Aloha Series Box Set Books 1-3 by Jill Brashear

This is the first series I’ve read by the author. Try Easy, Try Me, and Try Right are the books in the series. Each can be read as a standalone, but they’re better all together. Each book is better than the last.

Try Easy (Aloha Series #1)

Keoni is a native Hawaiian and he is stuck picking up two people from the airport. When he sees one woman get off the plane he knows his heart is gone. Then Bones goes missing and reality crashes down on him. Going to Seattle and returning home without Lou. The quote I chose for Keoni is: “You deserve the best. I don’t know what I can give you.”

Lou goes to Hawaii for twelve days and isn’t really looking for a romance. She is leaving a great guy at home or at least she thinks he’s great. When she meets Keoni everything changes. She goes home, but she isn’t in it like she was before. The quote I chose for Lou is: “I don’t know anymore. I had my whole life planned out, then I met you. You weren’t supposed to happen. But when I thought I was going to die the only face I wanted to see was yours.”

Try Me (Aloha Series #2)

Declan is one of Keoni’s friends and he’s having a hard time dealing with the death of Eddie. Declan is having a hard time with his family. They don’t think he should be a surfer. The quote I chose for Declan is: “You were surfing. Not Sharp Park, but somewhere else. Somewhere in Hawaii, I think.”

Pearl has always had a thing for Declan. She doesn’t want to go after him since he’s a player. Then she ends up on the same flight as him. The quote I chose for Pearl is: “This job is for the birds. There’s a dozen out there better.”

Try Right (Aloha Series #3)

Claudia is Keoni’s ex and the one who broke his heart. She’s back and looking to reunite with him. Only she finds that he’s no longer single. She tries moving on only to find that she was part of a bet. The quote I chose for Claudia is: “I’m fine. Better get on with it. This might take a while to fix, and the show must go on.”

Henry is Penny’s cousin and is the one who gets Claudia into his bed. He knows that stuff happened between her and Keoni. He tries to make it work, but can he? The quote I chose for Henry is: “If you were really fighting for your life, you would want to bend your knee and give me a swift back kick to the groin.”

Highly recommended for Historical Romance lovers.

Aloha Series Boxset contain the three books in the series by Jill Brashear. It is a great deal, three books for the price of one #winning!
The series is set against the tropical and picturesque backdrop of Hawaii. There is a retro historical element to the story too, as it is set in the1960’s, which definitely added an extra element of interest to the stories/series for me.
The boxset contains:

TRY EASY (BOOK #1)
This is a vacation romance with a bit of a love triangle. Lou travel to Hawaii for a vacation, leaving her fiancé back home in Seattle. She soon meets a local surfer named Keoni, and a friendship is formed. With a fiancé back home, she fights her attraction to Keoni- what does the future hold for these two. Will Lou return to Seattle and her fiancé? This story makes for a great read….

TRY ME (BOOK #2)
This is a fake relationship romance. Declan, a pro surfer seems to be at the top his game. But that’s not really the case at all. There is a sea of pain he hides from the world.
Pearl is determined to follow in her mother’s footsteps and cement her place in the surfing world. Pretending to be Declan’s girlfriend wasn’t part of the plan…. but if it helps her achieve her dreams then she can pretend for a while. These two have so much chemistry and are perfect for each other… another wonderful addition

TRY RIGHT (BOOK #3)
We follow Claudia, a movie star trying to reinvigorate her career, and Henry the stuntman working on her latest set. Claudia is trying to recapture her past, and Henry has agreed to help. But along the way the lines of friendship begin to blur- and maybe recapturing her past isn’t so important anymore.
A sweet friends-to-lovers romance, with a little drama, plenty of chemistry, and a dash or two of angst…. just to keep things interesting.

Happy Reading!

Thank you, Jill Brashear.

Adorable! I didn’t read the previous books in the series, but it wasn’t really necessary. I could follow the story in this book alone. Such a cute romance novel. The writing was awesome and I really lost myself in this book. Read this book if you love a good romance story.

Hawaii is my place! The first time I stepped onto the ground on Oahu I knew I had found my home! The pandemic has kept me away, but this book took me back again! Claudia is a beautiful, romantic leading lady who is looking for her leading man. She hopes to find him when she returns to Hawaii. Henry is a rugged, deep-feeling stuntman on her set that has NO idea that she’s a big deal. They meet by chance before finding out they work together. Sparks fly! The electricity between these two is almost visible! Such an important story of love and trust in Paradise.

Try Right by Jill Brashear is the third book in the Aloha Series, but can be read as a stand alone!

Claudia is scraping the barrel looking for a job when Hawaii comes along. Perfect! She will be in the perfect area to hunt down her first love. One of her stuntmen, Henry, is almost instantly attracted to her, so he agrees to help her on her search. It’s crazy to see the things we will do to impress someone. Will Claudia be able to find her first love? Will he be everything she dreamed it would be, or will she be disappointed to find he isn’t who she remembers him to be?

Try Right (Aloha Series Book 3) by Jill Brashear is the third installment in the Aloha series but is a stand-alone read. If you are a reader who could get lost in a fun, beachy, retro setting, this book is for you. The Hawaiian descriptions pull you out of your chair and into paradise in 1968. Claudia is an actress who lands a small role on a Hawaiian based TV show, and jumps at the chance in order to save her career. Along with finding gainful employment, she is also looking for her long lost first love. When she meets Henry, a stuntman, their paths intertwine and throw them for a loop. These characters are very relatable and it is quite easy to be swept up in the tide along with them. If you happen to find yourself in a “reading rut”, not knowing which book to pick up next, I highly suggest this one. With the lush descriptions and lovable characters, it is a breath of fresh air. It’s a vacation in a book! 5 stars!

This was such a good book that I read it in one sitting. Loved the relationship between Henry and Claudia and that they just engrossed you in their story! This book was filled with adventure, romance, some secrets and perhaps finding something you weren’t originally looking for. This was my first read by Jill Brashear and will definitely read her books again in the future! This can definitely be read as a standalone book; I was able to follow everything without reading the first two of this series. I do wish the characters were a little more relatable with their careers, but their wishes and dreams can be applicable for anyone. Would 100% recommend!

Claudia thought she got the life and career she has been dreaming about for years now but then a scandal places her on Hollywood’s blacklist, her options are limited. When a small role is offered to her on a not so well known show, she has to take it. Lucky for her though, it’s filmed in Hawaii and she can use this opportunity to rebuild her career, find herself again, and maybe even find the love of her life she hasn’t been able to stop thinking about since her trip to Hawaii right after high school.

I really enjoyed a good portion of this book and the setting of Hawaii in the 1960s was so much fun. Henry was probably my favorite character in the book but he still let me down at times though he made up for it in the end. My biggest issue and what really prevented me from giving this 4 stars but the misogyny in the book. Yes I 100% understand it provided the conflict for the book and I did enjoy getting the male perspective in this a lot but it pulled me out of the story so quickly with some of the comments from the male characters. I appreciated though that the author really tried to balance it out with things like having the Feminine Mystique laying around in Claudia’s dressing room or the comments around her struggling to deal with men using her to get ahead and how the same action can positively impact a man’s career while harming a woman’s. Overall I think this was a really fun book, especially for summer, and I could get behind the romance. Would definitely consider giving the other books in the series a try (which i believe are all stand alones but all located in Hawaii?).

Everyone loves an underdog. I enjoyed that Jill did not stick to the script. Try Right is fun, witty, breezy, whimsical, romantic, and downright compelling. I was rooting more so for the ‘underdog’ as opposed to the ‘lost love’. The characters are relatable; the fear of Henry’s perceived inadequacies resonated with me and made his and Claudia’s relationship more touching and special. I will always be a fan of the girl/boy next door finally being enough and getting their deserved happy ending.

Try Right: A Friends to Lovers Romance (Aloha Series Book 3)Try Right: A Friends to Lovers Romance by Jill Brashear
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved the characters in this novel. You get very attached to them and feel their passion and love in the pages. When they go angry I could feel it and hear myself thinking “Chill out buddy”, the passion ignited on every page. Claudia was trying to hard to force something that shouldnt have been that she almost missed out on what she actually needed.
This story is a great example of not always getting what you think you want but there being a greater universe out there pointing you in the direction of something you need in your life.
This was a big life lesson book for me, teaching you to see whats in front of you and not always thinking things could be better if only…
Claudia and Champ are so perfect, they are opposites attract throughout the whole story but in the end what makes them who they are is very similar and so endearing.
This book taught me a few things from “back in the day” what they did in certain situations that is so different from us now that we kind of forget it ever used to be like that. As well as some history/ knowledge about Hawaii I did not have.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants a happily ever after , predictable ending, amazing love story novel.

I was instantly grabbed by this novel as soon as I opened it, from from first page. I also felt like I was right there in Hawaii and I absolutely loved it. Try Right is book three in the Aloha series by Jill Brashear. This racy little story is set in the late sixties, in Hawaii, and the two main characters are Claudia and Henry. I have not read book one or two, and while these are stand alone stories, I think I would have benefited from reading the first and second books before reading Try Right. Nevertheless, the story was enjoyable, with energetic characters who were witty, passionate and magnetic. Claudia was an actress and Henry a stuntman. Used to the finest of Hollywood, Claudia is given a career lifeline in Hawaii, where her first love is from. There were shenanigans galore and the laughs were frequent. A flashy, fun and crafty little romance, with a little sass and lots of heart. 4 stars

First and foremost, I want to say while this is the third book in this series, it totally works as a stand-alone in my opinion, but it will make you want to read the others if you haven’t already!!

With that in mind, this was my first Brashear novel, and I am genuinely so pleased to have found a new author to add to my “Must Read” list! I’d also never read a book set in Hawaii or the 1960’s and I wasn’t sure how I would like the combo, but Brashear is a gifted world builder, and her character development is second to none! I felt like I was walking the beach with Claudia at sunset with our platform shoes slung over our shoulders eating a shaved ice! Having never truly been to Hawaii, it was a wonderful escape into Brashear’s world, especially getting to meet the leading man!! Holy Smokes is he swoon-worthy!!
Overall, the book was a true joy to read, and I did it all in one sitting because I just couldn’t put it down. Flirty, nostalgic, romantic, and totally what true love is all about…well if you don’t count the angst and sorrow thrown in. But that’s what makes it real and relatable. My only hesitance in giving it the 5th star was the sporadic use of Hawaiian dialect. I’ve read books written in dialect before and find it helpful/enjoyable if used very sparingly. In Try Right I felt key phrases were overused and too many characters would speak traditional English and then randomly break into dialect, so it pulled me out of the conversation to figure out what they were saying or to remember “oh yeah, another reminder we are in Hawaii,” which I hadn’t forgotten. I understand this is a very personal reading preference and others may not even notice what I’m referring to. So, know I gladly and highly recommend this to lovers of love and true romantics.

This novel was hot hot hot! And I don’t mean because it was set in Hawaii. Disgraced Hollywood film star Claudia goes on location to Hawaii to film a low budget soap and in search of a past love. However, she gets more than she bargains for when she meets the rugged and daring stuntman, Henry. This is a raunchy, steamy love story. Claudia reminded me of Marilyn Monroe with her bombshell looks and 60s glamour. This is a perfect Summer read!

Try Right was my first book in the Aloha series, but I will definitely be going back to read the others! Jill Brashear created a wonderful world set in Hawaii in the 1960s – a very different time and age to today! The attitudes of men towards women amongst other things was well written even if they drove me insane as 21st century woman! The insights into the world of Hollywood/TV shows of the era and especially that of stuntmen like Henry were fascinating! Definitely recommended as a fun, somewhat spicy read!

This story was sweet and dreamy. Claudia and Henry are dream characters. They give you all the feels and all the romance. While searching for a lost love you would’ve thought Claudia would find a new much more tantalizing love. A love so pure it has the readers falling too. I really loved how the characters were written. You got to bond with Claudia because she didn’t let game go to her head. She was down to earth and real. Henry is a dream. I was ready to be written into this story just to shoot my shot to him. These are the type of male characters that make dating for reads in real life so hard. Are expectations are really high. We want a man with flaws but also goes above and beyond for his woman. Definitely try this author out you won’t be disappointed!

I was pulled in from the beginning with Claudia’s surfing lessons, or I should say attempt at surfing. She ended up having a great connection with her trainer. We then jump ahead a few years. Claudia finds herself back in Hawaii and she is determined to find her soulmate and get her career back on track.

Henry is a stuntman that Claudia meets on the set of her new job. When he agrees to help her find her soul mate, they start to grow closer. Will they be able to find him? What will happen when Henry’s secret comes out?

Overall I really enjoyed this book, the characters were great and I really enjoyed this story. If you’re looking for a great read that pulls you right in this is the one for you. This is the third book in the Aloha series that can be read as a stand alone, however it does help you get to know the characters a little better. Loved it!

Try Right (Aloha Series book 3) by Jill Brashear. This book was so good! Its the story of actress Claudia whose career has dried up. The only part she can get is a bit part in a tv series in Hawaii. She can’t afford to say no and she has other motives for wanting to go to Hawaii other than paying bills. She met her first love in Hawaii 6 years ago and has thought about his everyday since. Henry is a stunt man and has always been fine with not being the leading man until he meets Claudia. He is smitten the moment he sees her walk on set. She’s gorgeous and he will do anything he can for her. When he agrees to help her find her one true love is he opening himself up for the heartache of his life? This book is so fun and retro. This was an enjoyable and engaging read with a friends to lovers storyline set in Hawaii in 1968. I was swept away by this descriptive Hawaiian Retro romance which featured great characters in Claudia and Henry. Although part of a series it can be read as a standalone story, however having read and enjoyed this novel I am looking forward to reading the previous two books in the ‘Aloha’ series. Claudia has gone from being one of Hollywood’s most sought after actresses to having a bit part in a tv series, the only good thing about this is that it’s filmed in Hawaii. Hawaii also happens to be where her first love, a heroic surfer, lives and Claudia is keen to track down her long lost love. Claudia asks Henry, a stuntman on set to help her find the surfer, however Henry doesn’t really want to find him as he’s falling in love with Claudia himself.
This is a wonderfully written heartwarming romance story which had me happily turning the pages. The authors descriptive narrative really bought Hawaii in 1968 to life, so much so that I felt fully immersed in the story and could almost feel the Hawaiian heat. Claudia and Henry are likeable and relatable characters who are just meant to be together, but unfortunately Claudia thinks she should be with a surfer she was once in love with. I was cheering them on hoping that they would get their happy ever after and could not put the book down until I had found out whether they did or not. No spoilers, as I recommend reading this novel.

This was a fun read and even though it was the third in the Aloha Series I was able to read it with no issues. I will be going back to read the rest now that I have loved this one so much though. This one is set in 1968 in Hawaii and is so beautiful to read. I felt as if I was propped up with my fav drink on the beach watching the adventure unfold before me as the waves crashed on the shore in front of me. Try Right: A Friends to Lovers Romance (Aloha Series Book 3)

This was a super cute and well written story. I have not read the two previous books in this series of stand alones, but I will for sure go do that.

I fell in love with her style of writing and love how she portrayed her characters and scenes so realistically. Henry is such a gem and stand up guy and Claudia is so relatable with striving to be strong, independent, and yearns to be taken seriously. I love how they balance each other out so well but still have their faults- characters can’t be perfect! She even nailed the personalities of other side characters in the book; spoiler, men can be sleazy.

The scenes she sets are wonderful and descriptive and not too wordy. I’ve never been on a movie set or to Hawaii but Jill paints a clear picture that is easy to visualize. The plot is fun, not too predictable, and keeps you interested from start to finish.

I would definitely recommend reading this book on vacation so you don’t have any interruptions!

Try Right is the third book in the Aloha series by Jill Brashear. This is my first book by Ms. Brashear, so I really didn’t know what to expect going in- but am happy to report that she is a wonderful storyteller and weaves a great story.
Again, as I seem to be doing a lot lately, I have jumped into a series on book three- and while this book was very enjoyable without knowing what happened in the previous two books- I am definitely interested in going back to ‘meet’ the other characters and find out what happens there.
The book is set against the tropical and picturesque backdrop of Hawaii. There is a retro historical element to the story too, as it is set in 1968. This fact definitely added an extra element of interest to the story.

I really enjoyed this love story. It was full of emotion and the author does a great job of building the characters and describing the place they are in.

Claudia  is an actress. After a mistake which has made her career take a downward turn she finds herself sent to Hawaii to work. Last time she was in Hawaii she met someone who made her feel alive so even though the production she’s working on isn’t the best she lefts with hopes to rekindle that romance.

What she doesn’t plan for is Henry.

Henry is a stuntman on the production she is working on. He’s not her normal type she goes for but the chemistry between them is electric and instant.

Can Claudia forget about her old love and embrace this new chance at love? Are they as perfect as they seem? What will happen with Claudia’s production ends? And will a stupid bet Henry was forced into ruin everything between them?

When you are in slump and decide to take an adventure to find your lost lost but fate has a funny way of catching up with you.

Claudia is in a funk in her career as an actress, belle of the ball a few years ago she was at the top of her career then a couple of years later she is like kryptonite nobody wants her, so when an opportunity of a job comes along she jumps at the chance plus it will take her back to the island and the one that got away. Although she is not prepared of what happens when she arrives.

Henry is good at his job, he steps in to help out the leading man when there is a dangerous stunt and he has never wanted to be the celebrity he is happy in the shadows until this day in she strolls onto the set with that outfit and instantly Henry is attracted to her, but will she be attracted to him the stuntman.

I loved this story the slow burn of the main characters was a dream to read, I sometimes feel the authors rush bringing to people together but this was poetry. The instant chemistry and banter between these two was excellent reading and with such a well developed story you will be delving into their world with every word written. I feel for Henry straight away and have yet another book boyfriend to add to the very extensive list, although I had not read the series and this was my first book it flowed brilliantly and the author gave you enough information to follow the characters and story as a stand alone book. I can’t read more from this series and this author in the future.

This is the third installment in a series by this author. I have never read the previous two books or any other books by this writer. I was intrigued by the cover as I am drawn into books about the beach. What I found was a FANTASTIC story that sucked me into the Hawaiian waves from the beginning. I was quite concerned because I hadn’t read the previous books but after reading it I don’t think that’s necessary. I could literally see this story happening before my very eyes that is how vivid the writing and details were. Not only did she tug at my heartstrings, but she took me on an emotion roller coaster ride. I have never been to Hawaii but have always wanted to go. This book has only made that desire increase because I can only imagine how breathtaking it is in person since the scenery in my head was so visually stunning. The characters had great chemistry yet so much turmoil that had me on the edge of my seat wanting to know what the conclusion would be. I intend to pick up the previous books to read them as I have fallen in love with this writer. I hope that she will continue their stories.
