My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Distant Memory is Book 3 in the Solum Series by author Colleen S. Myers. I don’t know how many times I can keep writing how incredible this authors book are, each time I have read another book from this author she just continues to get better and better.

With that being said, this is series is the one I have loved the most! Everything about this read captivates me. I highly recommend you read these books in order to really understand each read and just as a whole is a series not be missed! I have been eagerly awaiting this book, and now it over its a bittersweet thing.

This book carries on straight after the events of Book 2 ‘Can’t Forget’ its a smooth seamless transition that flows just like the rest of the book.
Throughout this book, we are thrown twists and turns continuously its full of action, adventure and you never tire of it. You cannot put this read down, you are constantly turning the pages wondering what could possibly happen next – yet when it does it’s something you never expect!

Each character that Beta interacts within this book whether they are recurring characters from Book 1 & 2 or new characters, comes across to you as the reader in different ways. But while they may have their own part in Beta’s story it’s Beta’s story that you can’t help bugs be connected with. With each book and especially this one Beta has become even stronger and resilient even with all the choices she has to make.

This read is once again one of the most mentally visual books I have read, I was captivated at every turn, was catapulted into Beta’s story as though it was my own! I highly highly recommend this read & this series, and hope this isn’t the last we get from these amazing characters!

Thank-you Colleen S. Myers for this fantastic series!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Colleen S. Myers has done it again with Book three in The Solum Series: Distant Memory. I continue to love the characters and I really want to see Finn and Beta together. I get it her and Marin are mates and married but Finn was there first. This is the story we’ve been waiting for where Beta and Xade have their moment, more than one actually. There are also new characters introduced that are surprising and add a new twist to the story. I am hoping there is a book four in the series but with the ending it could go either way. I wasn’t sure I would like the series when I first started it but I have grown to love it and I was excited when I saw book three was out finally.

Can’t Forget (Solum #2) by Colleen S. Myers – Review by Chantelle Smith

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Can’t forget is the second read in the Solum Series from author Colleen S. Myers. Once again this book has held me totally captivated from the start, right until the very end! For the full benefit of this incredible series I recommend that it’s read in order, as you wouldn’t want to miss a thing with this series. I didn’t think Colleen S. Myers would get any better with this series, but my oh my – has she proved me wrong!

This author has once again transported us back into this created an incredibly vivid, mentally visual read. I couldn’t help but picture the whole planet in my mind while reading it, the look and descriptions of each individual character that Beta comes into contact with. All of it makes for an incredible sci-fi, alien romance novel filled with action, adventure, mystery, suspense, romance and most important an incredible plot.

This time we see Elizabeth ‘Beta’, trying to work out what could ultimately help the Fost bring down their enemies the E’Mani. Along the way she continues to grow as a person and her journey continues at a fast pace. I absolutely love her and Marin together, they bring an incredible dynamic to this read that I absolutely love to read about, but there is something between them that plays a big part in some of Beta & Marin’s actions. Along with Marin, Finn is back in this read and he brings another side of Beta to the forefront, one that also shows strength and determination. But too me my OTP has got be Marin & Beta.
But just as we think maybe there could be a possibility of a way to overcome the evil that has disrupted Beta’s life things are about to be thrown off!

Once again we were given twists and turns that make it even harder to put this read down, we cannot forget the magic that is weaved through the story and the history of it.
I loved that we are still learning all new things along with Beta, whether it’s the history of the planet she is on, the Fost, the E’Mani or even her own Power it made everything seem more real, and as though we were there living out the story ourselves.

Overall this was an incredible read that I loved that I got the chance to read, and cannot wait to delve into this world again in Book 3- to see what continues with Beta’s story – and whether they can finally overcome this evil! With plenty more story to be told I cannot wait to thrown back into this world!

Wow! What an action packed, emotional story!! I loved it…then I was irritated at certain characters then I was surprised and shocked. This book covers a wide gambit of emotions but never doubt how much I enjoy reading this book. Immensely! This picks up nicely where the last story left off. I would highly recommend reading book 1 (Can’t Remember) before enjoying this one. You would get the full feel of the story.

I have to say in the first book I was frustrated in who ended up with who. I really felt Finn and Beta (Elizabeth) should have been together. So with that being said i struggled with the idea of Marin and Beta. As the story moves forward I really saw the devotion between Elizabeth (Beta) and Marin. Their love felt deep in this story. So that made me feel better. Finn…this guy…he doesn’t give up easily. He wants Beta (Elizabeth). Elizabeth (Beta) loves Marin and Marin loves her. Love triangle at its best! I root for Finn because of the way Marin is acting but then Finn acts like a jerk and Marin is back in my favor. Although Marin frustrates me a couple times in this story. How Elizabeth (Beta) can choose keeps me perplexed.

We get to see some of the old characters (Yay!) but then meet a slew of new ones ( boo-Zara) as well. They all help the story along without overtaking the spotlight away from the main characters. We are finding out more and more about Elizabeth (Beta).

I enjoyed this book immensely! Drama and action filled this book and kept me easily entertained. I am eagerly awaiting the next in the series. I need to find out!

Next Please!

  • Can’t Forget: If She Can’t Forget About Her Past, She Won’t Have a Future by Colleen S Myers is the second book in the Solum series.
We are taken back into the lives of Beta and Marin. Beta knows that the E’mani won’t just let her life her life. She knows they will come for her. And she can’t wait to exact revenge when that happens. But with her heart also on the line the fight is even more dangerous.
This book was as good as the first, if not better. Because the characters were so well developed in book one it was extremely easy to slip back into their story. I couldn’t wait to find out how this story would develop and I was definitely not disappointed. As well written and engaging as the first book this is shaping up to be a brilliant series.View all my reviews

Must Remember: Dead or Alive, They Want her Back. Book 1 in the Solum Series by Colleen Myers
4 out of 5 Stars
Elizabeth “Beta” Camden has lived through a nightmare and survived. In her new post-apocalyptic world, she has survived the claiming and destroying of her world from the E’mani, the creepy alien men from Space. She suffers their experiments and torments, and finally she escapes.
She doesn’t remember the details of why, but they want her back….badly and they will do anything to get her back. In her fear and pursuit of safety, she runs into the Fost, the enemy of the E’Mani, and hey, the enemy of her enemy is her friend….right? Beta struggles with the memories from her time of capture and knows that they hold the secret as to why the E’mani want her back so bad. As she tries to regain these memories she is drawn to the handsome Marin, a Fost who seems to have a similar attraction to Beta.
This book is not in my normal wheelhouse genre but I was oddly and pleasantly surprised with this book. The characters were well rounded and sharp. Easily relatable on a personal level and with dashes of humor thrown in. A good read for a rainy day.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Overall, I enjoyed this book. It is well written, rich in detail, and has a steady pace. The characters are somehow believable even given the storyline and setting. Although a bit heavy in the amount of sex, it was a good book. The author has a unique voice and a clear ability for story telling regardless of where the story takes place.

Can’t Forget: If she can’t forget her past, she won’t have a future. (Solum Series Book 2)
By: Colleen S. Myers
5 out of 5 stars

The story Can’t Forget: If she can’t forget her past, she won’t have a future. (Solum Series Book 2) by Colleen S. Myers is a science fiction/fantasy book. It is a story that hooked me in when I read the first book and now has hooked me in again with the second. I was mesmerized and found myself not wanting to put the book down until I had read the final page. I loved reading about Beta and Marin. Beta is a woman determined to find the E”mani and she has revenge on her mind. She is on a mission and not even Marin can stand in the way of her plans. Even though she knows that her actions could anger Marin she still pushes forward. Marin is a man that is totally in love with Beta. He wants to keep her safe. Beta has done the unexpected and now he refuses to let her throw her life away. Beta is someone who doesn’t like to be told what she can and can’t do. Marin is one that protects the one he loves. Will it take a threat to Marin’s safety to make her realize just how much she needs him? What does Beta remember about her past and what will it mean for her future? Read this book to find out. This is a wonderfully written story that I highly recommend reading. It is part of a series and in order to fully understand what is going on, I would recommend reading the stories in order. I love the romance between Beta and Marin. There are some steamy scenes that make the temperature in the room rise. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Can’t Forget (Solum Series Book 2) by Colleen S. Myers – Review by Emily Walsh

Can't ForgetCan’t Forget
ByColleen S. Myers
My Rating: 4 of 5 stars

Can’t Forget by Colleen S. Myers was a fast pace, epic science fiction fantasy drama, that has me hooked just as must as the first book.

The second book in the Solum Series, is a continuations series so I highly suggest you read the first book, as it will give you much needed backstory and get a better understanding of Bata and Marin. I very much enjoyed reading about Bata and Marin, it fit better in this book and actually added something good to the plot and at times drove it forward.

What I will say, and something I find irritating with female MC’s/the hero; was that she fell into the whole,I can do it myself trope. She didn’t listen to reason and, it bit her hard in the behind. But it’s like TV, no matter what I mutter into the book she’s an’t going to listen. I do get it, I do, it moves the story forwards, crates drama, and a deadly situation. I just didn’t like the whole “You can’t tell me what to do!” trope. No one likes to be told what they can and can’t do. But sometimes, closing your mouth and processing why a person is asking you not to do something dangerous, could save your life. I’m in the military, so I know this, teach this and stress this, to my young subordinates that have the same attitudes.

Outside of that, like the first book, we are still getting pieces of Bata’s past, this drives not only the plot but the reader. The authors does this through flashbacks, and they’re pretty intense. There is bit of a plot bomb towards the end, and you are going to have your mouths opened. I’m not going to say, cause I don’t want to ruin a thing about this original read. Not only is the writing smooth and easy to follow but the raw emotions that it’s lace with, will pull at your hearts string, snapping them, making you feel for Bata, and for the hell that she went through.

Overall this book, this series is a must read. I give this book my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval. It’s truly something special and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book.

Happy Reading.
