True Hero by Susan Owensby
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Ally finally decides enough is enough the pain, suffering and humiliation will eventually kill her. When it comes to her son she will do whatever it takes to protect him, his health and well being will always come first. Ally refuses to let her son endure any torture from the monster that turned her life upside down and turned out to be her worst nightmare. Ally has chosen the only path she has and she has chosen a new life on the run, with a new identity. As long as she follows the rules, always paying cash, no bank account, never let anyone close, no relationships, they would be ok, right?
Jonah is a previous military man, Navy SEAL, when he decided not to reenlist he took over the family’s security company with his brother. Jonah is sexy, handsome and some. He has had his eye on one sexy freckled brunette beauty for years but she keeps hiding herself away. Jonah’s instincts tells him there is something up with this beauty and he sets out to discover just exactly what is up.
Will Jonah be able to find out Ally’s secret and convince her to trust him? Will Ally finally find her True Hero only to lose him? Will Ally be safe in the little town she calls home? Will she do what it takes to keep all those she loves safe? Will the monster of her past finally find her? Will Ally finally lose the battle? Will Jonah be able to keep his beauty safe?
This book is a romantic thriller and I could not get enough. I am a sucker for a SEAL. I love the relationship Jonah has with his brother, they just cracked me up. Jonah is every woman’s dream man. My heart broke for Ally and all she had to endure. Frank and Frannie also made me laugh, you definitely want them on your side in a fight. Susan definitely sent you on an emotional roller coaster ride. This is a gripping story that you will not want to put down.
