In His Kiss is the first book by Ava Alise I have read. I enjoyed the complex relationship between Xia and Jordan. Having been friends from childhood, as college students they have fallen for each other but neither want to ruin the relationship they have by admitting their feelings. Deeper in this book it deals very sensitively with the subject of depression. This is a touch subject that we have a hard time dealing with even though mental health has become such a hot topic. She does a great job dealing not only with the people who have depression, but the surrounding characters and how they deal with the issue. I absolutely enjoyed the book and am looking forward to the next one in this series.

I love this author’s writing and somehow hadn’t picked this book up yet to read. When I saw it available to listen, I took the opportunity to snatch it up and enjoy a beloved author in a new way. Bondurant always does a beautiful job crafting a compelling and emotional contemporary romance. Listening to Royce and Rourke narrate this selection added a beautiful depth to the experience. I truly enjoyed listening to this book and look forward to reading/listening to more from this author.

Blue Summer Part Two by Everly Taylor is the second story in the series and is not meant to be a stand alone story.
First of all, I think the synopsis is adorable and I loved the go big or go home statement! Everly has written Lillie as a wonderful character and someone I would either love to be, or at least hang out with! I was worried the second story wouldn’t be as good as the first, but it truly exceeded expectations.
When Lillie finds herself in a similar position, can she and the Zayed find a way out, or are they all spiraling towards disaster?

Yes!!! This book was fantastic. After reading book 1 I could not wait to read the 2nd book to this series, and boy it did NOT disappoint. I am loving the hot vibe between Millicent and Sheridan. Book 2 has Millicent being “stalked” by a hellhound and no doubt a creepy doll. Can I just say, nope no way when it comes to creepy dolls! We learn the reason why Millicent is being stalked and who is behind this mystery. I also love that we still have other characters in this book and you also meet Sheridan’s parents. I am ALL about this series with demons, witches, a nix, shifters, a fallen angel and we eventually get to meet a fairy. So looking forward to starting book 3!

I was immediately drawn to this book as if it called my name. I experience vivid and very real dreams from time-to-time, so the simple involvement of dreaming grabbed me. The pull this book had on me did not stop once it was opened. The author writes with such an intimate style, I feel as though we were in the same room. Being interested in spirituality, dreams, and past lives, I simply devoured this book. Mariekkela: From Finland, with Love by Stuart Ledwith, PhD is an original, historical story that takes the reader back to 1939, in which Mariekkela’s Kari is killed by Russian soldiers. The book follows her life after the incident, and is a testament to undying, true love. The author also has a book titled The History of the Universe: As My Soul and I Remember, and I am definitely going to get my hands on that one to fall deeper into this author’s world and ideas. I appreciate a read that inspires me to consider new perspectives, or deepens and broadens an existing perspective, and if you have never read anything from this author before, this book is a five star choice.

This is it. This book is EVERYTHING- fight with someone else. This book covers literally everything I didn’t know I loved. The romance was there – it wasn’t too much or not enough it was perfect. The smut was also present, also in a perfect way. This writer has a full handle on how to write superb books & I am THIRSTY for the next books. I honestly think this might be an all time favorite in my romance category! – disclaimer: please research trigger warnings following this book : there are a couple of different scenes that would be rather unsettling (not super overwhelming personally but could see other women from some themes being uncomfortable. Patience and Duke go from a drunken hook up and total “I love you” confession after graduating high school – to Patience waking up by herself with no sign of Duke. As the day went on, Patience had discovered Duke had enlisted to the Marines and wasn’t coming back, she was forced to move on. After quite a few long years (a marriage, a child, Patience finding her live goals)- Duke moved back into their small town for good. Could the stars have aligned themselves any better just in time for Patience to get a hold on her very unhappy life. We watch and anticipate Patience divorcing her awful “husband” Greg, while literally BEGGING her to fall for Duke all over again. Upon discovering that they of course are ultimately still head over heels in love with each other; they both have to expose their baggage. Can they forgive the past and move on? Can Duke handle the secret that Patience had kept from him for all these years? Can Patience handle the twists and terms to come as we learn the real reason why Duke ended up coming home from his Marine career? Oh – did you think that was it? NOPE. Brooke May throws the worst cliffhanger of all cliffhangers I’ve ever read – I need the rest of the books ASAP. – disclaimer 2: this is a book you will not be able to put down – I not only finished it in one sitting. But I also stayed up until 3am because I absolutely could not put it down.

This is an audio book and is the first book in The Miss Series and is just under 9 hours. This is narrated by Ariel Royce and Christopher Rourke. This story follows Liam and Kendall. Liam is Kendall’s boss and she finds him exasperating and he finds her irresistible. But Liam has childhood issues and does not really want a relationship but there is just something about her. I found Liam to be kind of a jerk, but as you dive deeper into the story, you soon find out why. And Kendall and her inappropriate thoughts about her boss – what can I say? I think we have all been there!

Dirty Kisses and Conflicting Wishes (Kiss Me Series Book 1) by Danielle Jacks. This was such a fun read, in fact once I started it I didn’t want to put it down. Its the story of Zoe who is living on her own and had a successful job and great boyfriend but when she loses them both, how is she going to tell her family. She doesn’t want them to think she can’t make it on her own so she makes up a story about her brothers ex best friend being her new boyfriend. She has fibbed so much she doesn’t know how to get out of it so when she runs into Damien who is the brothers ex best friend she decides its fate. Damien wanted to be a popular actor in London but has ended up having to be a stripper just to make ends meet. When he runs into Zoe, that snake in the grass ex best friends sister, he thinks its just perfect to get back at him. As the charade goes on they end up telling their families they are engaged and introduce each other to their families as such. The only problem is, there might actually be feelings getting involved. How in the world did Zoe let this craziness happen. Read this fun contemporary romance to find out what happens.

Carnival of Shadows is the second book in the Black Water Magic series. While you can read them out of order, I strongly suggest that you read them in order. Somethings may seem out of place otherwise. This novel is just amazing. Teagan is a very unique character and her friends just as unique. Leslie Scott is a wonderful and talented author when it comes to urban fantasy. This is a great novel for anyone of all ages.

This is the second book in the Jaded Vamp books. I was captivated by the cover of this book. The plotline has a fast pace to it. I found myself flipping the pages faster and faster to get to the end of the book. The characters are unique and complex. It is a vampire romance that includes vampires and vampire/Lycan hybrids. Kaysee is trying to extinguish the hybrids and is having issues completing the task. Her husband, Dominic, was abducted throughout her mission. Will Kaysee be able to complete her mission? Will she find her husband? I highly recommend this book as well as the first book. I cannot wait to see what other books L.D. Wosar has written as I am intrigued by this story.

Miss Understanding Audio Book by Aubrey Bondurant is the first book in the Miss Series. This is fantastically entertaining book that had everything you could want. I thought the heroine was so amusing. Her inner musings had me smiling to myself on plenty of occasions.
Although entertaining, I liked that the story had a deeper side to it. There was a depth to it that I didn’t quite expect when I started listening to it. I was drawn in completely and kept finding excuses to start listening to the book again. I thought that the two narrators did a great job of creating a vivid picture. It felt like they each captured the essence of the character and brought them to life.
I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to listen to more!

I did not read the first book and I didn’t feel as if I was missing too much information, but I wish I would have read it first. The second book is easy to follow along and I was quick to get pulled into the story. Kaysee is a badass vampire, everyone in her group seems to like her and feel they wouldn’t really be together if it weren’t for her. Her husband Dominic, from the way he acts to how the others describe him, seems like a really douche bag. It seems he can’t functionally rule over his people any longer but is stubborn and won’t take help from a woman, his wife. The fact that Kaysee has been faithful to him for all the years they have been together hurts me when I found out of Dominics infidelities, especially since he lies every time that he won’t do it again. When he comes face to face with his maker, Claudia, again, nothing good comes of this meeting and Kaysee is in the dark about what goes down between the two. I hope when she finds out she leaves him for good, and I hope in the next book to see Claudia taken down. I highly recommend for any paranormal romance lover! Bring on the next book!
Red Coat Isabella Dunn is an easy but engaging story that really does tug at the heartstrings. For me this book is entirely about the characters. They are so relatable that I became invested in them immediately and really connected with their story. I figured this book would be pretty emotional while reading it but I didn’t quite expect to be taken on such a journey. It really felt like I experienced the highs and lows with the characters. This is a fantastic book that I thoroughly enjoyed. I would highly recommend it.

Absolutely loved this book! Reading the synopsis and seeing the cover I wasn’t too sure if it was going to be my style, but from the first chapter I was immediately drawn into this story. I was sad to see little Tally lose her mom at a young age, but she is a strong girl and goes off on the start of an adventure with her dad. Their first stop is India, everything, every place, every person was described so nicely, the picture in my head was so vivid. I was happy to see Tally befriend Balvan, and excited to see where their friendship would go in terms of adventures together. The magic of the pendant Tally’s mom passed down to her along with the Angel Jophiel that inhabits the necklace is such a fun addition to the story and watching their relationship grow and discovering the powers Jophiel holds and how they can help Tally is so cool. I would really recommend this to any child or young adult to read, or anyone really, it is a very fun and interesting to read. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Carnival of Shadows: A Teagan Blackwater Urban Fantasy Novel by Leslie Scott is the second book in the Black Water Magic series. This series is probably best read in order so that you get the full experience be character development although can be enjoyed on its own. I thought this book was really well written. Having not read the first book I was going in a little blind however I soon picked up on the story. I loved the main character, Teagan. I thought she had that little something about her that really grabs your attention. The story itself I found to be quite exciting. I wasn’t sure what to expect at all when I started reading and yet I found myself engrossed in what was happening. This was a brilliant book and I will definitely be going back to read the first!

Excellent! I need the next book now! The story is something new and different that I haven’t seen before. Sweet Vanessa is beautiful inside and out and is like an angel on earth, so to know she is struggling trying to fight for her brother’s condition, and seeing all she has to put up with at her job just hurts my heart. I’m in love with Raef, he fell in love so hard, so fast and will do anything for Vanessa, Grey on the other hand, knows he feels something for Vanessa but doesn’t really show it on the outside except in the form of small instances where he protected her in his own way. Vanessa makes a decision that she thinks is the best option but did not discuss it with her mom or Raef, and the way they both reacted made my heart melt. I seriously can’t wait for the next book to see what happens in Vanessa’s journey and to see what will come of her relationship with the boys.

I enjoyed this romance audio book. This is an enemies to lovers story which is well developed. The narrator brings the characters to life with each word and they are so great together. Liam and Kendall are great, strong characters that are connectable and made the story for me. I enjoyed listening to their story and their growth throughout the story. The narrator made the story fun and entertaining to listen to. I am happy I picked this audio up and it made my drive to work a little more enjoyable. I highly recommend this audiobook.

This is a well developed story about vampires and lycans and the author’s attention to details bring their story to life. The characters are great, strong, connectable and they brought the story to life on each page. This is a fast paced story that is full of action and passion. How can one night change everything? I highly recommend reading this book to find out. I enjoyed watching their growth and chemistry. Will Levi and Tasha’’s relationship be the death of them? It is worth the pick up for sure

I enjoyed this paranormal story. This is a newer author for me and I look forward to reading more from her in the future. This is a well written story that brings a carnival to life especially the freakshow that is full of paranormal characters that attack a city. The characters are relatable and brought the story to life. They made the story engaging, fun and entertaining to read. Teagan has so much going on in her life from the death of her grandmother to demons to witches and now the carnival comes to town with a whole lot of trouble. She is now left to defend the town and a powerful ring master that could turn everyone against her. How it all ends, you will have to read this book which I highly recommend. This is a great story that anyone would enjoy. A great paranormal story!

This is the second part to the book Blue Summer which is just as great as the first book. I highly suggest reading the first book before this one to help your enjoyment of this series. This is a well written story that is a continuation of the first book. The characters are even better in this book and made the story pop. This is a shorter story that really packs the action. With Lillie being kidnapped a second time the sorcerer is out for more power than ever. Thinking that she knows more than what she is saying, will this put her in more danger and will she be able to save herself this time? This was a fun and entertaining book to read. The characters made the story come to life on every page. It is a fast paced story that you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend this book.

Wow I really enjoyed this book. I loved the mixture of sci-fi, Romance and adventure. Astrid Sharpe has done an amazing job of creating not only the characters but also the world they are in. Both the lead characters Zensah and Poppy are strong willed and they compliment each other beautifully. You can feel every emotion the characters are going through from Poppy’s anger and fear to Zensah’s passion and restraint on his feelings.
Zensah is the leader of his tribe. When his tribe is wiped out he is hoping to be able to rebuild to stop his people going extinct. Imagine his joy when another tribe tells him of settlers who are willing to join his tribe.
Poppy is one of these ‘settlers and a very unwilling one at that. After being kidnapped her and the other humans need to escape. When Zensah realises that the women are victims he and his hunters vow to help and care for these women. And this is where the fun begins. The attraction between Zensah and Poppy is pretty instant but Poppy is determined to be an independent woman. With Zensah help she wants to learn how to live in his world on her own and not rely on him. As they spend more time together will they give in to their attraction? Could Poppy be the mate Zensah has been waiting for all along? Or will Poppy just think he’s after someone to mate to increase his tribe?

Although I started with book 2 in the series I wasn’t lost or confused by anything that was happening. I really liked the narration; it was easy and pleasant to listen to. There was quite a lot of action in the story which made it really exciting to listen to at times. I liked the characters and thought that they were well developed. I would definitely like to listen to the first book in the series and absolutely more from this author again in the future,

By Aubrey Bondurant
5 stars
I love this author and have read many of her books so when I saw this pop as an audio book I couldn’t wait to settle down and listen and I absolutely LOVED it! The story was as I expected from this author – she creates amazing characters. I loved Kendall – she certainly held her own against Liam and Liam – oh I know I shouldn’t have but I loved him straight away – who doesn’t love an arrogant but sexy as anything boss?!? Their story was brilliant, some great banter between them! The one thing I loved about this audio book was the use of dual narration, I’ve not listened to one like this before and it worked really well.
This is definitely a series I cannot wait for more from!

I found this paranormal romance both enjoyable and engaging and having read and enjoyed the previous book in the series I was not disappointed. This story focuses on hedonism demon Sheridan falling in love for the first time with Millicent who is a human and who has no idea about the paranormal world around her. To complicate things further for Sheridan, Millicent also has a secret admirer. Deputy Sheriff Millicent can’t deny the mutual attraction between her and Sheridan but then when a secret admirer starts leaving strange gifts which turn out to be magical Millicent gets distracted. Once the admirers intentions are revealed however, Sheridan worries that his involvement may get Millicent killed. The authors wonderfully detailed world building made me feel, yet again immersed in the story and the plot twists kept me hooked from start to finish. The characters are all likeable and have fascinating backstories which adds to the story. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

I have really enjoyed this series and I was really looking forward to reading this the fifth book and I wasn’t disappointed. It had the wonderful characters I expected and the exciting storyline I have come to love from these books. I really like the authors writing, I find the stories easy to read and the pace and flow is excellent – I’m engaged the whole way through. For me, I feel like this is my favourite book from the series, I had such a connection with Eleanor, she was so relatable to me, I felt like I really empathised with the her and the things she went through. I really liked Wes too and I’ve been waiting for his story to pop up! Overall a wonderful story with great characters! A definite must read!

Dunn – Review by Katie Matthews
This is a good story. I wasn’t expecting “that” person as a love interest for Sheridan. That was a surprise. I liked the thought and idea of the story but it was a bit slow at times. It really focused a lot on the thoughts and feelings of a certain character. Sometimes it was her daily life and a lot of trivial stuff and then a nap would happen. But it really picked up the pace towards the end.
I really enjoyed some of the newer characters and some insight into existing characters. I did not feel a connection to either MC. I did not dislike them at all but did not live them either. I love how their “crew” is getting bigger and better with each book. Those added characters towards the end should be wonderful if they show up in upcoming books.

I had recently read the first in this amazing series. First off I love that this series is so orginal! Its not what you expect and your truly in for a great adventure. If an anuthor can captivate thie readers, as this wonderful author does, you know hands down the book is going to be beyond amazing!
In the second book in the series we go more down learning about Lillie and her relationship with the people she met whom are called The Zayed. I love learning about the Zayed. Its a culture defined in the novels like no other. You could give me a whole novel learning about them and Id be more than interested.
Not only do you see the Zayed change though out the book but you also see Lilie. Not only in mind and heart does she progress from whom she was in the first novel but with her powsers as well! And that to me was super awesome by far. But with everything comes a price..the more she grew profiecent with her powers more she was put in danger, as well as the Zayed I would say, by the sorcerer. But as I read on Lilli is not someone who needs saving or a danzel in disttress. She becomes quite brillant with her powers. In the sense of you wouldnt want to anger her, now would you?
But I also was suprised to learn the sorcereer himself was not the only one to grow some certain powsers which made him more of an even more interesting character or a villan I should say.
As I read on you learn of how much Lillie’s fondness for the Zayed and to me it really shown from the first novel to where she was now how much the Zayed have come to be not just a part of her life, but people she would risk everyting for, even if it meant her own life. She truly loved them in the way she showed how much she cared and knew she had to save them from what was to come in this novel.
I love this series. If your looking for a quick read where you stay up at night to finish bcause the pace really flys, this is a novel for you! I love the romance, suspsense, and the drama scenarios put into this.I really enjoyed this one, I actually think I might have been more in deep with love love for this novel by a bit more than the first!
This author truly has a gift and their amazing! I would say read these in order. It helps to understand Lillie and The Zayed very much. Trust me, it ll make sense if yo u read it in order 🙂
Again, loved this novel. Im so glad so far I have gotton two beautiful about The Zayed and the adventures they face with Lillie and those around them!
Again, Phenomenal work on this beauitul novel Everly Taylor 🙂
