Blood Mug (Red Farlow Mysteries Book 4) by W.F. Ranew – Review by Erin Wolf

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I give Blood Mug: Red Farlow Mysteries: #4 by W.F. Ranew, 5 stars.

I have always enjoyed this series and was looking forward to Red’s next adventure. This book didn’t fail to disappoint. Adventure happens right away in the story and then for a little while gets slower. There is a good reason for this though — we are getting background and information on the players in this adventure. While it may seem like a lot, it fits in perfectly when you remember that Red is a private detective and used to be on the force. This is exactly how he goes about things.

Then there is the story itself. It is different from any I have read before and there are quite a few possible reasons for the murder and a whole slew of suspects. You are kept guessing until the end while Red travels back and forth trying get to the bottom of things.

As a modern private eye mystery, I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to those who enjoy this genre. In my opinion, you do not need to read the previous books first, but I do recommend it because they are all wonderful stories.
