As the days pass between the death of her son and his funeral, she spends more time with one childhood friend of her sons Micah Kerrick, he has been alternating between staying in her spare room and at his own home and has been a rock of support for Samantha, she has told him about her suspicions and what she believes happens and Micah surprisingly offers a possible solution. He offers her his help, however in return she has to join his team, The Misfits, all she knows is that he works for the government, but other than that, she is clueless apart from the fact that they are troubleshooters, but he is sure that she would be the perfect least likely suspect.

Samantha thinks it over, meanwhile Micah reminds her of a couple of attainable dreams which she can start working on while she makes her decision, but she feels too old, too unfit and too out of practice to even think about it, but she does agree to try the things she may have to do in order to join up. Will she make the decision to join Micah’s team and work her way towards the revenge she desperately craves, or will she just revert back to the lonely church going widow who spends her time knitting and singing until she joins her family in the afterlife? This is a story which takes you on a journey of grief, love, acceptance and revenge as you follow one woman as she figures out what her future will be and who will be in it.

Revenge (Least Likely Suspect Book 1) by Cooper McKenzie is one of the beat crime books that I have ever read. This book had me intrigued the minute I read the synopsis and let me tell you it did not disappoint. Every mother will do whatever they have to for their child, even if it means seeking justice or maybe revenge right? Cooper McKenzie captured the raw feeling that a mother has when she loses her child, it’s a very relatable story, with a plot line that will make you angry, sad, and keep you guessing until the very end. Her characters are amazing, the story was perfectly developed, and left this reader wanting more. Personally I can’t wait to read the next installment.

Ms. Cooper is a great author I have read a few of her books before. As a mother and grandmother, I could relate to the main character. This story was captivating and I couldn’t put it down.

With Samantha grieving and struggling with her loss she finds out her son’s girlfriend had a hand in his death. Will she extract revenge on the girlfriend?

With the help of Thomas’s childhood best friend, Micah Kerrick, offers to help her, but only if she’ll join his team of government troubleshooters. Will Sam say yes to Micah offer or turn it down? Will Sam get her vengeance?
You will need to read this story to find out…

This is a gripping story which had me hooked from the first line and I literally could not put this book down. In order for retired school teacher Samantha Wycoff to get justice for the murder of her son Thomas she must do the unthinkable. Samantha knows that Thomas’s girlfriend Velvet is guilty of her sons murder but as she has an alibi, although a fake one and there were no witnesses the police and the courts can not do anything. Then a childhood friend of her sons Micah Kerrick offers to help her but in return she must join his team of government troubleshooters. After all a church going retired schoolteacher who does voluntary work is never going to be suspected of any crime. As Samantha decides whether to join Micah’s Misfits in order to gain justice for Thomas, in the background Micah’s handler is not so happy with this unusual agreement and she could find herself in danger of being terminated. The exciting storyline had me happily turning the pages of this novel and the plot twist kept me guessing until the end. I felt engaged with the characters especially Samantha and this helped me feel immersed in her story and I really felt her need to get justice for her son. This book stayed with me after I had finished reading it which to me is a sign of a great read.

Cooper McKenzie crafted the perfect story pertaining to every mother’s nightmare. Least Likely Suspect: Revenge, narrated by Samantha Wycoff and her need to seek vengeance for her son’s death. Depressed after the death of her husband, Samantha received a call from the police stating that her son had been beaten and was in critical condition at a hospital. Samantha spends a week at the hospital before she reluctantly has Thomas taken off of life support. After hearing what had been witnessed by neighbors, Samantha knows that Velvet Flores, Thomas’s girlfriend, was guilty of her son’s death. She tried reasoning with police, stating that Thomas had been hospitalized before due to Velvet’s violence. Unfortunately, Velvet has an alibi, and police don’t pursue the case. During Thomas’s funeral, Samantha encounters Micah, an older friend of Thomas’s that had been like a second son to her. After telling Micah about the circumstances for her son’s death, Micah assures he will help in avenging Thomas’s death.
At first, when I read the feelings that Samantha felt around Micah, I suspected that there was a possibility of a romance mixed in. I was completely wrong. I also found it odd how the police didn’t take into account that Velvet had previously injured Thomas, did not attend the funeral and moved in another man in the house that she shared with Thomas. Those all seem suspicious indications to me. I connected with Samantha easily, because I know I would kill somebody over my children. I can’t imagine the amount of grief that she had balled up inside her after losing her husband to cancer and three years later her 24-year-old son. This is a 5-star book that dives into mystery, self-discovery, depression, and overcoming impossible odds. Does Samantha kill Velvet? Does the justice system deal with the consequences of Samantha’s actions or Velvet? Pick up this Least Likely Suspect: Revenge by Cooper McKenzie to find out.

5 +++++ Stars

Why have I not ever read anything by this author before this? A problem I need to fix immediately. This book was awesome!!! Perfect flow, just the right amount of back stories, just the right amount of details, just the right amount of everything. I picked this up and literally could not put it down till I finished. Which meant I carried my kindle around doing whatever adulting I needed to do while still reading. OMG I loved MaMa Sam!!! I connected with her immediately and felt her every thought, felt her every emotion, and truly felt like I was right there with her as she made decisions in this book. I want so much more of these misfits, Micah is now one of my favorite characters ever, and the best part is that it’s for so many different reasons then most of my favorite male characters.
The whole story was emotional, but at the end I was bawling, so while she couldn’t drive because of tears, I couldn’t read because of the same!

I can not wait for more!!! I loved every single thing about this book!!! I already want to read it again 🙂

Revenge (Least Likely Suspect Book 1) by Cooper McKenzie is a wonderful crime book

A mother will go to any length to ensure that her kid receives justice.
Samantha Wycoff goes away to the toilet after crashing a Christmas party, staring at her mirror and wondering, “How the heck did I get here?”Thomas, her son, had been badly battered six months prior and had died. Samantha believes his girlfriend, Velvet Flores, is guilty, but the police and courts can’t do anything because there are no witnesses, and Samantha knows the alibi is a lie. Micah Kerrick, Thomas’s boyhood best friend, offers to help her, but only if she agrees to join his government troubleshooting team. A retired schoolteacher posing as a churchwoman posing as a professional volunteer would be ideal for any mission — with the exception of one. Will Samantha decide to join Micah’s Misfits and make a career change? Will Micah’s handler consent to such an odd arrangement? Will Samantha be forced to resign, or will she be fired?

I loved this story and the concept of it as well.I loved every page of it. Every chapter was exciting. This is the first book in the series and I can’t wait to read more.

Great Read!
Least Likely Suspect: Revenge is my first read by Cooper McKenzie and I was very pleasantly surprised! I wasn’t sure what to expect but I am so happy that I decided to get out of my comfort zone for this one!

Samantha has been through so much, and even thought I can’t relate on the age part, I can relate to the grief of losing someone you love.
After the tragic loss of her son Thomas, Samantha wants revenge.

Micha is one of her son’s best friends and he wants to help her.
But is this something Samantha can do?

Although it is a short read, there is so much detail packed into this amazingly told story.
It is definitely worth the read!

I really enjoyed this book. The story was captivating and I  couldn’t put it down. The main  character was someone I could understand and relate to. As a mother myself with a son if I was to experience what she had I would have the same feelings of anger and revenge in mind.

When Samantha found out her son had died at the hands of his girlfriend all she see is red. Her heart is broken and as well as grief and is also consumed with anger and can only think of getting revenge on the person who murdered her son.
When her son’s friend Micah came to her with a proposition to leave her life as a retired school teacher behind and become a secret assassin in exchange for getting her son’s killer brought to justice, she jumps at the chance.
Will Samantha finally get justice for her son? Can she really become an assassin instead of a retired school teacher who sings in a church choir? Will the job of bringing bad people to justice give her a purpose in life again?

Very intriguing book. A trip between the past and present that gives a view into a momma wanting revenge for her son’s killer. I would too if given the choice. It was a very original plot written with her falling into the misfits. Being a momma, I could feel every feeling she went through. The pain, sorrow, sadness and every other feeling our children put us through. A really wonderful suspense story that I would definitely recommend.

I am sitting here trying to come up with words to express my thoughts on this book and i dont think i can even come close to doing it any justice.
We meet Samantha, and like any mother would do, runs at the first word of anything happening with her child, grown or not.

Through the events she wants revenge of course but with some help she gets a purpose to her life again while working towards that goal.

I really hope we get more of this story or even more of the characters on this one. I was hooked to see what happened and I will be the first to say i am not a fan of flipping between past and present but it was done well here and needed for the story.

This book was so fun to read. Initially I found it hard to connect and be interested as the main character is a grief stricken widow in her 50s that likes to knit and sing in the church choir;. I’m happy to report I was wrong.

Mama Sam is a badass. Samantha is my new goal; not my “I want to be her in 20 years goal”, she’s my I want to be like her now goal. Sam is strong mentally, physically, and morally. She analyzes each situation and person to make the best judgement for justice as possible; but she’s real about the outcome. The author, Cooper McKenzie, didn’t just throw her into scenes to do the badass things and call it good, she made her FEEL them. She values life and suffers from the just consequences that are dealt, and I think that is a real game changer in a book, for a character to actually have emotions and succumb to them, then of course continue to be a badass.

The other characters in the book were also great and quirky; I’m interested to read on and see what other adventures await Sam and the team.

This is a great thriller. It was hard for me to read, only because it is one of my worst fears as a mother. No one wants to think about having to bury their child, let alone bury their child because they were beaten so badly. I really felt like I could relate to Sam, as a mother how far would I go for justice for one of my children? I can’t say, only those who’ve had to live it can say. My heart broke for Sam over and over, I just can’t imagine the pain. I really enjoyed reading Least Likely Suspect: Revenge by Cooper McKenzie. This was my first book by this author. I’m excited about the other works and hoping for another book like this or maybe a book 2? Please! I highly recommend this for the thrill-seeking readers out there, or even if you just need to switch up genres you read! You won’t be disappointed!

I’m not sure what I was expecting from this book but it wasn’t what I got, it FAR surpassed my expectations.
While holding true to the suspense genre, this story really toyed with my emotions and felt deeper than I expected. It kept my attention throughout and the characters were realistic and in many ways, relatable. I think I enjoyed Micah’s character the most and genuinely appreciated the caring, familial feel to how the characters were written, despite being “secret, real life superheroes”. I would love to read more by this author in the future.

A thrilling novel about a mother’s thirst for revenge against the woman that abused her son, leading to his death. Samantha Wycoff, a woman with nothing to lose searches for a way to make her son’s murderess pay dearly for her actions. Holy Wow, what did I just read! Yes, a fantastic book for sure. This story just sucks you in right from the beginning. The story of Samantha Wycoff, whom just endures every mother’s nightmare, her son was beaten and passes. The plot of revenge against Thomas’ girlfriend, Velvet Flores, should be sinister. We have then Micah come into the picture, Thomas’ friend, help Samantha grieve but then plot the revenge on Velvet. There were some twists and turns to get to an end result, but will the revenge on Thomas’ death be a reality or fail? You definitely have to read this book, it is fantastic. I would LOVE to see a sequel in this story.

This is the story of Samantha Wycoff who gets the horrible news that her son has been in a horrible accident and is on life support. What’s worse is she has to make the horrible decision to remove him from life support. Micah one of her son’s best friends comes to support her during this time. All Samantha can think of is revenge for her son and making the person or persons that beat her son pay. Micah comes up with a plan but can Samantha go thru with it? Will Samantha get herself in more trouble or will she get the revenge she thinks she so badly needs? No parent should have to make the decision to remove their kid from life support or bury their child but once they do there is no stopping the grief in any form possible.

Excellent book! I really enjoyed this book and became completely lost in the story. My heart shattered for Sam, losing her husband and son which left her all alone, it seemed like her family really didn’t care. I was really hoping her son Thomas’s girlfriend, Velvet, got the punishment she deserved, if she was the one who killed her son. But it seems as though Thomas was not living the best life he could have been living. I loved watching Sam reconnect with some of Thomas’s old friends, them helping her in all ways possible and Micah asking her to join his group. I was intrigued to watch her form bonds with the 3 others in the group as well as Micah. I felt like maybe there was romantic feels on Micah’s part for Sam, I would really like to see a second book following along with the groups missions and lives. I really look forward to reading more from this author.
