My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a first time read for me by this wonderful author, and most certainly shall not be my last. I was truly captivated by the writing. The story itself was captivating it self, but the surrounding elements completely sucked me in. It was like a siren’s song, pulling you more in with every passing page.

The book gave me a great insight and introduction of people as well as surrounding things, to me that was more that intriguing. The feelings I got when I read were undeniable. I felt a lot of heavy feelings. The author did a wonderful job with that impact. Again, this was a book that really makes you consider all you have, and make you feel for those who really struggle in day to day life.

The story centered around a town that is basically fighting to survive each and every day. The details shared to us as the reader, is very heavy on the heart to say the least You feel for the people in this village and I kept thinking how lucky we are in todays society to have what we have, and we actually should be more appreciative than what we are. The town is closely watched, and day basically go day by day and as I tried to make clear, this life this town has is far from easy, or even predictable. It made me feel sad and helpless for these poor souls, but in truth this could be out world one day as well. It very much can be unavoidable if we do not play our cards correct. The story itself was a big eye opener for me.

The story was a easy flowing read, and it was beautiful and sad at times, yes. It made me feel very connected even more than I was when my first started meeting the characters. There were things I did not expect as I read through, that just made it all more intriguing. I really enjoyed this read and I will admit, I wanted more to read when I completed it, there so much words and questions of mine that I wanted. The author kept me in suspense at times. I highly recommend reading this to any reader, its something I feel we all should read in our life time. This was a unique book, and not one to be passed up.
