Lark Donovan has lived her life in seclusion from her family since her father attended her college graduation. She lives in the Belcher Art Colony in Vermont for six months where she teaches art. Then she travels the country for the rest of the year attending festivals where she sells her art and teaching art workshops at various locations. She’s stayed away from her family’s beach house on Heron Harbor. Now she has to return for her sister, Wren’s wedding.

Hunter McMullen is Heron Harbor’s Chief of Police. Growing up in Heron Harbor was hard for Hunter. But when he worked his way through college at the University of Delaware, his life seemed to be on the right track. He fell in love with Lark Donovan. Their plan was to elope and live happily ever after. Then Lark told him she couldn’t go, and he hasn’t seen her since. That is until he turns his car around after seeing a stranded motorist on the main avenue of Heron Harbor.

Lark and Hunter are both tongue-tied with their first meeting in years. Neither lets the other know their feelings. Suddenly, Wren thrusts the rest of her wedding planning in their lap. She’s got a trial starting, and the last-minute preparations have to be completed. Can Hunter and Lark work together to finish planning the wedding? Will this have an impact on their future?
