The Thieves is a wonderful story of a woman trying to save her father but is robbed by hardened criminals. There are wonderful characters throughout the book. You’ll find yourself cheering for everyone, even the bad guys at some point. A real life story that is brought to you in a fictional tale.

Saving the Gingerbread House by Lois Wickstrom – Review by Tonya Merritt

saving the gingerbread housesaving the gingerbread house by Lois Wickstrom
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was my second children’s book by Lois and she did not disappoint. She took the classic story of Hansel and Gretel and gave it a polite rewrite. It has many values for children to learn and is very fun and informative at the same time. Maybe it isn’t a witch after all but an elderly woman needing help.

Shadow Wolf (Protector Wolf Shifter Series Book 1) by Lilliana Rose – Review by Tonya Merritt

Shadow WolfShadow Wolf by Lilliana Rose
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Shadow Wolf brings you into the tale of a human and a shifter, with the human as always being naive. This story keeps you reading by being on the brink of finding out what is so important about Tamaska. A good story with good r rated scenes. The cliffhanger at the end begs you to get the next book to keep reading the series, which is what I plan to do.

Deadly IntentionsDeadly Intentions by Anise Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This story has the makings of a movie. It has the action and adventure of love. A classic revenge plot but with a twist of falling for the wrong guy. Viviana is just trying to get revenge for her friend but she gets that tingly feeling about Nazario. Could she get her revenge or end up dead? Maybe she’ll find love? Worth the read to find out.

Master Calabrea: Dark Vampire Romance (Masters of the Consulate Book 6)Master Calabrea: Dark Vampire Romance by Sylvia Black
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A wonderful mystery paranormal romance story. I myself had not read the books in this series before this book. It did not have that repetition where you wonder about the books before it. Sylvia made the story its own. Master Calabrea and Tansia are fun to follow on their quest to find Isala and the love for each other.

I am not a writer. I have dabbled but I feel like I can never write the stories the way my mind makes them up. That being said, this book is full of sound advice from many authors. Whether you are just starting or seasoned, this book can give you great insights.

I am not as positive as to what I expected when I began reading this book but it definitely changed. A mix of Narnia and other fictional stories with a deep root in stopping a war. You follow these kids who just want to find a way home but become part of this new world. Manipulator’s War is well written and easy to follow.

I am not going to lie, I really thought I was going to hate this book due to the setting and plot but a few chapters in and I couldn’t stop reading. I’ve been reading for 6 hours straight. It’s 5 am and I just finished. Who needs sleep when I need to know if Anna will find Lark or be stuck with her husband. Will Lark continue his lifestyle or find the girl who haunts his dreams? Definitely worth the read. I’ll be looking for the second book!

I cannot say enough about this book. A perfect romance story. I fell in love with Dean and Rae. The plot, the theme are absolutely amazing. When reading Echoing Hearts, you become the story; following their meeting to the end. I may have cried during some of Dean’s speeches. I look forward to reading more of C.R. Alma’s books.

Three Made in Heaven (Made in Heaven, #1)Three Made in Heaven by Elena Kincaid
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I don’t know many people who haven’t fantasized about having two men in love with them at once, so if you have and it was like a secret fantasy, don’t worry we won’t tell on you for reading this book! Elena Kincaid opened up about all the fantasies in this book. It had a real time storyline with all the fun additives. You’ll be worried for Maddie, Charlie, and Cole and reeling at the problems they face. Definitely a rated r book not super kinky but not vanilla either. A great love story to fulfill any dirty thoughts.

True Colors (Landry’s True Colors Series Book One) by Krysten Lindsay Hager – Review by Tonya Merritt

True Colors (Landry's True Colors #1)True Colors by Krysten Lindsay Hager
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wow, following Landry’s story of teenage life brought me back to late middle, early high school years. Krysten perfectly tells what it is like to be a teenage girl. The stress, the betrayal, the finding yourself, and everything that comes with it. I wish I would’ve had this book back then so I knew it was okay and it wasn’t always me when those two faced friends made you think it was.

AbsolutionAbsolution by Anise Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I am so glad for being warned as without it I would’ve been so confused. Though even with it it didn’t give anything away. The surprises were non stop throughout the book. Dominic and Juliana’s love story starts out slow and rises to a higher level. The writing was very arousing in all the right parts. This plot was a lot different than my normal reads, I would definitely read again and even look into other books.

Shore Lodge: A high-stakes psychological thriller (The Millersville series)Shore Lodge: A high-stakes psychological thriller by Susan Specht Oram
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

From the very beginning, Susan pulls you into the story and you are in the setting of it all. The vivid image of loss is shown throughout the story. Jackyln is, as the kids these days say ‘a baddie’, and it shows from chapter one to chapter 56. Susan writes a witty, yet suspenseful tale of the ultimate betrayal. I would definitely recommend this book and even read it several more times.

Straight for the Kill (Benoit and Dayne Mystery Book 3) by Winter Austin – Review by Tonya Merritt

Straight for the Kill (Benoit and Dayne Mystery, #3)Straight for the Kill by Winter Austin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This story is another classic Benoit and Dayne story. Like the second book, this one did not seem like a series to me. Which is no complaint, I like my books to be free of the need for them to be in order. She perfectly restated who everyone was but still gives bits to the past books. This storyline is my favorite out of all three she has made in the Benoit and Dayne line. The twists were successful in the suspense of this book. Will you find out the answer before someone else is hurt? Is the killer someone they know? You successfully find out in the reading of Straight For the Kill.

Savage Start: A High School Bully Romance: Hidden Valley Elite PrequelSavage Start: A High School Bully Romance: Hidden Valley Elite Prequel by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Isla Vaughn starts Savage Start out very well. The story pulls you in and you get involved in the character’s life and waiting for more. It did have some predictable aspects but was well written allowing you to continue on despite. Only complaint, if you could call it one, is it was over before it really got involved. Or maybe I read it too fast either way, would definitely read again and be sure I have the rest of the series handy to complete it all in one sitting. Despite the length, I am left wanting more.

Talisman (The Talisman Series Book 1) by Tam DeRudder Jackson – Review by Tonya Merritt

Talisman (The Talisman, #1)Talisman by Tam DeRudder Jackson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Let me start with wow! I absolutely loved this book and am now fighting to find the whole series! It is hard to find a book with Celtic knowledge and the use of Morrigan as a goddess. This was the whole reason for me to read the book. If you are into Celtic goddesses, it is the book for you. Tam began the book with the perfect backstory to pull you in. Her use of similes and metaphors are vivid and bring so much life to how you envision the story. It has just the right amount of sex with a perfect story line. I was easily sucked in and lost track of time and was done before I even realized it and ready for book two! One of my new favorite books for sure!

I began my reading into this book very excited and open minded. It took a few chapters before I became hooked. The story was new and had many twists and turns that you would not expect. Is Troy gonna be like his father or his grandfather? Or will he be a better man? If you take the time you’ll find out the answer and be just as surprised as I was.
