8 Second Ride by Shannon Nemechek is a quick read but doesn’t feel like it in the sense that it has everything you want! This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I was not disappointed.
Tuck and Jessie are not what you’d call friends. Jess is quite spoiled and Tuck has a hard time dealing with her. Imagine his surprise when she invites herself to Las Vegas where he is trying to win the title he so desperately wants. Tuck set out to follow in his dad’s footsteps and this buckle is part of that plan. Dealing with Jessie, not so much.
Jessie was not my favorite person. After she explained herself, I understood but it took a bit to get over. Tuck, as much as he tried to keep his cool in respect for her father, he gave it back to her. The characters were relatable. They were real. I really enjoyed reading their story!

What an unexpected surprise this book was. Mr DeBlassie has one of the most interesting ways of telling a story that I’ve seen in a long time. It’s almost like sitting around a campfire listening to urban legends. This dark thriller with some supernatural aspects was yet again an excellent example of this mans talents, he took the normal good vs evil to a whole new level with exceptional world building and character development.
Definitely not for the faint hearted but an AMAZING read.

Author Suzanna Lynn is a happily married, full-time mother of three beautiful, energetic children, and lives in a small town nestled in the deep rolling hills of Missouri.
Growing up in the Ozarks, Suzanna spent her childhood wandering the fields and woods surrounding her home. While most children avoided the dark corners of the woods, she sought them out; imagining them to be filled with fairies, dragons and all number of creatures.
Having not lost her childhood imagination, Suzanna has written numerous poems, songs and short stories that won various awards in high school and college. Her dream was to, one day, be an author.
In 2014 she decided to stop wishing she could publish a book and made the dream a reality when she released The Bed Wife.
That first novella gave birth to two more books, completing the series, and stirred the embers of a new five-book series called The Untold Stories. She has since published stand alone novels, and even has several children’s books in the works.
When she’s not busy writing or spending time with her family, Suzanna loves to draw and paint, as well as scrapbooking. She also has been known to volunteer with her children’s school, the Ladies Auxiliary, and even the local zoo!

This story isn’t about love, like, lust, or a happily ever after. This story, my story, is about struggle, pain, and suffering. Fighting to stay afloat while being pulled under by what feels like the murky and powerful undertow of the ocean. Fighting for strength I so desperately need when all I am feeling is desolate and weak. I’m a girl who exudes hatred when a normal girl of my age and pedigree should be the picture-perfect portrait of love.
Alcohol consumes me. Drugs numb me. Sex for money feeds the hollow abyss deep within me. How does an escort turn her life around when the last several years of her life has been spent traveling down a very dark path?
The Shadow
She became my obsession, my every thought. She is the reason I wake up in the morning, plotting, scheming, exacting a revenge she so desperately deserves. But will she take my offer once she learns my true identity; sees the darkness within me, or will she hate me for lying to her all of these years, leading her to lose herself to the drugs and alcohol that have kept her ghosts at bay? Will she be my Precious?
T.R. Cupak was born and raised in the suburbs of a Bay Area city in California. She now lives in a quiet town south from where she grew up with her husband and their Shih Tzu Harley and German shepherd Mac.
Saying she is obsessed with cars is an understatement. Since her sixteenth birthday, she’s had at least thirty-three vehicles. Cupak is a self-proclaimed wine and bourbon enthusiast. She also loves a wide variety of music—anything from classical, EDM, rock, pop, country, and heavy metal, to name a few.
When she’s not at work or busy writing, you can find her curled up with a good book or binge-watching a random series while enjoying a glass of wine or bourbon neat.
Professor Valentine: A Student-Teacher Contemporary Romance is the first book in the Kirk University series, and debut novel by Diana Vale. It is also a novella- which makes for a very quick and easy read. As the title would suggest, the story is a new adult contemporary student-teacher romance- with some drama, angst, and gives a great snapshot of university life. What happens when 18 year old Cassandra Rodriguez, a psychology student and freshman at Kirk University, falls for her professor? No spoilers from me, you will have to read the story for yourself to find out what happens. This was an easy read- but I did have trouble connecting with Cassie and Diego- which made it more difficult for me to fully appreciate this story. But, maybe I was just having an off reading day, so I ill reserve my final judgement and see I am interested in reading the rest of the series to see where we go from here.

This is one of those books that will break your heart while also trying to make it whole again.
Ciera has been bullied since middle school and just wants to make it through her senior year. Topher is one of those bullies, but has found that being at the top of the high school pyramid isn’t always as glamorous and amazing as people make it out to be. Once Ciera shows up on Topher’s radar, she seems to be everywhere. A chance encounter during detention one day will change the course of both of their lives.
While I don’t want to give away the plot of the story because it is beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time, I feel like Ciera and Topher come into each other’s lives when they both need it. Each brings something to the other’s life that will change them and stay with them forever. I definitely needed some tissues while reading…but I still enjoyed every page.

Strings Attached: A Braebeach Rock Romance by Loriana Cappello is a YA contemporary romance story. It is a story of young love and the hurdles that we overcome to make it work. Loriana has given us a story of real people who are real and raw and how all their insecurities and angst when faced with being apart. These young people are just starting out and not in the normal conventional ways. The story was easy to read but flowed a little slowly to me. I nearly gave up but wanted to know how it ended. I enjoyed the story and the characters all bar one who I would shamelessly slap down and then stomp on for good measure.

Learning to Live: An Enemy to Lovers Ugly Cry (The Infinite Love Series, Book 1) By Kira Adams
I absolutely loved reading this book. This was a very emotional read for many different reasons. Ciera will grab your heart from the start, she is strong, intelligent and goes through so much. It took me a little more time to warm up toTopher but he grows so much in this story. There is love, loss, growth, laughter and tears. The author did such an excellent job conveying the emotions the characters were going through. Once I started reading this book I couldn’t put it down, I read it entirely in one sitting. This is a must read, I highly recommend this book.

Beckoned Born Of Darkness Book 1 By R. B. Fields ☆☆☆☆☆ Vampires, Romance and hot steamy reading. That is what you will find in this story. Full length novel with a touch of Paranormal. Strong women make for a strong story about vampire hunting. But that one vampire is more than she bargained for. This story will keep you reading. There is plenty of hot steamy romance, along with a storyline. All is not what it seems.
R. B. Fields is a new to me author. I have found another writer that writes what I enjoy reading. I love the characters, even more, the strong woman who knows what she wants and goes after it. You will find this story to be a page turner, starting with page one, ending with The End. You can be sure I will be looking for the next exciting read by R. B. Fields. Well Done R. B. Fields. Well Done!!

This book is so raw and so mind gripping, it feels real, there is so much emotion in this story it makes you feel part of it. I was in two minds about nicole i wanted to like her but there was just something making me hate her, the way she is a wife with two kids and just seems like an absolute bitch, and Kris deserves so much better, but they just seem to fit somehow with so much sexual chemistry you almost want to be her.

A Tennis Pro To Die For by Judy Moore is the third book in the Cozy Mysteries to Die for series by Judy Moore. Moore’s attention to detail about the dark underside of the tennis pro circuit is intriguing. Another great mystery starring Beck O’Rourke. Lizzie, Beck’s sister talks Beck into taking tennis lessons at a nearby country club. Beck loves to read and really isn’t an athletic girl. Beck is good at is solving mysteries. Several weeks after starting tennis lessons one of the tennis pros that both Beck and Lizzie had class with is found dead. Beck has assisted the local detective Devon Mathis with solving a couple other mysterious death in the community of Manatee Beach, Florida. I love Ms. Moore’s Cozy Mystery Series. A Tennis Pro To Die For has just the right amount of mystery and intrigue to it that it keeps you reading.

I honestly was concerned about reading this book because I normally wouldn’t consider “the mob” as my reading genre. But gosh am I glad that I picked it up. I was immediately enthralled in this suspenseful, interracial love story. I was shocked to realize that I was able to enjoy this book without a lot of mob family knowledge and found myself rooting for them in the end. There are a lot of twists and turns in the plot that will keep you so intrigued and turning the pages faster than you can read them. Or at least it did for me. This was a book I almost found myself wanting to read the last chapter to find out what happened and then reading the middle sections to know how they got there. But I didn’t give into that temptation. And I am glad that I didn’t. Please take the opportunity to pick up this book and read it. I think that you will be happy that you did.

Climb The Walls by Sacha T.Y. Fortune is the first book in the Hart and Cole Series. It is a contemporary romance book with a twist. I loved it! It is a very intriguing story about the ups and downs of married life. No marriage is perfect nor easy and this story emphasizes that. The story does jump between characters, and i love that too! I like to stories that show both sides of the characters point of view as well. If you like steamy, romance that shows all the real life ups and downs of a marriage I highly recommend. I know I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
I really enjoyed reading Learning to Live: An Enemy to Lovers Ugly Cry (The Infinite Love Series Book One) by Kira Adams. This is my first book by this author and it won’t be my last. She pulls you in from the beginning and ensures to hold your interest until the very last page. The characters I was torn at first on how I felt about them, I loved Ciera and god felt for her after all she endured, Topher I wasn’t really a fan of at first but I came to like him. What will come from these two? Will they get a happy ever after? The author did an amazing job bringing the book and characters to life! I highly recommend it and cant wait to read more from this author.

I give Nite Fire: Slash & Burn by C.L. Schneider, 5 stars.
This is Urban Fantasy at its finest. The 4th book in the series and the story just keeps getting better and better. The story is gripping from the beginning, I was pulled in immediately and couldn’t put the book down. There are so many twists and turns, you may get dizzy. But in a good way — you will gladly continue on the crazy ride. Not only do we learn so much more of Dahlia’s past, but all of the characters are constantly evolving to keep up with the changes happening around them. I am fascinated by the growth they have taken, both good and bad.
An overall exceptional Urban Fantasy, I highly recommend this book. Part of a continuation of story, I do recommend reading the other books in the series first. You will have a new binge-worthy series to catch up on.

Sonya Jesus and Cam Johns are new (to me) authors so I didn’t know what to expect from the novella, Sons of Sindicato. I am not a huge fan of romance, reading mostly thrillers so the idea of a dark romance mixed with crime and suspense did pique my interest. I thought the novella was good overall, it kept my interest from start to finish and it had a really strong plot and storyline. I was hoping to love the characters a bit more, but my sense of detachment did not take away from the suspense and danger the story held. I would be interested in reading more from both of the authors and would definitely recommend this 4 star read to anyone that likes dark, action packed excitement.

Seconds from the internet famous collections is the first book that i have read by Cam Johns. This was a amazing read and once i started reading i could not stop. I loved reading about Braxton. This Author has a way of sucking you into the story i really wanted to know what happened to Phoenix and why. One thing i liked about this short read was i was unable to figure out what was going to happen next. I thought the ending was great and i wanted to keep reading more. I would add this read to your to be read pile. Thank you Cam Johns for this wonderful short read and i look forward to reading more books by you.
This is the third novel in Judy Moore’s Cozy Mysteries To Die For series. In my personal opinion these books just flow and are so much better when read in order. You really begin to feel as the characters are family you could visit from time to time and join in on their adventures. I love how Moore writes these mysteries with just enough humor and wit to feel like you get a comedy read as well. It is a unique spin to the cozy mystery genre. In this one we visit the world of pro tennis and man do things get messy. Beck really finds herself in the thick of it while taking tennis lessons she was coaxed into taking by her sister. The death of a tennis pro will make things even more interesting. I can’t wait to see where we will find ourselves next in this series.

I have really enjoyed the Historical Fairytale Retellings from Byrd Nash. This one of course brings us her rendition of Beauty and the Beast. I feel like sometimes the retellings can become a bit much from authors all the time, but this was a unique version that drew me in very well. Nash really reimagines the characters into some awesome and fun to read scenes that are original feeling to me. I really loved that she kept Poppy very much as a bookworm and built from there. It made me feel as if I was visiting a grown up version of one of my absolute favorite Disney movies of all. I will of course be back for more retellings soon I hope from Byrd Nash.

This novella was a well written and jam packed love story with a bit of enemies to lovers undertone. I enjoyed how this played out quickly and allowed me to disappear into a warm country day for a few hours as I followed along with Jess and Tuck. I won’t lie. I really did not like Jess and honestly she still wasn’t a fav of mine by the end of the book. I mean I understood why she was the way she was but I believe we all have to grow up and be adults sometimes and take responsibility for our own personalities. She did redeem herself a bit and overall this book ended well and would bring me back if this became a series from Nemechek.

Normally vampire reads are not a go to for me, but when I saw the cover and a few teasers I knew I needed to see what this was all about. Fields is also a new author to me so I am excited to get a chance to read what else she has available since I enjoyed this one. Beckoned it the first book of the Born of Darkness series, and I am super excited to get a chance to see what will come next. I loved the way Fields wrote these characters so well you can’t help but to fall in love with them as you follow them tackling the things life throws their way. I really enjoyed the erotic romance undertones as well because they were done well and with grace that this lifestyle deserves. I can’t wait to see what will happen next!

This really wasn’t my kind of thing, I don’t know why but the story just didn’t resonate with me and I wasn’t particularly gripped. The writing wasn’t bad, but I just didn’t feel an affinity with the main character of this book. It’s a shame really because I was really intrigued. I don’t think its anything that Earl did or didn’t do, because I am certain that lots of people will find this enjoyable – it’s emotive, real and raw, what more could you want – I just didn’t for whatever reason.
I will say that I did like the description of the journals and the way they played into the story, the colour coding thing was an interesting touch that made me think it might be cool to do that myself. I don’t think I’d have the commitment though unfortunately. We are introduced to Quinn. She is the voice of the story, she comes across as a prickly character right from the get-go. Quinn is not exactly easy going but it is because something dark in her past always drags her back from the brink of happiness before she ever gets chance to truly settle into it. And when her past comes to smack her full force around the face it’s all Quinn can do not to unravel and round the pain.
Like I said, this has an interesting premise, and I am sure that a lot of people will find this enjoyable and entertaining. It just wasn’t for me.

This is my first book by Kira Adams. The title of my review doesn’t lie- UGLY CRY. oh boy. I tried to read this while I was at work! I’m sure they all thought I’d gone mental. I loved this book. It was beautifully written and I can’t wait until book 2. This book is centered around Ciera and Topher. He teaches her how to embrace life and she teaches him how to love and open up. I don’t want to give too much away, because every detail is important. Totally recommend. !!

Best Of My Love: (Love In Emerald Creek) is a great second chance romance by N.D. Jackson. This was my first time reading any of this author’s work and I am sure that I will read more as I thoroughly enjoyed Best Of My Life. Dre has never intended to return to her hometown of Emerald Creek. It holds too many bad memories for her. It’s the place where her heart was broken. But when her best friend is beaten up by her husband, she just has to pull up her big girl pants and go home and look after Shayna and her kids. This book is filled with angst, which I love in a book. Dre wants to hate Erick, (the boy who broke her heart) but deep down she still loves him. Dre is a complete badass who takes absolutely no crap from anyone and I loved her sassy nature. She has absolutely no filter which make her hilarious at times. As much as Erick was the bad guy I totally loved him straight away. He’s compassionate and sweet and he totally adores his daughter Orchid. For me Orchid and the other kids are total scene stealers in this book. I always love a book that has cute, adorable kids in it. This is a great book which drew me in from the very beginning and kept me captivated and entertained right through to the end. I would definitely recommend this book.

8 Second Ride by Shannon Nemechek Review by Kaitlyn Stewart 4/5 stars
8 Second Ride follows Tuck, an Ex-Army Ranger, and Jessie, a spoiled daddy’s girl. What happens when a certain spoiled rich girl takes over Tuck’s trip to Vegas? Is Tuck going to open his heart for Jessie? This story is short and sweet. This is the first book I have read by Shannon and I love it! I’m definitely going to be reading her other books.
