This is the 2nd book in the Chicago Vigilantes series. Salone and Luke find themselves in another exciting, deadly and capativing romance. I really like how the author is able to keep the flow of the series. The authors writing again in the story was just excellent and capativing. The reader is hooked from the very first page until the last.
I cannot wait to see what the next book brings and how much it will develop.

Urban Justice (A Chicago Vigilantes Novel #2)Urban Justice by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Urban Justice (A Chicago Vigilantes Novel #2) by India Kells was a great 5 star read. I was pulled in right from the beginning.

We start with Luke and a buddy exploring the tunnels under Chicago, after sending his friend back Luke ends up coming up on a dangerous scene that brings him face to face with the vigilante.

The vigilante is working to get a dangerous drug off the streets. Sloane ends up approaching Luke to see if he wants to help. As he is working with Sloane they discover a connection between them. With everyone working towards the same thing, will they be able to keep everyone safe and get the drugs off the streets?

Overall this was a great thrilling read. All of the characters added a great element to the story. I really think these two were perfect for each other, they seemed to have several similarities in their life. If you are looking for a great edge of your seat read, 1-click and get started today.

I was so excited to get my hands on this book because of how much I liked the first one in this series. This author never disappoints. Sloan is a very strong, intelligent woman with a past that she struggles with. Luke, is a professor who has been asked to help the vigilante and his team. Sloan and Luke have off the charts chemistry and I enjoyed their characters. This story is full of action, suspense, romance, and wonderful characters. I couldn’t put this book down once I started reading because I needed to know what happened. This is a must read and I cannot wait to read the next one. I highly recommend this book.

Love Heels!: The TV news business can be murder (PJ Santini Series Book 3)Love Heels!: The TV news business can be murder by Lynne Russell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love Heels by Lynne Russell is a laid back easy on the brain kind of mystery. The story moves along at a nice little pace. I love the main character P.J. Santini. She is just so real. She knows who she is, and she is happy with it. I love the everyday way that Russell writes. P.J.’s family is what most families are like, but they don’t want anyone to know. I love P.J.s family and friends and the neighborhood she grew up in. The dialogue kept me smiling all through the book. Yes there is mystery, yes there is I intrigue and danger but Russell manages to make it seem like just another day. I can’t help it after reading this book I just felt good all over, you will too.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Sound of Silence by Dakota Willink was an absolutely incredible read! I was enthralled from the very beginning and couldn’t put it down. I almost finished it in one whole sitting, it was so good! This book could definitely be traumatic for some, and a huge trigger for people who have experienced domestic assault of all cases. But this is definitely a book worth reading. The author does such a good job of describing domestic abuse, and the thoughts and feelings behind survivors. I was very wary of being triggered myself reading this book, but I took the plunge anyway and I’m so glad I did! I think everyone should read this book at least once. This is one that will definitely resonate with you long after you read the last page. This thriller of a novel is definitely one of my new favorites now. A giant kudos Willink for this book.

Urban Justice (A Chicago Vigilantes Novel Book 2) by India Kells is a romance story. The story is full of suspense and darkness. It is fast paced and just as enjoyable as the first book in the series. India’s writing style makes it easy to get lost in the pages. India is one of my favourite authors and I love the palpable grit she infuses within the story. It is also full of intrigue and danger as Sloane and her masked vigilante team try to keep the city safe from a new drug that keeps on spreading. There is one person however who thought he had left the dark life behind, but it is the beautiful woman that sees him once again hiding in the shadows.

Secure Boxed Set: Chase Security Series Books 1-3 by R.L. Dunn – Review by Gail Guerrero

Five stars

This box set was a great read. Dunn really knows how to draw you in and make you not want to leave. I enjoyed the characters and the plot line. Each book was different and unique. I really enjoyed Elizabeth. She has a very caring heart. She really felt for every patient. The flow of each story was very smooth and gave you the feeling of being right in the mix of it. Ian is my favorite Chase. There was just something so enticing about him. Julian’s story was very touching. He went through so much and yet stepped up when he was needed by Holly. Each character had there good and bad points. It was just hard to see the bad when the author wrote them so well. The growth and adjustments the characters made in order to love who they chose. The way they were willing to move mountains to keep them safe. The trauma buried so deep that it stands a chance at ruining that happily ever after. Definitely something you should put on your must read list.

Secure Boxed Set: Chase Security Series Books 1-3 by R.L. Dunn – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Secure Boxed Set (Chase Security #1-3)Secure Boxed Set by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Chase Security guys have quickly become one of my favorite series to read. Each story is unique and full of enough drama and suspense to keep it entertaining while also focusing on a couple and their road to each other.

Secure Desire (Chase Security #1)
Ian successfully runs a private security firm with his brother. His past military experience makes him sought after. Six years ago, he had a brief encounter with Callie. When he sees her again, he can tell she is different and is determined to figure out the secret she is hiding before it kills her.
Callie is working for the FBI when she meets Ian…although she feels like they have met before. However, she is determined to hide her secret because Ian will want nothing to do with her if it comes out. However, Ian is relentless and determined…and maybe that’s what she really needs.
This story has a lot of layers…none of which I want to give away because it is a great book to read without any clues. I found myself immersed in the story as soon as I started reading it and I enjoyed it until the very last page.

Secure Again (Chase Security #2)
Wow…there is a lot going on in this story and it is an amazing ride. While this story may be intimidating due to the amount of pages, I found myself flipping through them so fast and I arrived at the end of the story before I knew it. I was so engrossed in the story that I completely tuned out the world around me.
Martin, the CEO of Chase Security, is called home when his brother ends up in the hospital. Elizabeth is the doctor treating Martin’s brother. The two share a heartbroken past that they must face when they see each other again. This is not your typical second-chance romance, though. First, R.L. Dunn makes them work hard to move beyond the past and even have a chance at a future. Oh…and there’s the web of prisoner abuse and other crimes that they must unravel along the way.

Secure Heart (Chase Security #3)
This is third story in the series and focuses on Julian. Julian has recently become the head of Chase Security’s San Diego branch. He is digging himself out of a past that has beaten him down. Upon arriving in San Diego, he finds out that Chase medical is endangering its patients and putting their lives at risk. One of those lives belongs to a little girl named Sadie. Sadie is suffering from the same condition that took Julian’s wife from him…but he is determined to save her. Her mother, Holly, has her own past demons that force her to keep her walls up. However, when Holly and Julian are together, the chemistry is definitely there. However, more danger lurks around the corner when a serial kidnapper targets women and their children. Julian, and the rest of Chase Security, are trying to find out who is behind everything while keeping everyone safe.
I found myself really invested in both Holly and Julian. Their pasts had me hoping that each of them would find happiness and not be faced with heartbreak again. Holly is a strong character and not quick to let a man take care of her…and I loved that about her.

All three books in this set are amazing and definitely worth the read!

Ian Chase, Wow he has been smitten but is trying with everything he has not for fall for Cassie. He is professional and puts his job first. But I know he would like to…. Well you will just have to read the book to find out what he really wants to do. He is a strong character in this story. You can’t help but fall in love with him

Book 2
Elizabeth Reed is a trauma surgeon who has seen her fair share of injuries. She also suspects something is no good at the prison. So much Trauma, adults, children, and prisoner’s. But… she has had enough. She is documenting her suspicions and keeping it until she has enough proof. In the meantime she is having problems with one of the doctors. He has caused enough problems for her to fix. So she needs to put a stop to it. That’s when everything she stands for is jeopardized. The doctors think she should let the officer who was shot die. She can’t though! Read on to see what happens next.

Book 3
Julian (Smooth) Dupart has returned to San Diego to rebuild the Chase Security building. What he stepped into was not what he expected. Holly is a single mother of a 4 year old princess. Holly writes and performs concerts, running her shows and getting home to Sadie. That is all she wants. A healthy daughter and to be a good mother. As the lives of these two people collide, so does everything around them.

R.L.Dunn has written all three books in this series. They are well written and fast paced. I fell in love with all 3 books. This security group are people you would want to help you out. Get on the rollercoaster of emotions, not limited to love, tears and anger. These books are so much more. I love the characters, as the women are strong, and can take care of themselves. But having a strong man protect you, that’s a whole different scenario. Well Done R. L. Dunn! Well Done!

This is a story that deserves more than 5 stars. This story touches many aspects of abuse and violence with domestic partners. A world that needs understanding, as well as education. Here you will find you are not alone.

So go ahead and read about Gianna, Derek and the other characters in this non stop page turning book. As Gianna is much stronger then she thinks. Even stronger than her husband believes her to be. Derek, well he is the chief of police and not a good one.

I applaud Dakota Willink in writing the rollercoaster romantic suspense story. I could not stop reading and listening to this book. She left no stone unturned. Her research is spectacular and her writing skills are what won my heart. While this was a hard story to read, it was something I will remember always. Also Dakota Willink has gained a new reader. My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I always know I am in for one heck of a read when I pick up anything by Seelie Kay. She has a way of weaving stories that keep me engaged and well on the edge of my seat as I read. I was excited to see this new series, Donovan Trait, and the first book this one, was something with a bit of a twist to her other works. This has a heavy paranormal side to it with vampires and all the lore that goes with them. I loved how this wove a typical plot line but kept things interesting with interweaving the vampire storyline as well. I was constantly wondering if I had things figured out only to find out I was wrong lol, those are the best books to me personally. I loved every moment of this one and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book in the series and to see where this new storyline will go.

The action continues in this vigilante series. Noctem Consulting is still chasing the tail of Mr. White. The need to take the drug Phantom off the streets of Chicago still burns within them. None more so than Sloane, especially with her past. They realize that the criminals are entering the drugs through the underground tunnels. Deciding to consult an expert, Sloane approached Luke Radcliffe. He’s an ex-marine turned university professor but is also passionate about urban exploration. He knows the tunnels better than anyone. Love blossoms in unexpected places and Sloane never experienced anything like it before. Working toy towards a common goal, they grew closer than ever.

This is another book filled with action, danger and romance. This book is a worthy addition to this series. Definitely a must read!

I couldn’t get enough of this books witty and intriguing story. In fact I found myself reading well into the night to find out what would happen with the characters that I fastly fell in love with in Gianluca. This is the first in the Marini Family Romance series from Isabella Cassazza and like I said this one has a lot of wit and humor laced in with the romance story to keep the reader fully engaged from beginning to end. I loved how I was swoony while I read the story of Gianaluca and Callie. These two are some opposites for sure but the balance they find with their differences is something we all could be envious of. I loved the premise and the backstage pass to the fashion industry as well. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book in the series!

Secure Boxed Set: Chase Security Series Books 1-3 by R.L. Dunn – Review by Liz Vrchota

Secure Boxed Set (Chase Security #1-3)Secure Boxed Set by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What more could you want than three exciting and action filled novels in one convenient boxed set? I love boxed sets because I can enjoy series in a much more convenient way and this one was no different. I was excited to see the Secure Books come to us in a set. I will be snagging a few for some gifts this year as this is just in time for gifting season. Below you will find my individual reviews for each book in the set. This is one you don’t want to miss!

SECURE DESIRE :
I must say I am struggling a tad with exactly where or how I want to place this book on a star scale. I have never had the pleasure of reading anything R.L. Dunn prior to Secure Desire so I was completely new all of her writing style. Dunn has one hell of a knack for detailed writing. While I loved that most of the time I felt like I was right there with the characters and in the moment I could have done without some of it sometimes. It felt a tad heavy. Only because I wanted to get to the the point and found myself several times confused in the novel. There is immaculate research done clearly evident as well, but again, I don’t want to feel as if I am in the History Channel.

Bottom line, I adored the story for what it was, and found myself falling in love with Ian and Cassie quickly. I was invested in them from the get-go and was on the edge of my seat wondering how everything was going to turn out for them in the end. Which I must say was quite unpredictable as well! Another fantastic plus. I look forward to checking out more of the Chase Group Stories and whatever else is available or will be to come from R.L. Dunn.

SECURE AGAIN:
Ohhhh my, I just totally adored this book. I was completely sucked into it and couldn’t put it down until I had soon consumed it in one full sitting. Literally, I never even got up to cook supper this book consumed me that much it lead to a fantastic pizza night in our household!

Elizabeth Reed is everything you want to see in a female lead. A strong and fierce force to be reckoned with when it comes to medical integrity, she truly made this book so delicious to read. I Farmer (Martin) Bailey is the type of man that makes you weak in the knees; delicious, strong, protective, and down-right a hot Alpha lead. Elizabeth finds herself questioning the injuries that are coming in with the inmates from the local jail. As a doctor something doesn’t seem right and she is determined to get the the bottom of it. Just as that is heating up she is also faced with the fact that she is keeping the brother of the man she loves alive. These two do not have a pretty past but can they work together and find a beautiful future together? I can’t wait to see what the next book in the Chase Group stories will bring us.

SECURE HEART:
This has been a fun series to follow and this book being the third, I would suggest reading the previous two before diving into this one. We really grow and get to know the Chase Security team throughout them but the characters overlap from book to book. Dunn really has a knack for writing a well developed and layered story. I love that the romance is simply a layer, not the whole read, and in doing so it becomes an enhancement not a chore to read. I was anxious to get my hands on this one and discover more of Julian, and was he as smooth and sexy as I ever expected. Holly and Sadie bring a sweet and sassy side to the story and kept me giggling at times with some of Sadies antics and points of view. I really look forward to seeing what we will get in the next installment.

The Sound of Silence by Dakota Willink – Review by Kari Williams

The Sound of SilenceThe Sound of Silence by Dakota Willink
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

To say that this novel was spectacular seems like a bit of an understatement…it was mindblowing! The Sound of Silence is the first book I’ve read by author Dakota Willink, but will certainly not be the last. Wow!

This novel contains many triggers, but it is so raw and so real. It is so well written that the emotions you feel are right there with the characters in the story. It is a mulitple point of view and that just adds more depth, in my opinion.

Gianna is trying to start over. Her marriage started off well enough but quickly morphed into something truly terrible. When she was finally able to get away she thought she was home free, but that didn’t turn out to be the case.

Derek is a native New Yorker and a successful business owner. When he is away on a business trip while trying to start his business he meets this girl that haunts him for years to come. But what if fate brings her back into his life? Will he have the opportunity to make something of it?

This story reaches into our soul and takes everything! I’m truly in awe of the story and the writing! Thank you for a truly inspiring novel Dakota Willink!

This is the first book i have read by Dakota Willink and i cannot wait for more. This dark and twisted story has you gripped from the start it tackles domestic violence and it made me very emotional at times it maybe hard for some readers to read about this there is a trigger warning. This is very well written and really grips how we don’t really know what happens in peoples lives behind closed doors. I stayed up all last night reading this. Gia is such a strong women you want to keep reading to see if she gets the courage she needs to move on and have a happy ending.

The Sound of Silence by Dakota Willink – Review by Kerry Carr

The Sound of SilenceThe Sound of Silence by Dakota Willink
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is an emotion filled rollercoaster of a book which has you gripped from page one and doesn’t let go. There are trigger warnings for this book which are needed because of the issues covered in the story. Domestic abuse is a hard topic to cover and do justice to but this author has done a fantastic job. Its the first book I’ve read in a long time where I have actually felt the fear of the female character. Its like a horror movie where your screaming at them to leave but its easier said than done when you are actually in that situation.

Gianna thought her life would be perfect. She met the man of her dreams, he brought her dream house, treated her like a princess. However her prince wasn’t all that he seemed and their chance meeting wasn’t by chance at all.

Ethan planned everything. What Ethan wants Ethan gets. Whether that’s the cute barmaid who’s caught his eye, an obedient wife or a family he will stop at nothing to get his way. This leads him to resort to physical and mental abuse.

Add to the mix Derek a stranger she met on her wedding day. The connection between them was strong and felt right but they parted ways. He never forgot her and when they meet again he is still drawn to her.  He can tell she has had a bad life but he doesn’t realise how bad. Trying to separate truth from lies he learns its worse than he ever could have imagined.

Can Derek fix Gianna and help her recover from her past. Or are the scars left by Ethan and his abuse to deeply bedded inside her?
