for school.
Next we see his best friend amidst a horrendous hangover trying to take in the news, they are rudely awoken from a stupor by their other best friend, who seems determined to finish off what the alcohol, anger, devastation and drugs had started the night before. From their point of view, what the news has reported about Kerry’s death isn’t all adding up and that it was not in Kerry’s’ character to go the way he did but is determined to somehow get to the truth of the matter.

Finally we meet a long time friend of Kerry who is also hit hard by the news of his death and is desperately trying to come to terms with the news when a mysterious package from Kerry himself arrives. As they remember their time with him, they are confused as to why they have received this package and eventually pluck up the courage to open the box and read the letter addressed to them. The contents of this are a shock to the system as is the realisation why Kerry has sent it and the strange request within it.

The story continues as this request is followed to the letter, but what with trying to both stay out of trouble and cause it all at the same time, whether it can be done is another thing completely.

There are plot twists and turns in this story and nothing is as it seems throughout. It is a non-stop whirlwind that keeps your emotions on edge and a need to know how it will end, will keep you reading.

I was pleasantly surprised by the twists and turns that The Frontman took. Reading the blurb, I knew it was about the death of Kerry Vance. Kerry is the lead singer of band going on tour. His death is what you come to expect of those leading the rock star life…drug overdose in a hotel. However, those that really knew Kerry aren’t believing what they are being told. Enter Calliope, a woman from Kerry’s past, to start helping those in Kerry’s life find out what really happened.

There were so many twists in this story. Each person who plays a role in this book has a connection to Kerry…but what happens when paths start crossing and everyone’s little pieces of Kerry’s story begin to reveal the bigger picture. This is a story of loss and love…but also self-discovery and healing. I found myself pulled into the story from the beginning, wanting to know what really happened. I liked some characters while despising others. I was also surprised at the link between people and the roles they played in Kerry’s life. All together, a good story that is definitely worth a read.

This book was so much more than I bargained for!
The characters were amazing, even the bad guy’s! The events surrounding Avery, Kerry, and Calliope were described in such detail it made me forget that this isn’t a real story, almost like those moments that make you think this is too weird to make up, haha. The friendships that were formed, strengthened, and torn apart had me reeling.
I really enjoyed how this story was told, as each person had their own chance to tell their side to the story, and it came together very well, very few questions not answered in some way or another. There was a lot packed in this one book, by the end I couldn’t put the book down, my emotions were off the charts and some parts were a bit closer to home than I would have liked, but Lawrence executed the delivery spectacularly!
I will have to keep my eye out on this author, I can’t wait to see what comes next.

The Frontman by Lawrence Parlier was a great 5 star read.
I was pulled in right from the beginning and couldn’t put it down until I was done.

We start the story with the death of a legendary artist Kerry Vance. He passed away shortly after the first show of his latest tour. Kerry’s friend Avery doesn’t believe that it was a suicide and is determined to found out the truth behind his death.

Avery meets Calliope who is looking for his help. Will Avery help her? Can they find out what really happened to Kerry?

Overall I really enjoyed this read. There were all sorts of unexpected twists and turns. All of the characters added a great element to the story. This is my first read from this author and I loved it. He pulled me right in with his writing. I love the fact that he is a musician himself so he has a lot of great insight to the Rock n’ Roll world. I look forward to reading more from him. The news of his death was pretty shocking to most of his fans. But his friends and Family are not convinced it was an accident. What happens when a Mysterious woman shows up ? Will they get to the bottom of this? You guys this is a must read . I don’t want to give anything away but read it for yourself you won’t regret it I promise . The Frontman by Lawrence Parlier, did not sound like a title that I was expecting much from. It just sounded kind of plain. Boy was I surprised. This is such an awesome book. On so many levels. The scenario in the book is unique, the characters are all marvelous, and there are many. Each one is so well described that they are firmly set in your memory, you feel like you know these people. Another very intriguing thing about this story is there are several stories going on and they all come together in the end. Romance, and who doesn’t like a little romance, without the icky factor, regret, forgiveness. This book has it all. This book is awesome and I just can’t say enough good things about it without sounding redundant. Read this book! I am hoping there is another book in the works, the way this story reads I think that could be a very real possibility. I would sure like to see Calliope and Harry figure things out.

The Frontman is a great crime thriller by Lawrence Parlier. This is an author I had never read before so was very unsure what to expect from this book. What I got was a great thriller with a fantastic story line that kept me gripped from beginning to end.
Following the death of music legend Kerry Vance, some of his friends and family are far from convinced that he died of a heroin overdose as the media are saying and embark on a literal journey to discover how he really died and to give him the send-off that he really wanted.
There is quite a large cast of characters who play a large role in this book and I have to admit to getting confused a few times as just to who each person was. There are 2 main characters, in my opinion, both of whom are fantastic characters and are probably my favourite characters in the book and those are Avery and Calliope.
Calliope is such a strange character but she takes absolutely no crap from anyone and is one of the feistiest women I’ve ever read. I adored reading about her.
This is a crime thriller with a difference. Although you find out the truth about Kerry’s death long before the end of the book, the story is far from over and the remainder of this story is so far from what I would have expected.
I may not have read this author before, I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to read them again. A great read.

The Frontman is quite a suspenseful and intriguing read by Lawrence Parlier. I was drawn to it as soon as I saw it pop up on my recommended book feed. I love a great mystery, so I was excited to begin. The story is really cleverly woven with more than a few surprises along the way- there is definitely more to this book than first meets the eye- and much more than I had expected. While this may be my first book by Lawrence Parlier, it certainly won’t be my last.
Kerry Vance, metal legend, shot to fame as the frontman for “Zephyr” before embarking on a highly successful solo career. His army of fans eagerly await his Blood and Honor tour- only to have their idol die just as the tour is set to begin- bringing heartbreak and confusion to the rock world. His family and friends are left devastated, completely shocked by his death. So, when a mysterious woman arrives claiming that his death was definitely not accidental- things get quite intriguing. Was there more to Kerry’s death than they were led to believe? It’s well worth the read to find out.
Looking forward to reading more from Mr. Parlier…

Thank you, Lawrence Parlier!

Kerry Vance is a famous singer in a band. He has suffered with a drug problem for years and when he turns up dead from a herion overdose the natural conclusion was that this was suicide or accidental death by overdose. But how wrong they are.

Kerry’s friend Avery doesn’t believe that it was an overdose, he believes something more sinister was happening and he sets out to find out what actually happened.

When Calliope, a lady from Kerry’s past shows up with a package asking for Avery’s help it starts an adventure to find the truth about what really happened to their friend.

There are so many characters in this story but they are all linked through Kerry Vance. All there stories when put together build a picture of the man he was. All the twists and turns keep you guessing every step of the way.
So the question remains. Was it suicide or something more sinister.

The family is turned inside out trying to figure out what exactly lead Kerry to his demise. Was it an accident like they want to believe or was it really something much more sinister. Who is this lady to Kerry and how will his fans reaction to his death play into finding out what really happened. This is such a good read and I love mysteries so it was a fun, fast paced read.

I am a sucker for murder mystery and thriller crime reads so when I saw The Frontman and read the blurb I knew I had to know how this story turned out. I have never read Lawrence Parlier prior so I was a bit blind going in and didn’t know what to expect as far as how this writer tells stories. This one was a hit though and I was enthralled with the story. I will for sure be checking out his other titles soon.

In The Frontman we get the story of Kerry, a now deceased music legend. He dies at the beginning of his latest tour and people are starting to question if things were accidental or if there is fowl play. A woman comes from the woodworks and begins to tell his family this was for sure not an accident and that there is more to things than what it looks like. They make the decision to start trying to figure out what really happened and if justice needs to be served.
