One of my favourite things is a sports romance. That is what drew me to this book. I have read a lot of sports books, but none of them were like this book. I found that this book had me hooked after the first few chapters.
The chemistry that Lexi and Brett had was amazing. I thought the storyline was good, I liked that Lexi embarrassed Brett and that he was then trying to get revenge.
Overall, I found that the story itself was interesting and full of twists and turns and I found the most of the characters enjoyable. definitely look forward to read more books Alexa Summers!

Touchdown: A Steamy Football Romance: The Big Apple Series Book 1 by Alexa Summers. This was a fun book about Lexi Driver EAN’s top Sportscaster. She knew from early on she wanted to be surrounded by hunky half naked men. Its her dream job and she’s excelled at it without having to do things she regrets. She has lots of competition wanting her job, younger girls who will do anything to get to the top. She’s on top of her game until a scandal happen with a picture in the locker room of star quarterback Brett Brock. He’s furious with her and plans to destroy her career until he begins to have feelings for her. This is a fun sexy story with a great story line. I can’t wait to read the next book

I am a sucker for a sports romance and this one certainly delivered! It’s full of drama, suspense, jealousy, romance, happiness and so much more it kept me on my toes thats for sure. I was gripped from the start and it developed brilliantly it was one of those novels that you start and you get so engrossed you read it all in one sitting. I loved the characters and seeing them grow throughout the story they really made the story come alive and i could feel the emotions they were going through. I was at times in full on giggle mode especially with how the banter was between Lexi and Brett it made me smile alot. The novel is steamy and the chemistry flies between Lexi and Brett you can feel it pouring of the pages. I absolutely enjoyed every second of this novel and i can’t wait to read more from this author.

Touchdown: A Steamy Football Romance is the first book in The Big Apple Series by Alexa Summers. I had never read anything by this author and if this book is anything to go by, I’ll be sure to read more as this is a fantastic book. This book is well written and has great believable characters. Lexi Driver is an ambitious sports journalist at the top of her field in what is usually a male dominated world. Unlike other females in the same role, she got to where she was by damn hard work and being good at her job and not by offering sexual services to move up the ladder. Brett Brock is a quarterback who has been playing second string to top player Dion but when Dion gets injured, Brett finally gets to show just how damn good a player he is. When interviewing Dion in the locker room, Brett’s towel falls giving Lexi more than an eyeful. Unfortunately her cameraman turns and Brett’s crown jewels are shown on live tv for all to see. Brett is furious and is determined to bring down Lexi. However, what he didn’t foresee was that spending time with Lexi would result in him falling for her. This is a fantastic story which keeps you gripped from the beginning right through to the very end. It also has a lot of humour, the banter between Lexi and Brett is hysterical at times. I would definitely recommend this book to those who like a steamy, funny romance.

I really really wanted to love this book and for 95% of it, I did. I loved Lexi, she stayed true to herself in a mans job and earned everything she worked so hard for. Brett was a good guy if you took out the fact of his revenge plot. I just could not get over it. I didn’t find that to be a redeemable thing to do, at all. If we took that away, this book was 5 stars but it just didn’t sit as ok to me. Yes its fiction but its the point of it. I was drawn right into this story, i laughed and learned a lot too, not a sports fan at all. Will be reading more from this author as I really enjoyed her writing style and her character development.

Touchdown is a contemporary romance novel set within the world of American football. This is a steamy read, so if you’re looking for something more subtle, this is not the book for you. The heat starts instantly and does not stop until the very end of the book. This feels like a very promising start to a series and I cannot wait to read more.
This is a full on read. From start to finish, Touchdown brings the heat, drama and emotion. Our leading lady, Lexi Driver, is a woman we all would love to be. Spending her life inside a football team’s changing room, she has seen it all. And it’s fair to say she loves it. She is a strong, sassy and sexy woman that isn’t afraid to speak her mind. I liked Lexi from the beginning, and grew to like her even more over the course of the book. Yes, she has her flaws (maybe she should have just apologised for that whole incident to start with) but she has been through so much in her life. As the story went on, I found myself really feeling for her and everything she was going through.
A sports romance isn’t complete without a sexy man to raise the temperature. Brett Brock is just that man. He had a rough start, I’ll give him that, but I have to admit I had a love hate relationship with him. While you can see why he wanted revenge, his way of doing so was questionable. I spent a good portion of the book on the edge of my seat, waiting to see if he would in fact release the recordings he had made. While some tension is good, I have to admit that this is one of the things that drives me mad when reading! I won’t spoil what happens, but I was so pleased when it finally did. This really moved the story along and finally, I could breathe again!
Overall, Touchdown is a really fantastic sports romance read. It stands-out for its steaminess as this is definitely not your average read. If your looking for a romance that offers just that bit more, this is definitely one for you.

I absolutely loved this novel! There are so many reasons why, I don’t know where to start either! I guess I will start with a bit of a disclaimer. I am a sucker for football romances. Always have been. Maybe it is that football season also reminds me of cozy blankets, hoodies, coffee, and bonfires. It is when magical things start to happen. I.E. my favorite time of year. Another reason I adored this book is because this is the first in a series, The Big Apple Series, so there will be more!! At least one more reason… these are both new authors to me, and now they are one-clicks for me. I will have some more TBR to be adding to my list. (Because you know we all need more LOL)
All that said, this was such a fun storyline to follow as well, with several different layers to keep you engaged and on your toes from beginning to end. Lexi Driver, one of my favorite female MC’s this year, was so fun to read. She is quite a complex character with her history. She has started to overcome it, but things start to creep back up and haunt her again when things get messy with her now successful profession, a sportsman reporter.
It is while doing a report that she finds herself wrapped up in a locker room mess and in the path of one ticked off and handsome football player, Brett Brock. I liked Brett, although not at first. It was a bit of, he had to grow on me. That was all part of the charm of the story though. Anyway, Brett is caught with his balls, rather than his football skills, (pun intended LOL) on the screen for the free world to see. This obviously gets under his skin and sets him on a mission to get some revenge of sorts. During this mission though he starts to discover that there may be more to them than just a physical attraction. These two may actually have the makings of soulmates. But not everything is what it seems and just when you think they will be on the road to the expected happily ever after things start happening. What will happen between these two? Touchdown: A Steamy Football Romance is the first book in The Big Apple Series by Alexa Summers and A.J Phoenix. This story is a great sports romance full of suspense, dramatic events, and surprising developments. I really enjoyed the story, particularly the quirky, complex and interesting characters. They really made the story come alive and gave it extra depth, emotion, fun, romance and tension. There were characters I loved, and characters I loved to hate. You will know what I mean when you read all the details for yourself. This was my first read by these authors, and I am happy to say that it definitely won’t be my last. Lexi Driver is a popular reporter for a local Sports Channel. She loves her job and is very good at it. But things go awry when she gets caught up in a locker room scandal that leaves her hot under the collar, in more ways than one- with an embarrassed and highly annoyed footballer to contend with. Brett Brock has wanted to make a name for himself in football, but gaining attention by having his manhood broadcast for everyone to see had never factored into his plans- he had wanted his skills on the field to be noticed and appreciated, so being humiliated on live television was definitely not what he’d had in mind. He’s determined to gat a little payback and give Lexi a dose of her own medicine. But as he puts his plans in motion, he discovers that they are a lot more compatible than just intense chemistry. But there seems to be someone hell bent on destroying not only their happiness, but also their careers. Little do either of them expect to get caught up in an even bigger scandal that puts everything they had built in serious jeopardy. What ensues definitely challenges them on many levels while they navigate the fallout from the plots and dastardly deeds. This book was a great read and I really liked taking this journey with Lexi and Brett. I am a little torn as to what to rate this book, because the first half of the book was an entertaining 4 star read, but the second half of the book was definitely a riveting 5 star read- so therein lies my dilemma. If you love a great sports romance with quirky and relatable characters who take you on a fun and romantic read, then this is definitely the book for you! I’m looking forward to more from these authors!

Touchdown by Alexa Summers is a must-read Sports Romance! This is my first book by this author, but it certainly won’t be my last, it also happens to be the first book in the Big Apple series. This romance read is dramatic, steamy, funny, entertaining and so captivating. I was pulled right in from the first chapter as I easily connected with Lexi’s witty character. Her pursuit for a successful career was inspiring and I loved how down to earth she was. Plus, as a bonus I also really loved Brett’s character, he made for the perfect book boyfriend, he was sweet, manly, family oriented and oh so sexy!
I can’t wait to read the rest of this series and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for their next romance read!

I do love a good sports romance story so I was really looking forward to reading this one. It was one of those hard to put down stories and ok maybe it was a little predictable but I was still wrapped up in Lexi and Brett’s story. I loved the connection they had even if they didn’t know it! I loved the love/hate relationship and the banter they had between them. I really liked Lexi, her job was obviously really important to her (got to be honest I would love her job) she was hard working, passionate and very driven. I loved that she wasn’t going to back down to Brett, I think the more he pushed her to apologise the less likely it was that she was going to! I think it was pretty obvious where the connection as going to lead with these two and it did lead to some pretty steamy moments! I really liked the author’s easy going writing style, the story flowed well and I really enjoyed the characters. I would love to read more from her in the future.

This story had me in fits of laughter. Lexi is a goldmine. She was so honest about the reason behind her career choice. Honestly that sounds like a awful job seeing all those hot athletes in their birthday suits said no woman ever. Lol. I didn’t like the way Brett went about his revenge. Plus he never told Lexi. This story is perfect for a smooth read. Something you can sit down and enjoy without feeling like your wasting your time.The relationship between the characters was only tarnished by the secrets. They seemed real and perfect for each other. It’s crazy how our emotions drive us to do things we never would normally. For all intents and purposes Brett was a good guy he just got caught up in a foolish plot for revenge. Lexi was so vulnerable even though she portrayed such an outgoing and carefree persona. This is the first book I’ve read by this author (under either name) and I was expecting a cliche “flimsy” sports romance. It exceeded my expectations to such a level that I will gifting a copy to a dear friend of mine (book nerds unite!).
I enjoyed everything about this book. It was well thought out, never rushed to get to a scene. It has a strong beginning, middle and end and I appreciated the epilogue.
The characters were dimensional and human. The book was written in such a way that sometimes I was expecting a right turn and it took a left. It held my interest from beginning to end.
This book was NOT a Hail Mary pass. It was a well practiced “play” (football analogy that I hope I used correctly).

Lexi Driver has the my dream job. A sports reporter with locker room access. She is a highly respected reporter with access to all of the players and all of it has been earned. Well it was until that fateful day.
Brett Brock is the backup quarterback who tends to stay in the background in the locker room. But he gets thrust into the limelight in one of the most embarrassing ways.
Their story is funny, hot, painful and entertaining. I loved every minute I spent reading this book and look forward the rest of this series.

Touchdown: A Steamy Football Romance: The Big Apple Series Book One by Alexa Summers. This was what I would consider, the perfect sports/romance book. Hot and steamy all wrapped into a great read. Lexi knew from her early years what she wanted to do…. she wanted to be a sports reporter and get the first interviews of athletes. Which meant seeing them in all of their glory, hot, sweaty, fresh off the field and close to naked. When during one of her interviews, she and the entire country, see Brett Brocks impressive package. When he demands an apology, Lexi knows that is not going to happen because she doesn’t think she did anything wrong. This book had me constantly wanting more. I can not wait to read more from this author and this series.

Touchdown: A Steamy Football Romance, by Alexa Summers, is the first book in the Big Apple Series. This sports romance was instantly fun to read. I thought the feisty personality and go-getter attitude from Lexi was right on point and enjoyed the back and forth banter that occurred between her and Brett. Lexi may like the male physique more that a normal woman may admit, but she takes charge and knows her stuff despite her filter not working properly at all times. This story made me laugh, and I enjoyed the growth in the characters as the story progresses. There is definitely some animosity between some co-workers, but it adds to the charm of the story, giving some additional dynamic and drama. The way the author finishes the story was perfect and an ending that was in tune with the characters.

Touch down written by Alexa Summers was a great read. It was full of funny moments, quick with remarks from Lexi and of course a lot of sexual tension between Lexi and Brett. You wonder which way the story will go on the beginning then you are hooked and you keep anticipating what will happen next but you aren’t prepared. Once you realize what’s finally happened you know who it is and you have to keep reading to see how it plays out. Lexi is a great female lead, she does what she has to do to advance in her career without compromising her morals like others characters in the book. By the end your left wondering if you want another story or if it should be left alone. @krystalgaston

This is the first book in this series and also my first book by this author. There is a little bit of everything in this book from romance to mystery to drama. What happens when a news reporter catches a player in a wardrobe malfunction? The characters in this book you will either love them or hate them as they are full of drama but also full of love. I will say that Lexi and Brett make an awesome couple and their attraction is strong. I highly recommend their story and find out what happens.

Touchdown: A Steamy Football Romance The Big Apple Series, Book One Alexa Summers 4 out of 5 stars Touchdown is the second sports romance I’ve read and the first title I’ve read by this particular author. I was drawn to the book by the humor and honesty in the synopsis. One of the reasons Lexi became a sports journalist was to get into the men’s locker rooms? How can this book not provide entertainment? Touchdown did meet all of my expectations, while it wasn’t as fast paced as I’m used to it had a little bit of everything to keep my interest. There was the classic element of jealousy that comes with women, especially in a competitive work environment, there was romance, there were steamy encounters, drama, the list goes on. One of the things I most liked about this story was Lexi’s character, she was witty and charismatic which I loved but what’s best is that her success in her field is authentic proving her to be a strong female lead and I truly like that in my romance novels. Touchdown was a fun read that I truly enjoyed, I am looking forward to more from Alexa Summers.

While I liked the story it wasn’t a favorite. I will say that the book got much better the further into it I got. The two main characters started out very rough. I really didn’t care much for either of them. Each one had a agenda and it wasn’t on the positive side. But as the story grew so did my appreciation for each of these two. They had more depth to them and I ended up really liking Brett. He really worked toward his dream(s) to accomplish it. He showed honor near the end. I was impressed.
I liked meeting some of the secondary characters. Most of them helped move the story forward but a few were just there to enjoy. Those were the best. They added a nice layer and mostly were feel-good characters.

With both men and women in top end professions tempers and ego’s fly. A hard hitting sports reporter at the top of her field means others trying to take over brings on the drama and jealousy, enviness and bitterness and lets not forget the manipulations, lying and bitchiness. Then there is a football player out for revenge, an ex who doesn’t like the word “no” and watch the sparks fly both in and out of the bedroom and claws bared to come out fighting. This story is hot and feisty and not one to be missed.

This is a story that had me turning pages to find out what happens next. I enjoyed reading about the way that Lexi and Brett banter and interact with each other. There is definitely heat between these two. There are some steamy scenes that make the temperature in the room rise. This is a wonderfully written story that is a pleasure to read. It is a book I would highly recommend.

Hands down, what a page turner! I simply couldn’t put this down. I loved every single page and character. I found myself laughing out loud and riding the emotional wave throughout. Simply loved this book and cannot wait to read it again.

Touchdown: A Steamy Football Romance by Alexa Summers is the first book in The Big Apple series. This book is everything you can want from a sports romance. Lexi is gray at her job. She knew she was going to be from the moment she walked into a boys locker room, saw what was beneath the towels and decided to become a sports presenter. But when she takes it too far one day her current subject, Brock, demands an apology from her. And things can only go wrong when she doesn’t feel like she has anything to apologise for.
This book is fantastic. It was funny, entertaining as well as being steamy and captivating. Brock and Lexi have such great chemistry you can feel it coming off the pages as you read. This was a new author to me and I was blown away by how easily she grabbed and held my attention throughout. A brilliant book.
