Valerie Davisson is one of my favorite crime/mystery/thriller writers. Logan is a character that I cannot wait to read about her case. She grabs me from the first page until the last. There were many twists and turns that kept me reading, The story is a fast pace but again I had to make sure that I read everything because it is easy to miss one little clue that you could come to a conclusion that was a twist or a turn in the wrong direction. With every page, I felt like I was with Logan throughout the story. Logan is trying to solve another mystery that brings her choice of a friend in check. Logan doesn’t realize that her friend is not her friend. She needs to bring out a killer and has looked deeper than ever before. Can Logan bring the killer to justice? Will she get out from underneath this case? I highly recommend this book because it will leave you speechless.

This is my first book by this author and it will not be my last. I found that this story was a fast pace story. It is well written and I found myself turning the pages to see what is going to happen next. The suspense kept me wanting more and more. There is a murderer in town and they need to find out if there is more than meets the eye. The clues are subtle and can be missed if you read too fast. The story is so realistic that I thought it was a real crime story. There are so many twists and turns that you will start leaning one way and then smack it takes you down a different path. I highly recommend this story if you love thrillers, mysteries, and crime stories.

The Patience of Karma is the fifth book in Cynthia Hamilton’s Madeline Dawkins’ series and like every other book in the series it can be read as a standalone. My suggestion though is to read the series in the order as you will learn more about Madeline and her partner Mike with every book and every book builds upon the previous one when it comes to their story … In The Patience of Karma we will have two cases that the team takes upon themselves to solve – one with an uncle looking for his presumed dead nephew as his niece needs a kidney transplant and he is their last hope; the other case seems to be open shut case of cheating but nothing is ever as it seems … the closer they get to solving the cases, the more surprises we encounter, the more invested we get in the outcome … add this Mike and his past that comes knocking and we have a story that throws a punch!

I feel as though every review for this series starts the same. Each installment is better than the last and my mind is blown. I feel most book series meet their expiration at book three so the fact that Valerie Davisson and Logan still have my attention, definitely says something about book 4. I thoroughly enjoyed Vanishing Day, there is sensitive subject matter written well and a storyline that once again grasps my attention from day one. I love how the characters intertwine and of course, a strong female main character. I think of all the books in the Logan McKenna series, Vanishing Day had the most characters I really just warmed up to. If you haven’t read any of Valerie Davisson’s writing but you enjoy a fast paced, thrilling storyline, I definitely recommend giving her writing a try. 5 out of 5 stars for this one!

‘THE PATIENCE OF KARMA’, is book five in Cynthia Hamilton’s ‘Madeline Dawkins Mystery’ series and having read and thoroughly enjoyed the previous books I was really looking forward to this latest instalment and was definitely not disappointed. This story had me hooked from page one with its exciting storyline. Private Investigator Madeline Dawkins has three cases to solve at once in this novel. In a tragic case, Madeline must help find Daniel, a drifter and who has been estranged from his family presumed dead until recently, but who is his sisters last hope of survival if he has a compatible kidney he’s willing to donate. In another case a famous composer believes his young wife is having an affair but as Madeline seeks to prove she’s innocent the truth is even more dangerous. Meanwhile, Madeline’s husband Mike Delaney is having to deal with the possible consequences to his life from choices he made over a decade ago. As Madeline and Mike work together to solve the cases they dig deep into the past to uncover the truth amongst all the secrets, but end up putting themselves in danger. In the background Madeline also has the worry of the whereabouts of her ex husband. As her and Mike tackle three of the toughest cases they have ever faced, they will both be left changed in ways they could never have anticipated. I was hooked from the first page and the storyline was fast paced and the narrative flowed well. The plot has plenty of drama and suspense and the mystery elements kept me guessing until the end. Madeline is a great main character and heroine of the stories and I felt like I was back with an old friend whilst reading this novel. I like how the author weaves the personal aspects of Madeline and Mike’s lives into the mystery crime story. This novel can be read as a standalone story, however the reader would understand more of Madeleine’s backstory if they have read the previous books in the series. I definitely recommend this enjoyable and engaging novel and I think that it is a five star read.

This series is nothing like ive read before. Who wouldn’t want to visit an adult themed theme park? Each book is following someone new, but we do see the same characters throughout and these need to be read in order as they follow a series of events and you’ll want it to make sense. Reign by Via Mari is the third book in the Larussio Legacy series. I would recommend reading this series in order so you can fully understand what is happening in the story. This book is an absolutely fantastic addition to the series. It has everything in that you come to expect from this author and is also a gripping and intriguing story. I was drawn straight back into these characters as if I had only just put the second book down. Gio and Serena are brilliant together, their chemistry is undeniable! The author has really built this story up over the 3 books well and I really enjoyed this one! I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. This is another amazing book by and truly incredible author.

What a sweet, funny and sexy read. I was pleasantly surprised by how much Tarrah Anders got into only 99 pages. Rookie Moves: A Quick Snap Novella is a great read, especially if your looking for something short and sweet and still has body to the storie. Tarrah has great character development and shows that you don’t always need drama in a romance. Perfect introduction to a new Author for me.

This is the 4th book in the Logan McKenna series and these books keep getting better and better. I love that they have a strong female lead character and the characters are so well written it feels like you are actually there.
In this book Logan is dragged into a mystery that she never imagined when her new neighbour ends up in hospital. Was this a random incident or is something not adding up with her new neighbour. Logan starts to think that the neighbour isn’t what she seems to be and starts on a path to draw out her attacker. But how dangerous is the path she is walking and should she really be involving herself in something she doesn’t understand.
Its a gripping story full of twists and turns that keeps you guessing.

When your new nextdoor neighbour is not quite what you thought, will this be the next adventure.
Lori is a single mother who has moved into the house next door to Logan, although they keep to themselves. One day a commotion happens and the husband turns up looking for the daughter, the only trouble Lori has run away due to the husband being abusive. Logan involves herself to try and help Lori get away from the husband and live a happier life.
I have loved this series, getting to know Logan in each of the stories seeing her confidence grow within each story. This story hits hard as the subject matter can be a little tough to swallow but the way Valerie weaves the story makes a difficult subject matter readable and understand the reasons why Lori does what she does.
I love the way all the characters add to the story and with the plot lines weaving through it makes a interesting read, I can’t wait to read the next installment in this great series and see what happens to Logan in the next book.

This is such a fun, sweet romantic read that I was hooked on from the get-go. The storyline was easy to read and flowed effortlessly, and was made even better by the brilliant characters. These characters are real and I loved watching them grow throughout the read and see their chemistry get stronger until it was undeniable and off the scale. I love a great feel-good romance read that gives you all the feels of a great romance book! I can’t wait to read another book by this author, but until then I highly recommend this read.

Her Blackened Heart (The Blackened Series Book 2) by Isra Sravenheart. This is the 2nd book in the Blackened Series and its just as good as the 1st. This book will grab you and not let go until you are finished. Its the continuing story of Lady Isra who a very strong witch and is always up to no good. She is trying her best to get Contessia, a good witch, on the dark and narrow path. Lady Isra also has a love interest that may or may not be what they appear. Also added to the fray is a battle with Everlida and she’s a very powerful enemy. I love this book because it is so different from others with the bad guy being the POV. To me it made the story even more interesting and different! Will Contessia convert to the dark side or will she beat Lady Isra at her own game? Read Her Blackened Heart to find out!

The Patience of Karma is the fifth book in the exciting Madeline Dawkins Series by Cynthia Hamilton. With Mike’s past catching up with him and adding another challenge to the pile, there’s a lot for the team to untangle. I enjoy the format of having multiple mysteries on the go at once. It means we can be held in suspense on one side of the story while we read about another. And it’s a great way of giving us time with Madeline and Mike (as well as their employees and contacts) separately. I really like Samir, and it was good to see him very involved in the case. He’s got a lot of useful skills that balance the team and there’s a good chemistry between him and Mike. For me, this is a five-star read. I would recommend it to readers who enjoy having a bunch of mysteries to solve! The coastal Californian setting makes for a lovely scenic getaway as well. This book could be read as a standalone, but the series is very good and The Patience of Karma refers to some of the events of earlier books so why not start from the beginning?

5 stars! I love romance stories centering around sports, and this one was even better because the female lead is a tough and independent woman, trying to succeed in fields where men usually dominate. At first I didn’t know what to expect with the first few chapters, it seemed like Kennedy was going to go on to play football, but because of men dominating the scene she was cast aside. So she does something else she is passionate about which is sports journalism. When the two meet and end up together, I love it, I love everything about their relationship and how Hunter loves Kennedy that much more because of the fact that she is not your average girl. I had a feeling something was about to go down since Kennedy is writing for the paper and here comes the sleazy Jonathan. I liked how he tried to turn it all back around on Kennedy in front of others, made me hate him so much more. I highly recommend this book, it has drama, romance and sports. Perfect read for me.

Love On The Ropes is the first book in the Love In Action series by Aviva Vaughn. I’ve read a few books by this author before and have thoroughly enjoyed them so I had high hopes for this one. Thankfully, this is a great book and I thoroughly enjoyed this one too. 28 year old Erin Hung moved to LA from Hawaii 4 years previously and is loving her job doing marketing for a major radio station’s breakfast show. Her life changes when the show gets a new host. Clint Davenport is a former Topgun pilot and is now the host of the show. On an activity week organised by the radio station the two are pushed close together and both realise that there could be something between them. I totally loved both of these characters. Erin has no fears when it comes to the activities but has many when it comes to her heart and her personal life. Clint comes across as the perfect man with no fears but actually has a lot going on that he keeps to himself. The story is very easy to read and flows well, it has great characters and the plot is good which keeps the reader engaged and want to keep reading to see what that author has planned for Clint and Erin. Definitely recommend.

This light and fluffy romance book brought a continuous smile to my face. If you are looking for an easy read about a summer romance this is the book for you. I could not put the book down. From the writing style to the amazing friendships to the familial relationships, this book is everything you need. This book is perfect for all ages from teenagers to adults.

I have always said that as long as one person finds a little bit of happiness out of my books, I am, in my opinion, an accomplished author. The same is true for every writer out there. Please don’t ever let anyone tell you different.
I read books as well as write them and have visited the worlds many different authors have created. Those worlds not only make me feel better, but give me the strength to face real life again. I want to thank everyone who writes – I want them to know they are making a difference.

I really love Logan’s character and this latest mystery just kept me glued to my seat. Davisson truly does a fantastic job weaving a tale of intrigue together. I give East Beach: Red Farlow Mysteries: #3 by W.F. Ranew, 5 stars.
This is another great book in a wonderful Hard Boiled PI series. The story has so many twists and turns, I dare you to keep track the entire time. But don’t worry, it will all make sense as you go on. I was never exactly of the big picture since the author made sure to throw in a few subplots, but I could not put the book down — I needed to see what happened next. Such a gripping, twisting story.
But what this author really excels at and makes them stand apart is their character development. Each and every character in this story has an extensive back story. This makes them feel all that much real and you understand them so much better. You never really know who will be important later on or not, so you are left guessing just what role the character will play later on. I enjoy this aspect of the book, it makes the story feel all that more real.
This book deals with some adult situations, so I would not recommend it for a younger audience, but if you like your detective stories gritty and fully of suspense and action, this book is for you.

This story was really sweet. Kara and Julian have a beautiful story that makes you feel warm inside. I really liked the innocence the story presented. It’s like an old school love. Where it’s not forced or too fast. Everything just flows together into a beautiful harmony. Julian’s character was interesting. He didn’t give you jerk vibes or too good to be true vibes either. I found him to be a nice mixture or both. Kara was a little too straight lace for me. Like be wild and free for a change. Life is about living and learning. Trying something different. Messing up and learning to fix it so you never do it again. I really like this author and I will definitely be taking a look at more books by her. It just made me feel good inside while I read it.
We met Jessica and Ant a little in book one as secondary characters so I was so happy to see them in their own book. I love the way this author makes all her books believable and relatable with everyday life. That is what keeps me hanging on every word and makes me feel like I belong in the book. These 2 were great and I absolutely loved reading about them!

Reign is the third book in The Larussio Legacy series by Via Mari. I have read each book in this series and this one did not disappoint. Giovanni Larussio and his love interest Serena Moretti, are beginning to see what their life will be like when Giovanni becomes the new don of Italy. Rivals of the family will target anything or anyone that is important to Giovanni. Serena is trying to figure out if the jeopardy of her family will be worth being with him. I have loved reading Giovanni and Serena’s relationship evolve over the novels. This story in particular they are sure they want to be with each other, Giovanni thinks she is the love of her life, but they are trying to figure out if the risk is worth the reward. The mafia lifestyle is an intense world and I give Giovanni a lot of credit for trying to balance his family’s history and his own interests.

Child of Prophecy is the second book in The Tirumfall trilogy from J Drew Brumbaugh. I would personally recommend that you read book one before diving into this one as it does flow right from there into this and looks as if it will continue on into the final book in the trilogy, The Key to Tirumfall. These books have taken me on quite the adventure but I do have to say this one has to be my favorite so far and really took me away on a magical journey I didn’t want to end. We find Grant once more on quite the adventure that will take the reader away to a magical place with dragons, wizards, and action that will keep you sitting on the edge of your seat as you read. I really felt immersed as I read and I love when a book can do that, especially a fantasy. I am anxious to see how things come to a climax and fold up in the last book, The Key to Tirumfall!

I knew I needed to read Dare Game, the first book in The Irish Garda Files series from Melinda Colt, the moment I saw the cover and a few teasers. It looked so thrilling and enticing that I just had to dive into the mystery between the covers. This book is a good start to what I feel will be a promising series that I look forward to reading. This one had a few moments where I did have to scratch my head with some editing and repeating but otherwise it was a gripping read. It drew me in and had me guessing the entire time I was reading.
Dare Game brings us the character, John O’Sullivan. He is an Irish detective working to solve a puzzling new murder. This book has pieces of everything for everyone to enjoy between the murder mystery, the thrilling adventure the characters find themselves on, and the undertones of romance and drama to keep the reader thoroughly engaged. I can’t wait to see what book two, Killer Score, will bring us!

This is the second book in the Freshwater series. It is a sweet romance and quite enjoyable. I found myself lost in the story for the afternoon. The characters are fully developed and likable. The plotline is sweet and enjoyable. There were a couple of times that I was scared about things that were happening, but I had faith in Jessica. Jessica owns her own fitness business and she wants it to be successful. That is until Ant shows up. Ant is wanting to become muscular and wants Jessica to train him. Jessica has a slight itsy-bitsy problem…she is attracted to Ant. There were times that I talked to Jessica like I was right there with her like she could hear me and take my advice, Can Jessica train Ant and keep objective or will her heart take over? Can Ant change his ways or will he be a bad influence? I highly recommend this book to see exactly how Jessica and Ant’s story turns out.

Welcome back to the beachside Sydney in Belinda William’ Self Made that is the second book in her Freshwater series! It is a quick read that takes you down under and I have to say, there is something about those Aussie writers and their stories … We are getting Jessica Binks, the online fitness brand guru, and Ant Monticello, comedian and co-host of an evening current affairs show this time around. SHE has to get HIM into ripped with three months and obviously it all takes place under the eyes of the whole country … Belinda takes us on a ride filled with chemistry and laughter … you will root for both of them while wondering along with Jessica whether Ant really should change and what will happen when Ant stops trying to be the man he thinks Jessica wants him to be? There are also a number of other supporting characters that make the story even more enjoyable! I cannot wait to see who gets their turn next …

Self Made Freshwater Book 2 By Belinda Williams ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ This is a full length funny and challenging story. Plus a little bit of romance. As well as the amazing setting in Australia. Makes you want to visit.
Jessica Jinks is all about fitness. She starts out with the help of social media. Built her business and wants to challenge others to try. In walks Ant (Antony) Monticello a very funny comedian. He keeps you laughing throughout the story. His comebacks are hilarious. He does take Jessica seriously. Now as the story comes together, they have 3 months to make a noticeable change. You must read on to see what happens.
Thank You Belinda Williams for this fun, fast and romantic story. I love your characters, the bantering is engaging. The story line as well as the self improvements work well together. I really did enjoy reading this the second book in the series. I just know the next one will be worth the reading. I can wait for #3. Job well done Belinda Williams!

Self Made is the 2nd book in the Freshwater series by Belinda Williams. Each book can be read as a stand-alone but the characters from the other books are re-occurring. I hadn’t read any of Belinda Williams’ work until I read book 1 in this great series, which I thoroughly enjoyed, so I was looking forward to reading more of this series. I’m so glad to say that I was not left disappointed. I loved Jessica when we met her in Between The Lines and it was so good to get inside her head and really get to know her. We also get to meet Ant in Between the Lines and I couldn’t wait to see what mischief he would get up to. Well, the guy is a comedian. I have to say that I laughed a lot during this book. Ant’s antics when he’s first introduced to exercise is hilarious. He’s such a great character to read, you just can’t help but love him. This is a fast flowing story that I did not want to put down. It definitely fits the description of a ‘page turner’. The storyline is great and the characters are very likeable and realistic. I loved getting to see Kat and Matt again and also Em whose story we are getting next. Now that is one story I can’t wait to read.

Self Made is the second book in Belinda Williams’ Freshwater series, and can be read as a standalone. It follows Jessica Jinks, who runs her own fitness business, and Ant Monticello, a successful comedian who has been roped into following Jess’ “Hi-Jinks” programme by a TV show he works for. Ant enjoys his couch potato lifestyle and is reluctant to get stuck into Jess’ world of early mornings and healthy food (especially kale. He’s scared of kale.). This is an enjoyable read, set in a beautiful coastal Australian landscape. I particularly enjoyed a scene where the pair go for a kayak trip! The story is tense at times but balanced out with plenty of humour. I particularly appreciated Williams’ inclusion of the work Jess does with Ant’s father, Stefano. As Stefano has gotten older, his mobility has decreased significantly and he has dementia. Jess’ dedication to helping people enjoy and benefit from exercise is not limited to young, active people and she comes up with some clever solutions to help Stefano. Each book in this series focuses on different central characters, but they are friends with the characters in the other books. I really like this format as I enjoy seeing characters after their Happily Ever After, and it helps me get into a story when I’ve met the main characters before. So I would recommend starting with the first book, Read Between The Lines, where you’ll get to know Jess and Ant as secondary characters. For me, this is a five-star read. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting a fun romance, particularly people interested in fitness. I have to say, it almost motivated me to exercise (watch this space, I may give in tomorrow…).
