Orion’s Kiss by Claire Luana – Review by Karyn Taylor

Orion's KissOrion’s Kiss by Claire Luana
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Orion’s Kiss is a fabulous YA fantasy by Claire Luana that gives a modern day twist to some Greek mythology. I had never read any of this author’s work but after reading this I’d definitely read more from this author.
Our heroine Meriah is the reincarnation of Merope. Meriah is sick of her sister’s being killed by Orion as a result of a curse placed on her family many centuries ago, so she decided that she needs to kill him.
What results is a funny, heartwarming story as Meriah kidnaps Orion (currently called Ryan in this life) in order to kill him. The more time that Meriah spends with Ryan she sees a whole different side of him and discovers that much of what she has always believed isn’t quite the true story. The 2 of them decided to team up, along with their 2 best friends to find Zeus and break the curse.
The interactions between Meriah and Ryan are hilarious at many points. Added to this both do a great deal of soul searching and discover new things about themselves.
This book is really well written with great characters. The storyline really grabs you from the very beginning and takes you on a fantastic journey. I definitely recommend this book.
