I give Drawing Bloodlines (The Princeton Allegiant Series Book 1) by Deborah Garland, 4 stars.

Elizabeth isn’t feeling too well after she’s had blood drawn at her doctor’s office. Feeling nauseated, she opens a door to what she thinks is the bathroom. Instead she finds the sexy doctor who just drew her blood and sees the unthinkable — he’s drinking her blood!!! Surely she is just hallucinating. This leads her learn that vampires are real. But can this sexy vampire fall for a woman like her? The answer appears to be yes, but the odds are against them that they will be able to make this relationship work. Can their feelings overcome all of the obstacles before them? What happens when danger comes knocking on their door?

This is a hot and steamy paranormal romance between a human and a vampire. To be honest, the beginning of the book shows the conflict with a human and a vampire being together. If you have read this genre before, you may have read similar. But the second half of this book is what really makes this story. There is plenty of action and things happening I can’t say I have read before. Without giving it away, the scientific side of things is spectacular. Alexander and Elizabeth are great characters — they both have their flaws and issues they bring into a relationship. This makes them relatable. The secondary characters are great too. We don’t see too much of them but my interest is piqued and I hope to read more about them in future books.

If you like your paranormal romance hot and steamy with some action thrown in, this book is for you.
