5 Stars Braving Lily (True Platinum Series Book 7) by Morgana Bevan
Braving Lily us a wonderfully written Rockstar Romance and is part of the True Platinum Series which can be read as a standalone as each book in the series focuses on a different couple. While this author is fairly new to me the other books I’ve read have been wonderful this one is definitely my favorite yet. I have a soft spot for opposites attract and Rockstars. The storyline flowed so well that I felt everything the characters were going through. The characters are fun relatable and fully developed. There is definitely chemistry between the main characters and hesitation at first. Can a Rock Star and IT have a relationship? Can he open his heart again? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I literally read this in one sitting because I had to know what was going to happen next. I definitely look forward to reading more from this Author.

Braving Lily was a great rock star romance. Lily is a famous rock star who auctioned off a date for charity. When she went to meet the date, she was stood up. For some reason, she cannot get over the fact that she was stood up and decided to confront the man. The man is Rhys, a divorced man who isn’t ready to date but is constantly being set up by his mother. After they do meet for the first time, both of them are intrigued with each other and decide to try a real date. While the two didn’t start on a great footing, they quickly start to really enjoy each other’s company. Lily is giving him feelings he hasn’t felt in quite some time, he finds himself trusting her very easily. He provides a private life and a non-caring about her fame mentality that makes her quickly fall for him. However, the problem both face is she is leaving for a year long tour so they try to keep it casual, but that is hard to do when feelings get involved. Can they both get over their past and present livelihoods to let this love story bloom? I liked this story a lot. I liked how it started with a girl going after what she “wants”, but the guy not wanting her just because she is famous. They advance quickly in their dynamics and I love how there was no bull in the story. The author kept it straightforward, always moving, with one issue, and a solution. I feel that while they experienced miscommunication, she kept that part short and sweet so I didn’t get pissed at the characters. I thought the characters were great. Lily was a strong, but vulnerable girl who goes after what she wants and doesn’t apologize for it. However, she is also caring and honest about her life. Rhys was also a strong, caring, honest character. He was upfront about his expectations, and while he had insecurities, his confidence was sexier. I will also mention that the sex scenes were just spicy enough for a nice romance-type story.

I love rockstar romances! They’re one of my favorites! I instantly knew I was going to love this book and I’m SO glad I read it. Also it’s my first rockstar romance I’ve read where the rockstar is female. I LOVED IT!!!!! Amazing characters and I just all around loved the story. Can be read as a standalone so I’ve only read this book in the series. I’ll definitely be checking out the others! If you want a book with angst, second chances, opposites attract type of romance book, this is for you!

This is the fifth book in the True Platinum series. It definitely functions as a standalone. I have read a few others of the series but not all, they feature some of the same characters but each book has a focus on a different character. Lily is a rockstar and Rhys is an IT guy. And they are about as opposite as they can get. Rhys has been divorced and his wife cheated on him. This makes him completely disinterested in anyone who plays games. This includes Lily. He finally agrees to meet with Lily and things go so well that they agree to go on a second date. What will happen once they admit all their feelings and intentions to one another. Can they look past their first observations and really get to know one another? I definitely recommend this one. It is such a well written opposites attract novel!

This is the fourth book in the True Platinum series. However, it definitely functions as a standalone as this is the first book that I have read of the series and I wasn’t lost at all (might I mention it definitely won’t be my last). This is the story of Ella and the grumpy drummer she has been stuck with for months. Both Jared (the grumpy Drummer) and Ella are looking forward to time away from the tour away at a friends cabin alone, meaning with absolutely no one else around, all alone. What they least expect is that the other will be at the same cabin with them. An awful situation becomes even worse when they get snowed in. The decide on a truce and try to make the best of their time together. Whatever that may mean. I love the enemies to lovers genre and this book is the epitome of it. I feel like both Jared and Ella are well written characters. They played well off of each other and had a good banter. I definitely recommend this!

When she does a favor for her cousin, Lily finds herself auctioned off for a date. The only problem is the date never shows, she is a rock star and she has been stood up. Taking matters in her own hands she shows up at Rhys’s home demanding the date.
Rhys didn’t even want the date but even he cant deny she is beautiful. The coffee date goes better then he expected, Lily is down to earth and the more he gets to know the more he likes. Can these two find a happiness neither expected or will the outside world tear them apart?
I liked this, the date was fun because he has no interest what so ever. I enjoyed reading their journey together, it brought a smile to my face. Definitely will check out the other books in the series.

Lily, the famous Rockstar and Rhys, the quiet IT guy completely weave their way into your heart in this fantastic read. After standing Lily up and being confronted by her about it, it doesn’t take Rhys too long to realise he completely misjudged her. Their attraction soon develops and is steamy to say the least! Braving Lily was a great 5 star read for me. Lily Tyler doesn’t chase me but when Rhys Jones stands her up, she refuses to let that happen. His mother won a charity auction for a date with Lily and Rhys didn’t even bother to show up!
Rhys is divorced after his wife cheated on him with his friend and he has no time for games. He sees Lily as an attention seeking person and wants no part of it. He finally agrees to have coffee with her and everything takes a turn during their coffee date. They actually set up another date. Lily is scheduled to leave on a long tour in a few weeks but maybe they can have some fun together without any labels until then. Everything goes good until, it doesn’t. Rhys carries some baggage and always feels like he’s not enough. What will happen when all their cards are laid out on the table and they are both honest with eachother about their feelings? I thought the book was well written. Loved the characters and especially loved how Lily was with Sienna and any other fan she meets.

Braving Lily is the seventh book in the True Platinum series by Morgana Bevan. It is a fantastic rockstar romance with a sweet storyline, an opposites attract element, loads of chemistry, sizzle, grump vs sunshine mc’s, the nerd/boy-next-door gets the girl trope, second chances, emotion, angst, trust issues, and taking a chance on love. This instalment could be read as a standalone as each instalment in the series focuses on a different couple. But having said that, you will probably develop a taste for Ms. Bevan’s work, as I did, and will definitely want to explore all the other instalments of the series, too. A strong sassy rockstar whose love life has been news fodder has made her wary of love and skewed her view on romance and relationships. He’s been burned by love in the past and has no intention of getting too close to the flame ever again. What does a charity auction, a meddling mother, and a forced date bring to the mix? If you love contemporary romance or rockstar romances, then you will really want to read all the sexy, heart-warming details for yourself… Bring on Book #6, Daring Ceri (due to release in August). This was a great 5 star read. I enjoy the Rockstar reads and this one didn’t disappoint. Once I started I couldn’t put it down. Lily puts herself out there for an auction to help a family member. Problem is the person stood her up, who does that? Rhys wasn’t thrilled about the auction and refused to go on the date. Will Lily change his mind? Rhys and Lily were both very strong characters. These two had my emotions all over the place. All of the characters added a great element to the story. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. This can be read as a stand alone but I suggest reading from the beginning. 1-click and get started today.

4 stars Braving Lily is an Opposites Attract Rock Star Romance story and the fifth book in True Platinum series. Each book is centred on a different couple but can be read as standalones. Morgana’s characters they are easy to like and become invested in them. The chemistry between the couple is most certainly steamy. The story line is well written and easily imagined with Morgana’s narrative. Rhys is in no mood to pander to a spoilt, rich little girl. One heart break is enough to set him straight on the fairer sex. No way no how is he going down that road. Not happening no matter what. Lily is not a walkover she is sexy, strong and sassy star and is not used to being ignored. She wants to meet the man with the audacity to stand her up. She won’t take no for an answer. I enjoyed the push-pull between these characters and all the frustration, angst, tension and drama we get to see as we journey along with Rhys and Lily story. You will need to read it to find out what happens.

This was a good story of opposite worlds colliding. Lily, lead singer of Brightside auctions off a date with herself for charity. Rhys, the blind date recipient via his mother, refuses to go because his mindset for the rich and famous don’t allow him to see beyond the surface. Upon finally meeting, the two share a chemistry that neither expected and both must be will to make concessions for the other. Lily fears Rhys will be persuaded by tabloid cover stories and Rhys begins to fear Lily is too big of a star for his dreams. This story was very sweet with a wonderful cast of characters. It takes us on a journey of how far love will let us go if we are faced with the scrutiny of the public eye and the misconceptions that tabloids present. Also, Rhys’s niece Sienna, is an absolutely adorable!

This one had some twist I did not expect but made me love it twice as much. What happens if your one week stand turns out to be a manwhore but this whole time you have been wrong? A story dealing with real life events or what I would think a real life pop/rock star would be like. Rhys and Lily have a honeymoon effect on you. The sappy falling in love, heated up sex moments to the insecurities causing issues. A great read.

Lily ends up in an auction, Rhy’s mom bids on her to be his date. He stands her up, tada,……let the adventure begin. I found this story to be funny, humorous and a bit humble. Wonderful writing to make them both human. I felt the angst and what they both felt deep in my heart. These two are meant for each other. The characters are well written. I found the story to be such that I was instantly pulled in because Rhy’s mom is a blackmailer that isn’t letting Lily off the hook and I want to know why… If you want to enjoy a great romantic suspense, check this one out.

All of the books are stand-alone and can be read in any order, however the characters do enter each book and if read out of order you may encounter spoilers. With that being said, I really enjoyed this story. The characters are realistic and you feel drawn into the story right from the start. I am going to be picking up the rest of this series soon to follow the others and learn their stories as well.

Who doesn’t love a good enemy to lovers romance? Ella is a free spirit who had a weeklong romance with Jared, a rock star. Ella and Jared’s story is full of action and spicy romance. Snowed-in with their former lover and the current enemy is the best way to get closer but would be enough to feel the attraction of the past or would this be a mistake? Always on each other’s last nerve and full of spit and vinegar, Ella and Jared eventually let their guards down and open up to one another.
Morgan did an amazing job forming a rock star and a girl who just wanted to get away from what she thought were real feelings to I can’t stand him anymore. The best part the author used the storm’s method to bring those emotions back to the character, a truly classic story.

The tension between these two from the beginning is off the charts and it only builds from there.
Ella has no problem standing up for herself and she proves it time and time again and has earned her time away now that the tour is over.
I love Ella and felt a kinship with her as she was nested under several blankets and layers of clothes during winter weather that knocks out the power. There is nothing worse than having to emerge from that warmth.
There is so much emotion in both of them and it doesn’t always come out in the best way or result in a positive ending.
Great standalone book and it only makes me want to go back and read the others. Will definitely be keeping a lookout for more by this author.

This was a really good book! I loved the tension, the characters, the spice and the romance! It felt like this book has just about everything someone is looking for in it. I haven’t read the previous books in the series but other than a few characters I had no issue with reading this as a standalone book. I really enjoyed reading this one and can’t wait to read more in the future!

I haven’t read any of the other books in this series, but this was an easy-to-understand stand-alone book so it wasn’t an issue. I also want to go back and read the previous 3 books. This was an enjoyable enemies-to-lovers story with a rock star and the patient woman that has to deal with him. I took a little bit to get into it, but I finished it quickly once I did.

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Defying Ella is the fourth book in the True Platinum Series. It can be read as a standalone. Ella and Jared will leave you wanting more. The chemistry in the book is so life like its amazing.
Jared is an up and coming rockstar. He puts on a mask to keep everyone at arms length. Then he meets Ella and she changes things. Then he’s snowed in a cabin with her. Can he go back to being the bad boy or will his need for Ella win out? The quote I chose for Jared is: “Your patience is endless. Ella goes to the Alps to get away from Jared. She doesn’t want him to see how mad he’s driving her. Being snowed in doesn’t help her case any. She goes from wanting to kill him to wanting to be honest with himself. The quote I chose for Ella is: “I don’t care. You don’t set foot in her flat. I’m going to be a regular feature at her Saturday lunch date with the girls, I don’t want to so much as sniff out your cologne. Do I make myself clear? You live your life, I’ll live mine. Make sure they don’t fucking intersect.”
Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

This is the first book I have read from this author and the first one of this series. I was unaware that it was part of a series but the cover had me intrigued to read it. This book was really great! Rockstar Jared blew into Ella’s life out of nowhere. Jared was the bad-boy rebel who didn’t let people get too close to him. He has anxiety, is grumpy, and would rather jump from bed to bed than let himself get close to his heart. Jared and Ella shared a week of pure magic getting to know each other. But Jared rolled out of Ella’s life as fast as he entered. Ella doesn’t want to like Jared because he’s a jerk to her, but her heart says otherwise. When they ended up on the same tour bus together it was going to be hell. When Ella gets the chance to put miles between them she can’t leave fast enough. When she gets to the cabin in the middle of nowhere Ella can finally relax after months of tension. When the door flies open Ella can’t believe her eyes!! JARED!! The two end up being snowed in with no rescue in sight. This could either go very well or horribly wrong.

When they end up working together, she cannot wait to get away and have some space for herself. Cue in the heartbreaker, forced to spend even more time together, the two discover more about themselves and what they feel for each other. Will they still feel the same after they can leave the cabin or will reality smack them in the face? I love enemy to lovers’ books! And this one, this was a great one. This is the fourth book in a series but can be read separately. I will for sure be going back to read the others!

Although this is the 4th book in the True Platinum Series, this is the first one I have read. It totally worked as a standalone. Jared and Ella are so different. Their constant fighting on the tour is noticed by everyone. So when the two of them get snowed in together no one is sure if either will come out alive. Can they survive each other? Will they get to the true bottom of their problems? I just loved this story. It was very raw and open. I could not put it down.

Ella has been away for awhile and has come home to help her sister with Sophia, her niece while they are on tour with her boyfriends band. Unfortunately Ella had a fling with the drummer of this band before the tour not knowing who he was, and now completely hates him. Jared feels he hates Ella as well but he can’t stop thinking about that week they spent together. Ella and all the girls on the tour are set to spend two weeks by themselves in a cabin in the Alps at the end of the tour. Since Ella is having such a hard time on this tour her sister tells her to go ahead a little early to the cabin to unwind. Unfortunately for Ella, Andy the owner of the cabin has promised it to more than one person, he also told Jared he could use it as well. While they decide how to stay in this cabin together without making things worse they get snowed in and trapped. Will they be able to get along and make things better or will this make everything worse?

This was my first time reading any of this author’s work and I’m sure it won’t be the last as I really enjoyed reading Defying Ella. Although this is the 4th book in a series, it can be read as a standalone. I hadn’t read any of the previous books in the series and didn’t feel that the author had left any gaps. All necessary information needed to enjoy and understand this story is given. In this book we get the story of drummer Jared and Ella who is the sister of another band member’s girlfriend. Jared comes across as a bit of an ass at the beginning but as his story unravels you find a very complex, tortured soul who just needs that special person to make him see who he truly is. I absolutely loved reading Jared’s story, although I admit I really wanted to slap him a few times. He really meets his match in Ella. And when they are snowed in together she realises that he has issues and is there to help him cope through the dark times. I loved Jared and Ella’s story. It’s angsty and hot all rolled into one. I was hooked from the very beginning and loved the journey right up to the very end. I definitely recommend this book.

It’s been a while since I have read a rock star romance, and Morgana Bevan reminded me why I love them so much!
To say Ella and Jared can’t stand one another would be an understatement, and almost everyone believes it’s because Jared lives up to every horrible rock star stereotype there is…womanizer, conceited, the list could go on and on. No one knows that these two spent a steamy and romantic week together before they knew who the other one was. Thankfully, she can escape him at a gorgeous, secluded cabin in the Alps, or so she thinks. Turns out he has the same idea and now the two of them are stranded together in the cabin in a snowstorm. Let the fireworks begin!!!!
I rarely give a book 5 stars when I really don’t like one of the lead characters, in this case, Jared. However, I thought it was genius on Bevan’s part. She made me really feel something for a character even if it was frustration and anger. I felt the same feelings Ella did, and that is exactly what every writer wants their reader to feel, an emotional reaction to their characters. Somewhere in the middle of the book, my feelings began to change just as Ella’s did. I began seeing why his behavior ran so hot and cold…fear. Then, my heart started melting, and I began to fall for him, again just like Ella.
I have said a lot about Jared, now it’s Ella’s turn. Oh my goodness, this woman has more patience than I would have had. She could sling insults back at Jared, but nothing that ripped him to the core. Yet, she always saw him for who he was, not the rock star, but who he was. She knew there was something special underneath all the arrogance he showed to everyone else. What was even more special about her, she wasn’t perfect either. She didn’t have her life figured out, but she never gave up when it came to the direction of her professional life or her feelings for Jared.
Now, that I have dissected the characters, I will address the story itself. I loved it! There was sweetness, angst, and lots of steam. If that wasn’t enough, Bevan addressed something that is plaguing so many people today, anxiety. As someone who suffers from it myself, I appreciate her bringing a spotlight to it. I hope that Jared’s story will bring light to someone who may be suffering from it. Thank you, Morgana Bevan, for giving your readers such a fantastic book!
