Sexy Drug (Losing My Heart Book 1) by Melody Calder – Review by Stephanie Chapman

Sexy Drug (Losing My Heart #1)Sexy Drug by Melody Calder
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I found Sexy Drug to be a very character centered book. Melody Calder was able to draw my interest in with the constant turmoil within Ramone fighting his feelings and keeping the facade of a killer. Katie’s hatred towards her father runs deep, and she tries to thwart his control at every interaction. She Also has a deep-seated hatred as she suspects Carl’s right-hand Danny to be the one that caused her mother’s disappearance. What I found unique about the plot was that the assassin had a voice. Going by the name of K, he is determined to finish his mission or face a gruesome death at the hands of the unknown person that has hired him. The details of this book are gruesome, and I would caution anyone adverse to extreme violence and bloody death scenes to proceed with extreme caution. The ending was climatic and left off leaving me questioning the true motives of Ramone and Carl Rosemand. I also wonder if K is given another chance to kill Katie or if his botched sniper attempt has cost him his freedom. I can solidly give this a 5-star rating as the plot compliments the character development and kept my interest that I read the entire book in one sitting.
