Apocalypse NOPE!! by Deidre Huesmann is a YA LGBT romantic comedy. This fun and entertaining read is Deidre’s modern retelling of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. This quirky paranormal tale is original in its telling, light-hearted and humorous. This one might just be my favourite of Deidre’s stories to date.
K.L. Montgomery’s Betrayal at the Beach: A Cozy Christian Mystery is the first book in the Dangerous Curves series. It is a YA story of a young amateur sleuth on a quest for answers. I am sure Nancy Drew fans will love this story. In true KL style the message in the story is about body positivity. This cozy mystery is a feel-good fun read.

A great collaboration with the author and her daughter. The book itself is extremely well written. I loved that the characters are relatable because all youth go through similar feelings when hitting puberty, or just in general when they do not feel like they are appreciated enough. The book starts us off on a great beginning to lead us on for other books to come, and friendships blooming. This is the perfect book for children 10 and up I believe, but if your child is on a high reading level even younger youth can read it. Don’t mistake this review to mean that adults cannot enjoy this book because I am an adult I got immense reading pleasure from this book.

The story is told from multiple POV’s which gives the story that much more depth.

In this fifth installment of the Billionaire Bodyguard series Via Mari introduces another tantalizing bodyguard to her impressive group of book boyfriends. This time around we follow the story of Sheldon and Alexis and a trafficker who wants her at all costs. Lots of suspense, steam and domination. This book describes a dream of my adolescence. In it I was a soldier in the Finnish Army fighting in the 1939 Winter War against Russia. I was killed and my fiancé was badly injured. It is her story of bravery and recovery and ensuing transition to her next life.
I have always enjoyed talking with souls wherever they are on their ethereal journeys. Many have wonderful stories to tell. I love listening to them and writing those stories. This is another such work. I’d like to thank all the souls involved who have shared their past and present lives to fulfill my dream in this book.

This short Paranormal story was great. I knew that I had to pick this one up when I first saw it because it sounded interesting and the cover was awesome. Bake Believe is the first book I have read by Cori Cooper, but I would definitely read more. It was a super cute book, and even tho it is geared toward kids, I enjoyed it as an adult. I think it is a little long for my 11 year old to enjoy, but it is a cute book for those who like reading. It is written from the perspective of Cat, an 8th grader. She has never cooked for real in her life, as everything is microwaved in her home. Her first day of 8th grade lands her in a culinary class, due to a scheduling error. She assumes she will hate it, but turns out she LOVES it. She finds she enjoys baking, and her current crush is in that class, and her group, which is just icing on the cake. See what I did there? You will find lots of that in this book- There are recipes between each chapter, and they are written in the lingo of a teenager- TOTALLY, Super Duper, etc. I found that really fun and look forward to trying the actual recipes from this book.

Luminoso (Book 4 of the Luminara Series) by SJ Molloy was a great read! This book could be VERY triggering for some however, so be cautious when reading not only this book but the whole series. Once you get past all the triggers and pages of sex, the storyline is incredible. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this series however due to some events that transpired in this book, I may not continue this series. But again, besides all the triggering content this series has been really good and I have for the most part really enjoyed reading. I can’t wait to read more from this author in the future, hopefully with some less troubling content involved.

Anthologies are always hard for me to get into because each story is totally different characters and another quick story. In Myths and Legends I did still have this issue because that is how it goes in anthologies but I enjoy reading anthologies to find new authors and experiencing their writing styles. One of the stories takes a look at Egyptian mythology and it’s very rare to see new takes on those stories so it was exciting to come across. I’m always a sucker for anything Greek mythology and Hades related so that was a great moment to discover as well. If you’re looking for new fantasy writers to find this is a great way to find some new ones.

This book knocked my socks off. I love psychological thrillers and this one is high on my list. The plotline is enthralling and kept me on the edge of my seat through the whole book. The characters are amazing. There are twists and turns throughout the pages. The attention to detail makes this book. Alicia has the perfect family or does she? You will have to read this book to find out what happens to Alicia and her perfect family.
Blood Mug by W.F. Ranew is the 4th book in the Red Farlow Mysteries series. These mysteries are wonderful to read because you really get to know P.I. Red Farlow through all the books. In this installment, Red is headed to Atlanta to meet with a chairman. When Red gets there, he finds that the chairman has been murdered – there is a dagger sticking out of his back. Through the investigation, Red finds more murder victims and starts working on figuring out the motive. It was really interesting to read about how Red shares about each victim and we get to know them. This is a great series! It does help to read them from the beginning to learn about Red Farlow and the way he thinks. I sure hope there are more books coming!

I loved reading this book, No Rest for the Wicked (Life Is Hell Book 1) by Naomi Valkyrie. It’s a paranormal story that had me hooked from the very beginning. I love the main character Delilah. When I read the synopsis of this book, I thought the Sheriff was going to be a bad guy. Instead, he’s a love connection. There are a ton of twists and there isn’t exactly a cliffhanger, but it does leave you wanting more. This is a well developed story that is a great start to a new series. A. J. Renee has done it again with this novel. Cursed Whispers is the third book in the Broderick Coven series. Max is a veterinarian and literally talks to animals. Claudia is a werewolf who is rescued by Max as she lay dying in the forest. There is a lot of push and pull in their relationship with Max wanting to protect her and Claudia wanting to find her daughter and escape the people who are her captives. Cursed Whispers is the third book in the Broderick Coven series. I’m hooked on this series. AJ has absolutely outdone herself. If you love protective hero’s and strong heroines check this book out. While you can read it as a stand-alone, I would recommend starting from book 1. This novel is all about Max. The quite one.

They are a delight and I look forward to reading each and every one of them. Such a classic way of not only writing it and reading it but by the way to weave an intriguing mystery. It’s almost like this author knows how to take their time to develop a gripping story you won’t soon forget. Arriving at a meeting in Atlanta, Red Farlow find the chairman with a dagger in his back. When others have a similar fate, it is time to investigate.

An Unexpected Bonding by Lilly Rayman is the first book in The Unexpected Trilogy. You have to pay attention during this story, as it is written from different points of view and different points of time. That being said, it is amazing. When I read the synopsis, I knew I had to have it! It is not action packed constantly, and I feel as though this helps the reader get a better feel for the characters and the shifts in time and POV.
Do not base your idea of this book off Twilight, as this story is vastly different and I think people who hated Twilight will fall in love with this story.

Try Right (Aloha Series Book 3) by Jill Brashear is the third installment in the Aloha series but is a stand-alone read. If you are a reader who could get lost in a fun, beachy, retro setting, this book is for you. The Hawaiian descriptions pull you out of your chair and into paradise in 1968. Claudia is an actress who lands a small role on a Hawaiian based TV show, and jumps at the chance in order to save her career. Along with finding gainful employment, she is also looking for her long lost first love. When she meets Henry, a stuntman, their paths intertwine and throw them for a loop. These characters are very relatable and it is quite easy to be swept up in the tide along with them. If you happen to find yourself in a “reading rut”, not knowing which book to pick up next, I highly suggest this one. With the lush descriptions and lovable characters, it is a breath of fresh air. It’s a vacation in a book! 5 stars!

This book is the first of a trilogy and after reading it, all I can say is wow! I can’t wait to read the others. The character development is great, the plot is well paced, and there’s just the right amount of romance. There are a lot of elements to this story (vampires, “werewolves”, fairies, Egyptian mythology, and more) but the author does a great job at shifting character POVs and showing the past and present without it getting too confusing. The characters are very relatable, despite being mostly non-human, which made the book much more enjoyable. Livvie is a strong female lead and I enjoyed her personality and how she grew throughout the story. I had a hard time putting the book down and look forward to reading more by this author!

I loved this book! Period romances are always a gamble for me, some I can get into and some fall short, this book was definitely a win. I liked the fact that this story was not only romance and steamy moments, there was betrayal, plotting of murder, evil family members and a spy. Philip loves Emily, even though he doesn’t admit it readily, the way he acts towards her, anyone can tell. But the way he acts towards her.. sometimes I wish Emily would tell him off, but that would not be appropriate for the times. Annalise is a nasty mess, and throughout the whole book I was wishing she would get slapped, but I guess her fate was worse since she was in a way abandoned, or what I would qualify as abandoned when she is found out. Emily is a sweetheart and handled everything so perfectly, I hate that she had to put up with Annalise and sometimes her husband’s actions and words. I can’t wait to see what this author has in store next.
Bake Believe by Cori Cooper was an adorable and fun book to read. Cat Anderson is your stereotypical teenager, obsessed with clothes, appearances, friendships and her newest crush. When she ends up in a cooking class the story starts to get a little wild and hilarious. Baking and magic are two of my favorite things and Cooper entwines them both so entertainingly. I think one of my favorite things about this book is the recipes that she includes throughout the book. This is a great YA book that Cooper left open ended, perfectly ready for a sequel. Which I can’t wait for!

What a fun read! At first I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to get into the story, but I quickly became engrossed in this book and reading quickly to find out what would happen next. I really enjoyed all of the characters, especially that of Luella. She is a brave, smart and adventurous girl. I love the fact that she has some sort of special power if you will, and can sense things, and that she is from a fantastical world called Storey. I never really understood who the men were that were trying to get her, but the fact that she evaded them for so long was amazing and shows her skill set and that she listened when her gramps was giving her all his many lessons and advice. When she meets Wren and Robin on her adventure to find her Gramps and Storey, I kind of had a feeling that these girls were somehow connected to her in some way. I really enjoyed this author’s writing style and the flow of the book. I look forward to see what comes next.

This is the second book in the Soul Connection series. The main character, Scott, from the first book is more of a minor character in this book (but he is still important.) Angel is hit by a car at a party by a man that has been stalking her for years. While her body is in a coma, her soul has inhabited another woman’s body. She tries to find out what is going on and get back to her own body. Logan lost his sister a few years ago and has survivor’s guilt. He has become an alcoholic and is the one who hit Angel with a car. He is just hoping that she survives, not just to keep himself out of jail for murder but also because he has added on more guilt. Opinion I absolutely loved the first book and expected to like this one jsut as much. There are some differences between the last and the present book. I was confused in several parts because there are so many characters, both in and out of their right bodies. The main concept of the book is a cool idea that I still find interesting. Overall, I liked the book but thought there was too much to follow.

This was a great story. It had a very adventurous plot and likable characters. The storyline made me want to keep reading. I wanted to get to know the characters and spend some time with them. This was such a good book that I read it in one sitting. Loved the relationship between Henry and Claudia and that they just engrossed you in their story! This book was filled with adventure, romance, some secrets and perhaps finding something you weren’t originally looking for. This was my first read by Jill Brashear and will definitely read her books again in the future! This can definitely be read as a standalone book; I was able to follow everything without reading the first two of this series. I do wish the characters were a little more relatable with their careers, but their wishes and dreams can be applicable for anyone. Would 100% recommend!

Holy moly talk about not being able to put a book down is exactly what happened with this one. I loved how the author kept you on the edge of your seat throughout the whole book. Zoe has a twin sister River who is also one of her best friends. Zoe and a few of her best friends have a Drama class together and that’s what a lot of this book is about same place where there teacher Mr. Larson (Elijah) is also involved in Zoe’s life. But that’s not where they first met. Zoe is a great singer songwriter actor she does it all. Zoe is an amazing girl with a great head on her shoulders. She goes through a lot her junior year of high school. Zoe has the best of friends who all keep her secrets and cover for her when she needs them. I loved how this book had everything death, love, relationships, abuse, drugs, alcohol, sex and cancer. I can’t wait to read the next book I hope it is just as good as this one was.
