Bonds That Beckon (Daughters of Anubis Book 1) by Kelli Kimble – Review by Angela Hayes

Bonds that Beckon (Daughters of Anubis, #1)Bonds that Beckon by Kelli Kimble
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3 Stars

Bonds That Beckon is the first book in the Daughters of Anubis series by Kelli Kimble. It is a YA small town paranormal tale- a bit of a coming of age story about fitting in, acceptance, small town mentality, feeling like the outcast, prejudices, friendship, family, drama, and self-discovery.
I didn’t connect with the story or characters like I had hoped to- as this story should have been right up my alley. I felt like something was missing and wanted to know more about the characters, backstories, and situation. But, I plan on revisiting it soon, before I start on the next book, to see if I still feel the same way- or if I was merely having an ‘off’ reading day with it.

Thank you, Kelli Kimble.
