Misfortune of Vision (Druids Brooch Series #4) By Christy Nicholas
4 Stars!!!!

I really haven’t read this series in order but that hasn’t effected my enjoyment of it. I find this author to be quite refreshing. I really do enjoy stepping out of my comfort genre. I really enjoy being amerced in the Irish days of old.

I enjoyed getting to have more of a glimpse into Orlagh’s life again. I found that the drama as it unfolded to keep me glued to the pages. I really found myself empathizing with Declan as the story began. I really was glad that Orlagh wasn’t alone and that her grandson was still alive. I found that as the story progressed that the drama was just enough and the flow of the book made it so I just couldn’t put it down. I look forward to reading more from this author and more from this series.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kerri was brought up by controlling father, big boss of a the MC Biker gang and managed to build a whole new life when she left the family home for college. Now a successful Math professor, she tries not to look back, but when her safety is threatened, her father sends one of his team to protect her. While Kerri initially resents this intrusion into her new life, she can’t deny the attraction she feels towards “Tracker”. This attraction could be her undoing, or it could be the making of her…
This is a fun read. Steamy at times, easy to read and keeps the reader’s attention all the way through. The main characters of Kerri and Evan, known as “Tracker” are well-written and easy to identify with. The minor characters were great too, I particularly liked her neighbour Ms Violet.
I look forward to reading other books in the series and finding out more about the Lost Boys.

Out of the Box Collect: A Second Chance Romance Series by Jennifer Theriot was definitely a marathon read.

I enjoyed each of the three but I felt the third book was the best of the three. The first two had time where they seemed to lag for me but the last book kept me reading to the point I was mad when I had to stop long enough to cook supper.

The kids were great but Todd was by far my favorite one. There were little things I loved like the Longhorns and Cubs connection since those are my teams and references to different areas here in Texas. Also loved how Olivia wanted to take care of herself even when she really didn’t need to because Ash was just so amazing, almost too amazing but she deserved it.

If you love adult supernatural fantasy, then this book is definitely for you! Chloe moves into a remote area of Washington state with her new husband Jeff and is greeted by a very handsome mysterious neighbour Zander. Some years later, Zander and his family help Chloe and her daughter Lilly in their time of need, and she learns a lot more about their supernatural family. Zander is a fallen angel who has sworn to protect his family, but will his attraction to Chloe get in the way?
A fab book with lots of twists and turns. I liked the world building and the different supernaturals and the descriptions of their worlds – Especially Heaven. I thought Zander sounded fabulous and Chloe was a strong and capable woman who had been beaten down by life and needed another chance to shine. Fab message and great storyline. I am thrilled to discover there are more books in this series.

Spouse Trap: A Madeline Dawkins Mystery (The Madeline Dawkins Series Book 1) by Cynthia Hamilton – Review by Julie Lounello

Spouse Trap (Madeline Dawkins, #1)Spouse Trap by Cynthia Hamilton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Spouse Trap: A Madeline Dawkins Mystery (The Madeline Dawkins Series Book 1) by Cynthia Hamilton is a five star novel. I loved the way this story unfolded and how much suspense I found. This is my first novel by this author, but I cannot wait for the rest of this series to happen. Madeline has the perfect life until her husband gets his hands on some photos of her cheating on him. However, it is very unusual for a spouse to genuinely not have any recollection of their supposed infidelity, even if there is evidence to back this up. Of course, many spouses would absolutely love to have some evidence of their partner cheating to back up their constant suspicions. This is why many spouses have taken it upon themselves to hire Family private investigators that get to the bottom of these cases, leaving no stone unturned. When dealing with an extra secretive cheater, this may be the only option to get the absolute truth out in the open. By using special investigative tactics, a P.I can help you achieve true peace of mind, whether your partner is guilty or innocent of infidelity. She has no idea how this happened and wants to get to the bottom of it. She doesn’t even remember what happened that night. How could she not remember? She remembers everything…except this night. What happened to her and how did she get in this predicament. When she loses everything, she decides to take the journey to figure it all out. What else does she have to lose? Absolutely nothing.

Unraveled by Aubrey Bondurant – Review by Michelle Austin

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Unraveled was a great 5 star read.

You get pulled right in from the beginning with Layla getting some shocking news and discovering her boyfriend cheating on her when she needed his support. She makes a decision that will take her on a new journey in her life.

Kellan’s ex shows up at a bar he’s at, it’s been six years and it’s definitely not a coincidence.
Russ comes up with a plan to help his friend Kellan by calling his sister Layla. When Layla walks in he is stunned at how beautiful she is and she’s pretending to be his girlfriend. He was instantly attracted to her and wanted more with her.

This story takes right off from here and I will warn that you will need a lot of kleenex. I’m emotionally exhausted after this book. All of the secondary characters were great, they all added a good element to the story. There are so many great elements to this story. Going through the journey with Layla and Kellan gives you such a realistic view on what people go through and the daily struggles. You can’t help but wonder if there will be a HEA for these two. If you’re looking for a great emotional read, this is the book for you. Aubrey does a great job with her writing and I can’t wait to read more from her. 1-click and get started today.

Aptly named because that is how this book left me … unraveled. I was wrecked reading this book. Bondurant has an insane gift in tackling every day family dynamics and respectfully dealing with various issues or subjects in a way that creates understanding and empathy. To say this book was a beautiful and sloppy (due to all the tears shed) roller coaster would be an incredible understatement. From the cover to the content, this book was expertly crafted. Hands down one of the most beautiful books I’ve read this year. I absolutely loved it. Please do yourself a favor and get your own copy right now. This story is about family as well as suspenseful. Great story! I see movie in the future!

Kaiden and Alicia are seen as the perfect couple. Getting pregnant on their honeymoon, the child is earlier than they expected. But as they struggle to adapt, many things unfortunately cause bumps in the road. The ups and downs are faced head on. Is family support enough to get this couple threw what could destroy their young family? Only reading the book will tell you.

Michele Sims has put this young family, in a situation that seems so real. The story in it self, keeps you reading. I love the characters, and their feelings. The suspense in this book is a rollercoaster of a ride. I’m looking forward to reading more from her. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. Way to keep it real Michele Sims.!

Unraveled hooked me in emotionally right off the bat. When main character Layla finds out she has cancer on top of catching her longtime boyfriend cheating she has no other choice but to reach out to her little brother. This leads to her moving closer to home where she rescues her brother, Russ’, best friend Kellan from an awkward situation with an ex. The chemistry between the two and what was supposed to be a one night stand turns into more.

I loves that this book hooked me in and that it was easy to follow. The author did not use difficult medical terminology so it was easy to understand what was going on. I truly loved both Kellan and Layla’s characters and how they developed with the storyline. It was a wonderful Romance and I highly recommend it!

The Mourning Islands by Douglas Wells is an interesting read. The story is about the vet, Talmon Bonnett, who is dealing with PTSD from him serving in the Battle of Mogadishu in Somalia. He is hired by someone to spy on a wealthy resort owner. The characters are an interesting group. There is Talmon, mobsters, a wealthy couple, resort owners, and others. This book has some twists and turns in the story and not all the characters are whom they seem to be. There was a good story and the story flowed well. I really enjoyed the book and I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

This is an emotional love story…..
Unraveled is written by Aubrey Bondurant but it’s not the first book that I have read by this author and she always out does herself with each book they just get better and better. The characters are we’ll written with a strong heroine that over comes a few obstacles. I loved the secondary characters and their quirky ways. I can’t forget the main male character and the support and dedication.
Layla thought she had it all with my well-respected job, Hollywood boyfriend, and glamorous lifestyle. All it took is one day, and a single word, and her great life was obliterated.
Until she meets Kellan.
Kellan is hanging out at a bar with his friend Russ when his ex-shows up with ulterior motive. So Russ decides to call his sister to save Kellan and when she gets there they hit it off.
What was supposed to be a one-night stand turns into a week affair to her supposedly leaving for a year but Layla won’t tell him what she is doing.
If she tells him where she is going he might run off or stay out of pity. What will happen when Kellan finds out the truth? Will Layla let her walls down for Kellan or walk away? Will they have a happily ever after. I guess you have to read this amazing story.

Out of the Box Collection by Jennifer Theriot was an emotional, sweet, up down collection, that gets all the feels going.

Not my first read from this author, so I knew going in that I was in for something good. I was not disappointed in the least. This collection got better with each book, and the growth, feels and characters just added to the layers of goodness that just oozes out of the pages. Detail was rich, the plot flowed and the feels were real. I felt like I was apart of the story, and as sad as I was for it all to end, I felt satisfied with the overall conclusion and the way this series was finished. I have to say for a three book collections, the reading was so easy that it was a pretty quick read. You just get sucked into this world, the complexity of the situations and storyline, trap you to the point that you forget you’re reading, and just, be, in the moments.

Overall this collection is worth your time and energy. It has everything you ever wanted in a feel invoicing adult romance. Keep tissues handy, cause there-are some moments that spark the tear ducks. So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will get lost in this beautifully crafted read.

Too Hot to Handle (The Catch, Book 3) by Avery Scott was a fun, hot, entertaining read, that had me hooked!

My first read from this author and in this series, I didn’t know what I was getting into. But with it’s enticing cover and raving reviews, I took a chance, and I’m glad I did.

This book was hooking from the start, I love Tony’s voice and his witty sarcastic ways. Gigi, she’s something, and such a wonderful character to read about. Both played off one another perfectly and entertainingly. The overall story reads like a block busting rom-comm, and the detail and steady flow just added to the wonderfullness of this crazy good story. I love how the author took something overused and made it into something new and shiny. These type of books are predictable, so I always love it when authors can take those concepts and make them fresh, and marvelous like a new toy. That my friends is true talent, and love for the craft.

Overall this book is a must read, and if the other book in this series are just as outstanding as this one, I’m going to be binge reading real soon. To end this book gets my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

Happy Reading

This collection contains three books, Awakening, Regifted and Everlasting by Jennifer Theriot. Book one, Awakening, is all about Olivia and how her life is about to change. There are so many characters to get to know, so much relatability, so many feelings, second chances, first loves. This book really had it all. As a book one it could have ended as it is. It ends happily, enough, there’s a good amount of closure, however, this IS a set so YAY there is more!!

Book 2 is Regifted and is a continuation of Olivia and Ash’s discovery. Discovery of each other and their love. Life is good for Olivia and just continues to get better. However, some unimaginable twists are thrown in and things aren’t as perfect as they seem.

Book 3 Everlasting is O.M.G. This book continues status quo until it doesn’t!! I can’t even with this conclusion!

A complete adventure in 3 books! I can’t wait to see if Theriot gives us more of these characters…she just has to! Highly recommended!

Unraveled by Aubrey Bondurant is a poignant story that hits you in your heart! I have read most of what Aubrey has written and I have to say that I discover more layers with each book I read! She is a writer that I always pick up when a new book comes out.
Unraveled gives us Layla and Kellan and a story that makes you cry and think of your own mortality, it also makes you chuckle and laugh and it gives us a nudge to follow our dreams. It is not just a story about relationships between women and men; it is also a story of a relationship between a mother and her daughter. It shows us the ups and downs and how difficult it is to balance one’s independence with one family’s worry and care and love … in the end, it is a story that leaves you thinking and maybe picking up a phone and calling the ones you love!

YES! So much YES with this new series from Maddie Wade. The Eidolon Black Ops novels are a spin-off from the Fortis Security Series and I couldn’t be more excited to see what else we will get in the novels to come. I adored The Fortis Security series and remembered Alex fondly. I would say that you could pick this up prior to reading the Fortis Security series, but I truly think that you will absolutely adore it and understand the cast of characters so much better if you read through those first.

This one we see Alex again like I said but we find him now in a new battle for Evelyn’s heart and safety. I just really enjoyed reading about Alex, he is the kind of man I would want my daughters to date so I truly found him carving a space in my reader’s heart. I am almost confident to say he is my favorite lead male that I have read so far this year. Now on to wait for the next fantastic installment. I can’t wait to get my hands on it! Thanks for the fabulous read Ms. Wade!

This book is my first read from Avery Scott, and after reading Too Hot to Handle, I’m gutted I haven’t read book 1 and 2, but make no mistake I will be going back and reading the other books in the series. This book was excellent from the get-go. I have absolutely loved this read, this author has created an epic story with even better characters. Georgia and Tony were just perfect in this read, everything about them made this book better. I definitely think they were the perfect match even with the ups and downs they have, the banter and the interaction between them. Georgia & Tony both went through a journey through this read and it just helped them become even more intriguing, real and relatable.

This read flows effortlessly from chapter to chapter, and was captivating from the start to the very end! One last thing – can we can point out how hot this cover is, who doesn’t like seeing a sexy male in a uniform!
This is a book I highly recommend and a story you wouldn’t want to miss out on!

This is the first book I have read from this author and she blew me away. I love a good contemporary romance but this talented author exceeded all my expectations. I was hooked on this story from the first chapter. I could not put it down until I knew what happened. It only took me a few hours to devour this incredible book.

Layla had it all the perfect job, family, and a hot boyfriend. She was on cloud nine but then her life changed with one word. Layla was left with a new reality she has to come to terms with. She wanted one last night to be free and then she met him. Layla felt something for Kellan when they first locked eyes. He is the perfect man for her but the timing is off. She knows when he finds out the truth he will run just like everyone else did. Layla has other things to worry about but she can’t get Kellan out of her head. Will Layla be able to let Kellan in or will she keep him the dark?

I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has it all romance, heartbreak, healing, and forgiveness. You can’t help but to fall in love with these characters. Layla is a very strong woman that has a lot of ups and downs. She has some walls up due to her past. Kellan is by far my favorite male character of the year. He has a heart of gold. The way he treats Layla will make you swoon. These characters have some steamy scenes that will make your temperature rise. This author will keep you at the edge of your seat until the end. You better have Kleenex ready because there is a lot of ups and downs in this incredible story. This is a book that all romance readers should read. I can’t wait to see what this author will write next.

Unraveled is an emotional, heart wrenching romance novel by Aubrey Bondurant. Before you sit down to read this book, ensure that you have plenty of tissues with you as you will definitely need them. This book had me sobbing like a baby. I have read other books by this author but Unraveled is my favourite that I have read so far.
You know you are having a really, really bad day when you discover you have breast cancer, your boss is a complete ass when you tell him you need time off, then you go home and find your boyfriend having sex with someone else. When the book you are reading starts this way then you know you are in for a damn good read and that’s what you get from Unraveled.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Out Of The Box Collection by Jennifer Theriot contains the 3 full length novels Awakening, Re-gifted and Everlasting in one collection. I have read several books by this author but this collection has become my favourite. I love that Jennifer Theriot often writes about older characters instead of the usual 20 and 30 somethings that most novels contain these days.
This box set centres around 60 year old Ash and 57 year old Olivia who find true love later in life when Olivia’s husband of 30 years dumps her for a younger women. Another thing I loved about this collection is the secondary characters. Olivia’s 3 children, Ash’s 3 children, the members of Tommy’s band and all their significant others all play a vital role in the series. They are not just secondary characters. We get to delve deeply into their lives too and they are a very valuable addition to the story. The series just wouldn’t be as good without these characters.
One of the main themes from this series is just how important family and close friends are. I loved the bond that existed between all the siblings and the boys in the band. There was such amazing camaraderie between them all. Special mention has to be made for Todd, he is adorable and made me laugh so much.
I also have to add that Theriot throws several curveballs at you. Just when you think you know where a particular storyline is leading…boom! You are taken on a different journey. I will admit that several times I really wanted to kick the author’s backside when she threw in a WTF!! Moment.
This collection is definitely a 5 star read. I LOVED it.
