I have been really looking forward to this book – I have loved this series so far and I have to say Ms Mellett has definitely saved the best until last! I was completely captivated by this story from beginning to end, I honestly could not put my kindle down at all. I have to say I am usually consumed by this authors stories but there was just something about this one, she really did take the story and characters to another level. She definitely brought the series full circle with this final instalment. Truck and Allie’s story was so beautifully written, the emotional moments of the story really grabbed me at times. It’s been a while since a book had me in tears but this one did all within a few pages! I was so into what I was reading, I could feel everything to characters did and I think that’s definitely what had me so emotional! Truck Stopped was an amazing ending to this series and a story I cannot recommend enough. It could be read as a standalone but I would 100% recommend the series as a whole! As always I look forward to seeing what Ms Mellett comes out with in the future.

Its a fast paced adventure where you dont know who to trust and where to turn. As well as that it follows the growing relationship between Brian and Jenny. When things get dangerous it makes Brian realise what Jenny means to him and he plans to claim her in every sense of the word.
I loved this series. Its full of passion and also adventure which keeps you gripped till the end.

September Breeze, A Cinnamon Bay Romance Book 2, by Nikki Lynn Barrett. This is not the first time that I have read books by this author. I have truly loved reading her books. This book will tug at your heart strings. I loved the strength that Tess had after everything that she went through. She was afraid to open her heart again but how could you not fall head over heels in love with Tatum, Alice and especially Brian. I think one of the best parts was reading the interaction between Tess and the girls. This was a sweet romance but with a powerful story. I absolutely fell in love with Cinnamon Bay and the Taylors. I can not wait for more!!!!

A great read about determination. Joe hasn’t let anyone into his life lately due to his mysterious and dark past. He sees Gwen at a party and that all changes. He wants her but she is closed off and cold towards him. Can he break down her barriers and win her heart? A great read. Well developed plot. Well developed characters like Joe determined to get what he wants but caring underneath or Gwen standing up for herself but vulnerable underneath. Great cast of supporting characters like the cautious Heath or the supportive Gabbi I loved the visual detusl throughout the novel like with the scenes with the party full of life and people and colour and sights and sounds so vivid it’s as if you’re actually there. I liked the mystery with their pasts with little details revealed slowly to keep you reading to find out what they did. I liked their worries of trying to put the past behind them was powerful and emotive but sometimes had repetition which could be reduced. The switch of perspectives worked well to display both sides of the story and was easy to follow with names in chapter titles. The only issue I would raise is that these first person narratives often felt like they went off tangent into thoughts and were hard to follow. Overall, a great read and I would give it four stars

Into Pieces (Shattered Hearts Series Book 2) by Nicole Banks continues from book 1 and I must say I enjoyed this part of the story than the first. It is well written and it is about real life problems and the angst of love. It is a story where all your emotions are out on display right along with the characters. The characters are more developed and you could feel that Nicole really put her emotions in them as well. This heart wrenching, soul searing and yet beautiful story will leave you wanting more. It also features our next couple in the romance department and it will be just as interesting read I am sure as this one was.
Jasmine and Angel and finally got their shit together and decided to work as a couple but as we all know falling in love and nothing is ever a walk in the park. They still have a lot of work to do on themselves and as we know taking a good hard look at yourself in the mirror is never a pleasant thing. Just when Jas thought her life was safe the horrors of her past are once again front and centre and taking its hold of her and threatening everyone she loves and her own sanity.
I look forward to reading Chases’ and Kris’ story next, I just know it will blow us away.

While in a cafe the towns matchmakers over hear her say she needs another job and a place to live while she is here. They hand her an old add that has been written by the girls for someone to help their dad. This is how Tess meets Brian and his girls when she goes to check out the house and inadvertently gets interviewed by Brian. Little does she know that getting this job is going to change her life in a very big way. Because of something that happened in her past Tess doesn’t stay anywhere too long. But now she has found love for Brian and the girls, she doesn’t know whether to stay or go. Will she tell Brian what has happened in her past? Or will the love she has for this family be enough for her to stay?

The Confectioner’s Guild (The Confectioner Chronicles Book 1) The Confectioner’s Guild by Claire Luana is the first book in the Confectioner Chronicles series. I have to say I loved the prequel and this book is written just as well. The writing style of this author is quite enjoyable. The series is aimed at the YA readers but can be enjoyed by us adults as well. The author has made the characters in this book quite enjoyable and its was a pleasure to have read this book and I do look forward for more instalments. In this book we have mystery, magic and cooking. Not your normal mixture in a book but it works well. So, grab yourself a copy of the book and have an enjoyable time in getting to know not only the characters but the authors wonderful way of telling a story.
The Confectioner’s Coup The Confectioners Coup is the second book in the Confectioner Chronicles series by Claire Luana. If you enjoyed the first book, then this book will not disappoint you at all. Get yourself ready to meet new characters which you will either like or dislike, but they help make this book enjoyable. I will say this book contains so much sadness and may take you on a roller coaster of emotions. But on saying that it has a few twists and turns that you want to keep turning the page. Book one is my favorite so far in this series, but I am looking forward to book three and a nicer ending.
The Confectioner’s Truth The Confectioner’s Truth is the third and final book this series. Please don’t start with book three I wouldn’t recommend them read a standalone. We have the pleasure of meeting some new characters in this book, each one I feel enhances the storyline. Wren went through some time in self-doubt and tries to learn from mistakes she has made. Will she be able to learn and not make the same mistakes again? The only thing I did question was why so many couples, but all in all I enjoyed the book. The thing I liked about this series is I found most of the characters to have their own strengths, I could be wrong but that’s my personal opinion! I really liked how Claire just kept building up this series, sometimes I find the last book in a series to be disappointing, but not with this book. The Confectioner’s Truth has ended this series perfectly. I would also recommend anyone and everyone to read this series, you won’t be disappointed.
The Confectioner’s Exile: The Confectioner Chronicles Prequel Novella The Confectioner’s Exile is the prequel in the Confectioners Chronicles series by Claire Luana. This novella you find will be a nice quick read and you will find it gives the background of Hale and when he joined the guild. Yes, this novella is short, but you will still find twists and turns, love and some adventure. I did enjoy the novella and I am looking forward to reading more in the series.

Discovery (The Orphan Train Saga Book 1) by Sherry A. Burton is a five star novel. I cannot wait to start the next book in the series. I absolutely love historical fiction and this novel does not disappoint. Years ago, I read a different historical fiction novel on the orphan trains and then did my own research because it was fascinating to me that they loaded up the orphans and started sending them out west. Many children’s hearts were broken and mine broke for them too. From the research I had done years ago, this novel seemed very historically accurate. This story depicts the life of a granddaughter trying to figure out her grandmother’s estate and finding so much more into her grandmother’s history than she ever could have imagined. Did I say already that I can’t wait to start the next one in the series because it is true!

This story really has something for everyone: Love, mystery, drama, and past/present stories. My absolute favorite part of this book is how the stories in the past and the present intertwine with each other without becoming confusing. The story from the past was an important part of the present story.
My favorite character in the story was Liz. I didn’t think it would be. However, I feel that she grew and learned throughout the book. I particularly liked the ending of this story. I feel that Linda Bennett Pennell did a great job of wrapping up both storylines.

September Breeze was a great 5 star read and book 2 in the Cinnamon Bay series.
Tess arrives in Cinnamon Bay and finds that she doesn’t have a place to stay during her short stay in town. She is a songwriter hired to write songs for a movie that is filming in the area. When someone overhears her conversation she is given an ad looking for a nanny, she decides to go to the house out of curiosity.
Tess ends up meeting Brian and his girls and they love her. She gets the job and starts to grow very close to all three of them very quickly. Tess tells them that she will only be there temporarily, when she finds out what happened to Brian’s wife she starts to understand the girls better. When Brian gets some news that could change things for him, Tess steps in and offers to help him.
Brian and Tess start to have feelings for each other, but she can’t stay no matter what her heart is saying. She can’t stay in one spot too long or he will find her. He continues to call her just to let her know he hasn’t forgotten about her. When she gets a call from home she rushes back, will she return to Brian and the girls or will she move on once again?
Overall I really loved the story and all of the characters, even the three nosy matchmaker ladies that brought them together. The way that Tess connected with Brian and her girls was great. The author does a great job of pulling you right in with her writing and I couldn’t stop reading until I was done. My emotions were all over the place. I look forward to reading more from this series and author. This is going in my must reads for 2019. 1-click and get started on this great series today.

Discovery (The Orphan Train Saga Book 1) by Sherry Burton was a super emotional read. I would give this book a five out of five stars. I was hooked from the second chapter and could not put it down. Cindy’s journey to discover actually had me wanting to call up my parents and just spend a ton of time figuring out their history. Sherry Burton did a great job of making me feel connected to the story and I really felt like I was going on a journey of discovery myself. The storytelling was phenomenal.

The Flood by Meghan O’Flynn was a dark twisted read, that had me hooked from start to finish.
Not my first read by this author, so I knew going in that I was in for something not only well written, but twisted, dark and trilling. I was not disappointed. This book starts out dark, and stays that way. It keeps pulling you more and more into its cold twisted hold of horror; that not only keeps you guessing, but will have you wondering, what you would do, in that same situation. Chills, just chills. There’s just something about the whole thing, that will get you right in the darkness of your soul. I’ve seem movies like this, but I have to say, this version has been one of the best so far.
This book is crazy good, and I’m still consumed about how everything when down. How as you go back, you start making connections, start seeing the easter eggs that you missed. This psychological thriller will have you second guessing every character, every word, every decision, and it will have you trying not to root for the MC, while secretly rooting for her to survive.
Overall this read is not only worth it, this book will mess with your head, have you wondering about human nature, and of course, as I have said, have you wondering what you would do. So please take my super high recommendation and my golden stamp of approval, that you will get lost in the darkness and suspense that is this gem of a book.

Al Capone at the Blanche Hotel by Linda Bennett Pennell was an interesting and fascinating novel. The author did an excellent job creating the main character and allowing, Liz, to show her passion for Al Capone in. this novel. I also felt like Liz was very relatable in this novel.
I also really enjoyed the various settings in this novel and the characters of Liz’s story. Visualizing the world with Al Capone would occasioned chill bumps up my spine as I read. I enjoyed reading this novel and felt that it had an excellent storyline. Great read!

Al Capone at the Blanche Hotel by Linda Bennett Pennell. I loved this book.I started it at 8:30 pm and stayed up until 2am to finish. It hooks you from the beginning and doesn’t let you go til the end. Its 2 stories actually. It starts in Lake City, Florida in the 1930s when Al Capone checks into the Blanche Hotel for an extended amount of time. The following night a guy named Jack Blevins sees a body being dumped which is a prequel for a very violent summer. The dirty county politics & KKK start killing people left and right. As the body count rises someone is making plans to fill those voids if they don’t all die! Enter Liz Reams in 2011 who is a studying the history of American Crime and has moved across the continent to follow a man. Once she moves she realizes her family and friends were probably right and he’s not the man for her so she immerses herself in her studies. Mystery is all over the fact that Al Capone checked into a little hotel in the middle of nowhere. Why did he pick that hotel in that city. Was he behind the high body count that summer? What Liz finds out will curl your toes and keep you turning the pages way into the night! She is changed forever and if you read this book you will be too! Its an amazing book!

The Confectioner Chronicles: The Complete Fantasy Mystery Series by Claire Luana is a fun series to read. I recommend reading them in order because the series is in chronological order. The first book in the series The Confectioner’s Guild starts the series. This book is full of mystery, magic, and cooking. Wren is an amazing cook and soon finds herself in the Confectioner’s Guild. Here she learns more about herself and that she has special magical powers. After the death of the head of the guild after eating her cupcake she learns more about not only herself but this guild that she has been brought into. The characters are well written and the story drew me in from the beginning. Not only is Wren a great character but there are also many others. The second book is The Confectioner’s Coup continues this series. The story continues for Wren and things are not looking good for her and others in the guild. Guild members are going missing and the King is out of control. I have enjoyed this as well as the first book and the novella. The writing is well written and entertaining. This is a twist and turn thriller that at times kept me on the edge of my seat. The Confectioner’s Truth is the third book. The story continues with Wren and the members of the guild. There is a new ruler who is beyond bad. He rules like a madman and things are not stable for anyone. I recommend reading the other books in the series. The characters have grown and matured through the course of the series. I enjoy Wren because she is not cocky or self-centered. She is unsure of herself and does not always make the best decisions. She is rash at times and at other times she is centered and in total control. These traits make her easy to relate. There are many past characters who are back and some new ones as well. The Confectioner’s Exile by Claire Luana is a prequel novella to The Confectioner Chronicles. This is the backstory of Hale Firena and his life. He has always had everything he could possibly want but his life changes drastically. He must learn how to survive without relying on others. I really enjoyed this prequel and read it before I read book 1. The writing is great and the action was also good. After reading this novella I was even more excited to read the series.

Discovery is the first book in Sherry A Burton’s historical fiction series The Orphan Train Saga. I got hooked on this topic when I read Lisa Wingates Before We Were Yours so I was so excited to pick up Sherry’s book and she did not disappoint! It was my first read by the writer and I cannot wait to pick up the second book of the series! Discovery takes us back into the era of the American history when the society did not have any sympathy to orphans and they were considered disposable, unlovable and unwanted. The horrors they faced and the conditions they lived in … at times it is really hard to believe that we as human race have lasted that long … The story is told through the history of Cindy Moore’s grandmother – Cindy is finally going through her grandmother’s possessions/junk that Cindy and her mother have been storing for years and this action opens the gates and takes us all to the journey into Grandmother Mildred/Mileta’s life … a life filled with secrets and fear and loss and triumph of the human spirit to survive almost anything … The story is beautifully told and so detailed that you can close your eyes and hear and see it unfolding in front of your eyes. Be prepared to cry … be prepared to be enraged … be prepared to learn more about the history than you could ever imagine …

The Traitor by India Kells is the second book in the Underground Bad Boys series.
This is Knox’s story and it grabbed me at the beginning. There was something about Knox that drew me in. He has his demons from the past and needs to find a better way to release them when they get too loud.
Josie has too much weight on her young shoulders. Having to fix problems that aren’t hers is aging her a lot.
I have read several other books by Ms. Kells and have enjoyed every one of them and looking forward to keeping up with this series.

Collision by Nicole Banks is the third book in the Shattered Hearts series. This book can be read as a standalone although for the full experience I would recommend reading them in order. Knowing this was the book coming next I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. We are introduced to Kris and Chase briefly in the previous books and I just knew how explosive their chemistry was going to be. I couldn’t wait for their story to unfold. This was definitely a strong follow up to the previous books as well. Nicole Banks has a way of crafting such a detailed and interesting story that you find yourself getting lost in them. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.
Surviving Wrath is the third and final heart-pounding instalment in The Deadliest Sin Series by Gwyn McNamee. So, before I go any further with my review, I am going to make a confession. I HATE writing reviews for Gwyn McNamee’s books- why you might ask? Because her stories are so #@%$*!^ good that I really have trouble coming up with the words to do them the justice they deserve, that’s why! ARGGGGH this book flung me around on an emotional rollercoaster ride- right from the beginning. The story starts off with a bang, and we jump right into the action. I wanted to hit the pause button, but I was too afraid that I’d miss something. So the high-octane adrenaline fueled action pulled me in and then held me captive while everything unfolded. We’ve been on quite a journey since starting out on book #1. So much has happened, the books really feel much longer than the novellas they are- and I mean that in a good way. While the books may be short in length, they are in no way lacking in content! This book is part of a series and is not meant to be read as a standalone. You won’t get the full impact of the story, or series, if you don’t read the books in sequence. Each book is told from a different perspective, which really helps build the tension, suspense, and impact of each individual book as well as the overall storyline… After the climactic ending to the previous book, I really though I knew where the story was headed- but I definitely should have known better! Gwyn McNamee always twists things in a direction I don’t fully expect. There are some things that happened in this book with certain characters which had my heart in my mouth- and left me cursing out Ms. McNamee. And, if she is reading this, she will know exactly what I’m referring to! I had expectations, and then Ms. McNamee snuck up behind me and smacked me over the back the head and said think again B*@%h!…..And I have to admit now, in hindsight, and after numerous readings- it was the best direction to take the story! So, how far would you be willing to go to protect, or avenge, a loved one? Would you let wrath lead you? Would you fall into its bloody embrace? This story explores this concept- and we see what happens when a monster and a dragon go head to head (and no, this isn’t a paranormal story)- just read it and you’ll know what I mean! There is sooooo much more I would like to say, but I don’t want to spoil it for you. So, if you like compelling, dark, and intense reads- with complex characters and multi-layered storylines- then this is definitely the story/series for you! What are you waiting for? Dive in! Brilliant!

I love the way Ms. McNamee wove this story/series- she left me guessing as to which direction she was taking the story, and series- and I was anxiously reading along to discover what would happen. There were quite a few shocks, twists, and surprising developments- which is quite a feat considering how short each book is. As I said in my review for the first book- this might be a short story, but it packs quite a punch. It is dark, erotic, raw, bloody, brutal, and action-packed. I loved the complexity of the storyline, and of the characters. Being able to weave such clever twists, and create such complexities in such a short space is really a testament to Gwyn McNamee’s writing prowess!! This is a hunt for revenge. Our character is consumed by his rage, his wrath is palpable! We are pulled into his vortex of rage and death-dealing mission, where we get a front row seat to all the action; from Pittsburgh, to Cuba, and Argentina- he leaves a bloody trail of violence in his wake. But will his obsession be his undoing? The epilogue of this book made me sit up and take notice- the first time I read this book I was beside myself- I could not wait for the next book to be released to find out if what I thought was actually what was going on- because you never really know with Gwyn McNamee behind the wheel. And even though I have read this book several times now, the epilogue still makes my heart pound! I’ve said this before, and I will say it again- Gwyn McNamee is one of my favourite authors, who can take any genre and deliver something that will completely enthrall me, every time. She’s such a brilliant storyteller, capturing my attention within moments of starting any of her stories and then taking me on a ride that will stay with me long after I’ve closed the book. This story is no different- and I especially loved how she worked and moulded the darkness of the theme. I think she wears darkness beautifully and this book/series is definitely one of my favourites of hers- ever! One of the best things about this series, for anyone who hasn’t read it yet, is that all the books are available to read right now- so no waiting between books!!! #WINNING Bravo!

Wrath is the first book in The Deadliest Sin Series by Gwyn McNamee. This is about the fourth time I’ve read this book and I love it just as much as I did the first time it blew me away. It is such a short read, and because quite a lot happens in such a short amount of time- reading this book was like being shot out of a cannon; flinging me into a heart pounding ride while I hung on for dear life, with all my senses on high alert…. And I loved every single second!!! Wrath is the deadliest sin, and this story/series explores how wrath can consume a person- and what they are capable of while in its grip. The story is full of passion, destruction, violence, insanity, festering hate, suspense, and revenge. Gwyn McNamee is one of my favourite authors, who can take any genre and deliver something that will completely enthrall me, every time. She’s such a brilliant storyteller, capturing my attention within moments of starting any of her stories and then taking me on a ride that will stay with me long after I’ve closed the book. This story is no different- and I especially loved how she worked and moulded the darkness of the theme. I think she wears darkness beautifully and this book/series is definitely one of my favourites of hers- ever. I would love to read more ‘dark’ stories from her in the future. Because the story is so short, it would be easy to spoil it for you by going into any detail- so I’m not going to explore any of the storyline here- I recommend diving in and letting Gwyn McNamee and the story blow you away. I absolutely loved this series. It contains 4 books and I highly recommend reading them all in order.
The Confectioner’s Guild –
This one was so unique and the added suspense and mystery had me hooked from page 1 and the last 25% of the book I was on the edge of my seat wondering how in the world she was going to make this all work…Brilliant is just one of the words that come to mind. So many things happen in this story that I’m not even going to try to sum it up
The Confectioner’s Exile –
After reading the Confectioner’s Guild book 1 in this series it was completely awesome to go back and read Hale’s story. I don’t normally like doing this but it worked perfectly for me in this case. I was able to get a much better understanding of who Hale is and where he came from, and the lessons and the tragic losses he experienced along the way.
The Confectioner’s Coup –
This was the continued story of Wren and I loved it as much as the first part of this series. She just can’t win when it comes to staying out of the line of fire with being framed for murder and getting out of that to now suspecting the king of being behind guild members being kidnapped and now the enemy has entered the city.
There was some parts of this story that made me so angry and then parts that were so so sad. You don’t really ever know what your gonna get when you open up one of this authors books and I love that.
The Confectioner’s Truth –
There was a lot going on in this story, we met a lot of new people and visited many new places..I loved this part and I felt as if I was right there with Wren as she was making quick decisions and having a lot of inner battles…I found myself trying to help her and felt like I was feeling everything she was. This character has grown so much through these books and I have totally fallen in love with her, and poor Hale…I miss what feels like the old days with Hale and now there he is regretting so many things, this made me sad.
This author has done an amazing job with this series. I’ve loved every word and every page of all of these books. I absolutely can not wait to read them all again!! She ended this series beautifully and in my humble opinion sets the bar high for any other books in this genre.
Brilliant and I can’t wait to read what is to come from this author!! This is one of those books/series that deserves so much more than 5 stars.

Al Capone at the Blanche Hotel isn’t usually a book I’d go for but I thought it deserved the chance all books do, but I’ve got to say I thoroughly enjoyed this read right from the get-go. I loved how this book was written and the creativity this author has brought us. Each chapter flowed effortlessly and brought you along on each main characters journey, they were brilliant characters that held the plot up and made it an engaging and well-developed read. I’m so glad I took the chance on this read, and I can’t wait to see what else this author has to offer.

Rogue Wave (The Inland Seas Series Book 2) by Gwyn McNamee

I just read this book in about 3 hours, I could not put it down once I started. I was so so so angry after Squall Line (angry in a good way LOL) and I could not wait to dive in to this one and I loved it just as much as Squall Line…There was sort of a cliffhanger but not one like the other so Im not swearing after this one.
There was a twist in this one that floored me, I had no idea and I think I kinda like it but I’m not sure, so we will see what the next book brings.
I have fallen in love with all of these people and can’t wait for what I hope is all of their stories. This series is a bit different than I’m used to from this author and Im really really loving it and hope she continues it for a while. I love how she is carrying these stories over into the next book, keeping everyone major players throughout.
I loved it as I do anything that this author writes and can not wait for the next in this series.

I read these as individual stories and waiting for the next story to drop was painful at times (I can be a little Veruca Salti-sh at times.
These stories are full of all the things that make a good YA fantasy series live up to its expectations. There are wonderful friendships, adventure, intrigue, baked goods, action, and a fast paced narrative. This is a very engaging tale and i would recommend it to old and young alike.

This is a series that I loved reading. It has all four of the stories in the Confectioner Chronicle series that are fun and entertaining to read. It has wonderful characters that I fell in love with and wanted them to succeed in whatever they did. There is action, danger, romance, and suspense in these books. There are times when I was turning pages wondering what was going to happen next. I loved the character of Wren. She is strong, intelligent, and independent. Her story is one that pulled me in from the very beginning and didn’t let me go until I read the final page of the final story. This is a YA fantasy novel and I loved how the books included magic and mystery. Besides Wren, there are other characters that I grew to care about and enjoyed reading about them and their interactions with Wren. Many of them are helpful to her. Then there are those with their own agenda what will do anything to make their plans and agenda happen. Don’t miss out on an exciting series that you won’t be able to put down. I highly recommend it. The stories that are included in this set are The Confectioner’s Guild/The Confectioners Coup/The Confectioner’s Truth/The Confectioner’s Exile.

Truck Stopped is the 11th book in the Satan’s Devils MC series by Manda Mellett. Each book in the series can be read as a stand-alone although characters from previous books are part of this story. What can I say about Truck Stopped? OMG this book dragged me through every emotion possible. There are moments of great joy and euphoria that will have you laughing and smiling. Then there are moments of total heartbreak and desperation that will have you sobbing (tissues are definitely recommended when reading this book). I totally loved this book. The main characters of Truck and Allie are amazing. The author has done a wonderful job with these characters. Truck is so broken after an accident while working as a firefighter left him badly scarred, physically and mentally. Allie has spent her whole adult life as a whore, firstly on the streets, then as a sweet butt for the Satan’s Devils MC. I loved the way the story was told, with flashes to 20 years in the future, where Drummer and Peg are reminiscing about what happened with Truck and Allie. I’ve only read a couple of the Satan’s Devils MC series but I have to say that this one gripped me and moved me the most. Just when you thought life couldn’t get any worse for Truck and Allie, yet another curve ball was thrown their way. The resilience that the 2 of them displayed was documented so well by the author. I now need to go back and read some more of this series but I’m not sure any can top Truck and Allie’s story.

Liz teaches in college, her specialty is American crime. She is fascinated with Al Capone and his people. She decides to drop everything to follow her boyfriend across the country, landing a better job in the process. While doing research, she comes across the fact that Al Capone stayed in a hotel in a little town nearby. She has never heard of this, so she decides to do more digging. Little does she know just how much she will uncover and how much it just may affect her.
1930s, a boy witnesses something he should not have seen. At the same time, a man checks into a hotel under a name everyone knows isn’t his real name. Is this man responsible for the violence that has been occurring? Can the good people of this era figure out just what is really happening and save those who need help?
This book is incredible. Liz learns and grows so much from her move, new job, and her research. The stuff she uncovers is fascinating. The events and people of the past are also so intriguing. The author weaves the two eras together flawlessly. I could not put this book down once I started. I felt like I was part of the story, I felt so much for the characters. You learn so much about life in the past, but in a way that is fun.
I highly recommend this book to those who like to read a good story with strong characters.

The Flood by Meghan O’Flynn is a look at humanity in desperate times. This book hooked me from the beginning and I really got invested in Victoria’s story. What has started to become a commonplace weather problem of a flood takes on a whole new level of horror in this story. Victoria and her husband Chad are rescued from their roof by someone who tells them of a safe space with food and water to wait out the continuing storms and rising waters. What they discover when they arrive is most disturbing. I really have enjoyed this author’s books in the past and this did not disappoint in the least. The characters are well written and it tests what people will do when put in a desperate situation.
Perfect title to explain this three-book series. Surviving Wrath. Or just simply surviving. Everyone needs to survive. Well, not everyone. There are certain people in this story that deserve to die. And thankfully McNamee sees fit to make it happen in this book. But then again it wouldn’t be a McNamee book if there wasn’t a twist or two to keep you guessing!
Konstandin and Rea, formerly known as Griffin and Jade to throw off the mafia, are trying desperately to survive the wrath that started in book one.
“So, what I have learned over the last two years is that wrath is a deadly sin. It will take your life. It will take you mind. It will take your heart, but sometimes…The only way to survive wrath is to give into it.”
Such a great story that touches on the dark side of life. But where there is darkness there is always light.
My favorite part of this book was the actual ending. Simple. Done. No questions asked.
Completely recommend this story but you must start with book one.
