A collection of novellas that are hot, steamy, some with kink, some touching on the taboo.
These dark side of romance reads are enthralling and this collection will keep you in their grip, you simply cannot put this book down.
I have read a few of LMs full novels, where the character development continues throughout the books; but have found this omnibus of novellas a great go to for a quicker read, where the characters are just starting to develop and you can see some of them easily flowing into longer stories. LM is certainly an author to read if you like spice and temptation in your romance.

The Earl’s Match (The Thompsons of Locust Street Series) by Holly Bush – Review by Tracy Greenhalgh

An immensely well written historical contemporary romance with a dark undercurrent.
Payden returns to Philadelphia after a very disturbing and violent 5 year return to Scotland, he is withdrawn and sullen. Clarice is finding society life very underwhelming and struggles to dodge the wranglings of her mother, of marrying a gentleman and increasing their standing in society. Their relationship has its ups and downs, but their chemistry is undeniable.
The author describes the scenes so vividly that it is easy to really imagine you are part of the story.
I did not realise that this novel is in a series, it really stands strongly on its own, but I am going to backtrack to get a fuller all round vision of the family and past happenings.

The first book in the series and the first book by this author that I have read, and I can say I cannot wait for the next book in this series,
Ember is a healer, medically trained and when her parents found out that she possessed magic, they disowned her and bought her a patch of land and cabin to live in. Nursing injured and sick animals, shifters and hybrids back to health, most leave to go on their way but she is finding a few to stay, is this due to more than just her personality.
There is discontent amongst the humans and the group that has formed to eradicate the hybrids seems to have a link to Ember.
Can Ember and her steadily growing band of followers find the truth and change it for the better, the group surrounding her is evolving.
A well written and intriguing entrance into this evolving world.
Second book in the series by this author who manages to blend and fuse Young /New Adult, High School bully romance with angst and warmth that could bring a happy ever after.
In this well written book we follow the story of Cole, highschool king and Riley as their relationship develops from one of abject dislike but attraction and ,not good enough for me’. Things change when Cole discovers secrets about Riley and her mother. The push and pull relationship grows and changes as the characters continue to grow.
Another amazing read.
A 4.5 read
I was lucky enough to be able to move straight onto the second in the Serrulata Series after completing the first, and like the fist it is a really well written dystopian story.
The four consisting of Leora, Rolland, Aurora and Leoplod continue to grow their relationships, hone their magic and try to make sense of the world outside of the Border of the Realm as they head to New York which is now a fable. Whilst there continues to be issues within the Realm.
Relationships grow and meld, and the characters develop as consistently as in the first book. The world is described in such a way that you can almost see it.
Another really good dystopian read.
My first dive into a book by this author and I am so glad I jumped.
The World building is brilliant and the character development is continuously good. The introductions and back stories really set the scene, we are introduced to the Xanthos (magic users) .
They are feared and untrusted by others, they are easily spotted by their yellow eyes. We follow Leora of Mae who escapes her adoptive family and is almost sold into servitude. On her journey she bands together with others like herself and we follow them as they face many things as Comet HaleBopp streaks the sky.
A really well written book and I cannot wait to read the second to see what happens next.
A new author to me and a sub genre that I have not read before. I would read more by this author.
The characters are well written and the world building is done so that you feel you are part of the story.
Cutter is SoA of his MC and Emily is a Detective.
Not only do they have a difference of opinion where their lifestyles and work lives are involved but they have a niche need for their personal lives, they are involved in a DDLG relationship and the past issues that Emily has been through she needs the comfort that a daddy dom can bring.
Add suspense, chemistry, angst and the story keeps you interested till the end

I have jumped backwards into the series after starting to read further on in the series. I recently read the prequel and whilst this introduced characters book 1 really drags you into Cole and Riley’s story.
The characters develop well and the twisted and semi dark, bully groundwork is laid. The world built around their high school, sports and the relationships and history that some characters have as this story unfolds really makes you feel that you could be there.
Once again a book by this author that grabs you and holds you in place until you have reached the cliffhanger of an end.
A really enchanting book. The short stories cover multiple shifters, from Big Cats to Gargoyles and everything in between.
WE start with Elorah and Rowan, we meet Terra and Bryant,Ezekiel and Lorena to name a few.
Many of the stories could easily continue on to a full length book, and there were certainly 2 that I feel I need to know what happens. Saying that I found the book easy to read and enjoyed the ability to start and finish the stories in one or two sittings.
I will certainly be looking for more from this author

Really fully immersive YA fantasy romance, that I hope follows through in the following books in this series. This one, the start takes us along the enemy to lovers, arranged marriage path. I cannot wait to read more in this series.
The world building and character development is really good. I found it hard to put down,
The 7 sovereigns of the country are at the Bastian, the magical academy. Where we are introduced to multiple characters and their backgrounds are touched on. It is told in multiple POV which gives a better take on all the characters and their backstory.
Fated Mates, Arrangements, Werewolves,Dragon shifters, Fae, Witches, Necromancers and Royalty all in one place.
In this book we meet and follow Princess Amelia and Prince Dane as they navigate their relationship. Amelia is trying to finally make her own decisions, which means trying to get out of the arrangements her father has made and make her own choices. And Dane fighting the need to continue the job of alpha without allowing his tether to his fated mate control him. Will they be happy ever after?
The prequel to the series and what a way to start it all off, even though I am reading this part way through the series This book is short and sets the scene for the rest brilliantly.
We find where Riley moves to the area and Damon and Cole’s backstory.
Another intriguing story by this great author. Just because it is shorter does not detract from its depth.
I really enjoyed this read, from the title and blurb I felt it would be a quick read but I found it to be a longer read, but by no means is this negative. I found this book well written with character development and world building continuing throughout. The humour and warmth keeps you smiling whilst the added angst of dysfunctional family and families who are true units brings an emotion to the book that others may lack.
After reading it I discovered that it is the third book in a series and although reading them in order may provide background on some characters this book and I’m sure the others (if they are written in a similar way to this) would be just as easy to read as a stand alone.
The unexpected appearance of a bride in a froo froo dress in the car as he leaves court introduces Miller to Maisy, both of them have an intriguing past, they dance around each other, and the forced proximity of allowing Maisy to move in with his family gives this story another added layer.
The second book that I have read by this author (the first being Whispered \Surrender) this is the second in the series and is another duo collection.
Auctioned with Damian and Bryanna, Damian is contracted to find a kidnapped woman, and when he finds her wow, their chemistry is off the charts. There is darkness and deep feelings, the characters are amazing.
The second in this duo of books is Relentless and we follow Derreck as he tries to keep Layla safe and out of trouble as she is desperate to keep her sister safe. Touching in trafficking and Dominance.
Alpha male and strong female as with the other books I have read from this author have chemistry in abundance and a dark edge to keep you enthralled.
Again another astounding read, the continuation of the YA series about Makayla and her time at theGrave Digger Academy.
ANother year another set of changes, with a\ new head teacher, troublesome crones and more students: although not all of them are those we have met in previous years. There are places where people go to go away or be forgotten about and this involves Makayla.
The author continues to weave a web around these characters that makes you feel like you are part of the group. The development of these characters is continuous and interesting as they mature and grow. The world building is very involved.
A great continuation to series.
Another really great read by this author. Another book in the Echo Series that can be read as a stand alone or as part of the series in order, of which this is book 4.
We follow Curtis, after witnessing a murder he needs to stay out of the public eye, which is not easy when you are guitarist for a band as famous as his is.
Lina Cheung has worked security for the band before, but is now pulled in to be Curtis’ private body guard. Can they stay ahead of the Stiletto crime family , can they stay away from each other..
A fast paced and swings from the issues both Lina and Curtis have from their past, touching on issues with PTSD as well as blending many cultures on their travels trying to stay out of the limelight.
I cannot wait to read more from this author. Her world building and character development is really good.
A completely new author to me and although I did not realise it was the second book in the series I found it an extremely engaging read. The characters obviously have a back story that I am unaware of but the world building and character development are both excellent.
When you see the unexpected supernatural world there is no going back and what aspects of the supernatural Joey has been exposed to makes it very difficult for her to not see the dangers that are out there. Things they would never if believed. She struggles to get back to some form of normality. All the time with dreams and unexpected happenings.
I am really looking forward to backtracking and reading book One. My daughters are also wanting to read these and I feel that they would enjoy them,
When I read this book I did not realise it was the third book in a series. It really reads very well as a stand alone.
Mimi is a bussing journalist and amaetur sleuth that sees herself as a detective, she does come across a little ditzy but quite lovable and she is definitely full of enthusiasm especially in this case with the ‘cursed black diamond’
The story itself keeps you entertained and the characters develop as the story unfolds. It is not my usual genre to read but I found it quite enthralling, and the need to know what happens keeps you reading.
Certainly an author I will be looking at reading more from.
The third book in the series and I have been waiting to find out what has happened with Makayla, and once again the author has not let us down.
The story continues to evolve and is a little grittier and darker than the previous 2 but the plot and characters continue to evolve.
The Academy itself has had a turn around and is now where everyone wants to go but there has been a hold on transfers, and all who wanted to transfer out were allocated placements at other academies. So on return Makayla finds things very different. Rules are sharper and even the head mistress is being held under strong views from the Crones.
Can Makayla work within the new tough rules and make her way towards her destiny.
Another amazingly written book.
A new author to me, and not my usual genre to read but I am so glad I took the plunge into this world.
A dystopian world not like we know it, with specific layers and levels, control, safety and a hint of rebellion.
We meet and follow Frankie who has her life planned out but needs to get into the elite team, she completes many missions then is tasked with undercover work in the ‘poverty zone’. An area where mankind is almost the least of her worries. Leaving her safe life behind her, Frankie moves undercover to spy on those said to be making trouble. Are they really the bigger problem or is there more that Frankie needs to find, A well plannedDystopian read to keep you on the edge of your seat.
The world building and story line are well planned and develop quickly to keep you gripped. There are multiple layers of story that keep you transfixed.
I will certainly be looking out for more from this author.

A new author to me, an a genre I usually don’t fall straight into; but wow the author builds a dystopian world that not only covers the end of the world, civilisation being run by strict laws and decisions that you would take for granted are removed and they tell you where to work and who to marry, and how humanity can rise above.
The author drops you in and keeps you within the world described.
We are introduced to Lexi and her high aspiring father and a mother with many secrets. We follow Lexi as she fights with herself for what she thinks is right, we meet Reeves and watch as their relationship grows from one of complete unknown to trust and beyond,
Family relationships change as the world about them changes; and the way this is all written keeps you engaged and wanting to know more.
I will certainly look out for more by this author.
The first book in a new series by this talented author as they continue sharing their words.
This story we follow Tanjie who after her parents death carves out a life for herself, work and close friends and the eccentric neighbour who has a calming aura about her, Tanjies life is completely upturned when Maria is found deceased, she leaves a bookstore to Tanjie,
When a book store is not a book store Tanjie is pulled into a world that her parents were involved in, supernatural beings, rules and battles for control.
The world and character development is really good, The story follows the confusion, pain and trust issues that Tanjie and Alric both face in their own groups, but with the added problems brought on by the pull that they both feel to each other, it seems that everything is against them.
The book has left me wanting to know what happens next.

Once again the author manages to weave a web so tight that you cannot get out of it, a continuation of the Hidden Valley Elite series.
We follow along with Shane after the issues with Luke, the police and investigation and the return of his childhood nemesis.
Winter following the advice of her councillor and her now family returns to confront aspects of her past, the area where everything went wrong. Emotions run high and she struggles to move past certain aspects of the past.
The feeling that something is very wrong follows both Shane and Winter.
There is certainty a past aspect of bullying, and the constant angst that there is someone in the background, but who it is?? It could be a family member, a jilted lover, a stalker.
The rollercoaster of story keeps Aspen and Pheonix, their Grandad, Joe, the Uncle and cousins all continue to develop. The world building and continuity is great. I really am anxious to know what happens next.
Not my usual genre at the moment but I thought for a change I would delve into this historical suspense. And this book gives you suspense, and action alongside a fast paced (once you are hooked) story of self exploration and how life changes.
I can say I enjoyed it, it took me a bit to fall into the world described (again possibly as it’s not my go to genre) but the author really does pull you along with Simin (Fenimore) as they change their life from farmer to outlaw in the West.
The book does show how his life changes and that the grass is not alway greener. As with many historical reads there are mentions of behaviours that are not as much of our everyday life in this time. This does show that the author has done their research and sticks to the narrative and builds a word as close to what may have happened as possible.
I would certainly read more by this author.

A really interesting intriguing start to the series. We follow Jasmine, Blake and Lucy, what do you do when you find yourself dating your fated mates best friend.
Jasmine always follows the rules and is waiting for her fated mate to be joined in the temple. Her dreams and hard work are brought to an emotional precipice.
Blake finds himself dating Lucy even when trying to decide whether to go with his fated or his chosen mate, he cannot seem to stay away from either, and this causes a lot of emotional upset issues with both females.
Lucy is Jasmine’s best friend and has her sights set on being Blakes chosen mate. And she will not think twice about using underhand tactics, or throwing her best friend under the proverbial bus to get what she wants.
Friendships are put under stress and true characters are shown. Love, Lust, Desire, Heartache, all rolled into one. A fast paced book with an emotional story which leaves you wanting to know what happens next.

Yet another 5* read from this author, as the others in this series the links and character development continue to weave a web pulling everyone closer. The emotional rollercoaster continues, touching again on the darker side of human nature.
Vixen is dragged back into a past that she has tried so hard to move on from, a call for help and that is what the MC is all about helping those that need it. Prostitution, Abuse and trafficking are all hidden in plain sight. And it is these that Vixen is trying to leave in the past alongside a strong individual that she hoped not to have to bring in.
Again the Devils Handmaidens come together with Tank and his men, Panther and his, and the guys from Ollies Ranch, Ironside is called in but can he step up and face the history that is there.
The world that is being built around these characters continues to consume this reader and I cannot wait to read more.
The third book in this series that I have read in a row and I am in awe of how the author continues to keep their multi character development and world building as on spot as they do. We have constant input from Tink and her badass MC, Tank and his MC and family, the GRim Wolves MC, Panther and his men, and Ollie and his veterans ranch. Everyone has an important part to play in these books.
Taz the accountant and her autistic son are once again dragged into the past when Taz’s ex makes an appearance alongside his white supremasist militia. Taz has a dark and painful past including loss of her sons father and abuse, she has found her place in the Devils Handmaidens MC, where the MC family truly come into their own.
Enforcer or Travis to Taz goes from their on off relationship to fully blown away by his feelings for the brightly coloured semi hippy bike riding badass that is Taz, when he discovers her past and understands how strong she is to have survived he becomes more protective. Again mentions of abuse, supreme race , death and surviving are all involved and mentioned. WE are starting to build a picture of the world and how the underworld works and is linked in this world that is being built by the author.
