Road Rage (Outlaw Series Book 4) by Katrina Kantas – Review by Bobbi Wagner

Road Rage (OUTLAW, #4)Road Rage by Karina Kantas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her yet. This is a MC romance story that has a little bit of everything in it. A story that pulled me in from the beginning. This is a well written story about Gem. She has a past she is trying to move on from until she meets Rage and that life seems to be pulling her back in. They are strong characters with great chemistry and great growth throughout the story. There are some twists and turns that you are not going to want to miss. This is a story that is full of action, romance, and was just hard to put down. A well rounded story that will pull you into the characters lives and make you want to know what happens next. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it.

I haven’t been reading MC books for very long, but have certainly come to love them. This is the fourth book in the series, but this is the first one I have read. Having a hard past, Gem is a strong woman who has overcome a lot. Meeting Shep, was a thrill for Gem, but is she going to end up the same place she was before? I absolutely love the grittiness of a good MC story, and this one did not disappoint me. I was on the edge of my seat till the end.

Road Rage (OUTLAW, #4)Road Rage by Karina Kantas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a good 4 star read. Gem is working at the supermarket when she meets someone who eventually introduces her to Rage. She misses being part of a family and she craves being a part of Rage. It’s not easy and the man she thought she knew turned into a monster. There is someone else who comes into the picture and he is great for her. There is a twist and her past ends up coming back to haunt her.

Gem is a very strong character that has been through alot of dark painful things. She definitely knows how to take care of herself, she is a fighter for sure. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. I will warn there are some scenes that could cause triggers for some. Overall I did enjoy it and I look forward to reading more from this author and series. This can be read as a stand alone. 1-click and get started today.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It is a fast-paced, intense MC thriller that jumps right in from the very start. It has everything needed for those that love MC stories, fast bikes, violence, and danger, lies and betrayal, dramatic moments, chemistry, tension, and suspense. There is a cast of many interesting characters some you will love others you will dislike. The storyline is well written and the some of the characters are well developed but there are others that I felt should have been. All in all I enjoyed this thrilling ride.
I love the strong female protagonist and her badassary, but the pain and abuse she went through made my heartache.

Oohh I love a good MC romance read and this book was right up my street! I was hooked from beginning to end and I definitely need to read the others in the series now! Gem was a brilliant character, I loved her for the moment I started reading about her. She was a pretty complex person but as her story progressed as did her character, she really was amazing to read about. It’s really refreshing to read about a female lead who holds her own and I think that it was I loved her so much, she’d been through so much that meant her life could have taken another path but she stayed strong!
A fantastic read and I’m pretty sure all MC romance lovers would love this book! I’m off to read more from this author now!!

Enter Shep, who is so handsome and he wants her to go with him and do things legally. Will Gemma be able to give up her security of being with all the members of Rage even though some things they do aren’t on the up and up. She is attracted to Shep so much but she is scared. WOAH! I got to say this book was a trip in the most amazing way. I could really feel the story and the characters that it contained. I loved the adventurous side of the story, and how I found morals came into play, would you risk everything for acceptance? I was hooked and really enjoyed this book! I had not read the prior books in the series, but I most definably am going to now!

Gem was very relatable. She stayed more less on the “legal” side of the tracks. She had secrets of her own, and when they slowly came to light I found her character development was undeniable. I loved her as a person even more! Throw in Shep, so shows her his side of the tracks. The chemistry was undeniable. Was it true though? Is this what Gem wanted? Would she risk the safe life she knew for a chance to be with Shep and the people he toured the road with?

I found that was where Gem’s character development comes into play. To fit in, she had to risk all she knew as being safe. And take a trip of something she always felt so against. The outcome and ending of this book came with a fistful and punch! I was amazed as I read. I could not put this book down, and was seriously left wanting more when the ending sneakily creeped up on me! Loved it truly! Amazing book!

Loved this book. And I must with no doubt, read the prior boos in this amazing series I just came across! I really recommend this author and their book. As well as their series. It was so freaking good. I could not put this one down literally. Very highly recommend! Defiantly a a rare treat to be enjoyed!

Shadows of Doubt (A Crawford Mystery)Shadows of Doubt by Merissa Racine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I loved this book, it seemed like a good reference to the court process.
It was informative and entertaining.
I give this four stars only because it seemed a bit slow in the middle.
This kept me guessing the entire time though and the character development in our female MC.
Oh the secrets that emerge,
Let’s just say she handled it well.
I personally would have minded my business cause it got real.
Most of the book she gave me Kate Beckett vibes.
The twists and turns can’t be explained without spoilers but you definitely need to read this.
I didn’t read the first book but I wasn’t lost.
I love the defense attorney, I would definitely read I book from his point of view.
This author keeps you on edge and I love the legal plot.
It wasn’t over dramatic it was just enough.
I would read this again and recommend it for book club.

Wow. All I have to say is that I was unable to read this novel when I was home alone, which is what I was hoping to do! The way this author weaves this blood-curdling tale is phenomenal, I honestly cannot say that I have ever read anything like this before, and though it certainly gave me goosebumps in the worst way, I could see myself reading other works by him. Written works such as these aren’t easy to read, but that’s all part of the fun, and horror. Growing up in a religious household and reading this work of art really had me gripping the edge of my seat.

The internal and external struggles had by the characters, namely Gabriel, brings tears to my eyes, as nothing is truly ever black and white. There is evil in this world, and there aren’t many novels that cover the dark side of people, religion, or people’s feelings/thoughts/opinions. The way that this author describes the struggles, the connection between the nuns and Mother Juana, Gabriel, and Consuela, and the bumps along the way, you can just tell that he poured his all into these pages. I look forward to reading this again once I have the mindset to really dig deep and will be back to edit this review once I do so. Well done!

I love this book. Not only does this book keep you on your toes. It makes me want to know more about Ivy. The things she mentions to Aria really makes you think about people you come into contact with. Aria is a woman who is trying to get her life back together after she loses a patient. I love how the plot keeps turning in a new direction.

Five Stars
This is my first read of 2022, and I can tell you that I started this year out with a Big Bang. For a debut book this author hit this one out of the park. This book if full of action. Once I picked the book up, I couldn’t put it down until I finished. Grace Locke is a gritty lawyer/veteran who has been through some hard times. This author has really brought Grace to life and the story is so detailed it made me feel like I was right there with Grace chasing down the truth. I look forward to reading a lot more Grace Locke books in the future. Now, if I can just keep five star reading picks up for the rest of this year I will be in beaver.

This is a well-written page-turner! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it’s cast of characters. The author did an incredible job building on the story and each of the characters throughout the story, helping the reader unravel the mystery. I really enjoyed the main character, Grace, from whose point of view this was written. The depth to which we come to understand her, while she is trying to defend her teenaged client Zoe, puts the reader in her shoes, so to speak, and yearn for justice with her. The details provided place the reader in the midst of it all and keeps you turning the page all the way to the end. I can’t wait for another in this series!

4 out of 5 Stars

Grace Locke is a mystery. Grace was a highly successful prosecutor with an Ivy League education. Now she is defending court-appointed clients in order to regain her bar certificate. Grace joined the military out of a sense of duty. She is now a vet with PTSD and missing a leg. Grace used to live in the richest neighborhood in Miami. She now lives in a rundown motel owned by an ex-ganster that she wrongfully convicted but got out. Grace’s life is a study in contradictions.

When Zoe Slim is accused of murdering her guidance counselor, Grace believes that this high profile case that could put her back on top or closer to the top. Grace convinces her soon-to-be-ex-husband to convince Zoe’s mom, Gretchen, to hire Grace. Grace artfully uses the unique characters that now share her life to solve this crime. Could Zoe actually be innocent? Who would want to frame her?

The suspense is wonderfully tense. The characters are delightfully flawed. The legal procedures are masterful. I want to be in the gallery the next time Grace defends her clients. This series has a permanent space in my book case!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a phenomenal story. Crime is a genre that I don’t pick up very often, but this one had such an awesome story and wholly believable characters that I couldn’t put it down. Grace is an intelligent, flawed, sometimes self-doubting, relatable character that keeps fighting even when the chips are down. I loved her vulnerability, and willingness to keep pushing forward even the face of strong adversity, and especially even in the face of her own self-doubt. She has to re-learn how to lawyer, how to walk, how to adult, and how to be an authentic version of this person she has become. The mystery of the whodunnit had me wrapped in circles trying to untangle it, and I still wasn’t able to do it in time at the end of the novel. So many great side characters, including the retired mob man with a heart of gold Vinny, and the big black badass ASA Marcus who is Grace’s loving friend and confidante. The motley crew of people that helped hold Grace together become a family of sorts, and the way she is able to find love and confidence in those that truly have her back made me so happy.

This debut novel by Mandy Miller had me from the beginning. I instantly fell in love with the main character, Grace Locke and truly felt connected to her on so many levels. Grace has a past that seems to be haunting her while working on the first big case since turning her own life around. Things aren’t always what they seem, especially when you know how the world turns, from your own experience. This book is a must read and most definitely deserves a full five star rating!

This thriller is one of the slower-paced books I’ve read, with the plot slowly unfurling the more you read. The further you delve into the story of Grace Locke and her case as she fights for her client’s innocence, the more twists and turns, and the more the author pulls you in. While at the beginning it was a little harder for me to get as invested, but the more I read, the harder I found to put it down. I’m excited to follow the stories of Grace Locke as this author continues with this series!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Grace has been through so much and she has taken responsibility for her actions and she is climbing her way back to redemption. She is tough, smart, independent, a good lawyer and also flawed as many of us are, which makes her very relatable. As an ex prosecuter she is now in the other side defending a high profile teenager accused of murder. This book is full of suspense, great characters, twists and turns, and much more. Grace Locke is hanging onto life by her fingernails. Recently recovering from nearly losing her job as a prosecutor, and living in a less than desirable place, she never thought she’d have to put up working for the types of people she’s resorting to defending now. Things may be looking up, however, when she gets wind of a possible career-maker case…the only downside is the accused kid is the daughter of the woman who ended her marriage. But once Grace takes the case, she soon discovers things aren’t as cut and dry as the police would have you believe and there are much darker forces at work against her client. This book really hit on topics that make up a great mystery-crime-thriller including complex characters, deep plot twists, and a loveable heroine who doesn’t allow the world to beat her down! Highly recommended!

When I read this book I had no idea that it was the author’s debut novel. It was only by looking at a few other reviews before writing my own that I discovered this and it makes me admire the author even more. This is a really great piece of writing that I would have assumed was from a seasoned author.
Grace is a fascinating character. She an attorney who is really down on her luck. After losing her leg in active service she then became addicted to painkillers and alcohol, resulting in a DUI, which in turn led to her losing her job as an assistant state prosecutor and the end of her marriage. Could anything else go wrong in her life?
The book is a bit of a slow burn to start with but does pick up pace and soon has you on a dangerous journey full of twists and turns as Grace tries to prove the innocence of teenager Zoe who has been charged with murder and all the evidence points to her being guilty. Can grace prove that she is innocent? Or is she innocent?
This really was a compelling read and I was totally engrossed in it and did not want to put it down. Definitely recommend.
