The Lies We Tell by Brittany Butler – Review by Angela Hayes

The Lies We TellThe Lies We Tell by Brittany Butler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Lies We Tell by Brittany Butler is an interesting story that took me on quite a ride. Ms. Butler is a ‘new-to-me’ author whose work I was quite excited to dive into. From the blurb, to the cover- this book had me intrigued enough to one-click and jump right in.
The story follows Natalie, a self-confessed liar, and her story twists and turns so many times that I really had no idea how everything would play out. I was left guessing, literally right till the end. There were lots of surprising developments, some humour, drama, betrayal, steamy moments, and plenty of mystery.
The story jumps around quite a bit, from the past to present, and back again- as well as jumping chunks/years of timeline. For the most part the transitions were done fairly well, but I felt that there were times they were quite a bit confusing and somewhat disruptive to the story.
But, I did enjoy it enough to want to explore more of Ms. Butler’s work in the future.

Thank you, Ms. Butler!
