Hidden Mischief (Shattered Embrace Series) by Alyndra Quinn – Review by Tonya Merritt

Hidden Mischief (Shattered Embrace #1)Hidden Mischief by Alyndra Quinn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Mmmm! Yes, everything about this book. Super sexy hot boss, check! Ashton is trying to do better, get better. With her new job she is beginning to thrive. It may be due to the fact she is falling quickly into her new boss’ arms and he is her best friend’s brother. I absolutely loved this story. The writing, the plot, everything is perfect. Just the right spice for me too. Can’t wait for more from Alyndra Quinn.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blue eyed strangers, am I right? I don’t know anyone who hasn’t had an attraction to a blue eyed stranger. Giuliana is no different when she is unexpectedly alone for the beginning of her vacation. This is such a sweet story about how quickly attraction can change your life. I really enjoyed this book. It has everything; beach, fun, attraction, and who doesn’t dream of this fantasy sometimes?

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A light but real romance full of heartache, love and everything that can come in between. This story brings you back into those first love feels and makes you want to cuddle up and scream at the same time. It was a first kind of book for me. I had so many feelings and emotions but absolutely loved it. I really hope that Emily Cox and Nicole Allen write a second and make a series, a set, something for sure!

A romantic suspense with Mateo as everything and more. The suspenses in this book has you clinging to the page wanting to jump ahead. This is my first book by Kel O’Conner and she did not disappoint. This is a stand alone series but I am gonna go check out the others just because I loved her writing style. Janey is the right kind spice for Mateo’s life and I’m living for it.

Fashionably FakeFashionably Fake by Morgana Bevan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have read several of these books before and I love Morgan’s writing style. She’ll pull you in every time and you’ll be in love just like the characters. This series is a good standalone but reading the others will do nothing but make you love Morgan Bevan more. Jackson and Ros are the best. I love fake relationships that turn into full on love. The hope of it all.

A New Day for Cray (The Adventures of Cray Series) by G Pa Rhymes – Review by Tonya Merritt

A New Day For Cray (The Adventures of Cray on the Bay)A New Day For Cray by G. Pa Rhymes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

In this fun, child’s book you follow a crab that enjoys being mean and pinches everyone. This story teaches children how being mean doesn’t help them get friends. The rhyming helps get the repetition in their head of why they shouldn’t be. It is a great little book that many ages will enjoy but children need to hear it slightly more than most adults.

Resisting Nature (Powder River Pack Series) by Brooke May – Review by Tonya Merritt

Resisting NatureResisting Nature by Brooke May
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is my first story by Brooke May and I wish I would’ve read the first three before this one. That would’ve given me more of an idea of the storyline and Brooke’s writing style. This is a shifter story with werewolves. It was fun to follow as the story unfolds and tells us the relationship between Alexa and Miles. Miles knows he loves her but she is worried because of past trauma. I plan on going back and reading the first ones so I can learn more.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A love story that shows you the truth of love, not just the fairy tale. Things don’t always work out perfectly but definitely have to work. It is a fun Christmas based story. It was fun to watch Pedro and Anne overcome obstacles and become better people. Reading their love growing through everything and then the end…. Shew I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Shifter ShortsShifter Shorts by T.K. Lawyer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a new genre of stories for me to read; outside my normal range of stories. I loved that each story was a unique shifter tale. I had never thought of shifters as anything but werewolves. It was refreshing to read and see the different perspectives. I do wish there was more to read of each story but of course that wouldn’t make it a short story. Definitely will try to read more stories by T.K. Lawyer.

I’ll tell you the book cover is what drew me into this book and then of course I read synopsis. I was leary because this type of fantasy world building can be hard to get into but Lena Abram’s writing style will suck you in once you find your spot. A great story full of colorful characters and wonderful storyline. It will take you into a fantasy world unlike any other. I am excited to read other stories by Lena.

They aren’t rushed and give you plenty of time to learn the stories.

In this second installment in the series, we learn so much more about Kingston and his childhood. The contract is signed and Ava belongs to him now but will she be ruined? Or will she teach her modern day Beast to love? I enjoyed this story as much as the first. It is very sexual though so beware if you aren’t into stories like that.

This story isn’t set in a fast pace but slow and takes you through the motions. A wonderfully thought of story with tinges of magic, love, and adventure. Claire has never been adventurous after a childhood trauma but everything changes with a cake delivery. She gains new friends, a tall handsome stranger, pain, and even learns to overcome. A wonderful story of how life can go for anyone and the steps to overcome. Will Claire’s life turn around?

This is a sweet children’s book that shows them how to entertain and have fun with their dog. Dogs can get bored quickly, just like kids so what better than to teach the kiddos different ways to keep the dogs busy and have fun. A great book for families with dogs or who think about getting a dog or puppy. The illustrations are wonderful and the sentences are fun. Overall a fun, interactive story that you can read with your kids or your dogs even!

Nessie and the Living Stone (Nessie's Grotto)Nessie and the Living Stone by Lois June Wickstrom
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story brings in the imagination but teaches the children morals and values as well. If you have read Lois Wickstrom before you probably have read her small picture books, this story is a chapter book and peaks towards a bit older of a child. Wickstrom always writes the best books that captivate and teach. Definitely recommend Nessie and the Living Stone.

Wow this book blew my mind. It was perfectly written. A thriller with all the right storylines to follow. I hadn’t realized it was the second in the series till I got into it a good bit. I do absolutely want to go read the first book so I can see more about Joey and the story of high school for her. In this one she is in college and things aren’t always as they seem. This book will keep you entranced from the beginning.

I’m a fairly new Headstart Assistant Teacher and we have been studying different cultures in children. I was thrilled to find this book and read it. The story helps teach affirmations, shows positivity, and teaches children that their culture does matter. I plan to read this story soon enough to the kiddos in our class. I’ve recently learned there is also a female version too.
