My first time reading anything by this author definitely did not disappoint! I was sucked in almost immediately by this prequel. A quick easy read that kept me wanting more! I hate cliffhangers but knowing this is a prequel I was prepared for it, and I absolutely cannot wait to read more of “Jack” and “Nolan’s” story! Jack and Nolan meet in a dive bar, somewhere Jack doesn’t look like she belongs. Things turn hot fast and neither seems to want to deny or admit what they are feeling, after all it was only supposed to be one night. I will definitely be preordering the first book in the series and reading all her previous books!

I loved Night Hawke! It is a second generation Hawke family prequel, I haven’t read the 1st generation Hawke family series yet, but it’s next on my list while I wait for the next book in this series to come out. Gwyn McNamee hooked me on the first page of the book and I didn’t put it down until I finished it! If you are looking for a good steamy read this is for you! This is a 5 star from me!

This is the first book I have read by Gwyn McNamee, but it won’t be my last. This little novella was just right. Mysterious, audacious, and cheeky. The character development was intriguing. The story kept me enthralled. What do you do when you realize that one night just isn’t enough?

This book is the prequel to the series. I could not put this book down and can’t wait to read more of the series. I don’t often read novellas because I feel like it ends just as I get into it but I’m glad I made an exception!

One night, no names. Should be an easy agreement, until it’s not. This book did not disappoint with the hotness. The characters are well written, it’s steamy, what more could you want. I am really looking forward to reading more.

This story kind of kind of felt like a modern Cinderella. We had the wicked stepmother and not only 1 prince, but 3. Stella is just trying to make her life work. It falls apart but she does falls into a dreamy situation. I found this to be an okay story. It’s very steamy. The story was good. I do love it when bad boys get their comeuppance and the good girl wins her dreams. Her struggle is real and the story does a wonderful job of showing it. It’s a good romance for those that love reverse harem romances.

The only thing that kept this from getting five solid stars was the fact that it ended way too soon. There is a LOT of steamy hot sex in this book, but I was definitely drawn to the internal monologue that was being had by both of the Main Characters. I am truly intrigued as to WHO “Jack” really is. The things divulged in this Novella are both intriguing and leave you wanting to know oh so much more. I cannot wait for this spinoff from McNamee’s original series.

Holy Moly!! Talk about hot!! If I was able to give 10 stars…. I would in a heartbeat! This is a prequel to the Hawke Family Second Generation Series, and I definitely recommend reading! It’s a super quick read but let me tell you….it is an attention grabber from the first paragraph! I truly couldn’t put this book down…. the book had me thinking…. Christian Grey who! I’m not going to give away anything from the book, but dang…there’s a LOT of spicy! You want to talk about secrets, romance, plenty of emotion, and of course hot as hell spice! This was an extremely entertaining book and I sat down and read this in one sitting and was beyond prepared for the next book! And let’s talk about the way the author leaves us on a cliffhanger?! All I have to say is that I’m ready for the next book, and I 100% recommend this book…especially if you’re into hot romances with a little bit of mystery! Happy Reading!

Night Hawke by Gwyn Mcnamee was a fantastic, spicy, quick introduction to book number 1 in the second generation Hawke family series. If you have read the first generation series about the Hawke family you read the books about the characters parents, which is an amazing series, and definitely a worthwhile read. Night Hawke is about Issac Hawke and a mystery girl that he meets in a bar and the instant lust and attraction that they experience. They agree to one night of fun, anonymous, with no names, and agree to leave each other in the morning. What could be better, right? I read this book in about an hour or so but it definitely has me on the hook waiting for book number one in this series to be released.

“Jack” and “Nolan” meet at a bar, like most people do. They both expect a fun time to help them forget their real responsibilities and roles in life. Turns out, that’s impossible. In this short story, you follow two very enticing characters through their 2 days together. I can’t wait to read the next book, which continues this short story. Read this if you like steamy scenes, amazing detail, and character development.

What a great prequel! This book makes me so excited to read the series. This was a quick read that packed a punch with great chemistry between Jack and Isaac, and a weekend full of steamy moments. I have no doubt that the second generation of Hawke’s will be just as good as the first. This author has a way of pulling you into the story line and keeping you entertained. This book leaves you on a cliffhanger wanting more. This is a must read.

Super quick read but my gosh did it grab my attention from the first paragraph! I simply could NOT put this book down. I’m not writing any spoilers but just know the SPICE is 🔥 for being a short read the connection between the two main characters was incredible! There’s secrets, there’s romance, there’s angst, there hot as hell spice! I loved it all. I fell in love with the characters so damn fast that I need more! I read this in one sitting and when it ended, I screamed. Because I didn’t want the story to end lol. And that cliffhanger? My goodness. I can’t wait to read the next book!! I hadn’t read anything from Gwyn McNamee before, but I am *extremely* glad I picked this up. I was entranced from the first chapter and couldn’t get enough of this story! I couldn’t believe such a short read could have me so involved with the characters. The author did an outstanding job with this, and I have already picked up another collection of hers as soon as I finished this one. Night Hawke definitely has plenty of heat in it, pick it up and give this incredible author a read!

By: Gwyn McNamee

This is my first book by Gwyn McNamee and it most certainly will not be my last. This was an incredibly steamy romance that, like the characters, left me wanting more. Isaac and Jack were written with such depth and intrigue that I truly enjoyed them. This was definitely one of the best books I have ever read. I will caution that this book is incredibly steamy. I loved that about it though. This is the prequel to the Hawke Family series, however it definitely stands alone. I have not read a single book in this series and I was able to follow it all without being the least bit confused.

I was not ready when I started this book! So far this is the second title I’ve read from this author-the first was book 1 in the Hawke Collection and I’m hooked-and it was one I didn’t want to put down! This is a steamy story about the heir to the Hawke throne-and his sexually explicit adventures prior to stepping into his new role. He meets an incredible woman why he just wants to physically enjoy…but isn’t it like attraction to every once in awhile give us the time of our lives with an unexpected love connection? This author takes to put on a ride from his point of view and it is wild! I won’t give it away but you’ve got to read to see what happens to this inseparable pair!

Night Hawke is a short novella but is by no means lacking in intrigue and steam.
I was hooked from the very beginning of the first page and couldn’t put it down!
The novella was an easy read which contained perfectly crafted characters. I found myself wishing to know more about them all and found them to be very well written. The author’s style of writing throughout flowed nicely, and when descriptions were made, I was able to picture myself there as if seeing it for myself.
This novella is the prequel to the second series of the Hawke Family and was my introduction to this author. I am anxious to read the next books as this one certainly left me wanting more! Luckily, I’ll be able to read the 1st series of the Hawke Family while I wait for the next book(s) following this prequel to be released.

Completing and graduating from Law School means that it is time to step into his role in the Hawke empire. But he just wanted to have a night of fun before the real business began. He had two rules that both parties had to abide by: No Names. No Expectations.
But things never seem to go as planned. No amount of time will be enough with her. Not even a lifetime is enough.

To say that this story is sizzling hot is an understatement. I haven’t even read the Hawke Family first generation but if it’s anything like this one, I’ll read everything I can about this family. “Nolan” is smouldering hot. He’s good looking, smart and fit. He knows what he wants and he’s not afraid to go get it. He’s dominant at all the right times. He can melt your panties just by looking at you. “Jack” is sexy and sassy. She’s every man’s wet dream. The fiery redhead with a body to die for. When these two get together, the chemistry is electrifying.

It was supposed to be a one night stand which turned into a weekend. Both realized that they had a deeper connection. The rules that they agreed upon were no names and no expectations. Can they abide by the rules or will their feelings take over? This book left me breathless. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Spicy!! This is a great introduction to Issac and Jack. I love that you could tell the feelings Issac was developing for Jack and over just a short amount of time. They seem to have this sort of connection. It seemed like by the end Issac may have been willing to delay his duties to his family to be with Jack a little longer, but Jack, I was wondering so much what her family was all about and why she was under such heavy security. I can’t wait to get into this series!

~ A Hawke Empire Story ~

I’m not typically one to read romance novellas. But this definitely has me hooked. Jack and Nolan are two very unique and strong characters. They both have character development that just begs to be read and continued.

The story is about a young lawyer, or soon to be lawyer, who is about to take the bar and return to his family’s empire to set into his role with them. He meets a young woman who’s a complete mystery. Needless to say sparks ignite.

I picked this up and read it in just under 3 hours. Super easy to get through and honestly you just won’t be able to put it down. I’m getting the first book ASAP!

This short book is a prequel to Isaac and Jack’s story.

Isaac and Jack are two strangers at a bar who can’t keep their eyes off each other. Some flirty banter leads to them deciding on one-night with no real names. Isaac will be leaving the city soon since he just finished law school and Jack has an overprotective family who will be looking for her by sunrise. So…one night it is.

However, one night turns into two when these two have chemistry that explodes off of the pages. But, when Isaac wakes up that second morning, Jack is gone and only a note left in her place. When he races out of the hotel to find her…he is more confused on who she is and how he will find her again.

This book was a quick read that I finished really fast. The story was fast paced and H-O-T hot! Definitely has me wondering exactly what is going on with Jack and if these two will find a way to make it work. I will definitely be checking out the next story!

Night Hawke (The Hawke Family Second Generation #0.5)Night Hawke by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Isaac Hawke has just graduated from law school and is out for one night of fun before heading into his role in the Hawke family’s business empire. When he makes eye contact across the room with a stunning redhead, he feels an instant attraction. From the way she is looking at him the attraction seems to be mutual. Both Isaac and the mysterious redhead agree to spend one night together but the rule is that they cannot exchange real names.

Both Isaac (“Nolan”) and “Jack” were running from their families, for different reasons, and each needed a way to escape from the realities of their worlds. Falling into each others’ arms, while assuming different names, made that escape a possibility. Neither went into it with any sort of expectation and they fully intended to walk away afterwards with no-strings attached.

“Jack”, as the mysterious redhead calls herself, turns out to be someone that “Nolan” (Isaac) cannot get enough of, and he finds that he does not want their time together to end. He decides to ask “Jack” for her real name in the morning but when he wakes up, she is gone. Now with no real name to go by, Isaac fears that he will never be able to find this mysterious and sexy redhead that he cannot imagine being without.

This book was steamy from the first few pages and became sizzling hot as it went along. The chemistry between Isaac and “Jack” was intense, and full of raw passion. It ended on a bit of a cliff-hanger, and I cannot wait to read more in the series.

I’ve heard good things about the first series, but I haven’t picked up any books from it. I decided to check out this prequel to get a feel for what the second generation series might be like.

What I liked: The writing is well done, the story is easy to follow, and the author writes good steamy scenes.

What could have been better: The story gave me nothing to connect to the characters. You get very little backstory outside of some vague statements. I knew it was going to have some steam from the blurb, but I really expected more story line than there was. Even though the story ends on a cliffhanger, it didn’t make me want to grab the first book in the series to find out anything more.

Conclusion: If you want to read a ton of steam, this is the book for it. I feel like I would have appreciated this story more if I had already read the book this is leading up to and had made a deeper connection to the characters.
