A Dead Man Speaks (A Clive January Mystery Book 1) by Lisa Jones Gentry is a crime, mystery and thriller all rolled into one and is a good start to the series. The plot was done well and is interesting and the characters are well developed. There are paranormal aspects and a little twist to the story that make it pop. The Detective is on the case and his track record shows him to be able to solve the unsolvable, but he will need the help of the victim to find a killer.

Rock Star on the Verge is the ninth book in the Rogue Series by Lara Ward Cosio Holy Cow ! I absolutely loved this book . I pretty much got lost in the pages and nothing else mattered until I finished. This is about Donal and Conor and their journey to finding themselves. Get ready for one heck of an emotional rollercoaster ride as these two travel through Europe. Find out what happens next in this must read. I highly recommend reading this whole series in order as it will give you the full effect of the characters and the journey leading up to this book. Plus once you read one book in this series you will be hooked and want to know what happens next. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

This book pulled me in from page one!!! This is the fifth book in the series and they just keep getting better with each one. It will definitely keep you thinking with every twist and turn that it takes. The mystery and suspense will have you flipping the pages wanting more and more. Tompkin’s School: For The Dearly Departed (A Supernatural Academy Trilogy Book 2) by Tabi Slick was an interesting paranormal read. I really enjoyed the development of Kain and Izara throughout this book. I loved getting to see more of the history and the attention to detail was great for further world building. I thought the pacing was great, I didn’t feel rushed or dragged down in any way. I cannot wait to see what happens in the third book and to get all of my questions answered!

This was such a great book and set only 30 minutes from where I live! Was cool to read about places ive been around town and know what they’re ‘seeing’. First off Penny and her sisters. My goodness those girls had to have had a rough life growing up with the names they had but as a parent I see what they did with the name play. Penny was so easy to see my self in and like. And George or Geo, well he’s just a man putting on a face so no one can see he’s just a big teddy bear . Had some laughs in this and was truly entertained. Hope we get some books about the sisters as those will be fun!

Hero High: Heartbreak Rebellion is the second book in the Hero High Collections by Mina Chara. This collection is books 4-6 and I enjoyed these books as much as I did when reading the third book in the series. The story takes place in Iron City where crime seems to be on the rise. Friday Fitzsimmons is part of the Hero Channel and sees stardom on the horizon. Unfortunately, fame comes with a price; her whole life is controlled by the producers. Friday really struggles with a secret she uncovers about the ties between Hero TV and the Iron City jail. On top of that she is having a hard time deciding between her interest in Doctor Dangerous, a villain in the city, or her new team member Luke. This story was a nice quick read with a good mixture of fantasy and romance. Friday is pretty kick ass in my opinion and I think she is a really good main character in this story.

This was an awesome story. I love ghost stories, especially when there is a mystery around it. Lisa Jones Gentry did a great job writing this story. For me at least, there was no confusion about what was happening. The characters are fully developed and personable. The plot of the story is intriguing. Clive, who was well todo, got shot and killed. That is when the story begins. Clive was an investment banker. He wants to find his killer. That is when it becomes interesting. Clive teams up with Detective Bob to help solve a murder. There are feelings and obstacles that Clive needs to get done to be able to move on. I highly recommend this book to see what exactly happens to Clive and Detective Bob.

The Dating Itinerary by Brooke Williams was a cute fun Rom-Com. Penny and Geo are rivals in the newspaper world. Both are working on similar stories about dating and they keep running into each other. I have to say that I’m happy that I don’t have to date these days, all the different ways of dating just sound more like headaches. The question is will Penny and Geo find love…
Penny and Geo had great chemistry and I loved their bantering. Brooke Williams’s writing is good and easy to fall for; my only complaint is the storyline was a little predictable at times.

Hero High: Heartbreak Rebellion is a collection of stories within the Hero High series from Mina Chara. These three books are actually books four, five, and six in the series so I would personally recommend reading the first set of books in the series so you know where and what is going on with the characters. This is a really neat premise of books and I have really enjoyed reading the stories since the beginning. Fitzsimmons is traversing Icon City and her Hero High. The unique spin on this is the tv show the characters have to be involved in. I can’t really give much more because I would fear ruining some of the good stories that are there but this is one you don’t want to miss. I love the fast pace the stories read at and the lack of over detailing that sometimes can be in fantasy or sci fi type novels. This series will have you sitting on the edge of your seat and guessing and hoping that your theories are right. I am anxious to see what else we will get next from Mina Chara and if there will be more books in the Hero High series.

This is the second book in the Soppranaturale series. I highly recommend reading book one to understand the characters and what they have been through already. This story is full of action, adventure, magic, supernatural, and danger. In the first book, we were introduced to Ommilu and Link. They are the last two Fae and their journey has not been an easy one. In this story, they are Guards at the hotel. They are pushed to limits they themselves cannot expect. This is a fast paced story, The pages just fly by and the book can be read in one sitting. You will want to read the whole book to see what happens to Ommilu and Link.

We are back with Rune Leveau at the Luck Devil Bar. We Met Rune in Book one when she had inherited the bar from her Aunt who had recently passed away. The Lucky Devil series is about a young woman named Rune who is a wife named June Masterson who reinvented herself after her abusive husband threw her under the bus for his crimes. Rune doesn’t trust the corporations so things are rough until she decides she wants to find out her ex-husband’s secrets. Rune is a great protagonist and Saint Benedict is just the perfect love interest for her despite both of them carrying serious emotional baggage. The story truly does deepen and expand, building on the characters and plots from the first book. The world Megan builds is so clear. Magic and corporate intelligence, is a wonderful combination. Once again Megan Mackie has created a book that has the old world and modern world colliding in the most amazing way. There is magic, action adventure, suspense, some mystery, drama, tension, chemistry, intrigue, danger, secrets, different realms….as well as a slew of mystical and mythical creatures. Who wouldn’t want to jump down this rabbit hole?!?!

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book because I have never read Danielle Jacks prior but once I saw the cute and fun cover I just knew I needed to give it a go and see what story was there. This is one that will make you remember everything you love about summer, that magic that is in the air when you are a young adult is something that seems to go by the wayside to adult things as we get older but this captured the fun and adventurous time that can be. Kara and Bear were a blast to read and the way the story unfolded led the reader on until the last page where you just hope and pray for the happily ever after to come for these two. You will have to read this for yourself to find out if they get that but the adventure it takes you on is well worth the few hours you will spend with Kara and Bear. I can’t wait to see what else is available from Danielle Jacks!

This is the second book in the series and I would recommend that you read the first part to fully understand this one. Fairies are so rare and now there are two in the hotel. After winning the gauntlet, Link and Ommily joined the guard. Not everyone is happy about that but they need to put aside their differences if they are to overcome the battle that awaits them. Sacrifices need to be made and some may need to make the ultimate one.
This is a romance filled with action and fantastical creatures. Magic abounds within these pages. The author pulls you in and keeps you wondering what will happen next. This book was a great addition to the series. The ending leaves the author room to take the story in a multitude of directions. I’m excited to see what will happen next.

The Crocodile Makes No Sound is the second book of N.L. Holmes’ Lord Hani Mysteries. I am blown away by the research that the writer has done and I am eternally grateful for the list of characters at the beginning of the story as I found myself going back there constantly as I tell you it is not so easy to remember the names and backgrounds as one would think! You can read the story as a standalone as it has its own storyline and what is amazing is that Lord Hani is an actual person and so many elements in the story are ‘real’, the whole story itself is fiction. I suggest you take time when you start reading as then you can fully appreciate the details that the writer brings into her storytelling, it is like a colourful tapestry that you need to look at long and hard to truly see all the colors and connections and … the way she has with words, oh my, I have no words … If you love history and especially Egyptian history AND mysteries then this book is for you and it pulls you in and you cannot leave it until you come to the end to see whether Lord Hani manages to resolve a conflict without too many losing their lives …

I enjoyed this book. This is the second book in this series which I enjoyed just as much if not more than the first book. This is a sweet romance story that pulled me in right from the beginning. The characters are well developed and I had no problem connecting with them as they brought the story to life. Jessica is the face of her fitness business that is going strong. When Ant comes into her life, she is faced with a challenge to make him ripped in just a few months. She is attracted to him right from the start, will she lose her heart to him? Ant makes the changes but are they good? Now she starts questioning herself, business and if he was perfect before she changed him. What happens next you will have to read but you won’t want to miss it. I enjoyed their chemistry and watching their relationship grow. They made great characters, they certainly made the story easy to read. I highly recommend this book and this author.

The Crocodile Makes No Sound by N.L. Holmes is the second book in the Lord Hani Mystery series. This book can be read as a standalone book even though it follows the same MC. The author does a great job of making it so the story is easy to understand while still being gripping and exciting. It was great to get back into the character of Lord Hani. His world feels so alien in comparison to what I am used to however I could vividly picture what the author was describing. There were times where it honestly felt like I was there with the character, in his world, experiencing what he was going through. The story itself is intriguing and I wanted to know what was going to happen and how things would work out eventually. I was hooked by what was going on and enjoyed this story as much as the first. This was an exciting book and one I enjoyed immensely. I am looking forward to what else is to come in the series.

Rookie moves: A Quick Snap Novella by Tarrah Anders is a great story with loveable characters in it. This is the perfect kind of novella – it was short, sweet and packed full of romance. I found this book was so easy to engage with and once I had started it I absolutely flew through it. The characters were amazing, I enjoyed everything about them. They were so well matched and really brought out the best in each other. Tarrah Anders really has a way of creating stories that are interesting and fun and always leave me wanting more. I am so excited to delve more into the rest of the books available in this series.

I loved this book. It is the second book in the Rhodes Family Series and follows the story of the sister Ava. I loved reading this book. The characters are so well written and likeable.
We meet Ava, Thomas and Hunter in the first story but we don’t get to know much about their story until now.
Ava, Thomas and Hunter have been friends for years, completely inseperable. Little did they realise that their friendship was turning into love.

Hero High: Figure In The Flames by Mina Chara . I have loved this series. Its not my usual genre but I have completely fallen in love with this set. Each book is a story of Friday Fitzsimmons who has just realized she has super powers and is sent to Hero High, a school for kids with super powers set in the futuristic city of Icon. She is also recorded 24/7 on Hero’s Highs tv channel Hero TV. The producers of the channel have her life all worked out for her from what she wears to who she hangs out with. She is also learning how to use the super powers she has found. When she finds out that Hero TV has a lot of corruption behind it she is struggling with just going along with the producers and letting them make her famous to finding out what’s really going on. Each book has mystery, suspense and love and they will take you on a crazy ride. Will Friday solve the mystery before the life she loves is destroyed or will she save Hero HIgh? Read the Hero HIgh series to find out. I do recommend reading the first books to get a general feel of the characters and places.

Secure Heart is the 3rd book in the fantastic Chase Security Series by R.L. Dunn. Each book in the series could be read as a standalone but I would recommend them all, and doing so in order as previous events are mentioned and may make more sense if you have read the previous books. Added to the fact that they are all fantastic books then I’m sure it would be no hardship to read them all. We got to know a bit about Julian Dupart in the 2nd book Secure Again and I’m so glad that R.L. Dunn chose to give him his own book as I was interested to find out more about this intriguing man. We really get to know Julian throughout this book and I absolutely loved this man. He’s super smart and a total whizz at his job but we get to see so much more of Julian and discover that he has a heart of gold. His leading lady in this book is Holly Dupree Morrison and I adored her too. She’s had a horrible life so far and will do absolutely anything to protect her adorable daughter Sadie. I must add that Sadie absolutely stole my heart. She is the most adorable child ever and had me in tears at a few points with her whole outlook on life (and death). As with the previous books in the series there’s so much more than the romance story going on and in Secure Heart the storyline running alongside the romance is dark and dangerous and very entertaining. I was really gripped by the story and did not want to put this book down. I desperately hope that R.L. Dunn choses to write more about the Chase Security team.

That Incredible Kiss is the third book in the incredible ‘Kissed by Fate’ series by Tamara Ferguson. As expected, his is another fantastic addition to the series- Ms. Ferguson never fails to deliver a captivating read- and this story had me engrossed right from the get-go. A story of fate, tragedy, separation, dark secrets, romance… and so much more. The characters are so well developed, interesting, and endearing. I love being able to re-visit Crystal Rock and Dragonfly Pointe through Ms. Ferguson’s stories- and this story was no exception. This is Ashley and Brian’s story, who have a history together. A rocky start turns into something that held the promise of a bright future- but tragedy ripped them apart. It’s taken 10 years, but they are finally reunited. Will fate allow them a second chance to be together? What happens when secrets are revealed? This is a fast paced, quick, and easy read. The author packed a lot into the story- in a great way- making for a wonderful read!

Vanishing Day is the fourth book in The Logan McKenna Seriesby Valerie Davisson. This is a mystery series- with tension, drama, danger, intrigue, and suspense. Logan McKenna has been through a lot over the course of the series- but this book plunges her back into peril- with her facing yet more danger as she tries to help her new neighbour and her young daughter. This series does seem to get better with each new addition. Although I did have a few issues with this story- they didn’t detract too much from my enjoyment of the story.

Eternal Wanderings: The Continuing Journey of Kara O’Keefe is the fourth book in The Eternal Cycle series by Danielle Ackley-McPhail. It is an intriguing and original fantasy- woven with such vivid detail that the story and characters came to life before my eyes. This is something Ms. Ackley-McPhail does incredibly well. But, having said that, I would like to have read a longer version of the story and gotten even more detail. There are times the story lags a little, and other times where it seemed a little disjointed and confusing. But I have come into the series on book four, so I am intrigued to go back to read the other books and see if that helps me appreciate this book better. It is a very quick read- with a several ‘bonus’ stories to be found at the conclusion of Eternal Wanderings. I love that Ms. Ackley McPhail has such a wonderfully creative imagination, as her stories are nothing if not unique and original. So, I look forward to seeing what she does next.

The Guard by Ashley Pagano is the second book in A Soppranaturale Series. First, read the book prior to this one before delving into this book. This book picks up shortly after where the first ended. Ommily and Link are back and have a lot to get through. There is no rest for them in protecting the Soppranaturale Hotel as the two remaining fae. This book takes the reader to a new and interesting world, which keeps the reader on the edge of their seat. I stayed up late into the night to finish this because I had to know what was going to happen. I just couldn’t wait. I enjoy that this is not a straight up fantasy but has a bit of romance, action, and plenty of twists and turns. It was a great way to spend a rainy day. I look forward to reading more from Ashley Pagano in the future.

Grosse Pointe by Natalie Barnes is a superb historical fiction story- a bit of a mafia romance set in the prohibition era. This is my first read by Ms. Barnes, so I really didn’t know what to expect going into the story- but I was pleasantly surprised by what I found between the covers, and am glad I took a chance and grabbed myself a copy of this book to read. I will definitely be going back to see what else of Natalie Barnes work I can find to explore. I will also be keeping my eye out for any new releases from her, also. Like I said, this story is set in the prohibition era- the year, 1926- with gangsters, dolls, bubbly, and guns. I really enjoyed the way the author brought the period to life- I was right there, experiencing the story right alongside the characters. It did take me a couple of chapters to get into the story, but once I got a handle on the story and style- things became more interesting.

Her Blackened Heart is the second book in The Blackened Series by Isra Sravenheart. As with the first book, this is quite an original story- again with a bit of a fairytale-esque feel to it. But again, it stands apart from other ‘fairytale’ type stories in that it is all about the ‘villain’. It is a fantasy- full of magic, a powerful dark witch, revenge, power struggles, spells, witches, loves, good vs evil, danger, rivalry, and some adventure. We once again join Lady Isra, a powerful witch- with a bit of a black heart, and Astrid the raven/man, Isra’s loyal companion. But, with other characters to add some intrigue and drama- there’s never a dull moment. And we may just get to discover that even the darkest souls can find the light. I did enjoy this book more than the first- and am intrigued by what is yet to come.

The Dating Itinerary by Brooke Williams is a fun read about living in the singles scene. Written in a fun, humorous way, the author takes the characters on a crazy hunt for love. Penny is a cute, smart reporter taking on the a task of the cluster of options on the dating scene. George is her adversary in her work. Will he be her friend or foe in this adventure? This was a fun read which had me laughing and thankful not to be in the dating scene anymore. I enjoyed Penny because she is a determined and smart young woman with her eye on her goals. George is a good counter to Penny. I enjoyed the interactions between the two. This was a fun, quick read that helped to break me out of the doldrums. I look forward to reading more from this enjoyable writer in the future.

Secure Heart is the third book in the Chase Security seriesby R.L Dunn. It is a bit of a romantic suspense, with second chances, danger, stalking, drama, emotion, chemistry, spice, and plenty of character growth. I am really having trouble picking my favourite from out of this series (so far)- as each book is quite riveting. Again, as with the previous books, there is a lot going on in the book- and I liked the fresh feel to the storyline- as well as having a lot of characters to keep track of- which all the series books seem to have, and is a characteristic I now associate with R.L Dunn’s work. It definitely adds extra interest to the story. I loved Holly, and Sadie. They’re such great characters- and I loved the extra emotive quality that Sadie brought to the overall storyline. Julian is just as smooth as I would have expected, being a Chase Security team member, not to mention former Navy SEAL- and it was great to tag along for the ride, and really ‘get to know him’. The story is really well developed, with palpable tension and suspense woven throughout the storyline. The emotional component was both heartaching, and at times very touching. This was a really engaging and enjoyable read! Looking forward to the next book!

Tidal Love by K.M Lowe is a great story. It is a little different to other books of Ms. Lowe’s that I have read, but still with the wonderful characters, interesting storyline, and emotional content that I have come to expect from her stories. Harleigh Harrison is trying to get her life back on track and get a fresh start. She sets off on a vacation which promises sunny beaches, blue seas, relaxation, beautiful scenery, and of course, a few cocktails to help ease her tension. Giovani owns the hotel in Bulgaria- and has had his fair share of drama in his life. He is focusing on his business, and growing his empire. Then Harleigh walks into his life- and things get interesting. What ensues makes for a sweet read.
