Covert Threat (A Gray Ghost Novel, book 5) by Amy McKinley – Review by Angela Hayes

Covert Threat (Gray Ghost #5)Covert Threat by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Covert Threat is the fifth book in the Gray Ghosts series by Amy McKinley- and what a gripping instalment this has been. Sometimes in a series, by the fifth book things are getting a bit stale and starting to peter out as the momentum is slowing down, and the story is much the same as the previous book- BUT this is definitely NOT the case here. This series just seems to get better and better the further into it we get. This book is just as gripping, if not more than the other four books in the series. And that can be attributed to Ms. McKinley’s keen imagination and writing skills.
While this could be read as a standalone, I really recommend reading the rest of the series too- in order to get all the backstories for the recurring characters, background information, and other important details- which will really enhance your reading experience of this book. Not to mention the other books are superb stories in their own rights! You really can’t go wrong with Ms. McKinley!
This story has so much going on in it- right from the beginning I was drawn into the action, completely under Ms. McKinley’s spell. Jules and Trev had me following along right beside them as everything unfolded, captivated by this romantic suspense. As expected the story has plenty of action, drama, violence, suspense, mystery, twists, intrigue, danger, gripping details, and emotion. As with the rest of the series, I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through, devouring the pages to discover what was happening, and loving every minute.
Bring on Book Six!!!!

Thank you, Ms. McKinley!
