Rebel Heart is the second book in The Immortal Kindred Series by Clara Winter. It is a paranormal romance, with vampires, supernatural themes, suspense, action, drama, intrigue, and a touch of mystery. Again, Ms. Winter spins a captivating tale, which is an original twist to the vampire theme.
This book is Annie’s story whom we met as Millicent’s friend in book one. We get to discover so much more about her, and how she got to where she is. The story spends a lot of time in the past, as we follow Annie on her journey. I really like her as a character and was engrossed in her story. There were a few surprises that I didn’t see coming, and coupled with the incredible world building skills shown by Ms. Winter, made for a really great read.
As with the first book in the series, this was a terrific story, it was a little slow to get going, but the pace picked up and the story flowed wonderfully well. Ms. Winter crafted a story full of superb paranormal elements that were entirely believable and made the whole story ‘come alive’. I am really looking forward to the next book, due out in July this year!
