Yes, this short story was awesome! This book is a sort of opening for the book The Rise of the House Valdis. We get a little insight into Xenobia and Urd and how they meet and become friends. My heart breaks for both girls as they have a sweet friendship and Xenobia is always looking after and trying to protect Urd, and what befalls them makes me sad. I enjoyed this story. I have not yet had the pleasure of reading the rest of the series yet, but, because of reading this story, the girls, how they met, the life they have to life and the word they come from, I am definitely going to go read the rest of the series. Although it is not my typical genre, the way the the author writes has pulled me in and now I have to find out what happens next!

It is the goal of every author to have your book say, “Look at me! Buy me!” This author provides advice from her experience that will help you start your journey. I liked how it included checklists and some of the pitfalls that you want to avoid. The suggestions provided made sense and that it includes a detailed glossary of terms. I found when reading the book, it was like a friend was talking to me and giving me advice. Every book has a beginning and the author does a wonderful job of helping in that process.

I loved this book. This is not my first book by this author but it is my favorite yet. This is the fourth book in the Dark Sparrow series. I highly suggest reading all the books in this series as they are that good. This author writes with a lot of heart and steam. Her attention to details are great and character development makes them connectable. This story is full of action and steamy romance. It is a fast paced story that is easy to read and kept me turning pages to the end. This is a story about Liam. He has one goal and that is to take his father down and make him pay for all his wrongs. Catriona is a nun and knows her numbers. They are put together to go over Liam’s father’s financial records. Liam finds himself attracted to her, not only that but he is forced to face his emotional scars. What he thought was the right thing to do may not be but she may hold the answers for him. How far is he ready to go to keep her safe and make her his? This is a really great story that I had a hard time putting down. Liam and Catriona kept the story moving and they made great characters that I fell in love with. This made a great afternoon read and I highly recommend this book.

I loved reading the book Finders Reapers: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 4) by Carrie Pulkinen. It is a story that pulled me in from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down until the final page. I loved the characters of Asher and Jasmine. They find themselves in a situation that includes one escaped ghost and disorder in the French Quarter. They will have to work together if they want to get the souls of the lost to the underworld. Read this book to find out what happens. This is a story that has lighthearted moments that made me laugh as well as romantic moments. I grew to care about what happened to Asher and Jasmine with each chapter that I read. I couldn’t help but wish for them to find happiness. I enjoyed the bantering and interactions between the two of them. I also enjoyed reading about the additional characters that had their part to play. The author does a wonderful job of making both the storyline and the characters come alive on the page. Don’t miss out on a story that is intriguing, romantic, comical, and entertaining. I would highly recommend reading it.

This was an enjoyable sweet romance! I have read a few books by this author and i have liked every one of them and this one is no different. The main characters Sam and Casey were likeable and their attraction to each other was high from the start. Sam was my favorite. He was super sweet and just made my heart swoon! Falling for the Texan was another great book by Nicole Flockton. The previous book, One Hot Texas Summer was the first by her I had read and now I’m definitely a fan! The characters are so well written and the plot keeps you reading well into the night. I’m really hoping there will be a book for Trey, the 3rd Prentice brother and so I can keep reading more about Tyler, Gianna, Tate and Kelly!

Falling for the Texan (Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge #2) by Nicole Flockton was a great 5 star read.
I really enjoyed Tyler and Gianna’s story. Of course if you read the 1st book Tyler doesn’t exactly paint a very good picture of himself. As I got to know him better in this read I fell for him.
Tyler is taking on wine making and is starting up his own company. He contacts his friend in New York to help with marketing and PR. Gianna is a New Yorker with the attitude to go with it. She was great and was a great strong character. She was sent to town to help market Tylers new company, but they don’t exactly start off on the right foot even though you can feel the sparks flying between them.
Gianna has planned on staying 2 weeks, she works with Tyler on ideas and designs for the company. The longer she is in town the more she starts to like it and Tyler. She is also hoping that this campaign will be a success and impress her boss.
Will Gianna accomplish her goal? Will she and Tyler get a HEA?
Overall this was a great read. I enjoyed all of the characters and they added a great element to the story. If you’re looking for a great romance this is the one for you. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing and you won’t want to put it down. It can be read as a stand alone, however reading book one will help you connect with some of the characters. 1-click and get started today.

Oh this did my romantic sentimental heart so much good. In the midst of so much turmoil in the world at this moment I loved escaping into these pages and reading about these sisters and the treasure from their grandmother. I loved the way Race built each character and relationship. And I adored the way this story unfolded. Book one in a trilogy that I cannot wait to finish – just a beautiful read.

Ok, im in love with this series even more now. If you haven’t read book 1, go do that first unless you don’t care to read out of order. In this story, we get to see Tyler, who we met in book 1 with his soon to launch wine business. He’s to be getting an advertising deal but instead Gia shows up. I really really liked these two. They just clicked and I could feel their emotions come off the page. I cannot wait to read more, these are great, easy reads but pack alot of heart and emotions.

Book Review: Falling for the Texan Author: Nicole Flockton Four Stars Sweet romance. This is the first book by Nicole Flockton that I have picked up and it will not be the last. The last several chapters of this book when everything is coming to a quick end are definately my favorite moments. I really enjoyed the characters and the depth to them. Alligators in the Trees is such a wonderful story from the ever-talented Cynthia Hamilton. I have read many of Ms. Hamilton’s books now and she never ceases to amaze me by how versatile a writer she is. From mysteries, to romance, powerful non-fiction, and even humorous chick-lit- she masters them all. Ms. Hamilton’s clever and creative stories never fail to cast their spell on me, easily pulling me in and keeping me engrossed from beginning till end. I really didn’t know what to expect going into this book- the title was intriguing but really didn’t give too much away. Even after reading the blurb, I still wasn’t sure that I would be blown away by the story. Of course, I knew it would be a ‘good’ read- because Ms. Hamilton wrote it, but I still had my reservations. But boy-oh-boy did she show me- I should never have doubted her for even a second. This was brilliant, the story captured me right from the get-go, and I couldn’t believe how easily I became invested in the story and the wonderfully quirky, interesting, and strangely endearing characters. This is what I would class as a character study story- a character driven plot woven around the lives of three mismatched, struggling characters who all happen to end up at the same grungy diner, for different reasons. Little do they realise that ending up at the grimy dive that is ‘Frank’s Diner’ will impact them far more than they ever imagined. Prolific poetry writer Priscilla Vanderpool took on a job waitressing at Franks as a way of avoiding challenging herself, taking risks, or expecting too much from her life. Her fears have held her back for such a long time. Waitressing is merely a means-to-an-end for her- as she basically stumbled into the job and stayed because she didn’t have anywhere else to be. Philip Glessner had a thriving architectural firm and a stellar reputation, until one of his buildings collapsed thus throwing his well-ordered world into chaos- drowning him in a bottomless pit of debt and a mountain of legal woes. It was pure chance that led him to the diner, looking for a place to hide out from pushy reporters. That was months ago, but he returns daily, not for the food- but because he’s developed a crush on Priscilla. So, while his world falls apart, his business fails, and his wife tries to squeeze him dry- Phillip finds some solace in Priscilla’s steady and calm demeanour. Then we meet Tobias Jordan, the reclusive, aging, world-weary, former Rockstar who’s desperately trying to recapture his mojo and recreate his former success. Hiding out from the paparazzi, he ducks into the diner to find a quiet moment to focus his thought and maybe write some new lyrics. But what he never expected was to find a muse there, in the form of Priscilla, who unknowingly ignites his creativity and inspires new songs. What Ms. Hamilton has managed to create is a beautifully balanced story- with a focus on character development, but not at the expense of the intriguing story that she engineers so beautifully. This story may seem simple, but it is deceptively complex- with many layers, a high degree of detail, a few surprises to keep things unpredictable, and all so vividly descriptive- including the song lyrics that pepper the story and add extra interest. All the elements are cleverly choreographed into quite an impactful read, which I certainly didn’t wasn’t anticipate- making this all the more memorable. A true unexpected pleasure, and another glistening gem to add to Ms. Hamilton’s crown.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I love Cynthia Hamilton. This book was so unlike anything I’ve read from her, I wasn’t sure how I would feel. The raw emotion portrayed in this book was heartwarming. It made for a fantastic read. I loved learning how a writer can go from one genre to another without any transition. It was flawless just as her other books are. This is a phenomenal story that is mostly factual but written as fiction as the way she writes. I can not wait for another book from Cynthia Hamilton- bring. It on.

I truly think Erica is my soul mate. She tries to be as normal as possible, but really ends up failing in what I think is the best possible way. The incident in the storage room at the beginning is something I could have done in the same situation. It only endeared her to me at lot sooner than I would have expected.
Matt is a good friend for putting up with Nate and having to be his wingman, there is something to be said about having a friend who would do anything for you. I would know since I’m fortunate enough to have one.
Who could have expected the turn out for the singles art class? Who could have expected that that first class was the start of something totally unexpected?
I really enjoyed the twists and turns in this book. Started off with small things but then the incidents got bigger and bolder.
I hope I’m not the only one, but am I the only who heard the book in their head with the Australian accent? Oh, I really hope not.
The book flowed well and I throughly enjoyed it. I believe this the first book by Ms. Mannersly I have had the pleasure of reading, and I hope to see more by her in the future.

I love a head strong female lead. I loved Tyler for his determination to get things done on his and not take advantage of his family name. These two together were like fireworks and I enjoyed seeing them fizzle out and come together in the end.

This book served as a love letter to the author’s mother’s life and it’s so beautifully written as she makes her mother human. A human and mother I could relate to. As a nurse, we know how the disease affects others but not quite sure how a person’s life was until we look into their life stories and this book paints a vivid picture Ruth left behind. I would highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to take a trip back in time, especially women who want to know how to overcome so much while balancing being mothers and in relationships. Great read!

Falling for the Texan is the second book in Nicole Flockton’s Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge series and we have one more brother to go! Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge is the spinoff of Sweet Texas trilogy that Nicole wrote Sweet Texas Fire for, the other two books were written by two other writers. The first Prentice brothers to get the book was Tate and I have to say that Tyler (who is the lead in this second book) was not a very amicable person in it and I was not a fan of his so I was a bit apprehensive when I picked up Falling for the Texan… On the other hand I knew there had to be something in it as he is one of the Prentice brothers, duh! So, we have Tyler who is a former farmer following his dream of making it as a wine maker. Gianna is a sassy big city marketing executive (and Italian!!!) that feels that she is being punished by given the account of a no name vineyard in the middle of nowhere of Texas … well, it seems there are couple of redeeming things going on – Tyler’s brother is a famous baseball star that could endorse the brand AND Gianna will show her boss who is the hoss! Add to this a sleazy man child Keith who thinks because his daddy is rich then he is entitled everything and everyone and the chemistry off the charts and you will be sucked in! This is my first book by this author, I enjoyed it and look forward to more from them. This story is full of action and adventure. I found this book to be engaging and easy to read. It is a well developed story that has characters that made me feel as if I was right there with them. I had no problems connecting with them and they certainly brought the story to life for me. The author’s attention to detail was so great that it made the story exciting to read. It is a fast paced story that kept me turning pages to the end. Lots going on in this book, you don’t want to miss. There is alot going on in this book, I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens when there is a battle for survival and a deadly hidden secret could change everything.

I enjoyed this book. This is my first book by this author, I look forward to reading more from this author. This is a well developed story that left me turning pages fast. The characters bring this story to life and made me feel as if I am right there with them. I had no problems connecting to them. This is a fun, exciting story that is engaging and easy to read. This is a story about Morgan. She is an emergency nurse who has a near death experience. She now has some psychic abilities and she doesn’t feel like herself. But it has also given her the confidence to open herself up to romance. But what she sees in him could be better left unseen. I really enjoyed this book and it made a great afternoon read. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens with Morgan.

This is not my first book by this author, it is one of my favorites by her. I enjoyed being pulled into the story right from the beginning. This is a romance story that will leave you believing or not believing if opposites attract and if some people just fall in love faster than others. This is a well written story that has characters that brought the story to life. I had no problems connecting with them. They kept me turning pages fast just wanting to see what would happen next. This is a story about Allison and Jake. Jake is a man who has been married seven times. He feels that he is unlucky in love but then he meets Allison. She is a journalist that convinces her editor to let her write an article on why there is such a compulsion to saying “I do”. When she gets to his ranch will she realize that there is more to Jake than first meets the eye? As she learns his views on life and marriage, it starts making her question her own life. What will happen with these two is up to you to read this book. You won’t regret picking this up, I didn’t. It was a great story that I enjoyed. I highly recommend this book.

I really enjoyed reading Forest Park: A Logan McKenna Mystery book 2. Valerie Davisson has such attention to detail which makes this book enjoyable. This book Logan finds herself in Portland with new friends and an explosion happens. Logan wants to help with the investigation. I have to admit that I did not see that coming. Davisson wrote some big twists and turns that kept my attention. I thought I knew what I was going to happen and BAM there was a twist. I was going through everything with Logan. Will Logan be able to solve the mystery in time? The other characters make the story go forward. You will have to read the story to figure out what everyone goes through and what happened with the explosion.

While history was not my favorite genre, I have learned to really like them. I like to see history through other people’s eyes. In this book N.L. Holmes took to the past. The plotline held my interest and I found myself flying through the pages. There had to be hours of research to make the story seem real. The characters are fully developed and connectable. The story is about a young charioteer who saw his father and grandfather in an accident that was more than just an accident. Will good and evil be discovered or will they remain hidden? Can the charioteer deal with what is happening around him? You will have to read the book to find out the answers to these questions.

I have read a couple of books from this author and now she is one of my new favorites. This is the second book of the Prentice brothers of Sweet Ridge series. I absolutely love small town romance but this author exceeded all expectations with this book. This book could be read as a stand alone but there are previous characters in this story as well. I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately. It only took me a few hours to devour this amazing story.
Tyler Prentice lives for his winery. He is so excited for his launch but he needs some help. Tyler calls one of his high school friends for help and he sends him a city girl. When Tyler first meets Gianna he knows she is going to be trouble. She is very cold and quiet with him but when they start to get to know each other he feels a connection to her. Tyler knows he needs to focus on his launch but he can’t stop thinking about her but does she feel the same way? Will Tyler swallow his pride and find love or will he keep it just business?

Better Than Goodbye reminded me a typical Hallmark movie with its predictable ending, but you still find yourself reading fast ahead to follow this relationship. The characters were well developed, but I do feel that I would have been more connected to the characters if the story would have been from a first-person point of view, feeling those feelings as my own in a sense. With this being book 1 of this series, I am interested to see where this series leads next.

Falling For The Texan is the 2nd book in the Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge series by Nicole Flockton. Each book in this series can be read as a standalone. I had not read the first book in this series and did not feel that I was missing any necessary information to enjoy and understand this book. I had, however, read and enjoyed other books by Nicole Flockton so I knew that there was every chance that I would enjoy this one, and I did, very much. Falling For The Texan is very much an opposites attract story. Tyler Prentice is the country boy working hard to make his vineyard in Sweet Ridge Texas a success and Gianna Lucchia is top advertising exec from New York who is sent to ensure the success of his new wine label. She’s sent as a punishment for supposedly losing a big client and a small town in Texas is the last place on earth she wants to be, I loved Tyler and Gianna’s story. They do everything to fight the attraction and chemistry between them. For Gianna, having a relationship with a client is a major no no and Tyler refuses to admit that this smart city lady actually can see the real him that no one else does. Can Tyler and Gianna look past all then reasons that they shouldn’t be together and have the HEA they they both deserve? Read this great book and find out how Tyler and Gianna’s story unfolds.

Alamir: Blood of Kaos by Nesa Miller is an exciting fantasy story with some really interesting characters. Etian is a strong and wilful heroine that is thrown unexpectedly into a world that she didn’t believe existed. For me this book was made by the characters. I thought each of them had a unique take about them and they all worked together to make the story stronger. The overall writing itself I found to be a little disjointed although the story was exciting to read. It definitely felt like the first book in the series and I am convinced that it will only get better as the series goes on. I am looking forward to see where the author takes this series and I am certainly looking forward to reading more of these brilliant characters.

Falling for the Texan (Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge Book 2) by Nicole Flockton. I love this series and Nicole Flockton but I think this has been my favorite so far. I love Tyler and Gianna! Tyler Prentice is a working on starting up winery and he wants it to be the classiest place in town. The oldest of the Prentice brother, Ty is working as hard as he’s ever worked and he wants the opening to be perfect. . His College friend Craig is supposed to be his advertising man but when he can’t fulfill the duties Ty hires Gianna Lucchia who is a big wig advertiser in New York but has hit a bump in her career. A huge account loss has sent her to some small town in Sweet Ridge, Texas and she’s determined she has to make this event a success to save her career. Gia is a small town girl but she has a plan to do her job and get back to New York the only problem being she is very attracted to Ty and she wasn’t expecting that. Ty finds himself thinking more about Gia than the winery. Will Gia be able to forget the pain in her past and let her walls down to make it work with Ty. Read Falling for the Texan to find out!

This was such a wonderful read from beginning to end. This is my first read by Lucinda Race, and I can’t wait to read more by her. This was an easy read that flowed effortlessly from chapter to chapter that had me hooked from the very beginning. I absolutely loved these characters, they really brought the story to life, made it more real and even made me connect to the story that bit more. Jamie and Caleb were everything and more, I loved following their journey and loved finding out what fate had in store for them. This book really does give you all the best of emotions but I think all the best romance reads do! This is a book not to be missed, its captivating, romantic and swoon-worthy all at the same time and should be read by all! I highly recommend this book and can’t wait to read more from this author!
