Bound: A Magnus Blackwell Novel (A Magnus Blackwell Novel #2) by Alexandrea Weis – Review by Sheri Schrader

Bound: A Magnus Blackwell Novel (Book 2)Bound: A Magnus Blackwell Novel by Alexandrea Weis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bound by Alexandrea Weis and Lucas Astor is the second book in the Magnus Blackwell series. This is the continuation of the story of Lexie and Magnus. Set in New Orleans the novel is full of ghosts, voodoo, and the past coming back to haunt the present. This could be read as a standalone but I would not recommend it because it picks up after the first novel. I was excited to see the series continue and was not let down by this book. The book is emotional and mysterious with lots of thrills. Magnus is amazing and love the strength of Lexie. I look forward to more in this series and from this author.

Scotland Yard Exchange Romantic Suspense: The Complete 5 Book Series by Stephanie Queen – Review by Jenni Bishop

Scotland Yard Exchange Romantic Suspense: The Complete 5 Book SeriesScotland Yard Exchange Romantic Suspense: The Complete 5 Book Series by Stephanie Queen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Scotland Yard Exchange Series Boxed Set by Stephanie Queen is a bundle of intrigue and charm. Where there is excitement abound, more action than James Bond, more twists and turns than a show ride, laughter that brings tears and romance to make you all gooey. ANNNNNNNNNDDD did I mention men who are too hot to trot??????? I have previously read Stephanie’s Beachcomber Investigation series and loved it. This boxed set takes it all back to the beginning, so I now have a better idea of the characters and where they all fit. Reading Stephanie’s work is always a treat that leaves me feeling good with all the antics that these characters get up to.

Get on it and enjoy the ride and laughter.

BECKONED, Part 3: From Los Angeles With Love by Aviva Vaughn – Review by Angela Hayes

BECKONED, Part 3: From Los Angeles with LoveBECKONED, Part 3: From Los Angeles with Love by Aviva Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“If I know what love is, it’s because of you.”

Beckoned: From Los Angeles With Love is the Third part of the “Beckoned” series by Aviva Vaughn. This instalment of the series is where it really gets interesting! The whole story/series has been fascinating and captivating- but this book takes it to a whole new level. Ms. Vaughn has upped the ante, so to speak, and produced a story that I devoured in matter of hours. I couldn’t put it down and HAD to find out what was happening. The books just seem to get better and better…. And the love triangle of sorts/the ‘threat,’ and the emotional roller coaster that this story took me on had me sooooo conflicted. I love the characters and thought I knew how their story would play out. But Ms. Vaughn brought in a bit of a twist, a surprising element, that really drew me in and held me captive the entire way!
I read this book about a week ago and have been mulling over how to do it the justice that it deserves. The whole series has been a surprising find, I never expected to love it as much as I have/do. Ms. Vaughn had my emotions and allegiances all tied up in knots, And I loved every minute.
A lot has happened since the first book and Barcelona. Angela and Soren have had an interesting journey. Now, their relationship will be tested like never before. Will it survive? I really don’t want to give away too much because this story is brilliant, and you really should read it and discover all the juicy details for yourself. I highly suggest reading the first two books in the series, before beginning this one- as the story is a continuation from book one and will give you a better understanding of characters, motivations, backstory, and overall storyline.
This book gives a new meaning to the word sizzling! There are some no-holds-barred romps that singed my eyebrows and melted the screen on my kindle!
This is definitely the best of the books, so far. It had everything you could want in a great read- it was captivating, sentimental, emotional, romantic, seductive, sexy, realistic and entirely believable. I am now really anxious about the next book, and to find out how the story will end.
Another fantastic read from a great author!

Thank you, Ms. Vaughn!

A Gamer’s Wish (Hidden Wishes Series Book #1) by Tao Wong – Review by Angela Hayes

A Gamer's Wish (Hidden Wishes #1)A Gamer’s Wish by Tao Wong
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Gamer’s Wish is the first book in the Hidden Wishes series by Tao Wong. It is a GameLit urban fantasy that has a bit of an RPG feel to it- with action, adventure, magic, genies, humour, secrets and danger.
The story is about what happens when Henry discovers a genie who grants him 3 wishes. What would you do with three wishes. Well, if you were Henry, who has a love of RPG games, then you might be tempted to make your fantasies a reality. We follow along as Henry sets off on his adventure. But, sometimes our fantasies aren’t always the fun and games we thought they’d be.
The character/s are interesting but could use just a little more depth. The story, while being intriguing needed a bit more drama, tension or surprises to make it more compelling.
This is a fun, light-hearted, quick and easy read, but was a little slow to get going as the author established the story.
I would definitely read the next book to see what happens in the story.
An original, and interesting concept!

Thank you, Tao Wong!
