This is my first read by this author and I really enjoyed her writing style. I was pulled into the plot within the first chapter and was willing to lose sleep just to read a little more!

This story is filled with suspense, mystery, secrets and a murder. The author’s ability to bring the book alive and make the reader feel like they are in the book is incredible. I really could not put this book down! Cate and Patti have been friends for years. They have hidden a secret, but what happens when that secret may come to light? I recommend not only this book, but any other from this author as well. She is a great writer that will always keep you on your toes.

This is not the first book that I have read by this author but I do think it has to be my favourite so far. I was pulled into the story of Cate and Patti so easily, their lives so intricate and binding. The mystery that surrounded them really piqued my interest and I just had to find out what was going on. The author really takes you on a journey with the characters so it feels like you immersed in their lives. I absolutely loved this book and could not recommend it any more.

They both have a Huge secret that could be the downfall of one of the girls. Twenty years later, the secret may have to come out. It’s so very hard to forget something that is life altering. Read on to see what happened. This author has true skills when it comes to storytelling. Her writing is clear and easy to follow. Once I read the first chapter, I knew I was in for the long haul. This coming of age story has you traveling down memory lane, and visiting those times you had in high school. I love all of the characters in this book, and hated some too. But this story is believable and scary at the same time. ENJOY!!!

This was a fabulous read of friendship, betrayal, family drama, trauma and regret. A story with two great friends and their lives from back in the day to present day. The two of them were so easy to connect with and I really felt all their emotions through the pages.
I love how this story really comes full circle, the moments in the past really gave good insight into the characters and how it shaped who they were. The details made it really easy to picture everything in my mind making it a really entertaining read!
I have read other books by this author but this one is my favorite of hers so far!

This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites yet. I enjoy this author’s writing skills as well as her attention to details that give her stories a realistic feel This is a well written story that is full of murder, secrets, suspense and a past that comes back to haunt. The characters are connectable and keep the story engaging. This is a fast paced story that was hard to put down. The twists and turns are like no other and you don’t want to miss them. They pull you into the story and keep me sitting on the edge of my seat just waiting to see what would happen next. Cate and Patti must decide to open up wounds from the past or do they keep them hidden. Problem is secrets can never stay hidden. What happens next with these two I highly recommend reading this book to find out. I enjoyed their growth as well as the growth of the plot which made the story easy to read. This is a great pick up and you don’t want to miss it.

And just like that, I think I have found myself a new genre to add to my list of favorites. This authors work shows that she is so passionate about what she writes about, and that she has the life experience to bring out all the emotions that one would feel whilst reading about the ups and downs that life has to offer us. I really was expecting to have an edge of your seat read, but instead, this slow burn of a novel really does engulf the reader in all aspects. I personally feel as though my sisters are the Patti to my Cate, and I will be forever grateful that we found each other when we did. Cate and Patti are both very strong female characters, both having chosen a different path in life but ultimately relying on each other to get them through the toughest of times.
I thoroughly enjoyed the throwback as we’re getting to know them and their friendship, as well as their families, to really grasp how important lifelong friendship is. I thought I knew what was going to be the end game for this novel, but as I kept reading, I found myself laughing at the absurdity that I could predict what would happen. I would love to tell you more about the story you’re about to read, but I don’t want to spoil it for you. Be prepared to have your mind blown, and to be able to escape into this masterpiece the moment you open it up. I very much look forward to reading other works by this author and have a lot of respect for her as well. Highly recommend!

Depending On You is such a fantastic story of family, friendship and discovery. The author is so good with the twists and turns as the 20 year old mystery unravels. You think you know what is happening, but then another twist is added to the plot that just gives you a shock. Such an incredible story and journey that I went through with this book. I felt incredibly attached to the timeframe and characters storylines since I was also a senior in 1998 and my own best friend and I experienced our own traumas throughout our lives yet still remain close today. I love that the author can give us a picture of these girls lives that is faced by many in this world and not an imaginary perfect life. The author has again given us a story that you will be immersed in and won’t be able to put down until the end.

I love this author within my heart, with nothing short of passion. This author always creates a story and characters that hold you onto the edge of your seat. And most certainly do not you go. The way the story moves and develops, is so realistic, which I love. The story of this one, was as real as it could get.
This one was a true hearted book for me. The undying friendship between Cate and Patti really took flight. I loved how much they cared about one another. That is what true friendship is, you are there till the bitter end, no matter what that would be. What I have loved about this author’s writing in the past, and especially this one, is how you think you know what’s going to happens and the car totally takes a detour. I loved how the shocking events that led to another from a different event kept happening. It kept things interesting and the story was not full in any shape or form. I was hooked and really loved he characters And the whole plot of the opened case, I should have known things I was not aware of would surface. I was intrigued, and sucked in as I read. A must read for sure! Compelling and fast paced!

I had just began tis book today, and I finished both beautiful and moving stories in just one sitting. I was so moved, I was a violin player before, so this one really spoke to me at first glance. I did not expect my heart to feel so much as I read. Both stories impacted me, in more than one way.
For me in the account of both stories, I moved by the overalls story on both. Both involved a hope and a dream, and as well, a love like no other.. I found both came with a lot of love and a lot of sacrifice. I really connected with the characters in both stories. The author had woven a story on both accounts that gives feelings, emotions, and that impact you would only hope to gain from reading a story. I f finished both and I felt so much, I wanted more, I loved the writing technique and how the author drew me in and held me, and played a song on my own heart strings as I read. Beautiful written words, truly flowed throughout my reading. I thank this author for this beautiful gift they created. Loved this book!
The two stories, were both different but yet connected and flowed ever so perfectly. I was moved and felt I was watching a musical act that is best felt from within your heart. Loved this book, and loved the author. Highly recommend this book and author. I will for sure be reading more by this gifted author!

It’s been a minute since I read a historical romance but I really enjoyed this one. And I liked that while it’s a Regency romance, it also brings in Russian aristocracy. You feel for the characters, especially Charmaine, who seems to be caught between her desires and her social responsibilities as well as her responsibilities to her sisters’ wellbeing. There’s plenty of intrigue and pining, but Charmaine and her sisters are also pretty unconventional, which was really enjoyable to read. If you like Bridgerton, this is the book for you!

I have to admit that the beautiful cover made me want to read this book. I am a huge fan of historical fiction, especially from this era. This story takes place in the 1800s and all of the elements that a reader could want are included: mystery, romance, politics, danger, societal drama, and historical background. This story caught my interest quickly and the writing was as beautiful as the cover. It was extremely hard to put down! I found myself connecting with the main character, Charmaine, and her struggle between what she wants and her responsibilities. Despite the story taking place in a very different world than the one I live in, I often feel this way as well. A good author makes the characters relatable, which causes the reader to become invested. This is the first book in this series and I look forward to reading the next one.

I did enjoy this book. Even I don’t normally read books that are written during an older era. This author did a great job of describing the clothes and scenery. Makes you feel like you are actually there. The love story between Lady Charmaine Brightley and Duke Konstantin Rostov is written so beautifully. Definitely recommend it if you love old love stories.

I thoroughly enjoyed this engaging historical romance which was full of period details which made me feel immersed in the story. The storyline follows the Brightly sisters, and this novel focuses on Charmaine Brightley, who in order to protect her younger sisters, when they lose the family’s inheritance to a distant male cousin, makes plans to make a practical marriage match. Charmaine believes that romantic love is a ridiculous notion, until she meets a stranger at her own masquerade ball and she can’t deny their instant attraction. Duke Konstantin “Kosta” Rostov had to abandon Russia and travel to England following a tragic duel. Kosta sneaks into a masquerade ball at Cortwood Manor, and when he meets the alluring Lady Charmaine, their chemistry sizzles. Kosta is forced to serve his cruel stepfather and so when he is sent back to Cortwood, he wonders why his stepfather wants him to seek out Charmaine. When he realises his stepfather is out to destroy her, can he go through with it, after all Charmaine has captured Kosta’s heart. The descriptive narrative really brought the setting to life and I loved the main characters, Charmaine and Kosta have a definite connection and I liked how their relationship developed. I look forward to Charmaine’s sisters getting their own stories.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I was so impressed with her writing style. The story were written in a way that easily caught my attention and then held it throughout. I enjoyed premise of the story as well. It had more depth to it than a lot of stories within this genre which was nice to see. Midnight Masquerade is the first book in The Brightley Sisters series by Halley Larkin. I loved meeting the Brightley sisters and following along as Charmaine, the elder sister, sets of on a quest for love. The sisters hold a masked ball to raise funds for a worthy cause, enter a mysterious stranger who immediately captures Charmaine’s interest. After three ‘failed’ seasons of not finding a husband, she is quickly approaching the point where she will be considered an old maid and ‘off the market’. As the older sister she holds the fate of not only herself, but her two younger sisters, in her hands. She feels the weight of this responsibility weighing on her shoulders and knows time is running out. Meeting this charming and mysterious stranger at the ball has her hoping she may have finally found her ‘match’ and the solution to her problems. But he leaves before she is able to discover his identity. Now her future depends on uncovering who the masked stranger is. Add in a Duke with his own pressing problems and a past that haunts him, some meddling sisters, an ailing father, reputations at risk, a nasty ex and his vengeful father, agendas, the ‘ton politics, and societal expectations of the day- and things not only get a bit tense, but also quite intriguing. This was a great 5 star read, I was pulled right into this historical romance that gave me a Cinderella vibe.
Charmaine is in need of a husband to help keep her family home. When she meets Kosta at a masquerade party there is an instant connection but he disappears at midnight. Charmaine and her sisters try to find out who Kosta is. What will happen when she finds him? Kosta has his own story with some secrets of his own. What will happen if Charmaine learns his secret?
Overall this was a great read with several twists and turns that added a great element to the story. All of the characters were great, love the sisters. Charmaine and the Duke’s story is one for the ages! I enjoyed the fairytale effect and fell in love with the story with every next word. The characters had great chemistry and I was so happy with the progression. I loved how the plot flowed and the story was just entertaining! My first from this author and definitely won’t be my last.

I love the cover in this book it’s very clear. Both if the main character is this book are relatable and you can envasvaionn there regency romance. Charmine and Kosta are going through a tough time. The plot works and you can tell it was well though out. Many twist and turns it’s a great read.

This is one enchanting masquerade that will change both of their lives. The story is nicely written, and the world-building is mysterious and delightful. With a web of lies and secrets, drama and twists the story is set to entice lovers of historical romance.

This is such a beautiful historical romance. I was instantly transported to the past, where Charmaine has to look for a suitable match if she doesn’t want her family home to be passed on to a distant male relative. It isn’t fair that a woman had to make such choices back then simply because she was a female. However much Charmaine wants to do what is best for her family and her home, she still wants that true love even though she fears she will never find it. She ends up crossing paths with Kosta and the attraction is immediate and undeniable. She doesn’t feel that he is the match that she should make but her heart tells her otherwise. He’s hiding a big secret that can make all the difference for their future. I really enjoyed this book, it’s absolutely a swoon worthy romance that had me hooked from the first page. I’m looking forward to finding out more about the other Brightley sisters in future books.

Historical Romance never fails to make me giddy and excited! The historical insight and the vivid details were a delight to the imagination. This tale was a beautiful story with fun, delightful, and relatable characters that help set the scenes.
Midnight Masquerade features our heroine Charmaine who is selfless and loyal. With her father being ill she makes it her mission to marry well to secure the future of her sisters. Unmarried and past the respectable age she does not expect a love match or true happily ever after. Upon meeting Duke Konstantin “Kosta” Rostov at a masquerade she hosts all thoughts of love being delusional are out the window. Both are smitten with each other, and are determined to set their own destinies. A means to an end soon becomes a winding path to love

For a young woman in the historical London and her sisters who are on the brink of losing their family home when the oldest who is responsible for the younger ones meets a random man at her masquerade fundraiser that she starts with a dance.
This book has twists and turns from the start and I don’t want to give too much away but it is amazing and worth the read especially if historical romances are what you enjoy.
