This is the fourth book in this series which I enjoyed just as much as the first book I read. This is an author that I have enjoyed from the first book that I picked up. She writes with a lot of heart and her attention to details give the story a realistic feel. This book is no different. I enjoyed being pulled into the story from the beginning by the characters. They are connectable and made the story easy and fun to read. I had a hard time putting this book down. This is a story about a couple that were best friends then over one situation they become enemies but is it possible that they could become more to each other? Will they forgive, learn to trust to find a happily ever after? I enjoyed watching the growth and chemistry between Dahlia and Levi. They truly made the story for me. I really enjoyed what they brought to the story. This is worth the pick up and I highly recommend it.

I’ve read several of India Kells’ books and I love their romantic suspense, especially in this Dark Sparrow series. In this novel, Sam and Ellie are drawn to each other by a connection where sparks fly immediately, but they both have dark pasts that they have to overcome to be with each other. I felt like I wanted more depth, as this was quite a short read and the resolution seemed too easy. I also wanted to know more about the characters, rather than the plot. I would also mention trigger warnings for childhood sexual abuse and suicidal thoughts. Overall, a quick romance read.

So Close by Renee Regent is book four of the Love Grows series. This is a best friends to enemies to lovers romance and I loved every minute of it!
Dahlia worked so hard to get promoted to general manager so she’s not going to do anything to risk that. So when her first big project requires she work closely with her ex-best friend, she has to work hard for patience. Working so close with Levi is a dangerous game, the more time they spend together but she’s determined to keep him at arms length. Levi knows he messed up but he just needs a chance to explain. Working with Dahlia every day is a special kind of torture. He wants to break through the wall she built to protect herself but it’s not as easy as it would seem. Will Dahlia let her guard down and trust Levi again or are the destined to be ex-best friends?
I really enjoyed this book. Levi is determined but Dahlia is strong and independent. These characters meshed very well together and I enjoyed their chemistry!

Boy Released is the follow-up story to Boy On Hold by J.D. Spero. While I would say this book could be read as a standalone, I enjoyed it so much more having read the first book. There is so much history you need to know, so I would recommend starting there.
Boy Released reunites us with the characters from book one and takes place ten years later. Tyler is now back with his family, and after his mother is attacked is now the main suspect due to his troubled history. This story is an emotional rollercoaster. It combines mystery, compassion, and heartbreak and keeps the reader on their toes and turning pages. The characters are wonderful, and you get to hear from several different points of view throughout the story. The author writes in a way that makes you completely understand what each character is going through, even when they have different thoughts and opinions, you can relate to them all. I loved this story and thought it was an excellent follow-up.

Coming in on book 3 of the series I was nervous. But I was told it was a stand-alone romance book. I’m a hopeless romantic and a sucker for cute love stories. The book went as I expected with a ton of use twists and turns with a hint of mystery. Lark and Hunter are adorable together and I love the “old love finds its way to reignite”. The characters were so well described and no detail was spared, even the simple side characters you fell in love with. I loved the sister’s interactions, I myself have 5 sisters and could easily see their comments between each other being a real conversation with my sisters. This book was a light read, it’ll give you butterflies and make your soul warm.

This was a great 5 star read. Once I started I couldn’t put it down.
Sam was ready to make a choice. While making one last phone call to his brother, he ends up calling a wrong number and talks to a woman who sounds like she needs to be saved. Sam’s plans change and he is determined to find this woman. With his brother’s help he is able to find where she works and lives.
These two both have heartbreaking pasts. And unfortunately Sam’s dark past comes back to haunt them. Can Sam keep Ellie safe and have a HEA with her?
Overall this was a great read. I will warn that there are triggers in the story. The author does a great job with her writing, you feel like you’re right there with the characters. My emotions were all over the place. This book can be read as a stand alone but I suggest starting with the first one. I look forward to reading more from this author. 1-click and get started today.

This story………my heart……this is truly one heck of a book. This book really tore my heart strings and some. The story of Sam and Ellie is truly heartbreaking and so emotional. Sam gets to his breaking point and one fateful phone call changes everything. I do not want to give away more or spoil the book but it is truly an emotional roller coaster for sure. Beware of triggers. Overall a fantastic read that is one wild, emotional ride.

Cursed Touch was a great read! I’m not sure if this one was my favorite or not that I’ve read from this series so far, but it was really good! I occasionally felt lost from the story, like there wasn’t enough background or description going on. But I easily got lost in this novel and found it hard to put down. It was sweet (like most of this series) and VERY steamy. This can be read as a standalone novel but it definitely flows better and gives better background to the recurring characters if you read them in order. As usual I loved this novel and I can’t wait to read the next one!

I related to the strong female lead in this story, tenfold. Dahlia is a young, single mother to her newly seven-year-old son, Beckett, who must deal with the stress of co-parenting with her uncooperative ex-husband, Trey. Co-parenting is never easy, and especially when you have different parenting styles. This story not only revolves around the love that develops between Dahlia and Trey, but also the issues and real-world problems that arise from being a parent.
This story revolves around Dahlia, her son Beckett, her ex-husband Trey, and her ex-best friend, Levi, with whom she’s been estranged from for the past 7 years. Rene Regent does a phenomenal job at keeping the reader interested, from the very first chapter. Not only are you captured and pulled in by the possibility of a friendship turned relationship, but also the fact that being a parent truly is a full-time job, no matter what parenting style you may choose. I personally, wasn’t setting this book down until my curiosity was satisfied.
I love the way the story follows the characters around and gives you snippets into each of their personalities and the way they are involved in the story. Beckett is a very strong headed, amazing little man that reminds me of my own daughter, which made it that much more relatable. Adventuresome, honest little children are my favorite! I will be reading more by Ms. Regent, and so very glad I picked up this novel. It was everything I hoped that it would be, from reading the synopsis, and her writing style is just addictive. In this book, it takes 10 years after the first book. Just like the first book there are many twists and turns. You think it’s one thing and then it smacks you upside the face with something completely unexpected. I love the ho esthetic of this book. Having a loved one with schizophrenia, this book was relatable. I understood the guilt, and the need of understanding. I felt deeply for both boys, and their loved ones. Definitely a must read once you’ve read the first one. Excellent well done JD Spero! I’m excited to see what awaits us next from you!

This book was so good! I was so excited to read this after having read the first one! It definitely did not disappoint! The creativity and world building were just as captivating as the first book! This book is just as fantastic as book 1!! I always love stories with vampires and a dark world. This story of Christian and Delilah….loved it. The Consulate is very powerful and disapproved Christian and Delilah’s mating and it ended up leaving her on death’s doorstep, and Christian had no other choice but to “turn” Delilah. Christian wants revenge on those who hurt Delilah. There is no doubt that Christian and Delilah’s love is tested….and their chemistry is great. I just love this book by Author Sylvia Black.

This book picks up where the first book leaves off…Vanessa has been flung into the Underworld with Grey. Grey doesn’t want her there and she is not sure what to do about that. She is finding there are ways to communicate with Raef and Aroz. And she is still sorting through her feelings for Grey because she shouldn’t care what he thinks…right?!? But, as strange events start happening around her, she learns that there are other things at play here…and she just might be the way to fix it. But, can she do what it takes to make her world better? Or is she destined to spend eternity in such a drab place? (You have to read it to find out)
I enjoyed reading this book. The author has a way of describing the world in such a way that you feel like you can picture it. There are still a lot of unanswered questions (like what secret is their Mother holding on to)…so I’m hoping more will be explained in the next book.

The story or Aleksi and Deva is dark, haunting, and hot as hell. I felt like I held my breath the whole book and there were many moments I jumped up! This is another great read by Kells. Dark Bastard was an amazing read and I can’t wait for the next one. It’s part of A Dark Sparrow Series, but can be read as a standalone.
Ellie is trying to live one day at a time, but being a 911 dispatcher is hard. Especially when she thinks she can save someone’s life. The quote I chose for Ellie is: “And you know nothing about me, Sam. And yet, you stopped that final jump because of me. We’re strangers who have lost their way yet found each other. I see honor in you, a protector of your brothers. You may have reached the end of your rope that night, but I believe your strength is still greater than your pain. I don’t care that I don’t know everything about you. I think that for the moment, staying alive is the only solution we have.”
Sam is feeling lost and ready to give up on life. He decides to call his brother only to get a wrong number. When he does hear the person’s voice it changes everything for him. Avenging Devil Part 2: Satan’s Devil MC San Diego by Manda Mellett is more amazing than part 1! Part 1 left us with a cliffhanger but part 2? Oh my goodness.
Before we get started, I want to caution you that there are moments that can be a trigger for some.
Niran is willing to do anything to keep Saffie safe. Saffie has other “friends” that she connected with when living with the Wolves who end up helping her. And I love and are so excited for Niran & Saffie’s story and how they come together even after what seems to be a betrayal.
Part 2 shows us what the Satan’s Devils MC can do when the chapters come together to help a brother. There’s a connection between them all and the way the members welcome in those from other chapters that need help is amazing. A true family who cares for others even when they lead separate lives. Thank you Ms. Mellett for such an emotional but wonderful look into Saffie & Niran’s story!

As Sam chases after Ellie once he realises what has happened, he is determined to rescue her and keep her safe, however, the kidnapper has other ideas and instead brokers a deal, Sam will stay with him and learn what he wants to teach him and bonding with him, while Ellie will stay as his entertainment. Will Sam and Ellie be able to escape the gilded cage they are trapped in, or will this deal with the devil end up bringing them down among their demons for the last time? Liam Harker is a cop with the Chicago PD and is on semi-leave thanks to an injury he sustained while on duty, he is loyal to a fault and is always trying to tread the straight and narrow, but sometimes he knows that he has to cross it, even if it sticks in his craw. Catriona Walsh is a novitiate in a convent of nuns, she is a stunning woman with a head for numbers which her talent for seeing patterns and finding their source is what has led her to leave her old life and find this one, but is she about to take on a job which is more than she is capable of?
As Liam goes to sit in his usual café and look over the case files of what he is currently working on, he is distracted by a woman at the counter, but when she is introduced to him as Sister Catriona Walsh, he is completely thrown for a loop. Catriona meanwhile, is trying to convince him that she is the person for the job of digging into the financials he is struggling with so that she can use her skills for good, she is the light to his darkness and that is something he cannot understand.
Things start of on a competitive front with Catriona not backing down over Liam trying to take control of keeping her safe while not keeping himself in the same manner, to the point that she is annoying him so much he eventually backs down, but not without resentment and a bit of pride in how she handles herself, she is not the angelic being first impressions conveyed. Things go from annoying to rocky as things start to happen to them which lead them to becoming suspicious that someone is following them, their suspicion turn out to be right when after a night of digging, Catriona finds something she was not expecting and cannot compute, so she goes to somewhere she thinks is a sanctuary only to find out that it is the complete opposite.
Will Catriona be able to find the strength to protect those around her while continuing her mission to untangle the web of financial strands to figure out how to cut the money off completely, or will the web ensnare her and those around her? This is another romantic suspense which will hook you in and drag you along as the ups and downs of this rollercoaster ride keep you hanging on until the end.

Flirting with my enemy was the perfect recipe of romance suspense and suspicion! I enjoyed this book and felt like it flowed nicely! It was easy to read, I was anticipating the end right until I got there! Laura Burton did an excellent job and with my first book by her I definately will be keeping my eye out for more from this great author! Highly reccomend!

True Bastard is the 4th book in the Dark Sparrow series. Our favorite Chicago cop, Liam Harker, is checking out the financials on dear old dad to find anything to finally bring him down. Novice nun Sister Catriona Walsh is a genius with numbers and has been enlisted to help Liam. Liam fights so hard to respect Catriona’s vows but she doesn’t make it easy on him. These books just keep getting better. I love the world created and the action that flies off the page.

I really enjoyed reading the second book in this series! I felt like it was non-stop action the whole time!
The transitions are well written as the characters travel through time and space. I felt like I was right there with them experiencing it at the same time. I felt the characters’ relationships grow deeper and stronger as they try to save the world, too. The last couple of twists were unexpected but they also brought the whole story almost full circle with the first book.
Happily, I expect a third book or at least a prequel telling Matt’s story?!?

Dark Bastard: A Dark Sparrow Novel by India Kells is the fifth book in the series. This story follows Sam and Ellie. Both of them are going through a really rough time in life but can they help each other see the light? This book is about the depths of the human soul and how some handle it. There are some sensitive sections of sexual abuse and suicide. I believe the author handles them well and uses them to develop the characters. I liked the characters and it was interesting to finally get to more of Sam in this book. I look forward to reading the next book in this series and reading more from this author in the future.

Isabel Osborne is a woman entrepreneur extraordinaire, she runs her own PR crisis management business and it is a tight ship, but she is always busy and that doesn’t leave much time for anything else and Kai Jones is a blast from the past she would rather not ever see again, not for a bad reason, but because of the past she escaped from after he knew her. Kai is a former Delta Force operative who has seen and done his fair share of bad things, but nothing affected him more than the one who got away, but when he comes face to face with her again, it is the last thing in the world that he wants.
As Isabel listens to the outline of what they want from her, mainly her knowledge and connections within the Chicago movers and shakers, to keep an eye one in particular, what they didn’t expect was for them to meet so quickly, as the man in question had already made an appointment to meet with her about working with him, this is an opportunity nobody can pass up, so they make the necessary arrangements and put them into place more quickly than she could have veer imagined.
When she comes face to face with the man in question, she realises that appearances can be quite deceiving, but she is determined to see it through to the end and so states that she will be in touch through her lawyers once they have looked through the contract and given their opinion. Meanwhile, Kai is trying to get to grips with his feelings for Isabel since she crashed back into his life, but he is struggling to keep a lid on them and cannot resist her, just like the time they spent together in the past, but they are both so different now that it may be an obstacle.
As Zoe is drawn into working more closely with the man they want to being down, attacks begin and other unsavoury things start to happen, so when Kai ends up being her appointed bodyguard, they struggle with the feelings it digs up as well as the questionable motives and moves her new partner is trying to pull on her makes everyone uneasy. Will they be able to dog out the information they need to being him down, or will their digging just lead them further into the rabbit hole? Can they all stay safe and protect each other as the stakes rise and the danger increases, or will they becomes the next victims of the plot? This is another romantic suspense which will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout as you read along the path they all travel to get to the conclusion of the story.

Wild Bastard, the third novel in the Dark Sparrow series, is gripping! Kai Jones, the laid back one in the crazy Hawaiian shirts, gets a blast from the past when Isabel Osborne walks back into his life. Isabel is a force all her own with a past she would rather keep to herself. I simply loved this story. Kia and Isabel are like magnets, it only takes a flip to repel or attract. I am so happy I have another book to read in this series!
