The story that Kate MacInnis has created here is phenomenal! Morgan is a very likable, busy ER nurse, who is recovering from brain aneurysm surgery and now can see ghosts! When reading the synopsis, I fell hard for the line, “Just because you haven’t seen a ghost, it doesn’t mean they aren’t around. You can’t see germs either, but you know they exist everywhere,” because as a nurse I know it’s true! When I first started this book, it took me a minute to get over the fact that our main character, Morgan had brain aneurysm surgery and she was back working full time in a busy Emergency room. Once I got past my hang up, I really enjoyed the book and all the spooky things Morgan experienced. The characters, alive and dead are a hoot! And there is even a little romance thrown into the mix. I look forward to the next book for sure!

I enjoyed reading Nicholas Harvey’s forward introducing us to Nora Sommer. I knew right away I was going to like this chick! The book starts off with action and suspense and has you going all the way through. I especially enjoyed the Florida and Grand Cayman descriptions that added to the intriguing story line. One of Nora’s hobbies to clear her mind, is diving which I thought was so cool since I also like to dive and got to read about the different Caribbean fish she came across on her dives. Nicholas Harvey’s writing was fast paced yet easy going and I look forward to the next book in the Caribbean Suspense Series and may need to go back and read the AJ Bailey Adventures as well!

Ancient Reflections is a wonderous take on classic Greek mythology. While most ancient Greek stories focus on the male gods and demigods and women take a back seat, Ancient Reflections is about the females who make up Olympus and the Underworld. In this trilogy we are taken through the everyday lives of some of the mighty Greek gods and goddesses. Familiar heavy hitters such as Zeus, Hades, Aphrodite, and Athena appear, and we get to know some of the others like we’ve never heard before. If you are a fan of Greek mythology, definitely check this book out!

This book will grab you from the beginning. The unique characters and world building is unlike any book I’ve read before. It’s fast paced and fun. Angelina, is living a quiet, virgin existence until the she finally meets the two men she’s been fantasizing about. Not only is she fantasizing about them in her dreams she is painting them during the day too. These two men are brothers that are called, “hybrids,” they are part angel and part vampire and they’ve been waiting to find Angelina for a long time. Try something new and go on this sexy ride filled with demon butt kicking! You will enjoy it!

Maggie didn’t know what she would get when she left home as a young woman. She didn’t know the friends she’d make the men she’d marry or the places she’d go. The title “A Strong Woman Overcoming Circumstances” sums up this novel perfectly. Life was not easy for women in the 1940s and 1950s, however Maggie was determined to strike out on her own and be different than the average woman. That comes with a whole new set of difficulties. I recommend this book to anyone, but especially women who wonder what our mothers and grandmothers had to endure. It’s in the little things of this story. I particularly enjoyed the author’s note at the end where she explained her reasons for writing this book, the parts of the book that were fiction and the parts that were based on her own family. A good read indeed!

Are you ready to fall in love with Stacy-Deanne’s characters? How about ready to dive into some deep south history and hurts? If you are, then you’re in for a treat. Meet Zenni, a strong woman who stands up for her beliefs, and meet Colton a man who knows what he wants.

‘“Or change it,” a male’s voice boomed with authority, but also had a soft edge that pulled you out of the lush surroundings and made you feel at home. “That’s what I’d do.” Colton Sage came into view, those frost-blue eyes immediately hitting Zenni’s soul. “Well, you must be Zenni Parker.” His graze caressed her curves.’

You may be able to guess what their motives are both romantically and with the plantation. But better you keep your suspicions to yourself and enjoy this well written book.

Right from the beginning I knew I was going to really like these books! Melodie is a fun, loving, character. The London stage is set perfectly. And two opposites fall in love unexpectedly. While she is trying to get him his ex-back mind you. What a fun romp! The second book, The Wedding is romantic, sexy, and hilarious! The characters are a good deal of fun. I see this playing out in my mind like a movie. These two stories are my first introduction to Laura Rossi. Her writing style is charismatic and entertaining. I’ll be looking to read more for sure!

Vanessa is recovering from an abusive relationship and finds herself wildly attracted to Arkon. She is learning to trust herself and maybe just maybe she’s open for love. If not, at least the lovemaking is hot! Meanwhile the planet she is inhabiting is being overtaken by alien worms creating a nasty storm and trying to destroy those already living there. Thankfully our heroine has sisters and a wise and insightful grandmother to the magic and the ways of the cosmos. I thoroughly enjoy this world Calla Zae has created. It reminded me of Guardians of the Galaxy and Star Wars with its own spice and yet entirely its own. I’ll be reading more of Soldiers of Saedo!

Dahlia is back on the scene this time with a whole crew to support her! A series of murders has her and Alex Creed working together again whether they like it or not. Things are complicated by untrustworthy cohorts and multiple lovers and memories that are not Dahlia’s own. This book is just as action-packed as the last. It’s a fun ride and enjoyable listen on Audible. I look forward to the next in the Nite Fire series.

Iron and Chains are about to brawl to the death for their secrets until they are forced to share with one another. The secrets are deep, and dark and cast a shadow over these two. The brothers finally man up and realize it’s not only about them but their loved ones too. There is light at the end of the tunnel, and they all finally get the help they need to move forward. It’s a heartbreaking then heart-uplifting story of the ugliness in the world and the strength of the human spirit. This story also has a share of comic relief as we get to know some of the other brothers in the Grimm Wolves. I picked up book four first and look forward to going back and reading the other three.

Shamrock and Clover are not only the name of the title and the lucky plants in this story, but the name of the main characters. Clover and Patrick aka “Shamrock” have a meet-cute, they don’t like each other at first, then they go out, then she finds out he has a past, and you know the rest. An enjoyable Romantic Comedy at it’s best. It’s a quick and easy read and perfect for a rainy day.

Praise for the character development in Apocalypse! Seth, Miriam and the whole crew are going through a good deal of emotional growth not to mention an Apocalypse at the same time! Thank you, Theresa for writing such fascinating characters. One of the best Young Adult novels I’ve read in a while. The Epic tale of good vs. evil feels so appropriate in the Garden of Edenia. I look forward to the next installment and future works by this author.

Divine Vintage gripped me from the beginning. The whole concept of the series is entertaining. Tess opens her own vintage shop and the items she has for sale brings her back to the time from where they came. It’s quite a fun ride. Her characters are also realistic which makes loving them and hating them easy. Overall, quite an enjoyable read.

Reading, Nite Fire: Smoke and Mirrors, was a pleasure. The paranormal world C.L. Schneider built is unique and exciting. The main character is a dragon! That’s right part human part dragon. The dialogue between Dahlia and her partner in crime, Creed is entertaining. The writing in general is creative and humorous. Not only is the world fascinating, but the characters are also likeable, and it is action-packed. This is the 3rd book in this series. I need to go back and read the first two books. I, also, look forward to reading more by this author!
