I always love finding new authors. See what their imagination can come up with. This is the first time I am reading work from Luciana Cavallaro and I am hooked. It’s a real page turner, kept me reading non stop and loved all the twists and turns.I also love reading about Greek mythology, so I really enjoyed the author’s take on it. I didn’t realize this was the second book of the series though so I’m definitely going to go back to read the first one. I recommend reading.

The Labyrinthine Journey (Servant of the Gods, #2)The Labyrinthine Journey by Luciana Cavallaro

This is a new fictional take on how Christianity overtook Mythology and how Zeus wants to stop this from happening. In this series, Zeus tries to stop this by bringing Even (his son) from the future to collect three sacred relics that will save the Gods and stop the new Messiah. Though this can be read as a standalone, I recommend reading the whole series to fully understand everything. This second installment is cram packed with adventure as Even tries to locate the relics to save the Gods and himself. We also get to see more of who his fellow companions are as their personalities come out throughout their travels.

Luciana Cavallaro has such a wonderful way of sharing historical, architectural, and mythological information while keeping you engaged in the story. I find it fascinating to see what time was like back in the sixth century BCE. I’m off to read book three and see what happens with Even and the crew.

The Labyrinthine Journey is book 2 of the Servant of Gods series by Luciana Cavallaro. I did not read the first book but I was still able to follow along. The author provides ample background for the reader to catch up. This story has amazing world-building with wonderfully written characters. The descriptions are incredible. The story takes place in Ancient Greece, where we have Evan continuing to try to save the Olympian Gods from the God of Christianity. Evan receives a lot of help along the way and gains tons of respect along the way. I really enjoyed this story. It gives a lot of help in understanding the background of religion and the role we play to the gods.

The Labyrinthine Journey (Servant of the Gods, #2)The Labyrinthine Journey by Luciana Cavallaro
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Evan is a man out of time, or at least, out of his time, his father, the god Zeus has taken him from his home in the twenty first century and everything he knows and thrown him back in time into ancient Greece where he learns who he is and why he has to go on the mission which Zeus has commanded him to undertake. Now he has begun to acclimate to his new surroundings, he and his travelling companions set out to see an Oracle, who has the answer to where the relics he has been tasked to find are located, but as he has found out on the journey so far, nothing is plain sailing and everything takes much longer than planned.

As they leave for the next stage of their journey, the obstacles between them and their destination become apparent and they are not all of a natural nature, some are mythical and some are human, but they all litter the path with peril and they appear out of nowhere just when the group start to feel safe again. However, as Evan learns more about this time and their mission, as well as the Gods they are trying to save, he realises that not all of the threats are strange, some of them come from his blood relations themselves, but as they progress through the dangers and obstacles in their path, will they be able to overcome them?

Will Evan and his companions be able to find the Oracle and learn their next destination before the danger becomes life threatening? This is a historical fiction where the Gods demand help from their children, so that they can carry on their existence and with plenty of twists and turns throughout, this epic fantasy will keep you guessing all the way to the end.

The Labyrinthine Journey (Servant of the Gods, #2)The Labyrinthine Journey by Luciana Cavallaro
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is book two in the “Servant of the Gods” series and once again follows Evan, a 21st century architect, who finds himself transported back to Ancient Greece and thrust upon a quest to save the Gods. Evan, who has already found one relic, must continue his quest to locate the second relic to prevent the extinction of the Greek Gods. During this quest he must face inconceivable dangers including mythical creatures, warriors, and sorcery. While trying to face the fact that Zues is his father and trying to uncover just what role he must play in the success of this mortal battle. Can Evan find the second relic and move one step closer to returning to his 21st century life?

I absolutely have fallen in love with this author’s writing style and the fact that she brings you up to speed with what happened in the first book in case you haven’t read it yet or it’s been a while and need a refresher. This can be read as a standalone book but after reading this review I hope you’ll go pick up the first book first and follow Evan on his journey from the very beginning. It is well worth it in my opinion as this series has quickly become a favorite of mine.

The book The Labyrinthine Journey by Luciana Cavallaro was an exciting and entertaining read. I was definitely entertained by this book, since I read the third book first! So, I had a sense of what was going on, and let me tell you…. this book is just as entertaining as the third book. It is a story that pulled me in from the beginning and kept me entertained until the final page. This book that has action, danger, and Greek Mythology. I loved reading about the character of Evan and seeing how his character was portrayed in this book. He has been ripped from everything he knows in the 21st century and now is having to live a new life in ancient Greece. His father is Zeus and Evan is having to figure out how he is going to get back to the 21st Century. Evan finds out that he is going to have to go on a quest to find ancient relics in hopes that they will help him on his journey back home. Evan finds himself facing many trials and tribulations! All I can say is this book is a must read in order to find out if Evan is successful in his journey or not! Happy Reading!

Evan is stuck in the past from the 21st century, trapped in a world so different and alien by the Greek God Zeus so that he could recover two powerful relics of the Mother Goddess in order to save the Olympian gods from extinction. I like how Evan accidentally lets modern things slip like mentioning Harry Potter’s invisibility cloak. It makes the story humourous and keeps the reader turning the page. This story is packed full of adventure and a novel you will surely love!

The Labyrinthine Journey (Servant of the Gods, #2)The Labyrinthine Journey by Luciana Cavallaro

This is an enjoyable and entertaining mix of history, fantasy and Greek mythology, which kept me hooked throughout. Having been ripped from his twenty first century life, Evan now finds himself in ancient Greece, fearing that he will never see his home again. For Evan to have a chance of returning home, he needs to collect god-saving sacred relics for his father Zeus. However, locating these relics will not be easy, he will have to brave perilous seas and face death in search of a legendary oracle. During their voyage Evan, along with his companions come across mythical creatures, fabled warriors, and treacherous sorcery. Evan must complete his difficult quest or both he and the gods will be lost to history, but the most deadliest threat may be bound to Evan by blood. Full of drama and suspense this fast paced and action packed epic kept me gripped, I loved the characters and thought Evan was a great hero of the story. I enjoyed the mythic battles, and the unique mythical creatures that Evan encountered. The plot twists kept me happily turning the pages, and the descriptive narrative brought the settings vividly to life.

I found this to be a well-researched and written story about ancient Greece laced with history and mythology. This was a well-paced story that immediately hooks you into the story and I couldn’t put it down. As a lover of Greek Mythology, I found this to be a wonderful story. I jumped into book 2 without reading book 1, but the story was detailed enough I was able to follow along, but I will be reading book 1 so I can get the full effect. I thought the character development was fantastic and Evan is definitely a hero favorite of mine. I can’t wait to read book 3 to see how the journey continues and what adventures our heroes will find.

The Labyrinthine Journey (Servant of the Gods, #2)The Labyrinthine Journey by Luciana Cavallaro
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Once again Luciana’s passion has given us an engaging and unique story born of mythology. There is a seamless transition for readers from book one (which finished on a cliff-hanger) to this one as Luciana recaps details. The Labyrinthine Journey is another original and lovingly crafted tale from Luciana. It is woven with ancient Greek mythology giving the story much more realistic depth. This cleverly constructed fantasy tale will captivate you and make you feel like you are the one on this time travel adventure.
Danger is high when Evan finds himself transported from current times back into ancient Greece in mythical times. On a quest to save the Gods Evan and his Atlanteans friends find things don’t go the way they should as they are thwarted by those opposed to the god’s survival.
With a whole host of characters, mythological creatures and beings, gods and monsters this vividly rich and well-crafted and complexly woven tale draws in and is only limited by your imagination.
If you like mythology and fantasy tales where the characters are believable characters then this series is for you. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

The Labyrinthine Journey (Servant of the Gods, #2)The Labyrinthine Journey by Luciana Cavallaro

Book 2 of the trilogy is quite exciting. That naughty Zeus is at it just doing what he wants to get what he wants. Evan is thrown into the story and gets deep into the drama as he and the others are looking for the sacred articles to save the Gods. Are the Gods selfish much? This was an entertaining story as it gives an interesting perspective at what the Gods would do to survive a threat to their lives. I found the Gods to be quite full of themselves. The other characters were well-developed. They each played a very important role in the story. Evan is probably the most relatable character. His struggle is so real (from the modern world. Sleep disorder? Tumor?) This is where I came into this trilogy and I’m looking forward to reading book 1 to see how it began. It’s a fascinating book in the historical fiction genre.

This book is a incredible book with authentic culture, vivid settings, ancient history, fantasy, and mythology. It took me on a quest round ancient Greece and surroundings while saving Olympian gods from being destroyed by the one god of Christianity. The characters in this book were absolutely amazing, Evan was a strong-willed leader that really made this book wonderful to read. Evan being from the 21 century, has to figure out what needs to be done when he gets transported to ancient times. This book was incredible, I absolutely loved it, and couldn’t put it down. I will say I did not read the first book to this series, but it was still easy to follow and understand that I did not feel lost, but I will be going back and reading the first one.

My heart is still racing from the adrenal rush from this story. One of my favorite topics is Mythology. I love the gods, demi-gods, and the history around them. Luciana Cavallaro is a mastermind. She has created worlds for her characters to come to life. The absorbent amount of details paint a vivid picture that one can see. There is everything you would expect in a historical fantasy story: adventure, action, gods, mythology, drama, prophecy and relics. Her characters fly off the page which makes the story all around awesome. Evan is in the 21st Century world. He was taken to Ancient Greece. He needs to complete some tasks for his father Zeus. That is how he will return to the 21st Century. Will Evan complete his tasks? Will he survive the journey? I highly recommend reading this heart pumping story to find out the answers to these questions and many more adventures that are within the pages of this book.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second of The Servant of the Gods series, where the protagonist Evan, who is time travelled back in time has a mission to retrieve the second relic which is instrumental in wiping away the Greek Gods. It is about Evan’s journey to retrieve the relic with few of his companions and the high priestess. They encounter lot of dangers on their way and finally in the Labyrinth they have to face the fiercest of the beasts, the Minotaur.
I had not the read the first book, but nevertheless, the second book gripped me right from the first page. I love Greek mythology and I enjoyed reading each and every page of this book. Many familiar characters and names pop up in different parts of the book, the Greek Gods (major and minor), the Greek heroes (Jason, Herakles), mythical creatures like Harpies, minotaur, priestesses and queens and also the Titans.
It is very gripping novel and you can never even slip a page lest you miss a finer detail. It also moves back and forth in time, back to ancient Greece and forward to the 21st Century where Evan actually belongs. It is full of twists and turns. I enjoyed reading this book thoroughly. I am planning to read all the sequels. A great read !

The Labyrinthine Journey (Servant of the Gods, #2)The Labyrinthine Journey by Luciana Cavallaro
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“The Labyrinthine Journey” was an interesting read. The most notable feature of this book, to me, is that it is an intense, high-action book. It is often hard to find a “good stopping point” for the night, due to the constant action (which let’s face it… no one is complaining about that). In the beginning, I was little lost since I did not read the first book in this series prior to this one. However, I will say the author did a good job “filling-in the blanks” as the story progressed. Given this, once I got into the flow of the story, I easily saw how this can be a stand-alone book. I originally suspected this to be a Percy Jackson twist, but to my surprise, it had a very unique plot to the reason for collecting the god-saving relics which Evan (the main character) was seeking. I have never been great at history, but from what I remember, it seems the author is well-learned on topics involving Ancient Greece and Greek mythology. I would recommend this book to any historical fiction fan.

The Labyrinthine Journey by Luciana Cavallaro is the second book in the Servant of the Gods series. This is a really interesting story with historical fiction, Gods and Goddesses, and a man from the 21st century on a quest to find a sacred object. Even, the son of Zeus, has to find this object before the beginning of Christianity. The characters are interesting and if you like history and mythology this will be a good read to you. I liked that the author took mythology and placed it in the context of the beginning of Christianity. Everything is well planned out and exciting to read. The story has a good flow and kept me from wanting to put it down. I look forward from reading more from this author in the future to see what interesting stories she brings to life.

This is the second book in the Servant of God’s Series.

The adventure continues as Evan (Evandros) and his companions carry on their search for the relics to save the gods from Christianity. They have found one and are on the journey to find the second one.

Their journey is met with plenty of challenges which they have to overcome. Evan knows he needs to find the relics so he can return home to the 21st century.

Its a great book full of myths and legends which are more real than anyone imagines. The author describes the places in great detail that you can actually imagine you are there in that time period. Where myths and legends become reality.

The Labyrinthine Journey by Luciana Cavallaro is jam packed with so many of my favorite things that I don’t know where to start. Certain historical fiction definitely pulls me in but throw in the heavy hand of Greek Mythology and I am plum in heaven. This book follows Evan as he makes his way in a whole new world of ancient Greece. When I found out his father was Zeus I may have been a tad jealous. Evan is on a mission to find lost relics and help keep the mystical creatures and powers of the world he is in alive and strong. I loved the adventures we followed him on as he would battle through anything with such fervor that you could feel his emotions come off the screen of the kindle as you read I am very much looking forward to seeing what else may be available by Luciana Cavallaro, and to get my hands on the next book in this series!

The Labyrinthine Journey (Servant of the Gods, #2)The Labyrinthine Journey by Luciana Cavallaro

The Labyrinthine Journey is the second book in the Servant of the Gods series by Luciana Cavallaro. It is an epic fantasy filled with adventure, ancient history, mythology, gods, drama, danger, prophecy, ancient relics, and more. Even though this is the second book in the series and continues Evan’s adventure, Ms. Cavallaro does a great job of ‘catching us up’ on the events in book one- so this can be read as a standalone if that’s what you wanted, without feeling lost in the story.
Ms. Cavallaro’s attention to detail and obvious love of ancient history really brings this story to life. She proves to be quite knowledgeable about this era- and all the wonderful descriptive detail and snippets of history really add to the atmosphere and feel of the story. It was so easy to be ‘in’ the story, and ‘see’ everything as it was unfolding. I love ancient history, and that was one of the things that drew me to this book.
Evan is a 21st century architect who has been transported through time, back to ancient Greece- where he finds himself on a mission from the Gods. This quest, to find the ancient relics and save the Gods, proves to be quite the epic adventure. It will test him like nothing before, and he will need to dig deep if he is to succeed, and survive.
Looking forward to book #3!

Thank you, Luciana Cavallaro!

In The Labyrinthine Journey (Servant of the Gods Book 2) by Luciana Cavallaro, we follow Evan on a journey that to him seems unreal. All your favorite mythical creatures are here and maybe even some you’ve never heard of, with a lot of the back story on these characters. Gods and historical people alike. I love how the author intertwines some of our own cultural discord into the story. The characters are interesting and intriguing, the world is well described, you can almost taste the salt in the sea. An all-around wonderful story to cuddle up to, well worth your read.
