Somebody in the NeighborhoodSomebody in the Neighborhood by Judy Moore
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Somebody in the Neighborhood by Judy Moore is a murder mystery. Dawn Andersen decides to move from her home in Ohio to Florida to start anew in the home of her recently murdered aunt. Is her aunt’s murder a random murder or someone who was someone closer to her? This is a good read that kept me reading from beginning to end. I enjoyed the characters and the story. It reminded me of a good whodunit. The characters get narrowed down as Dawn starts to narrow down if they could have murdered her aunt. A good fast read for anyone who enjoys a murder mystery.

Somebody in the Neighborhood is a murder mystery. I don’t usually read these types of books but I enjoyed this one. Dawn’s Aunt Amy gets murdered and needing a change, she decides to move down to Florida into her aunt’s home. It might not have been the smartest decision seeing as Dawn fits the description of the victims, pretty and blonde. Dawn loves the sun and the beach is nearby but she has to deal with her strange new environment. Her next door neighbour keeps watching her, some of the others seem too interested in her aunt and she has a creepy mailman who is way too friendly for her tastes. After doing a little investigating on her own, Dawn realizes that she’s in trouble, the killer is someone in the neighborhood.

The thing I liked best about this book was that the author kept me guessing until the grand reveal. The story was well written with enough twists to keep you interested. Suspense, drama and quirky characters made this a wonderful read.

There is a lot to say about Somebody in the Neighborhood by Judy Moore, that follows the story of Dawn’s life after suffering the loss of her aunt, Amy. Dawn, much like her aunt, is an eccentric, “born to late”, wild card. Seeking independence from a her seemingly suffocating parents, Dawn moves to florida.

This book is honestly ranked in my top 10 reads, Judy doesn’t miss a single detail! Her story unfolds beautifully from beginning to end, and is a definite must read! A five star rating for a 5 star book!

Ok this author has done it again! I think I know the answer and I’m wrong. This book had me hooked. Dawn feels a connection to her aunts house in Florida so she makes the decision to move there after she’s murdered. Things start to happen and she come to the conclusion that the suspect they have in custody isn’t the right person. I couldn’t put this down as I just had to know and boy was I wrong on my first guess.
Great book!

I give Somebody in the Neighborhood by Judy Moore, 4 stars.

I really enjoyed this book. I thought Dawn was a great main character and I understood her thoughts and needs perfectly. She needed to get away and start over, and her aunt’s house was the perfect place. The neighborhood had the type of people you would expect in a small town type atmosphere. While you don’t always agree with them, they do really exist. I liked how each person was different too, not just cookie cutter placements.

The whole book is shrouded in suspense as you try to figure out who is killing and why. There are things happening throughout the book to keep you involved too. The list of suspects is quite long, and so many people could be the suspect. I was pleasantly surprised by the actual killer, it wasn’t one of my top suspects.

This is a great whodunit suspense set in a small Florida cul-de-sac that offers an interesting story and unique characters. If this is your type of book, I highly recommend that you pick this book up.

I am so glad I added this book to the many I’ve already read by this author. This was such a simple read yet full of so much to keep you thinking all the way till the end. It was a one sitting read for me because I could not make myself put it down.

This author does a great job weaving a mystery with great characters and great storylines. This one had me all messed up jumping from one scenario to another and finally figuring it all out but loving how it played out, then thinking it was all cupcakes and unicorns from there on only to have another twist thrown in that for me personally came out of left field, never even occurred to me I guess because I was so focussed on the other part of the story. Loved it!! Well Played Miss Moore!

I loved Dawn, and her reactions to things were alot like I imagine mine would have been..but I think my favorites in the book aside from her would definitely have to be Jerome and Dorothy, and of course Scratch-off, he made me smile.

If I had one negative I would have loved another epilogue that included David, but I’ll just have to let my imagination figure that one out 🙂

Awesome and I highly recommend!

I have read a few books by this author now and I know that I am going to be in for an intriguing read and Somebody in the Neighbourhood was no exception. I was engaged form the very beginning until the end. There was a great level of suspense that ran through the book and I loved guessing what was going to happen. Ms Moore always manages to keep me guessing throughout her stories with some great twists and turns. I really liked Dawn – the main character in the story – she was determined to find out what had happened to her aunt. Alongside Dawn were some great secondary characters that I felt really added something to the story – they were all really well developed.
I would highly recommend Somebody in the Neighbourhood to anyone who loves a good crime story – I definitely don’t think you will be disappointed!

Somebody In the Neighborhood is a great 4 star murder mystery.
I was pulled in right from the beginning.

Dawn finds out that her aunt has been murdered, curiosity got the best of her and she looked at the pictures of her aunt. Now she can’t get the image out of her mind. Dawn ends up going with her parents to Florida to take care of her aunts things. While in Florida Dawn decides she wants to stay in Florida and live in her aunt’s house and find out what happened.

As Dawn starts to meet the neighbors things get very interesting. They all seem to have secrets of some sort and so much more.
Can Dawn trust any of them? Who is the murderer?

Overall I really enjoyed this book, I love it when a book has me guessing about who the killer is. There are several twists and turns. All of the characters added a great element to the story. Judy pulls you right in with her writing and you won’t want to put it down until your done. If your looking for a great murder mystery 1-click and get started today.

Jax Marlin – To Catch a Marlin was an interesting 4 star read.

This story is set in the future. Pedroni is an officer and is assigned to look for a vigilante (Jax) that has taken things into their own hands when it comes to criminals.

Jax is the vigilante that Pedroni is looking for. But of course she doesn’t see herself that way, she is going after terrible people which stems from something in her past. When they meet, there is an instant connection between them. As Pedroni gets to know Jax he starts to struggle with right and wrong and starts to understand why she is doing what she is. I liked how Jax was leaving things for Pedroni. What will Jax do in the end? Will he let his feelings get in the way?

There is so much more to this great read.
I was drawn in by both characters and really loved each of them. Jax is a strong mysterious woman who can take care of herself. Pedroni was great as well. We get suspense, danger, and so much more. The author pulls you right in with her writing and you feel like you’re right there with the characters. All of the secondary characters were great. I will warn that there are some scenes that could cause triggers for some. I look forward to reading more in this series.

Jax Marlin: To Catch a Marlin is the first book in the To Catch a Marlin Series by T.K Toppin. This is my first read from this author and I was not disappointed. This book is a cat and mouse but in a sci-fi story. I really enjoyed the interaction between the characters and how the chase added to the story. Jax Marlin is a vigilante in the 24th century and has decided she must stop four criminals from forming an alliance. Will Jax Marlin get to them first or will Special Inspector Michael Pedroni?
This is a well thought out story and I look forward to what is to come next in this series. If I am to judge by the first book this will be a great series.

Jax Marlin to catch a Marlin By T.K. Toppin is a futuristic crime novel about a female Vigilante Jax Marlin and Inspector Pedroni who is determined to catch her. Pedroni chases Jax into space literally to try and find her. There’s a little romance, plenty of action and a great story line. Jax is the perfect Vigilante she has a tragic past but is still confident and capable her only weakness seems to be the growing feelings she has for “her copper” Inspector Pedroni. Inspector Michael Pedroni is a stickler for following protocol and catching the bad guy and he can’t help but feel and attraction to the Sexy Vigilante who is always one step ahead. If you love crime novels with a futuristic sc-fi theme you will really enjoy this book.

SPOILER: This story contains some dark subject matter and may be triggering to anyone that’s dealt with sexual assault.

Jax Marlin-To Catch a Marlin is a story about overcoming your past. Set in the future, this is the story of Jax-a vigilante, and Pedroni-the Inspector in charge of capturing her. After a traumatic childhood, Jax is determined to right wrongs and make criminals pay. Pedroni is a cop from a long line of cops and just can’t understand why people take the law into their own hands. After much fighting, destruction, and chasing-they realize they are not that different and they’ve come to love each other.

I liked the overall premise, but for me this book was just ok. I’m sure that it’s just a matter of personal preference and others would greatly enjoy the story. 3 stars.

Wow, where do I even start with this novel, Jax Marlin – To Catch A Marlin by TK Toppin??? I suppose it should go without saying, but the cover to this book is what drew me in. The bright and loud attention grabbing face right there lures you in to find out what this book could possibly be all about. I have never read anything from TK Toppin prior to this so I went in blind solely based off the cover and a few teasers I had come across my feed. I am glad that I did because this novel really sucked me in on an unexpected adventure to the future.

This book really has a bit of everything in it, creating a perfect novel to most people. I loved how the sci-fi futuristic things were not only unexpected but felt very realistic and possible. I found myself feeling as if I was right there in whatever world our author has created for that moment, along with the characters as they experience things first hand. I had not expected it but I loved it. Then throw in the cat and mouse mystery and you literally are on the edge of your seat from beginning to end to find out what will happen and how things will all come to a conclusion. I am so excited to also find out that there will be more, some already available to read, in this series. I look forward to getting lost in them soon and am anxious to find out what else TK Toppin has available to read.

I have always found it easy to fall in love with Judy Moore’s crime and suspense novels every time I pick one up and this one, Somebody in the Neighborhood, is no different from the rest. I loved how this book flowed and kept me guessing all the way up until the last few scandalous chapters where everything falls into place perfectly like a grand jigsaw puzzle.

Somebody in the Neighborhood has us following a young woman named Dawn. We soon find out that her aunt has been murdered and she will be moving into the house she lived in to see if you can find out more information about how and why her aunt had to die. Things get extra dark and twisty as you find out that each of the neighbors are harboring secrets and possibly the identity of the true killer. Dawn will put everything at risk to find the answers. Things move super fast and evolve perfectly in this novel and I found myself done with it way before I wanted to be lol. I can see myself re-reading this one to look for things I might have missed the first time around, and it’s just that good I need more in my life of it. I look forward to seeing what the next intriguing suspense novel we will get from Judy Moore.

“Somebody in the Neighborhood” is a whodunit murder mystery filled with twists, turns, and drama. I found myself being suspicious of a lot of the characters for the murder of the main character, Dawn’s, aunt. Somebody In the Neighborhood is a murder mystery by Judy Moore. This is the third book of Ms. Moore’s that I have read, and I have enjoyed them all. The story is essentially a murder mystery, with a whodunit quality to the storyline. There is of course murder- intriguing mystery, some action, danger, plenty of suspense, drama, secrets, and surprising developments- which had me trying to predict the outcome and ‘whodunit’, before any revelations. But Ms. Moore once again kept me guessing through the entire book, twisting and turning the plot while I attempted to piece everything together to try to figure out what was going on. The story was quite detailed and descriptive, and really well woven. Ms. Moore had no problem leading me in any direction she required- while also enticing me further and further into her story. She built the suspense and tension superbly- and had me anticipating the outcome.
The characters were well developed, interesting and somewhat quirky individuals. They added to the whole ‘atmosphere’ of the story- and made it all the more intriguing.
Definitely looking forward to more from Ms. Moore!

Thank you, Judy Moore!

Somebody in the NeighborhoodSomebody in the Neighborhood by Judy Moore
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Somebody in the Neighborhood by Judy Moore is full of surprises and is a mystery thriller with lots of twists and turns. There is murder and drama, fear and secrets. The characters are a little different and complex but well developed. The story gets you right from the beginning and slowly draws you in to the web of whodunit, where everyone seems to have interesting things to say about their neighbours. It is mainly set in south Florida where the neighbours seem nice but each have their own secrets to hide and each of them may be the killer. I loved Dorothy the oldest of the neighbours she cracked me up and I really wanted to stamp on Dawn’s mother, she got my goat up but that shows that Judy did a good job in writing them.

Dawn decides it time to leave the place that has been her home for 25 years. She needs a fresh start and definitely a new boss. When she sees her aunt’s house for the first time since she was murdered she decides this is where she wants to be. Dawn meets her neighbours and quickly learns there are some secrets they don’t want to share and some of them are quick to point their fingers.

Dawn’s fears soon become reality as the murderer comes to light but an unlikely hero comes to her rescue. When things settle down Dawn is given some truths that may change her life.

I enjoyed the story which will keep most guessing right to the end. I must admit I did work out who did it but it was still interesting to see if I was right or wrong because you never know what little twists and turns an author may add.
