Stepping Stone (The Stone Series Volume 2) AUDIO BOOK by Dakota Willink – Review by Alexandria Richard

4/5 Stars

Sometimes there’s series where you just can’t fully get into book 1, but book 2 blows you out of the water. This is the case for me with Stepping Stone, book 2 in the Stone series.

We pick up where Set In Stone left off, with Krys and Alex exploring how much of themselves they want to give to the other, while staying within the bounds of their “agreement.” I liked the push and pull that each MC went through to determine what they were feeling and determining how to express that to the other.

We get to hear how the relationship, as well as Alex and Krys, grow; from opening oneself up, to new roles, we see the strength of each character, as well as their weaknesses and their drive to overcome them. The sexual aspect in this book is more romantic than in the first book, while not losing the BDSM.

I also enjoyed getting to know more of the side characters, such as Hale and Justine.

Alex and Krys are tested as they haven’t been before. Will they come out hard as stone or crumble under the pressure?

I continue to enjoy Lacy Laurel and Jeffrey Kafer as the narrators for this series. I thought both did a great job.
