Hazed (The Hazed Series Book 1)Hazed by Brittany Butler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hazed by Brittany Butler is book one in the Hazed series. Taylor is on her own for the first time, and she wants to enjoy making mistakes and making her own choices. And then she meets Hayze and her life really begins, her first love and heartbreak. You feel for both the main characters, at times they are hard to connect with, but you want to finish the story and see it through. Hazed is full on drama, firsts and regret.

Shock is too tamed of a word for how I feel right now. Hayze is bad the guy your parents tell you to stay away from. The boy that gets you hooked and then leaves you. But that’s just the surface of Hayze. Taylor sees that deep love and vulnerability inside him. Taylor makes him want to be and do better. I liked how Taylor still kept a flare of innocence about her. Yes she is breaking out of her shell but she is playing it smart. I’m not sure how she survived her father but I loved how she handled him. The author gives you a lot to think about in this story. How far is too far? Can you really trust someone after so many lies? When do you give up on them? I need to read book two asap because Hazye is low key a mad man.

Hazed (The Hazed Series Book 1)Hazed by Brittany Butler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hazed by Brittany Butler is the first book, I’ve read by this author. I wasnt really a fan of the book however the writing was good. Hayze is the sexy bartender where Taylor starts to work. There is an instant attraction between the two. Only problem is Hayze has the bad boy vibe going. Hayze is with a different girl every night and girls throw themselves at him on the regular.
Taylor doesn’t have much experience in anything. She grew up the daughter of a pastor and never had the chance to do anything the other kids in town did. She left home for some freedom. She is starting college and doesn’t really know anyone aside from her roommate Lea. Lea and Hayze happen to be pretty close but, Taylor doesn’t realize just how close they really are.
Of course Taylor and Hayze end up seeing each other. I understand she is a sheltered girl but come on, how does she not see things right in front of her. I liked most of the characters and think the author did a good job but, I just didn’t like how blind Taylor was made out to be.

Hazed by Brittany Butler was a phenomenal college romance read! It’s intense, emotional, touching and heart-wrenching, it was everything I wanted and more! This is the first book in the Hazed series and my first book by this author, but it certainly won’t be my last!

I found that the storyline flowed really well and yes at times I found Taylor to be frustratingly oblivious, but it made her even more relatable as we often ignore suspicious behavior from those we love most. The chemistry between the two main characters had me hooked from the beginning until the very end and I can’t wait to continue this series to get answers to all my questions.

Ok so I have been officially Hazed…This is my first Brittany Butler book and all I can ask myself is Why? I loved this story, parts were not easy to read but that is because they were written in a way that made them feel so so real. I could feel the emotions these characters were feeling, I swear I could. The struggles that plague Hayze and his constant battle to prove he will fix them felt very real and I found myself falling hard for him and wanting so bad to help…Then on the other side I also felt every emotion that Taylor was experiencing and agreeing with her as far as wondering if things would ever be different..This one had me all messed up and then it ended and here i sit wanting…no…needing more…

I loved every word in this book, I adored the characters, even the ones that angered me but they were written so well… The family aspect angered me many times and my heart was totally with Taylor and how she was brought up.

Im totally rambling here…I can only say Read this book…it was written beautifully and I MUST have the next in this series as soon as possible. I also much go look at what I’ve missed by not reading this author much earlier.

Loved it!!

This is a story thats hard to read as its so relatable.

The characters of this story (Taylor and Hayze) are very well written and so relatable you feel like you are living their lives with them.

Taylor is a young innocent woman who leaves home to go to college. She starts working at a bar where she meets Hayze.
Hayze is the bad boy, the player who treats women as playthings. As much as they try to fight it they fall for each other but the relationship is toxic.
Hayze has secrets from his past and his present life that he cant share with Taylor and this leads to loads of disagreements and conflict.
It all comes to a head when Hayze’s secret life affects Taylor and he has to come clean.
Will this revelation be to much for Taylor? No matter how much you love someone can you survivie in a toxic relationship?

This book has left me wanting more, wanting to know the outcome of these peoples choices

Hazed (The Hazed Series Book 1)Hazed by Brittany Butler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hazed by Brittany Butler is book one of the Hazed Series. This book is recommended for readers over 17 due to some of the subject matter. The book does end with some loose ends so be prepared to want to read book two right away. This book is THAT good. I read this book in one sitting and can’t wait to read book two.

Taylor Thompson finally has some freedom. She was accepted to and moved to a college an hour away from her strict controlling father. Now, her decisions are hers to make. Spending time with Hayze Clark seems like an easy decision for Taylor. But little by little lies are told and secrets come out of the woodwork and Taylor’s not sure she has the energy to fix Hayze and the issues he seems to have. Not at the expense of her heart at least. Will these two have a future?

I was so conflicted on how to feel throughout this book. On one hand, Hayze is clearly a lost soul. On the other hand, the relationship doesn’t seem healthy for them. They are both great characters, very realistic and relatable. I just so badly want them to find happiness. This is such a great book!

Hazed is the first book that I have read by Brittany Butler and one that I really enjoyed. I liked the real feel to the story and I found that I was easily engaged in what I was reading. The author’s writing was really good, real, raw and emotional at times. I liked that I didn’t find the story too predictable either which meant I was guessing what was going to happen. I liked the characters, I think they are characters you need to get to know and I found that the more I read the more I learnt about them and the more I liked them. There were some difficult subjects in the story but the author wrote about them well. Taylor and Hayze both had their own problems and I really felt like I was right there with them, particularly Hayze and just wanting the best for them both.
I am definitely looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

Hazed (The Hazed Series Book 1)Hazed by Brittany Butler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A good book is supposed to evoke feelings and emotions. This book certainly did that for me. I’m not sure what rating I want to give it so I’m going to free write and see if it comes together for me.

This is a Y/A coming of age/new age story that ticked me off in a lot of ways. The decisions the female protagonist makes are infuriating. I wanted to shake my kindle so that I could shake her and tell her… Well I can’t tell you what I would tell her because then that would just ruin the story for you – wouldn’t it?

This story has a lot going for it. The characters are all meaningful in the role they play in the story. The friendships are strong, family of choice is vs family of origin is explored and parent/child relationships are complex. There is a lot going on in this story but it was all very easy to follow. This is one of those books that I COULD NOT PUT DOWN BECAUSE I HAD TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN.

By the time I finished, I really wanted to jump into the next book in the series, but if I didn’t get to sleep I wouldn’t be any good on Monday morning.

How am I going to rate this story? I will rate it 5 starts for a couple of reasons:

1. I finished this story at midnight last night, it’s now 6:20PM and it still owns me and my thoughts. I’m invested in the characters and want – no NEED – to find out what they do next.

2. There is an aspect of the male protagonist that I completely identify with and I like the way his character was written. Instead of being completely vilified, he is still (presumably) a successful student living his life the way he wants to.

3. The family “afterward” is explored in such a way that it felt human and real (even though it totally ticked me off).

I am grateful the next book is already written so I can jump right in.

I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT BOOK! Hazed is the first book in the Hazed Series by Brittany Butler. This story follows Taylor Thompson in her journey to become her own person. Coming from a home where her father is a preacher and didn’t allow her to do anything on her own terms, Taylor moved an hour away to go to college so that she can become someone completely different. Boys were not even in her view at this point. She just wanted a different life. That is until she meets Hayze Clark at the bar she begins to work at. Hayze is the bartender and the local man whore. He has his own set of problems with his own father. He’s never wanted a relationship until he met Taylor. Now he wants it all…with her. This is such an emotional rollercoaster. So many twists and turns that you won’t expect. And of course…a cliff hanger! So yes, I cannot wait for the next book to come out! I love the characters in this book and I love the interactions between all the characters. This is really a great story! Definitely a book that I would recommend.

Hazed by Brittany Butler is the first book in the Hazed series. This is an intense book that deals with college independence, romance, opposites attracting, and addiction. The story is about Taylor who has left home and the strict rules she is used to following. She meets Hayze, who is a bartender where she works. There is an attraction that can not be ignored.
The story is interesting and kept me wanting to read to find out what happens to them. I did not necessarily relate but can understand that first taste of independence that Taylor is experiencing. Some of the topics were really tough to read about but were a necessary part of the story. It lent itself to the ups and downs and emotions of the characters. Overall, I enjoyed this book and will be looking for the next book to continue the story.

Hazed (The Hazed Series Book 1) By Brittany Butler. This is the first in a series that I’m sure I’m going to love. This story definitely had my complete attention from beginning to end. With characters that are complex and well developed. A storyline that deals with difficult subjects and is well written as well as paced nicely. Hazed (The Hazed Series Book 1)Hazed by Brittany Butler

Hazed is the first book in the Hazed & Unfazed Series by Brittany Butler. This is based on a true story- with elements of college romance, opposites attract, drawn to the bad boy, secrets, lies, obsession, and addiction, all playing a part in this interesting book.
Taylor Thompson thought college would bring her the freedom she desperately wanted, by getting her away from her incredibly strict father and the small town she called home. Getting a job as a waitress, introduces her to Hayze Clark, the sexy, tattooed, bad-boy bartender- who turns her world upside down. What follows can be hard to read at times- it’s intense and confronting.
The characters were really well developed, but I just couldn’t connect with them like I would have liked to. It did hold my attention though, right through till the end- and the story is set to continue in the next book. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series to find out how everything plays out.
Unfazed (Book #2) and Ruined (Book #3) are both available now, so there is no waiting to be able to continue the story.

Thank you, Ms. Butler!

Hazed, book one in the Hazed series is written by Brittany Butler. It is a young adult romance that deal with a few issues which is more suited to a mature audience. I was taken in by this story from the beginning. Taylor’s character intrigued me, but Hayze captivated me. I wanted to solve the mystery that was him. The author was brilliant at spinning his story, keeping me on the knife’s edge. He was an enigma that had me very intrigued.

Taylor and Hayze were a puzzle desperately begging to solved. I loved everything about this story. The good, the bad, and the mystifying. There were ups downs and everything in between. Having not read this author’s work before, I went in not knowing what to expect. A joyful thrill was what it was. It was also emotional and gripping. Hazed is a 5 star story that will stun and dazzle. And leave you gasping for more.

5 out of 5 stars

The story Hazed (The Hazed Series Book 1) by Brittany Butler is a new adult romance book. It is a story that draws you in and I found myself not wanting to put it down until I had finished the last page. It is a book about two people who can’t seem to stay away from each other. Taylor Thompson and Hayze Clark meet when she gets a job at a local bar. That Hayze is popular and could be called a player is not unnoticed by Taylor. Taylor is a young woman who has felt controlled by a strict father and wants her freedom. She has started school and is a bit innocent as to college life. She starts living a life that is far different than before. Hayze is a young man that never has a problem catching the attention of young women. It is not unusual to find a group of young women around him. Then he meets Taylor. The relationship that starts between these two include times of tension/conflict. There are secrets, lies, and tears. Read to find out what happens between Hayze and Taylor. There are some sad moments and ones that make your heart hurt for both Hayze and Taylor. I am someone who loves a story that can pull you in and make my emotions go up and down the entire time that I am reading it. There are also times when you wonder what is going on and what could possibly happen next. There is intense and emotional dialogue. There are also additional characters that are introduced. I enjoyed reading about them and the part that they play in the story. Some of them are friends and are helpful and others seem to have their own agenda. This is a book I would recommend reading. It is the first book in a series.

I loved this book and couldn’t put it down until the last page. This story is a little dark as it contains sensitive material but it made the story real for me. This story is about Taylor. She comes from a resistive home and manages to fall for her roomates brother. But the problem with Hayze is that he has a drinking and drug problem. Their story is an emotional ride for sure. I found myself hoping that there was a happy ending for them. It is worth picking it up, a must read!

I’ve always had a crazy imagination and I loved writing. So, I started writing Forever Careless to see if I had it in me. It was too much fluff for me, however my friends loved it. So, I wrote another, this time I pushed to boundaries of fluff.

One day, while in a very bad mood, I thought of a story without a happy ending. One with real problems and real people. A story that was very close to my heart. It nagged me constantly. Months later, I sat down and started Hazed. At first, he was going to be apart of the Forever Series. Just come in and wreck their lives. Instead, I went another route.

Only weeks later, Hazed was finished. I was obsessed with it. It took me over a year to finish my first novel and weeks to finish this one. I knew what that meant. I liked to write about bad people who do bad things. I like to get inside their minds and feel their crazy. So, if you’re looking for hearts and flowers, you won’t find them here. My stories are real and they aren’t pretty.

The Lies We TellThe Lies We Tell by Brittany Butler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Lies We Tell by Brittany Butler tells us a story of lies and deception and how easily that can overwhelm your life. Overall, I enjoyed the characters in the book, and there were many twists and turns leaving you unsure of what was going to happen in the end. I liked that this could be realistic fiction with a lesson of how lies can unravel and take over your entire life, not knowing what will happen next. The book was well written, but some of the transitions from past to present were sometimes hard to follow. This is the first book I have read by this author, and I can easily give It 4 stars and I would definitely read other books she writes.

This story is told from mostly Natalie’s perspective. Brittany Butler is a new to me author. Aside from the actual plot, I found the story to be lacking excitement until about halfway through. There was very few laughs, a little bit of action, and a lot of life lessons. It wasn’t the type of book I could read in one day. The story jumps between present and past until about halfway through, when it all merges and makes better sense. The story is a second chance romance that touches on some real life situations that might be hard to read for people who have experienced miscarriages. There’s a bit of language suitable only for adults. 3 stars!

The Lies We TellThe Lies We Tell by Brittany Butler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Right off, I will tell you that if you are looking for a fluffy romance novel, this is not it. The Lies We Tell is full of dysfunctional characters and the sticky situations they get themselves into. Overall, the story was good, but I wasn’t really into the switching back and forth between the past and present. I would just be getting into the story and then it would change lanes, which works in some books, but I think a chronological telling would have been a smoother read.

The main character is…perpetually messed up and full of bad decisions. I really wanted to like her, but she comes across as a basket case. And the people she has in her life aren’t much better. I think this book shows just how important open and honest communication is in relationships, and just how devastating it is when people don’t have those skills.

While I wasn’t completely taken in by this book, the more down-to-earth story can be a good change of pace once in awhile.

I have not had the pleasure of reading anything by Brittany Butler before The Lies We Tell, but once I saw that catching cover and the luring blurbs I knew I had to give it a go. I am glad that I did. This was a different bit of a read for me. I knew that I wouldn’t really get along with or connect with the main character very much but still the concept was gripping. Natalie is a liar, and she has no problems admitting it. For me that would drive me nuts. She also has some serious communication issues but that may just be a personal opinion too I am not positive. So we follow the life of a liar, and it is pretty messy and entertaining. My only complaint would have to be the major time jumps. Several were just darn confusing as a reader to piece together. Otherwise I really enjoyed this and look forward to seeing what else is out there by Brittany Butler!

A plot twist? In a book about lies? What?!
But seriously, I did not see that coming and it made up for almost everything else I wasn’t too fond of.
Natalie is a liar. It’s pretty helpful as an author, I would imagine. But she lies about everything and honestly it got old after a while. The lies were something I could relate to since I was a pretty big liar as a child and it would be about the most ridiculous things that I didn’t need to lie about but it would make whatever situation I was currently in just a little bit easier. As with our lovely main character Natalie, it doesn’t hold up well in the long run. SOOOO many of her problems could have been solved with a short conversation and although I know this is how Natalie operates, but this is really similar to when characters make stupid decisions for drama’s sake. Not a fan of that. This instance is a bit different since Natalie has always been like this but still.
The story gets pretty intense and the twist is worth it.

“There is no room for your past when you have a new future.”

“The past doesn’t matter… It is just a part of the lies we tell”

“He ages like fine wine. I, on the other hand, age with Botox.”

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it was almost like a “blind date” read because the blurb is so vague (I really like the blurb doesn’t explain the whole book). THE LIES WE TELL focuses on one main character with three very important secondary characters who move the story along. It is told in single POV in past and present tense. While tense is always mentioned at the beginning of a new chapter, there were times when I didn’t know whose past we were going to be reading about – or what timeframe. I had to slow down and pay attention so I would know who I was reading about.

It is a well thought out story and I was surprised by the weight of the story. This book isn’t all fluff and romance. There are certain times in the story that I wanted to throw my Kindle against the wall because I did not like what was going on and there were times I wanted to shake them all and tell them to move along and don’t look back. In the end, this was a satisfying read.

I give THE LIES WE TELL 4 super solid stars.

We Tell lies to for the most part because we don’t see a way around the situation. Or we tell lies to make our live seem better. Natalie doesn’t really know what she wants but she knew what lies to tell to get out of what she didn’t. I don’t know if I could ever be friends with the woman who ruined my marriage . Yes you can move on with your life. But to actually have conversations, dinners and outings nope. I was super sad about Collins but Jack made up for it. The story was well written. The author made the characters more flawed and believable. I wasn’t a big fan of Natalie but she kinda grew on me.

An amazing and fast paced novel, I could not put The Lies We Tell by Brittany Butler down. Natalie is a runner and has lived a life of half truths. She has also endured a lot over the years. In enjoyed reading how her past and her lies caught up with her and changed the course of her future. I also loved that she was an author and has to learn to not let what others think affect her. I feel like she really matured as the novel progressed. I also enjoyed Tabitha, Collin, and Jack’s characters. Each one had their own interesting personality. The love triangle was also a great mix to the storyline. I really enjoyed reading it!

The Lies We Tell by Brittany Butler is about Natalie Conner. Natalie is a self-proclaimed liar and she is living a life where the lies are piling up on her. This was my first read by this author and the blurb drew me in. The story is interesting and brings up some current topics and thoughts. I overall enjoyed this read which I found intriguing. There are jumps back and forth in time to explain Natalie and her situation. These to me were good but choppy and at times confusing. I had to really pay attention to know where in Natalie’s life I was reading. If you like a book that is a fairly quick read with some interesting story this is a good read. I will be reading more from this author in the future.
