Well this book started off in a way i’ve never experienced, but it sure is memorable. This was a very quick read and i won’t recap the synopsis either. But I did laugh and enjoy reading this book and this authors take on what happens after you pass on. Can’t wait to dive into the next book.

Misfortune of Song by Christy Nicholas is the fifth book in the Druids Brooch series. Each book can be read as a stand-alone. As with the previous books this one is well written and captivating. The characters and the story just seem to come to life as you are reading about them. It was easy to picture yourself in the setting the author created. The pace of the book was perfect, it flowed well from start to finish. Another book I have thoroughly enjoyed by this author.

Misfortune of Song is the fifth book in the Druid’s Brooch series. It can be read as a standalone.
The author has done a superb job of weaving an enchanting story. The characters come alive on the pages and the plot sucks you in. I loved the strength and sassiness of the main character, Orlagh, even though she does show her youth by making some rash decisions. There are many twists and turns to the story and everything may not be as it seems.
Misfortune of Song is a great tale of young love, heartbreak, betrayal, magic, and adventure.

The Chosen (The Orb Quest Series, #1) By Cari Schaeffer Rated 4 stars
This is a good strong start to a interesting story. I was drawn in right from the prologue and it didn’t let go until the end. This is filled with action, suspense and wonderment. These four have quite an adventure ahead of them! I am excited to read the second in the series to find out what happens next.
This is my first book by this author. The story flowed and engaged nicely and had ups and downs. The characters were easy to identify with and seemed fun and they acquired some exciting powers. I can’t wait to see how they are able to use them in a real world scenario. I enjoy the identifying markers that make these four different. What can they do in the future?

I really enjoyed Yearning Young, the second book of the Burning Britely series from Deidre Huesmann. I would recommend that you read the first book before you jump into this one, just to kind of have and idea where things are and who the characters are. This continues with the coming of age theme for Jeff and Braeden, only told from Braeden’s point of view this time. I really enjoyed that twist and seeing things from his angle. This does touch on several emotional and touchy topics that are often overlooked or not discussed enough among teens or young adults like they should be and like I mentioned in my review of the first book this would be a great tool to introduce the topic among classes or children of your own etc. I love how Huesmann keeps things realistic and raw without drowning out the the topics at hand, and yet she keeps the storyline at the forefront to keep the reader fully engrossed. I can’t wait to see what is to come next! Thanks for the emotional and thought provoking read Ms. Huesmann!

I truly don’t know where to start with Knights Who Won My Heart, or better yet I don’t know the exact words that I am looking for that will do this book the justice that I want to give it in this review. I have followed this series from the very first book, Knights After My Heart, which I suggest is where you start if you have not read the full series, and then complete them in order for the best experience. You will want to grow along with the Lia and the rest of the characters that you will get to meet and fall in love with. I absolutely just could not put this down till I found out how things would turn out for everyone in the end. My only sadness comes from the fact that this is the conclusion of the series. I do however look forward to finding out what we will get next from Sonya Jesus. Whatever it is, I am sure it will be as fantastic as this series if not better!

First I would highly recommend reading this series in order as this picks up after book 1 ends. In book 1, we follow Jeff, and now we get to follow Braeden. He intrigued me in the first book so getting to to see more was welcomed. While I can’t give too many details as this is best read as the story progresses, I just have to say how much this book made me feel. While I know this is fiction, it just brings to light that these things do happen in everyday life and some may not ever show they have a life like this behind closed doors.

Yearning Young by Deidre Huesmann is a beautifully written young adult story about life and what it means to be different. This is the second book in the Burning Britely series. The emotions I had reading this story were very real and my heart hurt for Braeden. The story is from Braeden’s point of view and he is dealing with all the hormones of being a teenager and being “different” from others. One thing I love about Braeden is no matter what life throws at him, he always sees the good in the moment. This story is about friendship, loyalty, strength, weakness, and pain. It is one that I recommend all teenagers read that maybe one day they will understand the pain and suffering of other people’s actions.

The Protector: Mac is the first book in the Cover Six Security series by author Lisa B. Kamps. I probably would have given this book a fifth star had I known that there was a prequel to it. While it can be read as a standalone the first couple chapters left me feeling like I was missing a good chunk of the storyline. Once I got past that point though I genuinely was sucked into the story. Tabitha (TR) is a reporter working on a little story for her paper when all of a sudden inexplainable things start happening to her. Gordon “Mac” Macgregor is former military and part of Cover Six Security Company and he’s vowed to protect TR no matter what. This story packs a punch and has a little bit of everything that makes a good book…action, intrigue, romance…now if I had only known about the prequel. I will have to check it out while I wait for the next installment of the series.

That is until they are in the local park after dark and discover a mysterious door in the woods. “The Chosen” is a wonderful opening story to what I can already tell will be an amazing series! I am a HUGE fan of sci-fi, especially historical sci-fi and this book really spoke to my kind of nerd! Cari Schaeffer is building a fascinating world of powerful orbs, secret societies and the four teenagers who are “The Chosen!” Do yourself a favor and just read this book to find out what I mean! This book was a little short for me, since I love getting lost for days in a story, but I can tell it will all be worth the wait. Here is hoping Cari Schaeffer can deliver soon since I will be eagerly waiting the next installment in The Orb Quest Series! Five stars from me!!

This is a tried and true story done with a twist. This author takes the teenager on a mission trope and flips it on its head. I found that although this is a short story, like an introduction or set up, it didn’t lack anything. The characters were fully developed and the plot kept me flipping pages faster and faster. The thing I love about books like this one is that even though I think I know some things, I’m still surprised at how things turn out. I finished reading this book and instantly looked for the next one. Book two has yet to be released but believe me, I will be looking for it.

What started as a small hunt for something to warm my heart on a cold winter night, something maybe within the seasonal feel, not only led me to this wonderful novel, Love on the Line but Love on a Limb, which started it all for me. I have been quite speechless actually for the words to do proper justice to not only my feelings that I have but those that are provoked while reading the book. I do know for sure that I will not go into details, that is one thing you will need to dive into not just this book, but also Love on a Limb for yourself in order to truly appreciate the journey to be had. Matt and Mikayla will definitely make sure you feel the gambit of emotions though, tears included if you are anything like myself, so you will want to have those comfort items and a box of tissues to keep you company while you read. My only complaint it that this is over, but I am for sure ordering hard copies now so that they can grace my bookshelves and I can hold them and enjoy these beauties whenever I need my emotions ruffled. I can’t wait to see what will come next from Laurie Lewis! Thank you so much for this fantastic read!

Back in The Ring is the 4th book in the Predator Series by Brooke May. Although characters re-occur, each book in the series can be read as a stand-alone. I had not previously read any of the other books I this series before reading this one and I did not feel that I was missing any important information needed for this book. Having read, and really enjoyed this book, I would now like to go back and read the previous books. Bijou Augustine is a widow who is struggling to keep the children’s centre that she opened with her late husband open. The building is in need of major repairs which the centre is unable to afford. Enter her knight in shining armour, Noah Stone who has moved to the area with his toddler son Holder, to start afresh after the tragic death of his wife the previous year. The chemistry between the 2 of them is sizzling from their very first meeting. They very quickly start dating and are both head over heels for each other. BUT…Noah is hiding something, he is constantly on edge and checking out his surroundings. Who, or what is he hiding from? Will his secret tear apart the wonderful new relationship he has with Bijou? Obviously I’m not going to give away the answers, you’ll need to read this amazing love story to get the answers. I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed.

Knights Who Won My Heart by Sonya Jesus My rating: 5 out of 5 stars
WOW! I’m at a loss with this series. This 4th installment was pretty fantastic and the story is amazing. I really hope there will be another book.
I can’t divulge too much information because there is so much that I didn’t see coming and I don’t want to spoil anything. This book really finally closes in on who Hawk is and how much of a psycho he is. Poor Lia is over here still struggling with her relationships still and the friends she has around her, fending off Hawk when he always seems to be around and struggling with Robin’s accident and impending death. Hawk is truly crazy in that throughout the whole series I really did think he was some sort of prince or king the way he was speaking of himself, come to learn he is really just delusional.
The secondary characters, Dylan, Aiden, Harper etc. are so extremely important in this story as they work together to try and find the person killing all of their friends and ruining their lives as well as trying to protect Lia. I love the bond these kids all share and develop and their fierce protection over each other in their small group of friends.
I can’t say it enough, this story was pure genius to me. The characters are so well developed and the story flows so nicely, and there is so much excitement that I could not put this book down. There are so many twists and turns and so much that I did not see coming at all, especially in regards to Aiden, Dylan and Robins. The way this book ended I am hoping with all my heart that Sonya will continue this series because I see so much more drama, crazy and romance in the future.

This is my second read by this author and although it’s not my pick of the two I still completely enjoyed it. I did find it a bit hard to follow in some places and it felt like it jumped around a bit too fast and wasn’t as smooth flowing as the first book I read of hers, which was one of my favorites last year.
I still completely enjoyed this story line and think I actually finally understand the title, which drew me in immediately. I did LOL a few times while reading and also felt like slapping a few people at the same time. But I will say this had one of the better endings I’ve read in a long time. I can’t wait to read more by this author, I actually have another ready to go on my kindle and have a couple others I must read.
This was an awesome book and I do highly recommend it.

Age of Saints is the seventh book in the Druid’s Brooch Series by Christy Nicholas. This book takes us further back in the sequence of events, giving us a new perspective on some of the characters, events, magic, and that has driven this story/series. It is primarily an historical fantasy- with paranormal elements, drama, adventure, action, romance, magic, family, duty/responsibility, bonds, and so much more. This book has an M/M romance too, which sets it apart from others in the series. This story has its own unique identity, but also ‘fits’ wonderfully well with its companions in the collection. As with all the other books in this series, I really love all the attention to detail and the vividly descriptive storytelling that Ms. Nicholas excels at- it brings her stories to life and makes them very realistic, believable, and entirely captivating- and she always delivers a really well written tale. Each book in the series is fascinating on its own, but then you begin to realise that each one contributes a fragment in a bigger picture that is being revealed. Each book draws you in and gets you wondering right from the start. Superb! The character/s are complex, fully realised individuals who are so cleverly crafted- with interesting and likeable (or detestable natures)- as the author is easily able to sway you one way or another. I can’t wait to continue this series!

Life is a big bag of crazy. One minute your living your dream and the next pieces of that dream are taken away. I dislike tragedy even though we all face it. It is never a easy pill to swallow. I give every man and woman props for pulling it together either for their kids or themselves. Bijou is determined and strong willed. She knows that her center is needed in her town but can’t seem to get the funds. When life is throwing her signs to sale a saving grace is what she finds in Noah. I absolutely love Noah. The whole story was told in Bijou’s point of view but when Noah was present I would’ve liked his thought. They had a nice chemistry and it helped that they both had kids. The author gave us something real with these characters because honestly it could be anyone’s life.

Knights Who Won My Heart was a great 5 star read and book four of the Knights series. I was excited to get my hands on this final installment, once I started I didn’t want to stop.
We get pulled in right from the beginning at the accident scene, I was in tears reading what Amelia was going through with her best friend.
This opens the door for the killer to finally make his move. Will he be successful?
I love a book that keeps me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out just who it is and what is going on. And of course I was thrown for a loop a few times which I loved. Be prepared to have your emotions all of the place. There is lots of action with twists and turns. All of the characters were great and added a great element to the story. If you’re looking for a great series to read, I highly recommend this one. You will love it. I can’t wait to read the Soccer Gods books.

5 Star The Billionaire and the Therapist ( Clean Billionaire Romance Reads Book 1) By Kim Koby is a book about second chances and new beginnings. I loved this book and couldn’t stop reading once I started. This is story is about John and Natalie. Natalie is a kind hearted speech therapist who is a bit overwhelmed by the thought that the guy who once stalked her could be getting released. She is hired to help John’s daughter. John’s not the man he used to be. The love he has for his daughter is undeniable and the helplessness he feels for her.Then he meets Natalie and there is definitely an attraction. Can Natalie help his daughter? I highly recommend reading this Book. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

THE PROTECTOR: MAC starts in the middle of a scene. Literally, there is no lead up or introduction to the characters or what is going on. I was a little off balance for a little bit until I figured out who is who and how everything fits. I have not read the novella that preceded this story and have not read the series this is spun off from.
This is a mystery suspense that is also a romance. There are a few stories going on at the same time and it was a very interesting way to unravel the layers to get to the core.
This story is full of action and was easy to read from beginning to end. In addition to being about the two main protagonists, MAC lays the foundation for the rest of the series. .I look forward to reading more about this team in future installments to the series..

This is the follow up story of Love on a Limb. We were left with Matt and Mikaela after their wedding in book one. We find Mikaela and Matt are still fighting the cancer. More choices are offered with more decisions to be made this time around. Mikaela and Matt’s love is amazing! If they would just let it shine through. Love is love, no matter what and sometimes love is work. Every time, though, love is worth it.
“I promise you, Matt, nothing comes before us. Whenever love is on the line, I’m always going to choose us.”
This story includes new characters that will make you shake your head in disbelief. Some even make you smile with heart felt love. I loved the story line except again for the cancer. Because like my review of book one: I hate cancer.
This author never ceases to amaze me with her story telling. I look forward to what else she can write!

Fortitude by Carrie Dalby is a wonderful historical novel. Set in 1898 the story follows Claire, a sixteen year old girl. She experiences racism and the effect of Jim Crow laws on the people around her. She is held in contempt by some of her peers because she is not working in the medical tent for whites instead she is working in the tent for African Americans. This novel is intriguing because of the historical nature and the topics covered. I liked the detail and the characters used by the author. This is a great story because it is speaking of a time that many want to forget in US history. The effects of Jim Crow laws are still seen in the south today and this speaks to how they impacted the lives of people when they were instituted. I really look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Oh my goodness! What an incredibly intense storyline! I feel like now I’ve finished it I can breath again. I was taken on an amazing in depth emotional journey, which I completely loved every second of. The storyline didn’t disappoint. I’ve read every one of the books in the series so far and they just keep getting better and better. I’m literally completely taken with this series and have loved every second! The characters were incredible throughout the novel. You learn more about them and watch them grow to be amazing!
