I have read many paranormal books and I’m happy to say that this is an original piece of work. There is romance, intrigue, supernatural beings and mythology all thrown in together. The addition of mythology adds a nice twist to the story.

Sera Dover is an orphaned witch whose power is making her go blind. Ian Macon is a werewolf whose heart has been broken in a million pieces. When they get together, it’s electric. It is also against the law. Each species has to stick to their own, no intermingling allowed. You can be friends but nothing more. Though Sera tries to keep it just friends, the attraction is undeniable. Ian doesn’t care about the law, he knows he loves her and will protect her with his life. With someone trying to kill her, it will take all her friends coming together to protect her.

I haven’t read book one in the series but Ms. Kells did such an awesome job with her back story that I was never lost. There are a lot of little details that are important to the story which you only realize later. It is in these complexities that make her writing so great. This is the first book that I have read from this author and definitely won’t be the last. I’m looking forward to the next chapter in this series.
