My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Church-going school teacher, Samantha Wycoff, has been set on revenge since her son died after being brutally beaten. She knows in her heart that his girlfriend, Velvet Flores, is the culprit behind his murder, but she has no evidence to give to the police.

As she is lovingly called by Thomas’s friends, Mama Sam joins a “problem-solving” group led by Micah Kerrick, who had grown up as a neighbor and one of Thomas’s friends. Micah stepped into her life when she had to pull the life support from her son and had been a formidable ally since.

Joining Micah’s Misfits as the team is lovingly called requires her to step up and become a better person. Her ultimate goal is to run the New Year’s Day marathon. Read and enjoy Samantha’s move from professional volunteer to a small but mighty force to be reckoned with.
